"So, Buki-sensei, was the village all just an illusion? Or was that really there?"

The better question is, do you beleive that it was there? Were the things that you experienced there real? Or do you beleive that it was all just an illusion? Perception matters

Buki-sensei, even if you are training us to fight, how does a crystal tie into our training? I mean no disrespect, but singing along with a crystal's tune will help us out when in our lives as shinobi?
*looks around, still trying to see if he was really awake...*
Aiko, her mother, the shadows, the cat, the tunnel, the hallway with the tapestries, the crystal, the fighting...it all seemed too real to be an illusion made just for training...

That world was to enhance all skills. Problem solving, technique, chakra use, teamwork. But it also taught you about life, about the people the reside in the village. It taught compassion and that things are not as they seem.
