See this book? No, not the manga, but the large, leatherbound one. I stumbled across this at a book sale that the local library was having yesterday. It's the 272nd copy of the 1857 Smithsonian Report, of which only 10,000 copies were ever printed, none of which were ever supposed to leave the US Senate, nor the Smithsonian Institute. It's in remarkably good condition, considering it's almost a century and a half old, and never should have been anywhere near a public library in Michigan.
It chronicles, among other things, the eight planets of our solar system, as well as "recent" advances in physics such as "electrical breath imaging" and the chemical structure of ozone. xp

-Mykal It only set me back $6.00, amazingly. It was about the most expensive book I found there though. Most of the other (newer) ones were around the $1.00 to $3.00 range.

Sammirah: That's not a bad idea actually...I was wondering where I might get a price appraisal on it. 3nodding
Mykal: I suspect the reason is manifold. First, I doubt that anybody knows any of these books even still exist, barring any surviving copies in the Smithsonian or Senate. Frankly, I'd be surprised if anybody in those places even remembers copies this old. Second, I paid in cash, so there's no way to track it back to me. Third....er...I'm a ninja? ninja ... xp

D K Crap! Great book sale in Michigan and I missed it? sad xp I'd hardly call that sale "great." I found this beauty tucked away, all alone in a corner. The majority of what they had consisted of trashy paperback romance novels, college textbooks, and National Geographics from the '70s and '80s. sweatdrop

As for NG's, I'm pretty sure we used to have a lot of old ones here once. They might still be in one of the (still) unpacked boxes from the house fire around six years back, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were lost. sweatdrop

Grew up in this very town in the lower peninsula. But I've spent some years living in the UP, and I honestly feel more at home up there than I ever have down here.
Though, even up there the drivers are pretty bad. xp
