Lady Phia

Phia smiled and nuzzled back into him as she too eagerly went back to sleep. She lazily draped an arm across his stomach, and a leg across his other. She was tired herself and quickly found herself among the dreamworld again.

The next morning Xol would find her curled up in her favorite plush chair, draped in a blanket, reading a book in her favorite place the keep had to offer, the library. Should he choose to find her that is.

Xol walked out from lab into the hallway that led to their bedroom. His right arm was phasing between something weapon like and his black mist. Again, he was tampering with himself. While others focused on androids and exterior weapons, he was turning his own body into the perfect weapon. Not that it already wasn't. Heh.

When he reached the bedroom the phasing of his arm stopped and was back to normal. The bed was empty meaning Phia was milling around or reading. That woman loved to read, that was for sure. Xol was actually happy he had a library in the Keep for that fact alone. Any way he could make her happy... and in turn it made him happy.

"Phia love... in the library I assume?" He shouted out as walked down the staircase towards that very destination.

Phia jumped slightly hearing the noise. She rolled her eyes and stuck a marker in her book, closing it momentarily.

"Yes...must ye yell?" She replied mentally and slightly annoyed. She didn't move from her spot, senseing him coming to her. She opened her book again and went back to her place, continuing her reading. She was curled up in her favorite chair with a thick blanket from the bed around her form. It was a bit chilly in the library even for the vampire woman.

"Oh, well must you talk telepathically all the time?" He retorted in a smartass tone. This was the way of things though, they would always act like this towards each other. It wasn't a bad thing, in fact he rather liked it this way. "Jeeze it's cold in here. I think if I tried, I could cut through glass with my nipples." Xol snorted a little as he laughed, walking over to Phia and standing behind the chair. He reached out and started to massage her shoulders. "What'cha reading? I rarely come in here these days, so much so that I forget what's in here."

She rolled her eyes at him.

"Class darlin' Very classy..." She responded to his remark. She closed the book and lifted it for him to see. 1984 by George Orwelle. "I wouldn' be surprised if ye've nev'r 'eard of it....it's from tha oth'r side." She pulled the blanket around her more. "Ye really should divert some of tha energy from yer lab to 'eating the rest of this place ye think?" She looked to him over the edge of her glasses as they slipped down her nose."Even I'm a wee bit chilly."

"Hmmm, I've been to the other side... but yeah, not familiar with the book or author." He shrugged, continuing to massage deeply into her shoulder and neck muscles. "I've been thinking alot. About us... and was wondering if you also thought it was time to take our relationship to the next level." Xol's hands started to sweat a little. Thinking about what he might ask her was making his nerves tingle. It seemed like such a long time since he was in a relationship like this and he didn't want it to end.

Thinking about what she said about the temperature he realized maybe his experiments on himself were in fact draining alot out of the power supply. He would add another generator to circumvent more power to the Keep's heating supply.

Phia relaxed into the massaging touch, her eyelids lowering and a lopsided smile on her lips. However she paused when she heard what he had said, and her eyes opened fully with what followed. She pulled her shoulders away in an effort to turn to look at him. For a moment her expression was unreadable, but it was hard for Phia to keep an neutral expression for long. She smiled.

"I'd like tha' very much..." She said, the blanket slipping from her shoulders. "I love ye."

"Oh you would? Well that's good..." He replied nervously. Suddenly his mind was racing, his body feeling flighty as if a thousand ants were crawling under his flesh. Holy s**t I'm nervous... Xol thought to himself before moving to the side of the chair and kneeling down on one knee beside Phia.

"I love you too Phia... more than you might know quite possibly... and that's why I have something to ask you." He swallowed hard and reached into his pocket. Whew, this is more nerve wracking then I thought I'd be. Xol pulled a small box out of his pocket and held his arm out, palm upright with the box, before gently opening it. Inside was a beautiful three diamond ring with the middle having a odd, but very faint black tinge to it. "Phia, this is a special ring. Very special for a very special person. That hazy diamond in the middle has my soul hinged to it. Why I give this to you is not only a proposal of love, but also a sincere and deep trust. If anything ever happens... to me... this will be the only thing that can bring me back. You hold the key to my existence."

He took a deep, slightly shuddering breath, mentally smacking himself for not asking this first. "And of course... will you marry me?"

Phia arched a brow at Xol's nervousness. Xol never was nervous around her before. Well then again they had never discussed this subject about their future. Speaking of which, why did he ever bring such a thing up? That made Phia suspicious, she knew Xol well enough to know that comitting had never been his thing, then again they had been together for what was two years. Did her answer startle him? Was he just nervous because he wanted to break up? Or was he nervous because...oh... Phia's heart stopped in her chest as she came to the realization that should have hit her first.

Her suspicions were only confirmed when he appeared on one knee at her side, and withdrew the box. She could barely hear the words, her heart was pounding so loudly in her chest, but she heard them all. She knew what this meant, what he was saying what that ring was exactly, it was beyond just a ring and a promise, he was essentially giving her the last bit of his life to her for safe-keeping. That was not lost on Phia. She was paralyzed for a moment, still letting the shock pass which probably seemed like long moments of agony for her poor lover. Finally, and without a word she leaned over, settled a calming hand on his neck and kissed him, passionately, and without restriction. And if that weren't an answer enough.

"Of course I'll marry ye, silly man." She whispered, softly, smiling, well, grinning rather.

After a bit of a pause which seemed like an eternity, Phia leaned in and kissed him. He kissed back eagerly, matching her passion with his own. This was it. What he had been waiting for, no, yearning for. It had taken a little bit for him to get it out, but the reward was worth it. Xol now had the love of his life for the rest of his life.

"Good because you had me worried there for a second..." He whispered back into her ear before slowly kissing her jawline back to her lips. An immense feeling of relief and love washed over him. With her beside him his life fealt meaningful and full of purpose. Things that had eluded him for quite some time. There was nothing else to do but hug her and smile. So he did.

"I 'ave to keep ye on yer toes..." She said softly. "And tah be 'onest, ye took me by surprise." She looked at the ring and kissed him softly once more. "It's beautiful Xol." She returned the hug, brushing away the wetness at her eyes. She felt for the first time in a long while, a sense of peace, which was odd considering that this was Xol, the man didn't let trouble come to him, he went hunting for it. Still she felt safe, like she hadn't any need to worry. Again, that was an off sensation for her, It was Xol, and Phia already was a mother of two.

Speaking of which. She would have to tell them. She sighed realizing this. Devon was almost 7 now and possibly wouldnt understand. Her relationship with Aria was still... well not the best, Phia doubted her daughter would be pleased by this news however.

|| Please do. Normally, people would have elaborate defenses surrounding their domains... but in the interest of RP'ing, please do.||

The thought had dawned on him before; Phia's kids. It came to full realization when she said yes. Of course it would be fine, he had been a father before. Xol was ageless... not because of being immortal, but because he had Divine Life being a Seraphim. This wasn't passed to his children and therefore while he stayed the same over time, they would grow old and pass. Many dear memories floated into mind... and that love would carry on to Phia's children. If they would have it that is. He was sure they knew him only for his evil deeds.

"You do keep me on my toes love. In fact, its quite a relief to have a polar opposite to define my weaker side." He smiled before continuing, "About your children though. What do they know me as? Some heartless murderer... or..." There was confliction etched on his face. He didn't mean the question in a negative way, but he earnestly wanted to know if they would even accept him.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 31, 2009 12:36 am

Phia paused in thought about that.

"I 'onestly dun know..." She started. "I think Aria thinks yer a letch still..." She smiled. "Which ye ar'...an' Devon....I dun think ye two 'ave ever really met...." She said softly. And then her thoughts turned some more on that. Would the children ever really visit her here? She hoped so. She loved them dearly and while she was on good terms with D now she wondered if Devon and Aria would stay in the keep on occasion. This was her home now after all and she knew Xol would try to love them as if they were his own. After all Phia knew that Xol's 'heartless b*****d' facade was simply that, as much as he would never admit it. She paused in thought, as her mind still played on the thoughts of children. Then, without much thought at all she spoke.

"Xol, what 'ave ye though' 'bout 'aving children...specifically us." She blurted, more readily than she thought she would. But, she wanted to have more, maybe not a whole ton but one or two, that would be nice. Specifically she wanted to have children with the man she now could call fiancee. It occured to her about three and a half seconds after she had said it he would quite possibly panic at the thought.

Xol was naturally caught a little off guard by her question. He knew what he wanted to say, but it just didn't want to come out. After a slight internal struggle he turned his eyes which were initially focused on the ground, back to Phia. "You know you're the love of my life and I want to enjoy every aspect of life with you. That of course would include children." He smiled and leaned in to kiss her on the lips, hoping she would be happy concerning his answer.

It wasn't that he didn't want to have kids, it was just this place was so dangerous at times. And knowing Mastema, he would be more than happy to try and get his hands on one of Xol's children. However... he wanted a family and more importantly he wanted a family with Phia.
