Anyone mind if I rant a little? [this is graceangel btw on her mule acct xd ] Um, yeah... so this morning, I am getting naaman ready... ok, the bus honks... we get down there and it's gone!!! geez... well, i call the dispatcher and am like why'd they leave. And, she's like, well the longest they can wait is 45 seconds... eek scream oh, well, how the F$#@ was i supposed to know this?? and I'm like... well, you know. this is my first child, and I was not aware of all these bus riding technicalities. GEEEEZZZ!!! stressed And, I was supposed to be aware of this rule because??? and, i told her we weren't standing outside cuz it was rainy... but i see we can't do that anymore. they came back today, but they said they wouldn't do it anymore... [/rant] phew... thanks... had to get that off my chest cuz they pissed me off doing that. but, this morning went much better and i had only gotten naaman to sleep an hour earlier. I might put him to be an extra half hour earlier tonight. oh no wait.. he doesn't have school tomorrow. well... i might try to keep him going to bed same time as last night at least if that's possible...
well, my quest is going well... i have more than half of it done and all that's left is the soldat which is of course the most expensive list of items in the group... but, i'm more than halfway to the first pair of soldat boots... and from there, i get the last of the anti-terror I was wanting... so, all in all it's going great.
GG, Well.. hopefully your tests go well. I'll keep praying for you... even if that the Lord should give you the strength to be strong just waiting for the test. Sometimes it's the waiting and not knowing that can make us uneasy.

I've had all sorts of trouble with bus companies grace...
you can look at it as a company of people that don't care if you're standing out in the rain, or dont see a differece between 2 seconds late or 2 minutes late...
or
you can look at it as a company of people that are just trying to do their job, that can't help it if they have to leave because there are regulations saying they have to... or that your bus is late because of standard poor traffic conditions...
currently, i'd say it'd be near impossible for you to see the bus company as the later option... thing is.. they are both. If they're late, they have to catch up to try and get everyone to their stop on time.... if you're late to your stop... then they have to leave without you...over here, if a bus driver misses a stop, the company can face a $10,000 fine... public transport is a chaotic affair at best, and while usually frustrating or confusing, once you get into a pattern, it will become second nature.

Well... that's part of it too I think. The better part of our school district is populated by families who have 3+ kids in the system. Most of them know the drill becuz they done it a few times alreayd. However, I being new to this doesn't know any better... but, i guess we'll be out there by 9:30 on the button everyday....

Grace, is it a public school bus? That would really explain why they have to do what they do. It could be worse, my sister has to PAY for her children to use the school bus, that's in Hawaii.
It's a learning experience!

stressed I love how I'm told that I'm being overly sensitive because I can't stand dead baby jokes. What the ********? There as morbid as hell. How can some one find that s**t funny? stressed
Sorry, I posted a rant about this on another board because they pop up where ever I go these days. I just got tired of it. I'm being treating like I'm overly sensitive and it's just because I'm a mom that I'm upset.
What the ********? I'm just angry and frustrated and I want to cry.

I don't think you're being overly sensitive. I think those jokes sound morbid and that you're perfectly justified in being upset. *Huggles*

I keep thinking what has society come to? I guess I just don't understand people. I think most of the people that find this funny are teenagers though. sweatdrop

There's another forum I'm on that if someone even thinks about posting one of those jokes they get a warning or a ban. No questions asked. Some people are just ******** in the head. God forbid they ever have kids of their own.

I sometimes wonder if I was ever that immature... or if I've just grown up a bit too much... I mean I could be pretty nasty, but I usually only harassed people in my own group of friends. I find that teenagers now are a lot more brazen about stating vulgar and/or offensive opinions. Maybe it's just where I grew up, but most of us knew when to stop.... kind of one of those unspoken line things that you just didn't cross...

I dunno. I was tortured in highschool. They stole things out of my back pack, stole things off my desk, spread rumors about me, tried to get people to beat me up, and I was sprayed with fart stuff a couple of times. Not to mention a time where I actually had my journal in my backpack and they copied pages from it and handed it out in one of my classes. I hated highschool and hell will freeze over before I go to one of the reunions.

I agree those jokes just aren't funny. I'm sorry you had a rough time in high school, I did too, Glitter. But look how sweet and awesome of a mom you are! heart
I took Logan for his 2 year checkup. He was so awesome, they were so impressed. I try real hard to make sure he's not scared of needles and doctors like I was. He was so friendly and let the doc check his ears, mouth, height and everything! I wasn't planning on him getting a shot, but I went ahead to get his Hep A. He didn't cry or jump! I was shocked! The shot people were so surprised. Needless to say he's getting a treat!
He had a lump on his neck for awhile, the nurse prac said it could be a lymph node or cyst, so all I can really do for now is monitor it. It has gotten smaller, it's still freaky to look at, you know? As for his speech, he's a little behind, so they're going to do a consult with me and see how he's doing and all and give me tips on how to work with him on it. Nothing serious, just to be safe!

I'm glad to hear that everything went well Luna, Not every kid is going to develop at exactly the same rate. One of mine that had the same problem with speech, ended up having an extremely high IQ, the ended up deciding that his mind was so busy taking in everything that he didn't have time to deal with speech till he was older. Did you know that Albert Einstein didn't talk until he was 4? You just might have yourself a little Einstein in the making.
