Maebe still felt warm, so maybe it wasn't too late. But she wasn't talking. And her eyes... oh ******** they were swollen shut. He'd done that to her. ******** ******** <******** kept jostling Chance's shoulder, worriedly pleading for him to wake. When he finally did, Otto felt an ounce of relief. He choked back a sob, his head beding down as he cried, his arm still cradling Maebe to his body. "I'm sorry!" He squeaked out, guilt and despair and fear wrecking him. " I'm sorry, I'm sorry I'm sorry---" He repeated over and over, his hand holding Chance's shoulder tightly in desperation. " Don't die. Please. I'm sorry, I'm--"

[courtyard- Horace] Horace continued to struggled valiantly against the evil that was Lucky. He needed to get Lucky off. If he'd had air, he would've hissed as he raked his nails down Lucky's cheek. Quote: COUNTER: 31 HP: 9/50 RUNIC: daggers

Beach -> Courtyard
The ache left. The throbbing in his head followed suit, and Lex stood - or what was once Lex. Now the man was little more than a vessel of rage and an unquenchable need to feast. Red eyes blinked into the sun, and a man lurched forward, seeking the nearest group of prey.
---
There. A man's red eyes went wide, then narrowed, when he found his first victim - black hair, already bloodied. Easy prey. A man was not against easy prey.
A man rushed into the black haired man's side with a howl, crashing into him and sinking his teeth into the victim's arm, attempting to rend flesh from bone.

[ Courtyard ]For as long as Robert looked at her, Mimsy did not break away. Her eyes met his completely, and found none of him within them. There must have been something there, something she couldn't quite see, and failing to do so was almost as painful as knowing what she had just done. Gradually, her determination to command him into obedience began to falter, allowing evidence of that failure's effects to bleed into her expression. His attention was lost shortly after, and though she pawed desperately at him in futile attempts to get him to stop, he wasn't listening. Nor was he stopping when Quinn briefly ceased his struggle, nor when he began to plead with him, nor when he began to fight back. "Robert-- Quinn--this is not--" Then he finally stopped. The ringing in her ears returned, and she was dizzied by the sight of him lying motionless there in front of her. A short and unsteady crawl was the only thing between them, and when she reached him she pulled gently on Quinn's arm. "It was not...please, he would not have intentionally done..." She closed her eyes, but it did little to combat the fatigue that enveloped her. "I have no bandage to offer. I cannot aid your injuries, but...please, forgive us, I need..." As she sunk down towards Robert's unconscious form, unable at the moment to think of any more words to offer, her hold on Quinn was only halfhearted. HP: 15 Virus: Cured

CHANCE - BEACHWas Otto crying? Or was he just imagining it? Everything felt very unsteady, Chance's vision a little blurred as he blinked around at his surroundings, trying to figure out what had happened. But it eventually came back to him, the continued throbbing of his throat and the raw sound of his own voice clearly evidence of Otto's handiwork.
Chance lifted his hand slowly and covered Otto's where it clenched his shoulder.
"Hey, hey, who said...anything about dying," he breathed out slowly, closing his eyes again, because it hurt to move too much. His fingers curled gently over Otto's, and he would have drawn them up to his lips for a kiss, were he able to, and were he not conscious of their surroundings.
"I'm all right," said Chance, with a little nod, though every word spoken reverberated in his bruised and cut throat, so he remained still for the time being.
"Are you...okay?" he asked instead.

GALE - COURTYARDThere was no way in hell Gale was about to shoot Stormy, so he shifted the rifle again, taking several steps back to aim. Once he managed to get her away, it would be easier, but when both were hell bent on destroying one another, there was little choice.
He felt his heartbeat thumping painfully in his chest. Quote: Virus Counter: 36 HP: 7 DMG: 0

Somewhere in the midst of brawling hunters and frantic survivors, one Amazonian scraped her way through. Bruised, bleeding, and with a sharp snarl marring her normally collected visage, Nora forced her way towards her only chance of survival. Even then, she looked much better than the figure she held in her arms: a burnt, barely conscious Thomas she had salvaged from some gruesome scene in the courtyard. "Where," she panted at the pair, "the <********>," cough, "should we go now? Because I've got," wheeze, "the stallion here in dire need of attention that I can't give." chirigami just gonna throw them here

[ horace ]The attacks continued unabated. Lucky could feel them clawing and biting and one of them even wrapping their hand around his throat in turn. Lucky was still seeing red, but it was starting to turn black around the edges again. He wanted to kick, but parts of him were unresponsive, leaving him dangling from Horace's back with no means to fight back against the would-be rescuers. His grip on Horace's throat began to slip. anyone in the general vicinity LUCKY IS STRANGLING HORACE COME PUT ONE OR BOTH OF THEM OUT OF THEIR MISERY!!!!111 Quote: HP: 11 counter: RED EYES runic torch (spent) runic bandages (USED runic trapping gun (USED)

Delicious. She chewed what little flesh was torn away and swallowed, savoring her little victory. At least Gale was forgotten momentarily. Ducking under the wide swing, Stormy threw herself at Bradley, her small body hitting harder than it should have. Even before this mission, she had been a starved but leak creature, lightweight but made of muscle. Attacking Bradley for: 7 Stormy hp: 25 a-disgruntled-dragon sorry Bradley fjsjskdnjska

Paying no attention to yet another rabid hunter (Lex) who had jumped into the fray, Nellie paused for a moment to look around her, grabbing a rock from the ground to pound it hard against Lucky's back. If they had to deal with Lex next, so be it. Getting Lucky off Horace asap was currently her top priority!

Otto - BeachWas he okay? His neck looked terrible, and his voice was so dry and.... Otto couldn't stop crying. Maebe was still unresponsive, and he just felt a drowning sense of guilt grab old of his heart. "No.." He answered Chance, shaking his head furiously. "I'm not okay! This ain't okay. None of it!"

A man did not stop his attacking, his attempts at feasting. Teeth burrowed into skin and blood, sweet, irony red ichor ran into his mouth.
More. He wanted more. But this prey was being attacked by others - a man refused to share. A man did not break bread.

No longer sure if he wanted cry out in relief or just cry out in sorrow, he instead just drew in a breath in relief. The anger was gone, the crippling rage was gone. He could breath again. Even though his body was broken in ways he didn't want to begin to think about, the adrenaline seemed to be keeping the pain numbed. The more pressing matters came from another touch, someone grabbed him once more. This time he didnt react out in rage, instead in quiet understanding. Though his body did tense, He was pretty used to dying at this point. Or not. "I know." The hands were not there, but the bruises forming in the shape of hands made breathing, and talking, a struggle. He relaxed, knowing this sounded like normal Mimsy. (Her eyes being their normal shade were more assuring a indicator.) "I don't blame you." "I'm sorry for...." He waved a hand weakly at Robert, insure of how to put the words. "He isnt dead, right?" If quinn could pass out thrice and live, Robert sure as hell could, right? He would have checked himself, but found the numbness starting to wear off. Quinn hp: 10 Virus: 0

Somewhere in the back of all of that, Jack surely appreciated Chel's assistance. Justice was justice, however, and Anders could only do so much. However, the overwhelming desire to fight for his righteous justice was too much to control. He ripped Peyton off of his shirt and threw her away like the trash that she was. She, like many others, needed cleansing. "Get out of the way," he robotically ordered Chel, striding past so that he could bury the sword in the Sun's body. Attacking Peyton for: 6 Jack hp: 37 Status: not so fun protection stuff + sword
