There was movement.
Liquids peeked themself off of the floor and made it’s way to the marking that she had made. And yet, as the mystical passing occurred around her, Madison felt nothing. Her concentration was on the liquid passing through the cups. And despite her efforts, she actually didn’t realize how hard it really was. Because of the difficulty she seemed to be having focused she had them shut; only trying to continue what she needed to do. Her ears twitched slightly as the sound of Jabberwocky moving around in a rather finicky manner. Everything seemed to be happening at once, and this only caused the canine to get rather excited. It seemed that he was already anticipating the best.
Tha-thump.
With that simple sound the rabbit slowly opened her eyes to see that Max’s chest was beginning to move. At first, his breaths were shallow and weak, but his heart was strong and fierce. As though an orchestra’s bass was ready to play. With a tired outreached hand, the man touched the side of her face where she could feel his cool fingers touch her flesh which instantly caused her lips to form a warm welcoming smile.
"You did it."
“Not without your help.” Their smiles were matching as they were both covered in dry blood. It seemed that no matter what they would do to keep themselves clean, the two of them would resemble victims of a warzone. However, there was something different about this scene. It seemed that the both of them may have both faced an element of death on this adventure, but Madison wasn’t as teary eyed as before. True, it seemed that there was joy that he was back but she did not weep.
“It’s good to have you back, Ma-.” At that moment she seemed to be cut off! It seemed that Wocky almost couldn’t hold it in anymore. With no regard for the damaged limb, Wocky hopped onto Max and proceeded to provide what many would call “kisses”. Laughing, Madison reached forward in attempts to move the dog off of Max. However, no matter what she did the beast only seemed to be pleased to see that the Shadow was indeed alive.
“Wocky, come on boy! Get down!” She couldn’t help to laugh as she tried her best to make sure that he wasn’t hitting the arm, which knowing her luck wasn’t happening. Finally, with a final tug she managed to pull Jabberwocky off of him on to hear him bark loudly and run about in excitement. Laughing, she shook her head and looked back and moved closer to Max’s shoulder in order to get a full examination. However, before she could even, his hands slid into hers which made her freeze.
"Thank you...you saved my life."
"You are welcome, Max. But really... this is the second time this has happened we need to stop doing this!” Madison gave Max a stern look as similar to a parent disciplining their child after witnessing them trying to take another cookie from the cookie jar that was placed above the fridge. Her words weren’t harsh, but rather gentle and sincere as she spoke. After all, if he had fallen and hurt himself, she would have never forgiven herself.
"You can keep this. You've earned it.”
Wide eyed Madison moved her hands from his lap and took a closer look at the paint brush. She was practically in awe over it. There was so much behind this simple object that it was hard to say what else she could do with it. Stopping for a moment, she looked back up at him and than back at the cylinder container.
“Thank you...” Peering over the edge of her glasses she looked at his kind face. Madison seemed to doubt herself a bit more than she ever did. Why did she deserve such a gift as this? It had so much power, and she was well her. Madison wasn’t a hero, she wasn’t even the villain, and many really couldn’t say that she wasn’t either normal or anything extraordinary. Madison was nothing more than a rabbit girl now given another incredible gift by a rather incredible individual. Cherishing it however, the rabbit slowly moved her right leg up and tucked the pen inside the lip of her right smiling boot.
“But...I feel I owe you an apology...something...has happened."
Instantly, her face shot up and her Crimson eyes looked nothing more than puzzled. A lot had happened during their adventure now from slaying zombies, two deaths, cannibalistic hillbillies, Wocky, falling through an apartment building, resurrecting one another from uncertain death, having to jump so high that she could have touched the sky, and even having a light snack. What else was there to add to their adventure? With a serious face, Madison looked at him without a smile on her face.
“What? Did you forget something with the lady you were talking too?” Madison actually sound a bit concerned over this, she may have not have known the whole conversation or even any of it. But she did hear the word –she-. A small sent of guilt filled the rabbit as she could only imagine all of the things that she had done to interrupt their time together.

“Not without your help.” She wasnt crying, he was expecting her to cry. And yet, deep inside he found his smile widening at the realization of just how much the woman had grown in just the past few hours. He was going to correct her, he was going to explain. But, guilt hit him deep in his core. All he could do was hold his smile.
“It’s good to have you back, Ma-.” And then he was attacked! Whatever guilt lingered was washed away by laughs, smiles, and him playfully pushing the shadow dog away from his face without actually ever pushing him away. He was very thankful the dog did not need to eat...and thusly did not have the infamous dog breath. But slobber he did, and he did so thoroughly, even through it Maximos chuckled and ruffled the side of his muzzle. "Its good to see you too boy."
“Wocky, come on boy! Get down!” He couldnt help but laugh at Madison's attempts to tame her wildly excited pet. There were some bumps, grazes, and outright steps onto his arm but refreshed as he was Maximos managed to swallow back anything more than a wince pulling at the edges of his smile and making him squint slightly. The bullet wounds did not bleed again, and then when the moment began to settled, it was back to business.
"Thank you...you saved my life."
"You are welcome, Max. But really... this is the second time this has happened we need to stop doing this!” Max raised his right hand like a would-be political candidate swearing an oath, then adopted the tone of a reprimanded child and said.
"I'll be on my best behavior from now on. I swear it." At which point he gifted Madison the paintbrush.
And despite her sincere, “Thank you...”, Maximos knew fully she had no idea what this meant. His smile didnt quite reach his ears anymore. In some places on Aria, what he was about to say had been a death sentence. In others, a blessing. There was no telling where in between Madison would fall, but he knew the weight of it should never have been hers to bear. He saw doubt on her face, and wondered if her natural instincts had not warned her. He could have kept silent, and let a gift or a curse go to waste. But then...he could not. And spurred on by the duty placed soley on his shoulders he spoke. “But...I feel I owe you an apology...something...has happened."
She was confused, Maximos decided not to rush the moment. Let the realizations come as they may. He tried his very best to steal the edge off of what was to come by leaving a small simple smile on his face as he let her speak. “What? Did you forget something with the lady you were talking too?”
"No, no." Maximos said, shaking his head slowly side to side. "She is and old...friend of mine. You'll meet her eventually. She borrows alot, but what she takes she always keeps, that would be nothing to worry about. No...this is something more serious..."
Pain, flashed through him, from his shoulder across his back and even to the fingertips of the opposite arm. He was moving, and slowly, turning to face Madison properly and tuck his legs beneath himself. He held his right hand over his left shoulder and shut his eyes for a moment. There was silence. Shadow was everywhere, in the room, in his blood in the essence still lingering from Madison's spell. He called upon it, performing a small shadowcrafting which marked its completion with a dry pop. The muscles were shredded the bones were useless, but if shadow did anything it was mimic, and mimic a functioning shoulder it would. Without any other concerns he could hold the crafting for a bit longer and use his arm. And he did, placing both arms in his lap. He took a deep breath and then began.
"Let me first say, I did not know that spell would work. That brush, Madison, has no power of its own." He gave a pause for that to sink, and then continued.
"Earlier today, you said you had a weird dream. You mentioned a little boy. And I...took a chance. You see, the Shadowfather can reach people through with his Priests, Priestess, or Paladin's. The Priest, Priestess, or Paladin partakes of a small portion of an individuals life force, their soul, and offers it to him, and the channel is opened. Through those channels he may visit on those people dreams. Or nightmares. But..." Maximos paused, and moved his finger instinctively to slide glasses up the bridge of his nose. But he wasnt wearing any. "...The Shadowfather is generous. This channel goes both ways, those which he may visit may in turn tap into his power and perform his magic...those people are called the Noxfelis. Or in your language, the Shadowtouched."
Maximos gestured to the ground, waving his hand gently over it. Where the blood once was, now small specks ignited forming a dusty version the spell circle the rabbit created. "...This is a Lunaic spell circle. Lunaic is the language of shadow. It is the magic of the Shadowfather. And with that brush you wielded it flawlessly."
Maximos reached both of his hands forward aiming to scoop up the woman's smaller hands in his, his mismatched eyes sought hers and hoped to find understanding as he dropped the final piece of the puzzle. "You, Madison, are Shadowtouched. A connection is open between you, and the Father of Shadow and Lord of Nightmare, Nocturne. With it, he may reach your dreams. But..."
He slipped his hand free, flicked his wrist and in a flourish produced another black paint brush. "...with this, and with a bit a training, a bit of practice, and a bit of reading, you could potentially learn to do everything you have seen me do here tonight. Even make Jabberwocky...and more." He paused, his eyes rolling up and to the right, searching before he smirked and said. "...except the sword fighting."
But then it was back to seriousness, his lips pressed together in a thin flat line, his other hand moved to retract itself. He switched his footing so that he was on one knee with his head bowed and then as formally and properly as any knight should, he said. "Or...you could be furiously upset that your normalcy and privacy has been invaded by a dark god at which point I am truly at the mercy of whatever vengeance you feel is just."

"No, no." Maximos said, shaking his head slowly side to side. "She is and old...friend of mine. You'll meet her eventually. She borrows alot, but what she takes she always keeps, that would be nothing to worry about. No...this is something more serious..."
And then the curtain of confusion seemed to be revealed as Max began to unveil the great mystery behind what has been going on. Now the tone he was using was quite exactly the most pleasant, in fact the tone of seriousness caused her heart to skip a beat. His movements were almost solemn and yet his shoulder was working fine. Or at least with that’s what his movements seemed to suggest, and that made her smile rather widely with pride. She had fixed him! Her! Madison! However, her smile faded as soon as the deep breath left his lips.
This was more serious than she thought.
"Let me first say, I did not know that spell would work. That brush, Madison, has no power of its own."
Than he paused.
Madison thought for a moment as the words lingered in her head. And then she realized that didn’t really make sense. Afterall, Max did say that she was doing magic which could only mean that the paintbrush had the source. Cocking her head to the side for a moment the rabbit blinked about three times in attempts to understand what he meant. Finally after a moment to allow the knowledge and the baffling questions to begin to fill her mind he continued.
But...The Shadowfather is generous. This channel goes both ways, those which he may visit may in turn tap into his power and perform his magic...those people are called the Noxfelis. Or in your language, the Shadowtouched."
He than slowly gestured to the ground to where her scribbles that had been made earlier. They practically resembled relics that were left overtime even though they were a few moments ago. As Madi’s eyes fell on them she than looked back at him curiously, he seemed to know far too much of that small boy, and it was quite frankly making her feel rather ill. Was that boy she was dealing with in the abandoned school really a God?
"...This is a Lunaic spell circle. Lunaic is the language of shadow. It is the magic of the Shadowfather. And with that brush you wielded it flawlessly."
Stopping, the rabbit looked down at the paintbrush again and was slowly beginning to piece everything together. Although, she may have been one step behind the conversation slightly, she was slowly catching up. Slowly, she witnessed her hands being grasped by another set of pale hands. A smile formed on her face as she was still looking at the paintbrush.
"You, Madison, are Shadowtouched. A connection is open between you, and the Father of Shadow and Lord of Nightmare, Nocturne. With it, he may reach your dreams. "
Instantly Madison’s face shot up and she managed to make eye contact with The Shadow Man. For some reason with the sight of his mismatched eyes, her fear faded as she looked at him. Maximos seemed to have an understanding about this, and he was trusting her with this. What she did know was the fact that she was given a gift, and she that she was rather good at whatever it was that she did earlier. A small smile filled her face, there was still a lot of things for her to try and understand still, but knowing with Max there. It was going to be okay.
Moving his hand he quickly flicked his wrist about to produce yet another black paintbrush. Madison’s eyes fallowed it slowly as her ears twitched while the explanation continued.
"...with this, and with a bit a training, a bit of practice, and a bit of reading, you could potentially learn to do everything you have seen me do here tonight. Even make Jabberwocky...and more."
...I could be as strong as Max?
That thought almost seemed baffling as the words passed through her ears. For her entirely life, Madison hadn’t really been anything to do anything magnificent asides from what she considered what was within her nature. Or at least she didn’t view it as that spectacular. But now, she was given a chance to actually be able to stand a chance in defending herself.
"...except the sword fighting."
With a small giggle Madison quickly covered her mouth as she didn’t want to interrupt his lessons. His face soon fell to a flat line as he moved to a rather noble position as though to beg forgiveness to a member of royalty.
"Or...you could be furiously upset that your normalcy and privacy has been invaded by a dark god at which point I am truly at the mercy of whatever vengeance you feel is just."
Reaching forwards, the rabbit grabbed onto his chin lightly and caused him to look back up at her. She didn’t seem all that angry. Madison was smiling as she was still finding the joke hilarious. And yet her eyes on showed understanding about the situation that she was in. Despite his fear of her being upset, she only seemed more welcoming to learn more about being Shadowtouched.
“Is...Nocturne scary at all? Being the Lord of Nightmare and all...” She had only met him once, and he did seem rather pleasant during their short period together. However, she had never actually dealt with a God before. And with the title of being the Lord of Nightmares and Father of Shadow, there was no telling what they actually could be But either way, her question only reflect her interest within the new element that was handed to her.

Maximos head lift with her gentle motion, and yet his eyes did not. Mismatched black and white pupils stood focused on the dusty and broken ground. If she had known...Nocturne was a name here, but he was a curse in his home. She didnt understand. Or maybe she did, and Maximos was too much of a coward to look at her face and see it. Mercy, just like that?
“Is...Nocturne scary at all? Being the Lord of Nightmare and all...” And yet there it was. In the place of insult, accusation and vengeance, Madison only had curiosity. Maximos' eyes rolled slowly up from the ground to meet hers squarely and yet kindly. A smile stretched slowly across his face, pulling the corners of his mouth up in a slight curve. He took a soft breath, and then almost as excited as she was to ask, Maximos answered.
"Yes. He is. He knows and embodies your greatest fears. Every single one, until you fear nothing. And he will use those fears as he sees fit for whatever purpose he desires. Even, simply for his own amusement." And yet Maximos was smiling. There was no need to kneel so formally now, so the Shadow's posture loosened a bit. "And yet, he is not cruel. His machinations help and strengthen his followers, through difficulty and struggle."
There was a certain mote of strength in the Shadow's voice as he said the last bit. He even raised his right hand and balled it into a tight fist. The leather of his glove squeaked, and yet underneath that leather lay Lunaic burns charred into his skin, and painful black metal that replaced the bones beneath that. Strength, given through pain. There was a certain degree of pride in his voice as he continued. "It is a cursed sort of love, but it is a love."
His smile quirked just a bit at its edges, and his fist loosened, with a flick of his wrist the paintbrush he had produced for himself moments ago vanished. "He is as kind and caring as the child you encountered in your dream."
Maximos had not seen the dream, or heard of its details. But, he knew the dark god's style. If Madison had seen the boy then Nocturne had cast himself the child, and the child was a very particular character. It was a lifeline, put forth for the truly terrible nightmares. It was a piece of innocent to anchor ones sanity. And yet... "He is also as terrifying as everything else you faced in the very same dream."
Maximos rolled backwards, so he was sitting on his rear and folded his legs in front of himself, still facing Madison. He smirked. "So I suppose, in direct answer to your question...yes, he is. But how scary is entirely up to you."

He seemed to be embarrassed about this at first as Max almost refused to make eye contact with her. But instantly, as soon as they did manage to meet the smile returned. He was almost as excited to answer her as he was about to unveil the deepest darkest secret of the universe, and she was lucky enough to get to hear all about it.
"Yes. He is. He knows and embodies your greatest fears. Every single one, until you fear nothing. And he will use those fears as he sees fit for whatever purpose he desires. Even, simply for his own amusement." . Well that really wasn’t the kind of answer she was looking for. Could really someone be that terrible to cause others pain for their own amusement? With a sad look on her face, Madison thought for a moment if her gift was really all that wonderful as Max said it was. But, his smile didn’t seem to fade to sadness like hers did. Instead, he was cheerful and pleasant as he loosened his kneeling position.
"And yet, he is not cruel. His machinations help and strengthen his followers, through difficulty and struggle."
With a swift movement of his hand, he managed to raise it up slightly and caused the leather to squeak. Madison cocked her head slowly and leaned slightly forward to examine what was so special about his hand now. Did something happen to it that she wasn’t entirely aware of, or perhaps it was a weird metaphor for strength. But once he began to continue his sentence, the rabbit fell back on her legs and continued to listen to his tale.
"It is a cursed sort of love, but it is a love. He is as kind and caring as the child you encountered in your dream. He is also as terrifying as everything else you faced in the very same dream. "
And than...it hit her just as quickly as he made the pen vanish before her eyes. If there was one thing that the rabbit understood well it was pain, but she never ever received anything in return from the inflictor. But this was different, with every injury that he may provide, in return she was allowed the honour to use his will and his power. Everything he would do would make her stronger.
The mere thought of the strength that could redeem began to make her mind panic. There was no way that she would even be able to cope with this. Deep down, the rabbit really wasn’t sure if she had the ability to even survive such a terror, but than she caught a glimpse of Max’s cheerful disposition. Clearly, if this being was important to the Shadow, than it must be worth it in the end. Madison trusted Max just as much as he trusted her. And maybe in the end, one day she would even be able to be as strong as he.
"So I suppose, in direct answer to your question...yes, he is. But how scary is entirely up to you."
“Well, despite how scary he maybe, at some point I will thank him for his blessing.” Her mouth widened into a rather large smile as she than reached behind Max and grabbed a hold of her red jacket. Despite her valiant efforts to give him a rest for his body it really didn’t seem to work that well. But really it was the thought that counted. Quietly, the rabbit stood to her feet and dusted herself off causing a great deal of dried blood off of her clothing. She was absolutely filthy, yet again! Laughing slightly she than looked down at the man on the ground and offered her hand to him happily. She seemed to be rather pleased despite all of the upsetting information that he may have provided her with. However the laughing soon ceased as one of her stained ears landed within eyesight. There before her, a small gash was against the side where the bullet had managed grazed. It hurt a bit still, but that wasn’t going to be the same anymore.
“Come on, we better go looking for those files before we get more company.” Madison shook her head to cause her ears to sit back up on her head. Regaining her smile, the rabbit nodded back to indicate to the mess that she managed to leave behind. It seemed that Jabberwocky and her had made quite a mess of their opponents, but there was no telling how much longer the silence was going to last before someone decided to have another rumble, which the two of them really couldn’t afford as Madison was really out of readymade bandage material unless she continued her articles of clothing. And that was definitely extremely unladylike.

Maximos watched and listened while he spoke. His expression never turned grim and his tone never slipped into anything beyond cheer. For Maximos, the negativity associated with Nocturne had become common place. It was so much so a part of his daily life that it had moved from a curse, to a chosen blessing, and now to a title. Paladin. Sword and hand of the Shadowfather. As it stood, the shadow could only see the good it had given his life.
But, it was not always so, and so he completely understood the darkness shrouding Madison's features. It was fear and doubt, which wrestled beside possibility and potential. The bad beside the good. His right eye gently slid from a dull hue to a bolder more prominent white. She was indecisive and confused, as should be expected. And while a part of him felt guilt for inflicting this on her, another part of him foresaw it melding perfectly with the new twist in her persona. And then, over the confusion came a declaration. He saw the emotion before he heard her words.
“Well, despite how scary he maybe, at some point I will thank him for his blessing.” Maximos simply nodded, and smiled. She had decided to save the issue for later, and that was understandable. But Maximos wondered, if while she thought on it, it wasnt better if she had a better image of what she was thinking about.
She leaned forward and past him, and recognizing what she was after he said, "Oh! My apologies for the stains and thank you."
And then turned and scooped the jacket up and offered it to her properly. They were both absolutely messy and not just moments after getting all fixed up. It was laughably hilarious. She offered him her hand, and the Shadow cordially accepted. He was feeling much better, but as his good arm slipped into her grip he used what strength she could offer to roll onto his feet and into a stand.
But, he didnt let go of her hand.
“Come on, we better go looking for those files before we get more company.” She said, and without skipping a beat Maximos responded. His reply phrased so close to hers it might as well have been the period on her sentence.
"Madison" , he said, squeezing her hand softly. She was absolutely ready to rush off to the next destination, but before she let this simmer Maximos had to be sure everything was set right. With any luck, he had gained her attention, but if not he was not moving or releasing her hand until he had finished speaking. "I know this is all very exciting, and its likely also very scary. All alone with weird magics, when you probably know very little of anything magical at all."
"Dreams, nightmares, gods, and spells", he smirked. "Its like a whole new world you've been mercilessly flung into. And by Noct, you dont even know your own name yet. But..."
Maximos was still holding her hand, he lift it just slightly and squeezed it softly again so as to bring attention to it. "...your not alone. I've been through this once already. And I'll be right here through it again, if you like, just like...this."
He squeezed her hand again. A softly chuckle as the Shadow again moved to adjust slide glasses up the brim of his nose that he simply was no wearing at the moment. "What I'm trying to say is, if and when we survive this...I can teach you...if you like."
He had given her his business card earlier. He had no idea she couldnt read the text on it. Hopefully she understood what he meant when he finally slipped his hand from hers and said. "After all, every Magician needs an apprentice, right?"

Well, that was a relief, she’d been afraid there’d be a whole laundry - grocery? - list of specific body parts expected. But then again, what kind of self-respecting adventurer would put themselves through a wild goose chase like that? Good to know they were use-the-whole-buffalo-zombie kind of folk. Even if they did keep to their formalities.
"Not unless there was a certain weight, or volume of material you wanted brought back," Mat said after some consideration. The thought of trawling her weight in putrid scavenger bait was not a pleasant one, but better unhappy than ignorant. "And...with your assurance that I'll be able to pass through the screening outside Town with my toolkit intact, I think I'll have all I need. I am only afraid this ad might not be convincing enough clearance for Barton's finest, see," she made sure to add pleasantly.
Surely it wasn't ulterior to wish her weapons safe passage as well? They'd be of little use to her, and therefore the temple, confiscated in that pile at custom's gate.

Madison was practically like a school girl. There was so much excitement going on that it was practically mind blowing. Zombies, Nocturne, history, and even a new puppy! Madison was now filled with nothing more than excitement and once grabbing onto Max’s hand she almost began to drag Max off into the room as though she was a little girl leading her friend into the playground. “ Oh! My apologies for the stains and thank you." “Uh-huh, that’s great. Come on let’s go!” With the quick movements that she was trying to make it seemed that Wocky even jumped up from his resting spot on the floor and began to run around them excitedly. Her voice even sounded as though she wasn’t even really listening. Perhaps it was the adrenaline from her earlier injuries, or even the fact that everything was happening way too fast. Whatever it was, Madison was simply ready for an adventure. She had been waiting so long for her answers, and now she was here and she couldn’t wait to see what was a head of her. The only thing was, Madison really wasn’t even considering what dark corners things may fall into. " Madison" With those words Madison came to a halt as the squeeze of his hand against hers was almost like an instant break. Stopping, the rabbit turned to look at him and smiled. She seemed confident, but even with her grin it was easy to see something through her eyes. Yes, there was excitement that seemed to be the only thing that was pulsing through her. But deep down, past everything, Madison was truly terrified. There was so much that she didn’t understand right now that was being handed to her from every direction, and one only fears what they did not understand. " I know this is all very exciting, and its likely also very scary. All alone with weird magics, when you probably know very little of anything magical at all. Dreams, nightmares, gods, and spells. Its like a whole new world you've been mercilessly flung into. And by Noct, you dont even know your own name yet. But..." Tightly, Max was holding onto her hand and yet, Madison wasn’t fighting to let go. For some reason, despite how fearful the Shadow man may have been to other people. To her, he almost made her feel safe when she was standing alone on the edge. " ...your not alone. I've been through this once already. And I'll be right here through it again, if you like, just like...this." Madison lips moved slightly as it looked almost as though she was biting them nervously. These words were very powerful, even though they were very quiet and small. The rabbit didn’t really know what there was even to say, but really there was no need too. Her smile constantly remained the same from even the first time they had ever met to when Madison had ran into him during HoH. However, even though there was consistency there was a slight difference. Through the silence, there was only one word being said. Thank you. With another squeeze the man began to chuckle again as he adjusted his glasses. Cocking her head to the side Madison continued to look at him; did she miss a funny joke or something? Still holding onto his hand she swung it slightly back in forth almost in a childish manner. She too even began to giggle slightly as they sat in the wavering silence. " What I'm trying to say is, if and when we survive this...I can teach you...if you like. After all, every Magician needs an apprentice, right? " The swinging stopped and Madison almost looked shocked at him. Did he honestly just say what she thought? Without even realizing it, his hand slowly moved from hers. She almost seemed in shocked that he was even offering it to her. “I would be honoured if you could teach me!” She said it within an instant of his words coming out. With both hands free, she jumped forward and tossed her hands around his neck. It seemed that she was full of excitement and joy. But really there was more to this. Madison was showing her gratitude the best way she could, as the amount she had for him she didn’t know how to express it. “Thank you Maximos.” Her words were faint, almost a whisper but they were still there. She held on for quite a bit longer, as though she never wanted to let get. Through all of the pain and anguish that Madison had went through... Max was definitely the home to her homeless heart.

"Compiling enough to make a complete body is not necessary, if such worries you," Kasumi easily replied. "Skulls and other larger, recognizable parts are recommended, as it gives us more to work with, but one can only do what one can do. If you find yourself burdened, then we will take all you have to offer."
The screening...?
"Ah!" She blinked, as she had very clearly forgotten. "Yes, we already have a scroll that indicates that you are working for us. That should allow you to complete your task with little problem, with your entire toolkit."
She turned to one of the accompanying monks. "If you would, Rongo...?" The man nodded and turned away, heading back to the centermost building.
Kasumi returned her attention to Matana, smiling softly. "I apologize... as I said, I hadn't really expected that the ad in the paper would work well, but I'm glad that we agreed to it.
The monk was rather quick about going back and forth; perhaps twenty or so seconds passed before he was already back, a rolled scroll in his grip. The item was given to Kasumi, and Kasumi moved to approach Matana.
"This should see you well. Feel free to return if you have any difficulty."

(( xd I promise after I play enough SSF4 he'll be back to being dark and mysterious and such. Though if you read what's below, no avatar change is going to save me. )) “I would be honoured if you could teach me!” She said, and all at once this, was an exquisitely beautiful moment to be sure. It was the sort of honest experience that left your chest tight with emotion and forced a smiled onto your face. Absolutely forced, Maximos could do nothing but smile. Happiness surged through him like a second stream of life, and just smiling and seeing her smile wasnt enough! This was the sort of moment that made people jump and sing and dance and...suddenly Maximos' bright smile became something of a smirk. “Thank you Maximos.” Madison said, and almost as fast Maximos' face immediately dropped into a theatric upturned curve. His hands moved to his hips and his head hung low shook back and forth in evident disapproval. " Dont say thank you so quick." Maximos said, frown slowly crept up into a wry grin, as his right hand rose with its index finger and thumb touching. " Madison, I dont think you quite realize what you've got here." Snap. The modified office chair from earlier slipped into place of its own accord. Evenly and unexpectedly swooping in behind Madison with enough force to knock her off her feat and into the seat, but without doing any real harm or causing any serious discomfort. And was that music? There was no one else here, and no instruments in view but music was most definitely playing in the background. Was that jazz? " So why dont you just ruminate, whilst I illuminate...the possibilities." Snap. The lights when off. Considering the moonlight was the only source of light in the room, having it vanish was a somewhat disturbing thing. What came next were flashes and glimmers of light as Madison found herself surrounded by what she might recognize as blades, wielded by hands. Though each blade, each hand, and each person was identifiable only by flashes and sheens of where and unseen light reflected off their clothing or faces. They grew closer...and closer, weapons raised to strike. " Well, Alibaba had them forty thieves." Snap. Poof! The lights went on, a stage light surrounding a one Maximos Lucillien Dark who was sitting on the edge of a police officers desk with a large scroll in his hand that ran all the way down to his feet, across and around the desk and and then around Madison's feet. Maximos had a pen in his hand and appeared to be casually writing, until he looked up over the brim of his glasses at Madison with a smirk and turned the scroll to face her. It was, covered all the way down its length in illegible text and swirls and lines akin to the markings she herself had drawn earlier. " Scheherezad-ie had a thousand tales!" Poof! In a cloud of bruise purple and blue smoke the scroll vanished, and Maximos kicked off the desk to slide in beside the rabbit's office chair. Gliding through the armed men and landing beside the rabbit. " But Madison your in luck 'cause up your sleeves--" With a flourish Maximos reached into his sleeve and produced his paintbrush, and immediately began slashing and lashing it across the open air leaving streaks of bright lavender in its wake and forming shapes and symbols that stained the air as they might paper " --You gotta brand of magic never fails!" With a swipe of his arm Maximos spun Madison's chair dizzingly then stopped it suddenly so that it faced all forty armed men with Madison somehow placed behind the magical array and Maximos yet still behind her. " You've got some power in your corner now." He slipped his arms forward over her shoulders, grabbing both her wrists and brought them up in a boxers defensive position in front of her face. The magical symbols snapped into action stretching out like art drawn on flexible plastic and wrapping around Madison's fists. They never touched her pale skin, but hovered like some sort of dis-attached tattoo, glowing and whirling with unearthly arcana. The forty men rushed the small girl in her office chair. All forty a wall of flesh and and steel and malicious intent. " Some heavy ammunition in your camp!" " You've got some punch!" And Maximos snapped Madison's hands forward mimicking a double punch. There was a sizzle and a pop, and a bolt of violet and blue burst off the rabbits fist and flew at her attacker. And then, as it struck them instantly exploded into a shower of plum colored lights and explosions in the dark. "Pizazz!"
All forty men were down, laid out and unmoving on the floor. "Yahoo! And how?"
Maximos' hands pressed his hand into hers leaving a black paintbrush in her grip, and then guided her hand to make a flourish in the air and then sung, yes sung. "See all you gotta do is write like tha~t!"
And then with a woosh she was spinning again, the chair twirling like a top as the brush placed in her hand drew one long and now incredibly spiraled line around and around and around. And then stopped, as Maximos snagged the glowing stream of glow, and halted the whirlwind, "And I'll say..."
With a jerk of his wrist he tore a sheet of the purple stuff away like one might tear a roll of paper towel and then the he tugged both corners of the long length of glow the rabbit had accidentally produced, flipped his brush in his hand, and then held the glowing length of magic as if it were a sheet of paper and said. "Miss' Madison ma'am, what will your pleasure be?"
He made a few scribbles on the purple sheet in his hand. "Let me take your order."
A few more scribbles. "Jot it down."
Then he reached out, grabbed the floating end of the floating glowing line and smirking ear to ear said. "You aint never had a friend like me."
"No no no!" And then tore glowing indigo stream like a rip chord from the chair sent Madison swirling the opposite direction in a dizzying blur as the line unwound and vanished from view leaving the chair to glide and cyclone recklessly. And then thump, the chair thudded against a table. Thankfully the chairs arms hit first (even if they had to stretch to do so) protecting Madison's belly or feet and leaving her sitting at what was very clearly another police officer's desk. Only, this desk had been covered with a checkered purple and white sheet, and Maximos was standing beside and beside her with an apron on, and a note pad in hand, and a wide smile stretching from ear to ear. "Life is your restaurant, and I'm your maitre d'!"
He leaned in real close, close enough to smell the scent of bath soap that seemed to always permeate him no matter what. "C'mon whisper what it is you want. You aint never had a friend like me!"
Floosh! The table cloth tore up, covering Madison's world in purple and white squares. Just as fast, something tore her backwards several feet. The table cloth fell, and much like a chess board small pieces jumped out of the squares on the board. Men, woman, knights, and other chess pieces scurried over to her, grabbing her feet, hopping up on her lap. Maximos slid in gracefully beside her. "Yes ma'am, we pride ourselves on service."
Snap! A tuft of plum and pink and her feet were lifted by knee high knights and placed on a foot stool being slid into place. "Your the boss!"
Snap! The chess queen reached forward and placed a long scepter in Madison's hands. "The queen!"
Snap! A few pawns raced up her shoulders and lay a black metal crown on her head. "The shah!"
"Say what you wish, its yours. True dish!" Bishops carried a serving tray and held it in front of Madison with several plates, cups and a plate holding some sort of square steaming pastry cut into a cubes. "How 'bout a little more Baklavaaa~!"
Poof It was all gone, chess board, pieces and food. Madison's legs hit the ground with an unceremonious thump. With an explosion of a blue and black Maximos appeared in front her. He had two books on one desk sitting side by side. He smacked his paintbrush to one book, and it rocketed skyward revealing a massive tower of books beneath it. Each book had a title with the word "Lunaic" in it. Elementary Lunaic. Lunaic Summon. Lunaic Crafting. "Try some of column A!"
Maximos' paintbrush smacked the second book causing a similar effect and creating an even bigger tower. Every book in this tower was old, older than Madison had likely ever seen. They were written in something illegible and showered dust like snowflakes in a blizzard. "Try all of column B!"
With fluid grace the Shadow leapt forward between both ridiculously tall columns and landed nimbly in front of the desk. "I'm in the mood to help you dude!"
BOOM! Both columns smashed through the desk, and then through the floor, kicking up a shower of debris, pages, dust, and pieces of flooring that all fell around and beside Maximos without ever actually touched him. The Shadow smirked, winked, and pointed squarely at Madison. "You aint never had a friend like me."
At which point Maximos began dancing, rather skillfully to the music being played by Nocturne only knew what. He used his sword as a cane and waltzed one way, toward what appeared to be a very angry zombie. The zombie groaned, surprisingly in beat with the music. "Oh my!"
Maximos waltzed the opposite direction. Another zombie! This one still held its last donut in hand even though it seemed unable to eat it. It groaned...strangely in cue again. "No no!"
He danced the opposite direction but the undead pressed closer and seemed intent on ruining his show. One drew a gun, and aimed it lazily. "My, my, my..."
What followed were neither words, nor sound effects, but the sound of a sword whistling as it sliced cleanly and evenly through the air. Maximos spun left, his arm gliding through lightning fast motions without ever losing time with the music. He leaned right, and the sword seemed to sing as it moved, and then the spot light on the shadow fell black leaving the room pitch, but anything but quiet.
"Can your friends do this?" Snap!Poof! In a cloud of black dust and indigo sparks, Maximos appeared and held in his hands Madison's top hat. It was completely new and untouched. He flipped it between his hands, and immediately shoved his arm inside of it.
"Can your friends do that?" His arm was gone. All the way to the shoulder, the hat simply sat on the ball of muscle that was his shoulder with no visible arm. Even though his arm should have extended a few feet past the bottom of the hat.
"Can your friends pull this--" Maximos' arm wretched backwards, and held securely in his right arm was a horn. A horn which belonged to a massive head, which was attached to a plum purple body which immediately filled almost the entire room leaving Madison's new hat on the ground in front of it. It was a dragon, full sized and angry. The feat was nothing short of pulling an elephant from a thimble. "--out there little haaaa~t?!"
The dragon was furious, its massive claws smashed into the ground as it spun to face the tiny Shadow beside it. Its teeth snarling and vicious. Its eyes glowing with unearthly fire even as gouts and streams of spoke rolled up from its. Maximos whirled his paintbrush like a baton...."Can your friends go--"
The paintbrush touched the dragon squarely on the tip of its nose and, Poof!. Its entire massive form became a cloud of purple, blue, and black, and as the cloud cleared Maximos was holding his paintbrush even with the nose of a small and very angry looking purple rabbit. "Well looky here."
The rabbit opened its mouth, but Maximos immediately scooped it up by the scruff of its neck, and pressed his paintbrush to its muzzle. The rabbits face twitched, its eyes slanted and then its mouth opened as wide as it could. "Can your friends go, abracadabra---"
Maximos quickly pulled the paintbrush away, "Let her rip!"
And the little rabbit breathed an enormous rolling gout of purple flame that rushed across the space between the Shadow and Madison, engulfing the whole enclosure, but then faded and slowly vanished before its heat could actually burn the woman. And in the wake of the flame, not several feet away, but right in front of her was Maximos holding only her top hat in hand and no bunnies of any sort or dragons. "And then make the sucker disappeee~ar!"
The brim of the bunny girls hat rest evenly between Maximos' hands, and with a flick of his wrists the hat spun like a top. "So dontya sit there slack jawed, or buggy eyed. I'm here to answer all your midnight prayers."
With a flop the hat was tossed and landed evenly on her head. As it did, Maximos reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out another business card, which as the previous one read. "Magician Lucillien Dark" and in the corner had a small stamp that read "Shadowfather Certified. "You got me bona fide, certified!"
Poof! The card vanished. "You got a Shadow for your chare d'affaires!"
Maximos slid around behind Madison's chair, never missing a note. "I've got a powerful urge, to help you out!"
His hands fell down on her shoulders as he leaned over the chair back. "So whats your wish, I really want to know!"
Snap! A scroll landed in her lap and quickly spilled down over her legs rolling off and out into the darkness and probably way far beyond that. "You've got a list thats three miles long, no doubt!"
And Maximos reached around, slipped her brush from her boot and placed it in her hand and using her hand scribbled a few symbols on the sheet. "And all you gotta do is write like so, --and oooh."
The sheet ignited like flash paper and in its dying curls of smoke where images of cookies, carrots, and other yummy things that Madison might recognize. Not heart's desires so much as, momentary pleasures. Madison alone would see them, as it was her hand that held the brush, not Max. The image was hazy, lasting only a few seconds even though it seemed to stretch for an eternity. And then it was broken as Maximos whipped her chair around again, his boot landing squarely on the edge of her seat.
"Miss' Madison ma'am! Have a wish or two or three! I'm on the job!" Kick! His foot lashed out and sent the chair gliding backwards. A light shined from behind Maximos and cast his shadow long in front of him, and it was in that shadow that Madison rolled with shapes and arms reaching out from that shadow's frame. "You big nabob!"
"You ain't never had a friend--" Maximos pointed at either walls of the station and the shadows peeled from the walls and broke into immediately dance. "--never had a friend!"
"You ain't never had a friend--" He snapped both fingers and Madison came to a sudden halt as the chess men and woman caught her chair at the apex of Maximos' shadow and then immediately broke into dance. "--never had a friend!"
"You ain't never!" Maximos' arms snapped out to both sides, flickers and sparks of violet and indigo racing down either of his sleaves and exploding out from his palms. A hulking figure zoomed into view behind him. Its eyes were burning purple, its wings were just silhouette, as were its claws, and the outline of its fanged grin as it filled with flame.
"Had a!" BOOM The dragon exploded behind Maximos into a wave of small figures, they would be hard to recognized at first until they poured over and down and across the ground. Hundreds of purple bunnies, rushing across the floor toward Madison ignoring the dancing shadows and chess peoples.
"Friend!" His arms dropped to his sides, and a huge slit opened in the darkness even with this feet. And then, as he broke into the final note his arms rose and the sheet of darkness rose with it, like some impossibly huge curtain elevating steady with his arms. Light flooded in beneath him, making every shiny surface and every previously blackened crevice glow. "Liiiiiiii~ike meeeeeeee!"
Poof! His arms shot upwards, casting away all of the black and leaving the moonlight to pour into the station as easily as it did before the performance began. The transition from no light, to light so fast was blinding to some. And in that moment of blindness everything vanished.
And then as her vision evened, Maximos was standing with his top hat bowed slightly, his hand gently holding Madison's and bowing before her with a smile stretching all the way across his face. "You ain't never had a friend like me."
At which point somewhere around several dozen zombies burst through the front doors of the station drawn by the exceedingly large amount of noise, and charged. "RAH!"

There were possibly no words that could have described what Madison had witnessed just moments ago. Their moment of tenderness seemed to have disappeared as the rabbit witnessed a song and dance from a man who she had witnessed visit death and be reborn into this. Apparently, this is what happens when you are resurrected... Madison wasn’t even sure if everything she saw was real. There was music, chess pieces, books, zombies, and even a faint image of tasty treats! Despite how life like everything was there was still an element of irregularly and mystery behind it, which seemed to intrigue Madison even more about the paintbrush that she was now holding within her palms. However, thinking about it was proving to be difficult as she was flung around like a ragdoll and there were oh so many distractions! And yet her smile never faded... At least it didn’t till the finale. Maximos was absolutely spectacular! Who knew that he had such a voice and dance moves? But all of the good feelings left as it seemed the two of them were now swamped with zombies. There were at least thirty of them making their way through the front doors. A handful of them seemed to race towards the Shadow Man while some went straight for the rabbit. Five of them managed to try and swamp Jabberwocky and interrupt his chew time with an arm of one of the undead comrades. Before Madison could even scramble to her feet it seemed that it was too late. RAGHGH!
SLAM!
Two of the zombies quickly tackled at the rabbit in attempted to have a bite. Thanks to the support of the chair, the wheels decided to roll back and tipped onto the ground. Smacking her head rather hard into some sort of zombie remains Madison began to flail. She had two zombies sitting on top of her clawing at her flesh as well as trying to bite onto whatever they could get their hands on. The large claw marks caused a searing pain to fill her body with the movement of the nails scraped along her skin. It seemed though that Madison wasn’t going down without a fight though. A few of the undead horde attempted to get a tasty treat from her legs as though that were trying to chop her feet off with their teeth for good luck. But, that really didn’t seem to be such a good idea as once their faces had gotten close, they were met with the unpleasant surprise of having their jaw knocked off. CHOMP.
A loud pain filled scream left Madison’s lips as she felt teeth sinking into her right arm. Yes, it seemed that something had managed to have a taste of what bunny was like. Yes, it may have been considered sweet, but that was enough from the rabbit. “LET GO!” Madison’s call almost sounded as though it was a battle cry as blood began to spray over the general area that she was resting at. Swinging her arm upwards the undead creature’s teeth released causing a shower to sprinkle onto the floor like rain. As she made this motion her knee shot up as though she were kneeing a soccer ball like a professional player, except the one zombie who was one top of her spine was her weapon. With a loud crack and a wail, liquids sprayed onto her own flesh as the spinal cord broke through the chest cavity. It was almost beautiful, it was a massacre. Quietly, the corpse gasped the air as it tumbled to the side. And there was still another few coming her way. Sighing, Madison attempted to get to her feet from the knocked down chair. Her body was growing tired of this countless game of chasing and fighting. But with her pen in hand she took another deep breath in and prepared for the next round of attack as her arm dripped to the floor. Here it goes again.

((if it is ok with you I would like to post here but i dont want to interupt anything. Just let me know if I should delete this and I will.))
Outside their was an explosion as zombie remains flew into the sky. A lugh could be heard as more zombies could be heard letting out their final groans of pain. The laughing was one of glee and excitment, with just a hint of sarcasim. A young man suddenly flew through a window having just kicked off a zombies head with a flying side kick. He landed looked around and let out a chuckle as he started attacking the zombies in the building with his bare hands leaving a trail of remains in his path. He turned to attack what he thought was another zombie but stoped himself and gave a look of surprise at the two individuals who seemed rather alive. A zombie crept up next to him but without looking he simply reached out, grabed the zombie's head, and with a quick tug, removed it from it's body, spine and all.
Ziginz:" You guys....still got a pulse right?'
The man started useing the zombies head and spine like a flail and took down two zombies before the spine broke. He gave the peice of spine in his hand a look of disappointment before throwing it away.
Ziginz:" Low calcium, figures, but still, zombies! What are the freakin chances!? I mean you don't get chances like this very often! I'm freakin estatic over here!"
He notices the bunny girl has been injured and walks over to her to check her injuries, mor eor less ignoring the remaining zombies.

Spells did not grow on trees. Skillfully crafted magic was not something you found out back. That performance took time, work, preparation, practice, and all in exceeding amounts. And only to have its final moments trumped by loud roars, moans, and groping hungry hands. Maximos eye's widened as he turned away from Madison to face the oncoming horde. In the silent seconds of their approach all vestiges of anything even reminiscent of a smile vanished from his face leaving only a stern upside down curve on his lips and sharp violent eyes. And so it was with absolutely no pretense or jest but complete outrage that Maximos firmly declared.
"How dare you?!" And in nothing short of a furious march advanced on the approaching horde. The mindless undead abominations had already waste plenty of good special effects with their unforgivably rude arrival. Maximos would waste nothing more on them or their ilk. He walked with both hands down by his side, fists balled tight. As the first five zombies approached, Maximos lashed out his right hand and his jet black long sword flew wildly into his waiting palm. The long sword was a single solid piece of some sort of obsidian-esque material and reflected the moonlight in flashes of silver along its length as it moved.
"I've had quite enough of your indecencies." Maximos said through gritted teeth as the first of the pack of five lunged forward. The zombie responded with a groan, and made it half way through the sound before the Shadow burst into motion. His right foot led, stomping forward his boot squeaking against the dusty floor tiles. He swung, his slash a fluid thing, the motion starting from his left leg, pushing through to his hips, across his torso and finally into his arms which tore across the remaining space from left to right and divided the walking corpse from its left hip to its right shoulder. Maximos was already moving as its upper torso began to slide along the diagonal separation in its rotted form to eventually flop onto the floor.
"No grace!" Maximos the Shadow said, as he used his moment to swing the sword up, and over his head in a wide ellipse flicking a spray of blood and dried viscera out in all directions before bringing the blade viciously down and across dividing a second zombie cleaning from left to right. Its hips gurgled something wet and yet thick and rancid as its upper half simply fell backwards like a fallen tree leaving its decaying innards exposed. "No class!"
And then the sword came back, slashing in wide arcs, clearing limbs and lunges in graceful sweeps and poignant cuts. It wasnt hard to bat the head off a zombie with the flat of his sword, or slam a single corpse into another and then impale them both and toss them as a road block before their companions to be crushed and trampled. Maximos had no problem dropping low and cutting the legs from under a running rot and then dicing its body into useless bits as he stood up and before it hit the ground. And yet the undead had a single thing on their side, and that was numbers. Hundreds of them could horde a single spot and win simply because the person fighting them had no room to move and no escape. And as it stood, Maximos was being surrounded. Fending one zombie, or two, or even ten was nothing, but if they came at all angles at once...
It was about then he heard Madison scream. Maximos' jaw clenched, his lips pursed in a tight pale line across his face. The moon beamed against the back of his head casting a long shadow over his face and leaving only the soft white glow of his right eye to indicate he even had a face at all. She was hurt. Again. He had failed to protect her. Again.
There was an expression on Maximos' face that was reminiscent of a grin. But only in the way that a grin, or even a smile is nothing more than a social evolution to bearing ones teeth. This was a primal, mirthless grin, cast in stark white by the gleam of the moon, almost giving it a glow against the shadow covering his face.
"Being dead is absolutely no excuse..." Maximos said, in cold and chillingly calm breath, simply lowering his sword to his side as the horde rushed in, all flailing arms, grabbing hands, and gnashing teeth. The leather of his glove squeaked softly. There was a long line of rotting flesh between him and the bunny. He could see that clearly, and then he advanced. Maximos met the crowd of groaning undead and walked through them like a man crossing a crowded market. Shoulders and hips twisting. Bobbing up on his toes to slide between passersby. Turning in a graceful pirouette to avoid stumbling over something on the ground. All the while the moonlight visible around him in lines and curves drawn for a blink in the open. And when he stopped, every one of the carcasses between him and Madison lay on the floor. Each spilling cold globs of lifeless slop onto the floor like rancid meat and juices pouring out of a torn garbage bag. "...for having no dignity."
The Shadow flicked his sword to the side casting off an arch of multicolored bodily fluids and then stepped forward toward the bunny. He was still smiling, though the moonlight no longer cast a shadow over his features. Maximos' mismatched black left eye, and white right eye, met Madison, and then met the sudden newcomer. By all immediate appearances the man did not appear infect, he even appeared to be excited!
And yet, the last living individual that bunny, and the gentleman met had expressed an intense desire to eat them both. And nearly succeeded. It was with that in mind, that Maximos spoke. Not rudely, but infact warmly, smiling all throughout. "Good evening, sir. "
The Shadow said, bowing his head slightly and using his left hand to make a sort of hat tipping gesture, though he currently wore no hat. Maximos' tone was the very epitome of politeness and friendliness. A gentleman, through and through. "Yes, quite the em...exciting, horde out today. And its great to see another survivor and such, but in interest of fair play I have to inform you..."
Maximos brought the spotless black blade up to rest across his shoulders almost lazily. And then, still smiling and still warm of tone he said, "...if your intending to eat my friend there, then I'm afraid I'm going to have to kill you outright, here and now. Nothing personal. You understand dont you?"

However, it seemed before she could even get a chance to respond to the slowly approaching zombies two things happened. First there was a crash coming from the window and something entered, than of course Max did not seem to be all that impressed with the rude entrance that the creatures had made on his solo number. Both of the movements that the men made seemed to almost resemble a synchronized dance, each step and swing matching those of an imaginary beat. Unlike the male counterparts, Madison remained silent and holding onto her arm. Surprisingly enough, it wasn’t as much of a mess of some of her wound prior to their adventure it, but there was indeed quite a bit of damage. With a small amount of blood forming on the top, the area around the wound seemed to burn an angry red that seemed to match her coat that was now partially ripped at the moment. It was clear by a glance that the infected monstrosity had gotten a good chunk of her flesh with one bite as the dark color of muscles were now exposed to the air. And yet, the burning sensation that she was supposed to be feeling seemed to stop as it was nothing more than numb. With her right arm held close to her body and her pen in her left palm Madison began to scoot backwards in attempts to get out of the way. Afterall, if she wasn’t going to be able to help than she better get out of the way at least. Shuffling back she rested up against a filing cabinet and looked over the edge of her glasses. Quickly, she caught sight of something moving close to her. With the amount of chaos in the air she wasn’t even sure if it was human on not, and quite frankly he was coming up so quietly that there was really no telling what it was exactly. For all she knew it was whatever had decided to break one of the windows, but with the amount of debris and carcass material, it was very difficult to even be sure what it was. With a sensation of uneasiness, Madison stayed still with her back pressed against the cabinet. If it was going to attack, she could grab one of the handles and give herself some leverage to use her legs. It wasn’t much, but at least it was some sort of line of defence while Max was dealing with the rest. ARF! Out of nowhere, Jabberwocky finally decided to make his appearance. He was covered in large gashes that seemed to not have any blood itself. Instead it was just as empty as the eye she had damaged on him with her spoon. Instead of being his normal friendly self as Madison had witnessed him before hand, the German Sheppard breed growled fiercely in a rather protective stance. The fur on his back was standing on end as his ears went flat. Something did not sit well with the dog, keeping mind that he had an oath to keep with Maximos on having Madison safe. Plus, human interaction wasn’t exactly something he was used too considering the only human he had ever met had been the shadow and the rabbit. " Good evening, sir. " Jabberwocky’s growls seemed to cease as the sound of Max’s voice left his lips. They sounded warm, but the dog seemed to remain on duty as he stood in the way of the young man and the rabbit. A small sensation of ease filled the air as the words were being spoke, they were almost soothing as now there was nothing really left but blood. However, to the untrained ear it may have sounded polite and warm there was still a small sound of malicious in his voice. Smiles weren’t always as pleasant as one may have thought to have believed. " Yes, quite the em...exciting, horde out today. And its great to see another survivor and such, but in interest of fair play I have to inform you..." Madison than moved down to her arm and began to take a look at her injury. The wound really wasn’t that pretty, but she knew that it could get infected as well. With her left hand, she than moved her black pen back into her boot leg causing her arm to flop downwards. As she did this, a wince filled her face as pain surged through like a lightning bolt. With a deep breath in, the rabbit simple did what she knew. Reaching to one of the zombie arms that had been tossed about the room, Madison ripped off a piece of fabric from the remaining sleeve. It was a little dirty as blood and other unexplainable substances, but it was a lot better than ripping another part of her shirt underneath her jacket as it was soaking in undead remains and blood from Max. It didn’t help that since Madison had been making bandages from the material, there really wasn’t much left. Scrunching up the bandage in her left hand Madison squeezed it tightly to allow some of the juices to drain out. A small collection of green goop dripped in between her fingers. Once ringing it as best as she could with one hand she began to wrap the material around her arm. " ...if your intending to eat my friend there, then I'm afraid I'm going to have to kill you outright, here and now. Nothing personal. You understand dont you?" “There.” Madison finished her knot and smiled as she expected her work. It wasn’t the best job she had done, but there wasn’t really much she could do as she was down to only using one hand at the moment. Maybe if she was lucky, she could learn how to fix her arm with her own craft. But for now, that was an uneasy option for her as her tutor was doing what he did best. He was being a proper gentleman. Following his example, Madison stood to her feet and continued to rest against the cabinet without making a sound, only having her smile on her face. However despite how subtle they may have been, the Shadow Sheppard quickly turned his head which instantly almost resulted in a different behaviour than he was presenting to the stranger. His tail was wagging and his ears shot up excitedly. He didn’t move as he was still being protective, but with a few barks Madison smiled as she was holding onto her injured arm. “Shhhh...Wocky! You are being too loud. We don’t want to interrupt.” Despite her injuries, Madison still was doing her best to be a proper lady and have the canine to follow her example. However, once he turned his head back to facing the stranger he began to growl once again. Manners weren’t in Jabberwocky’s best interests.
