Tate let out a sigh of relief as the Meganium flopped onto the ground. One less problem to worry about for now. But there was still the Crawdaunt. Now that he had a second to think, a thought occurred. "You know that...both our Pokemon can float right?" Tate gestured to Liza and her Lunatone, his eyebrow raised as he studied his challenger's face.
"Yeah, I know." Mike replied, pointing to the hole in front of him and smirking. "He doesn't, though." On that note, the Crawdaunt burst dramatically from the ground and swung full power at Solrock-who just sorta...floated a few inches higher, looking down awkwardly at the foaming lobster. Tate was just as confused as his Pokemon, and looked at the challenger, trying to pick the right tone to address the issue.
"Then...why'd you use it?" the Gym Leader asked, hoping to step around the potential conversational egg shells. He knew that the species could learn other protective moves that would better fit the situation-and that he must have as well-so why did this kid use something that would put his Pokemon out of the fight for so long? Mike shrugged in response.
"It's funny to push his buttons a little." He chuckled, looking over at Kasiya for backup. Admittedly, with all the attitude Xanthos gave him, it was more than a little amusing to watch the pissy lobster stomp back to his spot, slightly embarrassed (but ten times more angry) that his attack was so easily avoided. Tate was blown away by that reply. This kid was completely bonkers! Doing something just to mess with his Pokemon during a gym fight, especially a Crawdaunt? Those Pokemon have been known to just turn on their trainers with little to no provocation! Did he trip into his other battles, bribe the other leaders? Or was he just sending out his weaker Pokemon just to toy with him? If these two ended up losing, was he going to ask for a rematch and send out some insanely powerful Pokemon and just run through both of them by himself? Was his girlfriend just as strong? Did his shadow just move? "Uh, Rock Throw! Hit the Crawdaunt!" In another flash of light, the Meteorite Pokemon spun, loosing a boulder towards Xanthos.
Still furious over his last attack, the Xanthos flat out refused to move. Just one? Was this some sort of joke? Now utterly livid, he glared at the rock as it flew towards his face, and figured 'You know what? It's taking too long to smash into my face', and decided to speed up the process. Xanthos jumped forward towards the rock and slammed his forehead into it, effortlessly shattering the rock into dust. Xanthos smashed his claws on the ground and stomped, hissing and glaring daggers at the boy and inviting him to use something that would actually hurt. His face was all cut up from the stunt, including a chip from the tip of the star ornament on his head. Tate took a step back. They were both nuts!
Mike tapped his hip into Kasiya, nodding at Tate. "It's like I don't even need to try to mess with people anymore." he giggled along with her, having quite a bit of fun. She looked like she was having a blast, which made the whole event even sweeter.

The landscape all around this route was steep and rugged and absolutely littered with rocks of all sizes. It wasn't hard to pick out a good place to do some training, and as Riza put a hand to her belt, she decided to leave Akima, Yula and Diemia in their respective poke balls. Those three were already doing quite well and she didn't think they were in as much need of training as her other three, at least right now. She quickly released Eris, Faustus and Selena and the three younger Pokemon all looked around curiously.
"Listen up," she told them, her voice only half-serious. "We're almost at Pewter City and we've got a gym battle coming up. I'm counting on you three." The Quilava, Dratini and Snivy exchanged glances before looking up at their trainer. All three were focused on her and Riza smiled. "Good, now lets get to it. Eris and Faustus, you guys are gonna battle each other again. Selena, you'll watch for now. See what you can learn from them, okay?" Selena nodded, hopping up on a nearby rock to get a better view. The grass-type was feeling anxious and energetic but she wanted to make her new trainer happy so she did as told. She also wasn't quite sure what a gym was but whatever it was she was going to try her best!
Eris pawed the ground anxiously as she stared down her teammate. She remembered just how tricky the dragon's moves had been and she wasn't about to let him get the better of her this time. Faustus on the other hand wasn't exactly thrilled but he would try his best. He glanced over at Riza who gave a nod, and he decided to make the first move. The Dratini unleashed a dazzling Dragon Rage at the Quilava, the flames tinged with indigo, red and blue. Riza was sure that move alone would never be not useful, especially in future contests and she looked to Eris, wondering how the Quilava would deal with this. The fire-type was proving to be quite clever when she wanted to be as she quickly dug into the ground, escaping harm from Faustus' Dragon Rage. 'Nice,' Riza thought, giving a nod. Atop her rock, Selena watched intently. * * * * * The daycare center was actually pretty nice overall and actually pretty big. The yard was large and seemed to have areas for just about every type of Pokemon imaginable and it was no surprise that Seraphim was immediately drawn to the beautiful flower gardens were she quickly made friends with other grass-types. There were many different kinds of Pokemon running around too, everything from common Bidoof to Marill to a few species that Katie didn't know. Her mood was good enough that she wasn't even annoyed by the Pikachu that came over to investigate her and she even bent down to pet it.
Katie asked questions to draw the tour out and it didn't take long for her to form a good mental map of the place in her mind. The main computer had been back in the office and looked kind of old, and Katie was sure the little device Mai had given her could easily get in, download the data and be removed in a matter of minutes. The hardest part, again, was going to be getting her hands on that egg. "Say, can trainers commission eggs?" she asked as they walked toward a large building that sort of looked like a barn.
"Of course," the daycare lady said, pushing open the door. Katie let out a quiet gasp as the shelves were lined with rows upon rows of Pokemon eggs. She smiled upon seeing the orange haired girl's wide eyed stare. "Was there any Pokemon you were interested in particular?" she asked.
"No, not exactly," Katie said after a moment or so. "Just curious." Overall, she was very impressed with this place and probably wouldn't have a problem leaving one of her Pokemon here if need be, and she thought again of her Buneary and how she must be living it up back at her mother's penthouse. Now that she'd seen where the eggs were stored, the second half of her mission didn't seem so difficult, though she wasn't sure what kind of security the place had. It seemed silly that all those Pokemon eggs would be left unguarded.

"Probably so. Knowing my luck recently I'd hook a gyrados and get pulled into the ocean." That wouldn't end well at all for him since Gyrados were the most bad tempered pokemon known to man. The explosion didn't sit well with him at all, especially after what the professor said about Voltorb not being out in the yard.
He went a little ahead of the professor just in case something was really wrong. In which it was. He found the metapod on its back shaking a bit as it tried to right itself. "Let me help you out little guy." He scooped up the pokemon under one arm and continued onward. Only to round the corner and find two men with the comically large burglar sacks shoveling pokeballs into them.
"...What in the hell do you think you're doing!" Bob and Steve stopped and looked up a little surprised to see the professor and a trainer. In typical rocket style the struck poses as they pulled out pokeballs. "What's it look like kid, we're stealing pokemon! Now you and that old geezer get out of the way or get ready to feel some pain!"

The battle was only a few rounds old so far and it was pretty easy to see that Bird Keeper Rod was quickly losing his composure. It was hard to blame him, however, as the disguised Zorua was proving herself to be quite the nuisance. Jasper's smugness didn't make the situation any better, though the bandanna-clad boy would definitely be lying if he said he wasn't enjoying this. "Give it another Gust," Bird Keeper Rod called, pointing at the fake bug/grass type. "And this time try not to miss!" The tiny bird squawked indignantly, seemingly as annoyed as its trainer was and it flew up, beady eyes glaring down at Zorua with what could only be described as hate as it whipped up a particularly nasty Gust and sent it spiraling toward the fox.
Jasper could tell that one was going to be tricky to avoid, and despite her best attempts the little dark type was caught up in it, her body flashing as her Illusion was broken, though she was still looking healthy enough. Zorua giggled almost hysterically at the Pidgey's confused expression, and even Jasper couldn't hold back a laugh, for poor Bird Keeper Rod looked as though he were about to have a stroke. "Zorua, I think it's time to use Extrasensory," Jasper managed between snorts of laughter. Zorua's bright blues began to glow and she took hold of the Pidgey with her mind, yanking it out of the air and slamming it against the ground. All in all, it was very satisfying. 'Okay, I admit it, this trainer-thing is starting to grow on me,' Jasper thought, still grinning as the bird picked itself back up again.
"Tackle!" Bird Keeper Rod practically screamed, thought at least he now understood why his opponent had been so sure of himself until now. He'd never heard of a Pokemon other than Ditto that could change its form like that and even now he wasn't sure if this was the Pokemon's true form or if they were tricking him again. The tiny bird shot forward like a comet, slamming into Zorua's side. The resulting yelp from the fox seemed to snap Jasper into a sense of seriousness, and he narrowed his eyes. "Extrasensory, one more time," he said calmly. * * * * * * * * * * Cynder's flames were only enough to keep the attacking Beedrill at bay for a short time, as before long they were buzzing forward again. The brave little Charmander stepped up again, blasting another mouthful of hot Embers all over the closest one and it gave a shriek, flailing about almost comically as its body was singed all over. Mya, meanwhile had jumped at the closest death bee to her and was chomping down on one of its arms with a Bite, and try as the Beedrill might, it couldn't seem to shake the little mouse from it. Tisyphone was playing a more defensive game, ducking, dipping and dodging as a pair of Beedrill tried to jab her with their stingers.
"Tiss, you gotta fight back!" Hayley wailed, now practically hiding behind her Snivy, thought the little grass type didn't offer much cover. Ivy was, however, doing a rather fine job of fending off one of the giant bugs with clever snaps of her vines, but the fact that they were outnumbered weighed heavily against them. The Pikachu, meanwhile, sat just out of the action, teeth grit in frustration. It was looking bad, and possibly about to get worse as reinforcements were starting to arrive. The mouse chanced a glance out of her hiding place, ears flattening against her head as she saw that even that stupid snake-thing was fighting back. That settled it; she wouldn't be outdone by that horrid Snivy! With a sharp cry, the little mouse sprang into action, actually jumping up high enough to land on the backs of one of the Beedrill. naturally, this caught not only it but all of Hayley's posse off-guard and for a moment they all stared - and in shock, no less as the Pikachu then proceeded to light up her temporary mount with a brilliant Thundershock.
The Beedrill cried out painfully as it spiraled to the forest floor and the yellow rodent did an impressive flip to land in in front of the still pajama-clad Hayley and Ivy, shooting the latter the most smug grin possible. Hayley, however, was too happy with their new ally to notice the tension between the two and she got to her feet, having dug her sketchbook out of her bag. She wasn't going to be doodling just now, however, making it clear that she wasn't going to take this whole thing lying down as she smacked an attacking Beedrill with it. "C'mon, guys! We can do this!" the brunette cried.

The sweet scent filled the air and Froslass found herself being drawn closer to Vileplume. It was simply irresistible, and her blending into the hail would do little good with her hovering in sight now. At least it would still serve to hurt the grass type over time, so it wasn't totally lost. It was too bad Crenu didn't teach her Blizzard, though she probably wouldn't be able to handle that kind of power yet. She could barely put any punch in her Icy Wind as it was. It wasn't all bad though, the Sweet Scent may have offset the snow cloak but it didn't make her any less evasive than normal, they were back on even footing in that regard. Still, this was alright. "Korra, Astonish." Korra didn't mind this one bit, as it let her get closer to the wonderful smelling Vileplume. She rushed at her with her blinding speed, jumping from side to side until she vanished, popping up behind the Flower Pokemon letting out a loud terrifying shriek as her ghostly aura expanded. Crenu wasn't going to end this without pulling out every trick he had. And an ice ghost was perfect for the kind of strategy he liked to use.

Kasiya gave a little pout as Rosemary succumbed to sleep but it didn't last as she made eye-contact with Liza. The Gym Leader looked quite pleased with herself, but Kasiya wasn't about to let her dear Meganium get pummeled in her sleep. Those thoughts would have to wait, however, as Xanthos' Dig attack failed to hit anything, much to Mike's amusement. Liza gave Kasiya a confused look and the blonde was only able to shrug in reply, as even she wasn't sure why Mike felt the need to mess with a Pokemon that already had anger management issues to begin with. "Okay Rosemary, you were great," the girl said cheerily, holding up the Herb Pokemon's Pokeball and quickly recalling her sleeping partner. A dark grin crossed the girl's face as she unhooked the Ultra Ball from her belt. "All right, Casimir! Time to play!" she called, releasing her aggressive Absol. Casimir surveyed the battlefield, his crimson gaze quickly falling on the severely pissed-off Crawdaunt and he let out a snarl, his sharp claws raking the ground. Kasiya had completely forgotten about Casimir's hatred of the Crawdaunt species until now and she knew he wasn't likely to be thrilled about being paired up with one. The girl stomped her foot on the ground to grab the Disaster Pokemon's attention, and reluctantly turned to look at her. "Knock it off, Cass, he's on your side. Now suck it up and use Swords Dance!" Casimir only growled in response, shooting a dark glare at Xanthos before he began to swing his curved horn, amplifying his attack power. It was fairly traditional for Kasiya to lead off with this move and the Absol turned his gaze on the sun and moon-shaped pair of Pokemon they were facing. His respect for his trainer was still fairly new, and it was safe to say he'd be keeping his eye on Xanthos.
Liza was admittedly a bit disappointed to see the sleeping Meganium recalled, but she likely would have done the same thing if she were in Kasiya's position. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the Crawdaunt willfully rush headfirst into Tate's Solrock's Rock Throw and she stared in awe for a moment, at least until the Absol appeared on the field. Not another Dark-type, she thought with a slight growl, as she and her brother had faced more than a few of them in their days as gym leaders. Both it and the Crawdaunt were equally dangerous and the psychic frowned slightly. Time to try something a little different, she thought. Lunatone, use Rock Polish, she thought-spoke to her Pokemon. The Meteorite Pokemon dropped down a bit and began to spin, its whole body becoming smoother in the process. Its speed had been boosted significantly and Liza smiled. This battle was interesting, to say the least.
=-=-=-=-= "Oh, my," was about all Oak could mutter as they came upon the damaged wall, and he shook his head and placed his hands on his hips. "This isn't good, not at all! I don't think my insurance covers all this!" The two thieves currently helping themselves to the stash of stored Pokeballs was seemingly a secondary concern to the Professor, though when they acknowledged he and Kressen, his brow creased. "Old geezer?!" he repeated indignantly, shooting the two Rockets a very unimpressed stare. "I'm only fifty years old, for heaven's sake! I like to think that I'm still very much in my prime, thank you very much!!"
Clearly, Professor Oak's priorities weren't exactly in order, but nevertheless, he turned to the redhead as the two villains had produced Pokeballs of their own. "I don't suppose it would be too much to ask for your help in dealing with these two buffoons?"
=-=-=-=-= It was difficult not to be impressed with Crenu's strategy at this point, and Erika's composure remained calm and collected as the Sweet Scent worked its magic and drew the opponent closer. As expected, this prompted Crenu to use a closer-range attack as it negated Froslass' enhanced evasion and suddenly she was behind Vileplume. "Toxic," the gym leader ordered, her voice barely audible over the raging hailstorm. Vileplume felt a double chill - one from the storm and one from the Froslass and she didn't have to guess at where the latter was. Her flower tilted back and she unleashed a large cloud of highly potent toxic spores directly behind her.

Mike's heart sunk at the release of the Absol, and his hand reflexively squeezed Kasiya's. The Disaster Pokemon's reputation was not lost on the Hoenn native. Back home, the mere sighting of an Absol prompted an immediate investigation of Mt. Chimney. There had only been a few sightings since his family had moved to Lavaridge, and even then most of them were in the possession of trainers. Mike figured that it was only wild Absol that the superstition applied to, but he couldn't help tense up as he recalled the wave of terror that rushed over the entire town whenever one was spotted.
Xanthos, however, was put off in an entirely different way. Who did this clown think he was showing up in his battle? The newcomer didn't seem to care for him either. Good! The Crawdaunt replied to Casmir's show of aggression with one of his own, stomping his feet and clicking his claws, just inviting him to try anything. Just one move and he'd tear its legs off. His probably didn't grow back. He narrowed his eyes as the Absol did his little dance, unimpressed by it, and continued to stomp and thrash about. Just then, Xanthos' territorial display was cut off by a small fireball whizzing past his face. Eyes wide in rage, the Pokemon snapped his attention over to his trainer, who had his free hand held up and pointing right at him. His palm smoldered, and his expression was over his initial concern of the Absol, and now instead showed a severe lack of a mood to deal with his tantrum.
"Hey!" Mike shouted through grit teeth. "Same team!" The Crawdaunt hissed one last time at Casmir before turning back to the battle. It wasn't like the floating rocks were any threat to him, anyway. Tate narrowed his eyes at the boy, and it was at this point that Mike realized that not everyone should know about his new gift. "Dad was a magician." he lied, chuckling nervously, brushing his bangs over his scar. "Just a bunch of those snap rocks. You know how it is. Crawdaunt respond to that sort of thing." Okay he was shutting up.
The gym leader noticed the boy's aura shift but paid it no real attention. He had a battle to fight. He nodded at Liza's idea to beef up her Lunatone and figured it was a good idea. "Solrock! Reflect!"
"Not happening! Brick Break!" Mike commanded. The Solrock had barely summoned the energy to create the barrier between him and his partner before Xanthos, fueled by rage and a newly acquired competitive spirit, jumped into the air and brought down his claw, smashing through the screen and connecting square between the enemy's eyes. Solrock was sent crashing into the ground. Tate cursed under his breath.

For a solid minute, the redhead could only stand there in silence, completely thunderstruck by what his father had just said to him. At first, he was a little shocked that he had actually called him by name, and after all these years of being called "boy" Keegan had almost started to believe that his father had forgotten what it was entirely. He certainly couldn't look the old man in the eyes anymore, as even he wasn't sure of just how to react. His father cared after all, even if he had a really lousy way of showing it. "Okay then," Keegan said finally, jamming his hands into his pockets and prompting surprised expressions from both parents. Admittedly, a large part of him was relieved that his father did care, and was proud of him and all that jazz, but that small, rebellious and downright unpleasant part of him still clung stubbornly to his anger and resentment. "Are we done here?"
"Keegan..." Maggie said softly, her hands clasped in front of her. Todd said nothing, maintaining that same, stiff upper-lip as he had the past however-many years. "Is that really all you have to say?"
Keegan shrugged half-heartedly, and then looked to his dad. "Alright, fine. Thanks, Dad, for making my life, well, Hell, as you so eloquently put it. I'm oh-so grateful for everything that I'll send you flowers, or something. And the bills for the many years of therapy I'm going to need thanks to you, as well." He shrugged again and turned on a heel as he started walking out of the gym.
Maggie, desperate to keep the discussion going, called after him. "Wait, Keegan, what about the pizza?"
"Not hungry," the redhead replied flatly as he approached the doorway, though at that very moment a rather confused looking delivery boy had appeared, holding several boxes of pizza. The scent alone was enough to make Keegan start drooling, and he remembered then that he hadn't eaten anything all day and he was practically starving. He looked back at his parents, and then back at the pizza boxes. "Scratch that. Thank you," he said, grabbing the uppermost box from the delivery boy. "He's paying," he added, nodding in the direction of Mr Summers and he left the gym, prize in hand. He did not stop walking until he'd reached the same spot where he and Kasiya had picnicked after his win over Flannery. He set the box down on top of the flat rock and flipped it open, his troubles temporarily forgotten as he took up a slice in each hand. ===== Admittedly, Damian was a little impressed when the redheaded girl simply shrugged off his comments, and he brushed some of the dark hair from his face. He didn't often resort to petty insults to get the upper-hand during a match, but sometimes messing with your opponent's head could turn the tide in your favor. Her little Vulpix was quite fast and that would continue to be a problem as she avoided the Hypnosis and Gastly was still likely confused. The fox's heated glare didn't go unnoticed by the bespectacled trainer, however, and he stared back icily; finally giving a slight smirk when she barked at him. She was feisty, all right.
"Night Shade," he commanded finally, having grown tired of the staring contest with the Vulpix. Gastly mumbled something unintelligible and drifted around in circles, his mind having been overtaken by confusion yet again. "Night Shade," Damien repeated, louder this time, but Gastly continued to twirl in small circles. Damien wasn't certain, but he could swear he heard the Gas Pokemon singing the theme song to the TV sitcom "Friends", though it was slightly off-key.

Kasiya gave a slight groan when she saw the tension grow between the two Dark-types. Perhaps this hadn't been such a good idea after all and she quietly wondered if it would have been better if she'd sent out Ariel, or even Adamantine instead. She couldn't go back on her choice now, as she knew Casimir would never forgive her if she did, and she watched with annoyance as Liza gave yet another mental command to her Lunatone. If she had to guess, however, it was probably Rock Polish as the moon-shaped Pokemon was now moving a lot faster than it was before. Her eyes did go wide, however, at the sight of Mike launching a small fireball at his Crawdaunt, and her hand tensed slightly. Just because she was aware of some of the things he could do didn't mean that she wasn't still the teensiest bit frightened by it.
Even Liza could sense the tension between the two Dark-types and she grinned a little - perhaps they could egg them on into fighting each other instead? It seemed risky, but considering the complete lack of camaraderie between the Absol and Crawdaunt already, it probably wouldn't take much to push the two Pokemon's buttons. She raised an eyebrow at the sight of the fireball, the look on her face clearly showing that she didn't believe Mike's explanation one bit. She decided to let it go, however, and proceed with her strategy, glancing quickly at her brother to make sure he understood what she'd planned. "Rock Slide!" she shouted excitedly, her hand slashing the air in front of her. Lunatone hummed and glided forward, its eyes glowing brightly as large rocks seemed to appear out of nowhere above Xanthos and Casimir before they broke apart and began to rain down on the two Dark-types.
Maybe Ada was a better idea, Kasiya thought, gritting her teeth as the rocks began to plummet down around Casimir and Xanthos. "Quick Attack, to dodge!" she shouted fearfully, and at once the Disaster Pokemon leaped into action, as he had no desire to be crushed by said rocks. Casimir's movements were nimble as he raced to and fro, evading the falling rocks with a sort of frightful grace. By the time the attack was over, his silvery, white fur was tinged brown from the dust, but he was unharmed as of yet. "Good work, Cass!" Kasiya cheered, prompting a sort of little scoff from the Absol.

After his Solrock detached itself from the ground and shook the pieces of the gym from its cracks, Tate ordered a Rock Slide in conjunction with his sister's attack. Might as well bury them. he thought. It might be the only way to stop them.
Mike frowned at the sudden rock fall on the battlefield. Xanthos was already busted up, and he wasn't sure how much more he could take before succumbing to his injuries and leaving Kasiya alone. His Pokemon wasn't nearly as fast, but that didn't mean he was in any way defenseless. "Ice Beam and smash through it!"
Xanthos snorted at the command, looking up un-phased at the cluster of stones plummeting towards him. His gaze darted ever so quickly to eye the zippy Absol. What a wimp. Real power doesn't come from running away. It came from standing right in the path of danger and telling it where exactly it could shove it. Happy to demonstrate, the Crawdaunt took in a deep breath and fired a beam of frost straight above him, the force slowing the most on target rock ever so slightly. Now thoroughly frozen, it broke into little pieces with one swing of his claw. Still not deterred, Xanthos continued to smash the bigger rocks, letting the smaller ones still raining down on him. When the attacks were all over, the Pokemon stood neck deep in broken stones and dirt, his carapace covered with scratches and dents. He might not have been as pristine as the Absol, but at least he wasn't a wuss about it. He would wear these scars with the utmost pride.
"Keep it going, Xanthos!" Mike commanded. "Surf!" The Crawdaunt's claws burst forth from the pile of rubble, as did a wave of water that had seeped through the cracks in the floor left from the battle. The wave rushed forward, carrying a good deal of the gym leader's own attacks back at them. Though he did not sport much of an emotive mouth, Xanthos was grinning internally, as he knew some of that water was about to muss up his partner's fur.
Keeping his cool, Tate ordered Solrock to suppress as much of the wave as he could with a Psychic. He knew his Pokemon was too weak to blast it away, but maybe he could hold off for one more round. The Meteorite concentrated as much as he could, and sent a telekinetic ripple through the air towards the wave, but it did little to deter it. Tate could only watch as it crashed down onto Solrock and forcibly churned it across the arena floor and into the wall.
This wasn't looking good for either of them.

Kressen almost laughed at the professor's priority's. Almost. He was truthfully a bit angry that anyone had the gall to attack someone's home and then make off with numerous pokemon that weren't theirs. It won't be a problem at all professor. Just stay back. We wouldn't want you getting caught in the crossfire."
The two thugs looked at each other and began laughing. This kid thought he could take on team rocket by himself? "Alright kid have it your way." Yelled the two of them. Bob pulled out a pokeball and sent out a Koffing while Steve Rattata. Kressen responded by throwing out Odin to face the Koffing and Gigas to fight the mouse pokemon. "Alright guys. We've got to beat these guys! Their trying to steal and you know how we feel about that Gigas.
The flame on his Charmander's tail burned larger and hotter for a second as he felt his trainer's righteous fury course through him. Odin didn't know what was going on, but he got the feeling the poisonous floating ball with eyes really couldn't do jack to him. It made him want to play with it like a soccer ball.
"Hey Bob lets take his pokemon after we win. I've never seen that little blade type before, I'm sure the boss would enjoy it. Now let's get started! Hey rat use quick attack!" Bob nodded and yelled his move as well. "Koffing use Smog!" Rattata would zoom towards Gigas wall Koffing spewed a could of smog at Odin.
"Gigas use ember to intercept it! Odin errr..." The trio of battling trainers watched as Odin simply walked through the gas attempting to catch it like it was some sort of insect. The ember would connect with the mouse pokemon making it reel and pain while the Koffing looked at his trainer for what to do next.

Kasiya had watched Casimir's masterful dodging of the dual Rock Slides with nearly childlike wonder, though it faded when she saw that the tension between the Absol and Crawdaunt hadn't eased up any. Casimir wasn't at all impressed by Xanthos' display, as he didn't see the point in causing damage to himself needlessly and the Absol simply scoffed again, crimson gaze falling back on their oddly-shaped opponents. Mike's call for a Surf attack was a bit alarming to Kasiya, however, as Casimir wasn't very bulky at all and therefore couldn't take hit after hit like a certain scary lobster monster could. The water began to rise up from the cracks in the floor, and the blonde raised her hand. "Cass, Detect," she called, and the Absol obediently (and surprisingly) complied. His blood-red eyes flashed with foresight and he darted forward, leaping gracefully from rock to rock as he avoided the fearful swell of water. He'd also closed the distance considerably between himself and Liza's Lunatone, and as he quickly glanced back at Kasiya, she understood what he wanted to do next. "Go for it, Cass!" she cheered. "Night Slash!"
Lunatone, Cosmic Power! Liza had called out mentally to her Pokemon as soon as she saw that the dual Rock Slides weren't going to be as effective as she hoped they would be. The crescent-shaped Pokemon gave off a bright glow as it enhanced its defensive abilities, tiny pupils fixed on their opponents. The elder twin was looking more and more anxious as the battle raged on, and the Surf attack that ripped through the arena did little to quell said anxiety. Lunatone's moderately better special defenses kept it from being swept away altogether, but the next thing it knew was that Kasiya's Absol was gunning for it, already within striking range as it had reared back its curved horn for its Night Slash attack. "Lunatone, S-Signal Beam!" Liza cried out, almost more as a reflex than a conscious command. The Meteorite Pokemon drifted back as quickly as it could in order to stall for time, and within those few precious seconds it had charged up and fired off a bright, colourful and scintillating beam of light that hit Casimir directly in the chest. The attack was super-effective and Casimir took quite a bit of damage from it, but it didn't deter him in the least as he followed through with his slash, giving the Lunatone a turn at tasting the gym floor.
=-=-=-=-= Karrigan gave a small sigh of relief as the confusion continued to keep the Gastly at bay, at least for now. She wasn't one to rely solely on luck, but when it was on her side, she wasn't going to complain about it. They had an opening now, and she intended to use it, as even though she'd shrugged off the dark-haired boy's comments before, she still wanted to wipe that smug smirk off his stupid face. "Amber, hit them with another Faint Attack," she called. It was definitely nice to have such a reliable new move at her disposal, and one that was super-effective against their opponent, as well. The Vulpix immediately sprang into action, vanishing after only a few steps later and suddenly reappearing next to the confused Ghost-type before she lashed out with her attack.
=-=-=-=-= Oak gave a quick nod as Kressen easily rose to the challenge, and the professor chuckled lightly to himself. The tall redhead had a deep sense of justice, and he admired that in a young trainer. His Charmander seemed to share his trainer's sentiments, already showing its spirit. Oak's eyes did widen at the sight of the odd little Steel-type, however. Is that... why, yes! It is! A Pawniard! he thought excitedly. He'd only read about them recently, and now here was one in the, uh, well, steel, right in front of him. Now just where had Kressen gotten himself a Pokemon like this, and one from the far-off Unova region, at that? All joking now aside, however, Oak was ready to intervene if he absolutely had to. After all, this was not the first time his lab had been attacked by thieves, and it was likely to be the last, as well. Subtly, the coy professor took a Pokeball from one of the shelves. He knew that the Pokemon contained inside would help him out if he asked it to, but he was sure Kressen and his two Pokemon had the situation well under control.

Mike grinned a dopey grin at Kasiya's shock. "Oh come now, love." he remarked playfully. You should know I'm full of surprises. Gotta keep you on your toes." he added a wink. Of course, she reacted with the professional grace that only a trainer of her skill could muster. Besides, if there was anyone who could keep up with him, it was her. Mike continued to smile as Kasiya ordered the Detect and watched with no lack of shared pride as the Absol nimbly and impressively hopped on the falling stones to avoid Xanthos' attack; something which had the Crawdaunt visibly irked. His trainer, however, was more than pleased. Both Xanthos and Casmir's displays had both Gym Leaders very nervous. They knew they were beat. They were just dragging it out. "Xanthos. Let's give him one last Night Slash on that Lunatone."
It was time to show this little fox what a real attack looked like. Making sure to give the floating rock moon no time to catch its supposed breath, the Crawdaunt rushed forward, paying no attention to the Absol as he did. However, there was someone he should have been paying attention to, and it was Tate, who ordered his Solrock to throw one more big rock to hopefully slow him down: a Stone Edge. Even Xanthos would admit that it stung (but only a little) when the giant boulder crashed down on him, not that he needed to say anything. The state of his shell said it all. Not that this stopped him. Let us be clear on that. Once Xanthos began something, he finished it. Simple as that. And now? He was finishing this attack. And from the way the Lunatone spiraled across the floor after being back-handed across the face, it seemed he may have just finished off his enemy too.
Mike may not have approved of his Pokemon's temper, but watching him work was most definitely satisfying.

"You little brat! This means nothing we're still going to end you! Rat use quick attack again!" Yelled Steve. With the normal type closer than before Gigas couldn't respond in time to attack or dodge, so he ended up taking a hit from the mouse Pokemon that sent him tumbling head over heels, but he popped back up ready to go with an annoyed growl. It would take more than that to put him down for the count.
Even if Gigas did go down, Odin could probably handle both of them at once since he had the clear typing advantage. Half of the Koffing's moves couldn't affect him and then normal types did half as much damage to him. In short the newly hatched pokemon could tank what ever the rockets had and keep going. Which is exactly what happened once the Koffing Tackled Gigas and barely left a scratch.
"Alright you two time to counter! Gigas use Scratch and Odin use Psycho Cut." Gigas gave a little roar and delivered a strong blow to the Rattata's side while Odin delivered a devastating super effective hit to Koffing which sent it rolling across the ground before it shook itself and levitated back up looking wobbly. "Nice hit guys! Keep it up and this battle will be over soon." The rockets growled and their hands began inching towards their belts as they kept barking orders.
