Well, you know what he did in the Civil War? Both sides were pressing him to join, Cap and Ironman. He was registered, he wouldn't go against the law because he is a patriot, but he knows the law can go to far and didn't want to go to fight his friends. What did he decide? Went to France while it was going on. He went there to relax, ended up helping out a French Super team fight crime. And I'm sure you both know he hosts an annual poker tournament for the super hero community. He's a friend to basically every super hero, and everyone knows can depend on him. He's not just some bruiser, he's a good guy that will stick with his buddies through thick and thin.

I did some research on him, I guess he holds a grudge against some heroes after an incident where some innocents were harmed in his hometown

It was a Yancy Street Boy, a gang he was in as a kid, which is why it hit him so hard. An innocent hurt by a a war waged by peoples' supposed protectors. He chose to wear it, shame and low self esteem.

I feel the opposite. I think DC just kind of makes their characters to bland and goodie goodie without real development or insight with rare exception. They are just unrealistic when it comes to what they can handle.

I like to use the arguement that compares Wolverine and Batman. Batmans parents were killed by criminals, Wolverine killed is father. Wolverine kills with little mercy and has no problem with it while Batman refuses to kill despite his overwhelming internal hatred for crime no matter the circumstance. I just feel that DC dwelves more into the psyche of some of theyre characters like Batman, Hal Jordan, and the Joker than many of the Marvels that rely on their badass-ness to be awesome

That's why I said with rare exception, and Batman and his domain are typically that exception. Wolverine has had many other moments, he didn't kill his supposed father because he could, he went beserk when the his supposed father killed his mother's husband. Despite them being blood related, it isn't him killing his father as avenging the man that was his father. Wolverine shows a lot of mercy, he doesn't pop his claws against anyone that he sees as a good person or that isn't trying to kill him. The reason he does kill, is because he has had to, he has done it so much that it has become so easy for him to. He's been in basically every major war since WWI, there is no way he couldn't have killed a man. One of the reasons Batman can't kill is because he hasn't actually done it, and once you cross that border, you can't get back. Wolverine has also experenced a greater amount of loss, not only his parents, but numerous loves, freinds, and innocents around him. For Wolverine, it's a matter of survival, not a moral highground. He's had many different stories and such that tell his suffering, what he has been through. He didn't start out as Wolverine, he started as James Howelette, he became Wolverine.

Welcome to another episode of Nerd Crossfire comic label edition. I am your host New G as you can see. We have two top contenders here discussing of all things nerdy, comic book labels and their representative characters. Representing Marvel we have Confuseus; A man with comic book knowledge as epic and full as his beard. Claiming DC we have SpookyKidd, a young upstart with everything to gain, and nothing to lose. Prepare for both epic wins and fails as these two d-d-d-d-d-DUEL to see who's dorkery reigns supreme.
