♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Athena smiled at Arielle. "I'm not sure yet..." She said honestly, looking over all the desserts again. There where so many to choose from. Desserts were a hot item, so Maria's family, Arielle, Kedrick, a lot of the men from the police force, and several of her sisters had all brought something sweet. This ended up with a table full of sweets of all different styles and cultural backgrounds. The young girl smiled and reach out, picking up a piece of cheesecake with strawberries on top. "This looks good." She said, looking over at Arielle once again. "It'll be plenty for me because I already stole one of Kyla's cupcakes." She said with a laugh.
Kedrick grinned at his friends reaction, holding out the steaming cup. "You want a sip?" He asked with a smirk, already knowing his answer. He waved the cup in a tempting gesture in front of Dimitri's nose. Dimitri pulled back, batting at the cup and almost spilling it's hot contents all over the front of Kedrick's shirt. "Stop it, get that stuff out of my face." He said irritably, pushing it back. Kedrick smiled. "Come one Dem, how long has it been since you've tried it?" He prompted. "Maybe you'll like it now. just a sip?" He asked, knowing that the answer would still be 'no.'"Not a chance, drink it yourself." He said, finally allowing a small smirk as he filled up a plastic cup with punch. He let the handle on the spout down once his cup was full, raising it to his lips, and almost choking in surprise when he saw that Eneas and Ulises has joined the group. He swallowed quickly, dashing his sleeve across his lips.
Dimitri shifted uncertainly as Maria's brothers approached her, he got the impression that he was in for another round of brutal teasing. Ulises's first comment about brother in law made him frown uncertainly, but then Dimitri heard the word 'tiny.' The dark hair boy blushed deeply, looking embarrassed and frustrated. "I'm not...tiny.." He said slowly, through gritted teeth. Since he was so pale the deep red blush on his cheeks and ears showed up even more prominently. He tried not to blush, knowing it would just give them more ammunition to tease him, but he failed miserably. He swallowed stiffly, his plate of food in one hand, his cup of punch in the other. For some reason, these two completely flabbergasted him, he could never think of any good comebacks' after one of their teasing jabs.

"That looks good though," Arielle commented with a smile, already approving Athena's choice of dessert. Part of her mind was already trying to calculate just how much should be, if needed, to be divided for people to take home and enjoy. She knew that she and Kedrick would be fine with the food that they had in the fridge, already knowing that there was no need for her to buy more anytime soon. "Plus, it never hurts to treat yourself to something nice, no?"
Before Athena could answer, Arielle glanced at Kedrick and Dimitri and found herself smiling at their coffee conversation. She couldn't remember if they were the ones that had brought the coffee or if Maria's family had brewed their famous coffee. Whatever kind it was, Arielle still didn't see herself drinking it, especially since she was hardly a coffee person. However, it was still interesting and entertaining to watch the boys go at it and Dimitri's continuous refusal of even having any coffee.
She looked surprised when she heard Maria scream and saw her brothers come over. Instantly she knew that another round of teasing would begin and she couldn't help but laugh lightly. "Looks like Maria's brothers are back for another round," she pointed out to Athena as she picked up one of the cookies and took a bite of it.
"And now he changed colors too!" Eneas exclaimed in mock surprise, "Not only is my baby sister dating a tiny pale boy, but she's dating a chameleon as well!"
Maria growled and bother she knew it, she had already lost her temper at her brothers. She sat her food on the table and grabbed her brother's arm, yanking him away from Dimitri. "That's enough Eneas!" she exclaimed harshly in Spanish, "I don't care if you're joking around, but you have to stop this NOW!"
"Calm down, Maria," Ulises stated calmly, trying to get his little sister to calm down from her little spout of rage, noticing how her cheeks were getting red from anger, responding to her as well in Spanish. "This is nothing for you to overreact about."
"NO! I will react because this is MY boyfriend that you're making jabs about," Maria growled back, "If the two of you don't cut it out I will give you a reason to regret ever making him upset. Understand?"
"But you know how we are, Ria!" Eneas protested, also joining in Spanish, "I don't mean any harm. You've never acted like this when we messed with you."
"That doesn't matter! Just because he's my boyfriend doesn't mean you can just keep messing with him about everything. Can't you see how upset he is about this? And I'm sure he would've lashed out at you if I hadn't stepped in!"
Arielle sighed, realizing that a day without conflict would've been unlikely to happen, especially with Maria's brothers' joking antics. She only hoped that things wouldn't get more out of hand then it already was.

♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Dimitri swallowed stiffly, his hands clenched at his side, but he too a deep breath. He was sure nothing would annoy Eneas and Ulises more than if he simply didn't react to their teasing. But at the word 'chameleon' he lost it. Dimitri's face flushed again, and he opened his mouth, suddenly knowing exactly what he wanted to say to them. But he didn't get the far. He let out a sharp yelp of surprise as he felt a hand cover his mouth. He looked back, his mind clouded with panic, but it ebbed away as he saw that it was Kedrick. Kedrick, with one hand over Dimitri's still open mouth, and one hand on his shoulder, pulled his quickly away from Ulises and Eneas. "No need for you to go doing that." He said with a small smirk, sitting Dimitri down at a table and taking his hand off his mouth. "Besides." Kedrick said, sitting down across from him and taking a sip of his coffee. "It looks like Maria's already handling it." He said matter-of-factly."They're asking for it..." He growled quietly, greatly irritated by the teasing, but not genuinely upset. "I mean...tiny!? Pale? chameleon!?! That's just not fair!" He leaned back in his seat, arms crossed across his chest, as the color faded slowly from his cheeks Kedrick waited for a few second after Dimitri's frustrated rant ended, and then smiled, shifting forward a bit. "Yeah, but take a look at the earful they're getting for it." He said, looking over at where Maria was busy chewing out her brothers. Dimitri followed his, gaze, stared for a minute, and then couldn't help but smirk. "She's really cute when she's angry." He said smiled, his mood steadily improving. Kedrick smiled in return, leave it to Dimitri to get distracted from the depths of despair by a pretty girl. "Yeah, I guess so, But I know I wouldn't want to be in Enease and Ulises's shoes right now." He said and stabbed a pasta noddle with his fork, beginning to eat.

Arielle could already sense the tension in the air from Maria's outburst and how her brothers were struggling to figure out what to say. It was very rare for Maria to lose her temper over things, and when she did, the whole world could be in a disarray. She just stayed quiet, knowing that there was absolutely nothing for her to say since she couldn't get in the way of things. Instead, she only gave Athena a small smile. "You and Kyla ready to go back to the table? Don't worry, Maria can take care of this on her own," Arielle said, only hoping that it was true.
"It's true that I may have crossed the line," Eneas said, never once returning back to English, "But it's all in good fun. We always tease you about how you look but you know we never mean it to harm you."
"You just don't seem to get it, do you?" Maria asked harshly, "Not EVERYONE appreciates your stupid quirks! I swear sometimes you guys act like children all the time!"
"And what makes you say that you're a grown woman, Maria?" Ulises snapped, although not meaning to be too harsh, "Don't start getting too prideful here or even the fact that having a boyfriend get to your head. You're still just a little girl."
Before Maria could exclaim to them more in a furious rage of Spanish, she was suddenly aware of their father's presence. He had a disapproving frown on his face before looking at the three of them. "Either the three of you will act your respectful age," Mr. Vázquez commented evenly in Spanish, "Or I will embarrass each and every one of you. Boys, for the last time, stop messing with Dimitri. You're too old to make comments like that. And the only reason why I was able to know was because of Maria screaming to high heaven in Spanish. Especially you, Eneas. You're always the one to say something wrong."
There was a brief pause as the two young men looked away from their father, trying their best to mask their pain and shame from their father. Mr. Vázquez only sighed before glancing at Maria. "And Ria dear," he continued, still in an even tone, "I understand your intention, but you know you could've handled this better, especially in front of all of my men and friends. This isn't a time for any of you to act like you've lost your minds. Now, Eneas and Ulises, you apologize for whatever hurtful comments you said to Dimitri, and Maria, please keep a control of your temper next time. If you have to scold your brothers, please do it somewhere where you don't embarrass the family."
Maria had a frown on her face the entire time, nodding quietly to what her father said before turning on her heels and walking off, still fumed from earlier and knowing that her temper had not yet disappeared.
Arielle almost wanted to call out to her best friend, but she knew that she was going to need her space. Turning her attention to Eneas and Ulises, she watched as Mr. Vázquez continued to chew them out some more before they both headed over into the direction of Dimitri and Kedrick.
"Before my ridiculous brother ruins this apology," Ulises started calmly, rubbing his neck, "We want to apologize for any harmful comments we made. People in our family and close friends know that's the way we just, but if Eneas and I took it too far, then we are greatly sorry for it."
"And I'm sorry that I called you a chameleon," Eneas added, his hands in his pockets.

♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Kedrick smiled slightly, glad that Dimitri wasn't too angry. During the long rant in Spanish that was going on behind the two boys, he heard Mr. Vázquez's voices join them, although he still didn't understand a word. Kedrick was beginning to seriously consider learning Spanish, it would make things so much easier. Dimitri looked up suspiciously as Eneas and Ulises approached the table, his eyes narrowing slightly. He wasn't sure what they wanted, but he was almost positive that it wasn't going to be good. He had just opened his mouth for a very cold 'what do you two want?' When Ulises began.
Dimitri blinked, taken slightly aback, and frankly, he wasn't really sure how to react. He looked down uncertainly, feeling almost a little bit embarrassed at how frustrated he had let himself get. "Uhm..." He shuffled his feet awkwardly. "It's...it's fine." He said with a slight laugh, looking up at them with a small smile. "I'm uh- I'm sorry too, I kind of overreacted to you guys...I'm kind of....well, hot tempered I guess, I don't usually take teasing to well, but it's alright." He smiled slightly, somehow, he still hoped that he could be friends with these two. Dimitri hesitated, feeling awkward now and he looked over to Kedrick for help. Kedrick smirked reassuringly at him, he thought that Dimitri was handling this very well. "It's nice of you guys," Kedrick said with a smile, putting a hand on Dimitri's shoulder. "He dose tend to overreacted a bit." He said, earning himself a dark look from his friend. "I wouldn't worry about it, it's Maria that going to be steamed at you two for a while." Dimitri nodded his agreement, and then looked down uncertainly. "If she's really upset then I ought to go find her..." He said slowly, not sure if she'd even want to talk to him.

"Looks like we found another factor on how Maria was so easily attracted to you," Eneas said with a playful smile, "If you both have short or hot tempers, just imagine what their kids will be like."
"Then again, brother," Ulises broke in, "It takes Maria a lot longer to lose her temper. When she was younger, if you had done something wrong to her toys, she would be on a verge to kill you... Trust us, we know. But her temper has gotten a lot better during the years."
"But when she loses her temper," Eneas added with a brief nod, "You just know you're in trouble. It takes her time though. Like, there's just an order of buttons or switches that you've got to activate before her temper is made aware of."
"However, that's not really important right now," Ulises concluded with a small sigh, "But Kedrick is right. She'll be angry at us for a day or two, maybe even try and get her revenge, but we're used to it by now. It's what we Vázquezs do. If you want to go see her, I suggest you do so know. I think I saw her walk away to the front of the house or something."
"And don't worry about her temper, Dimitri," Arielle butted in after bringing Athena and Kyla with her over to them to make sure all is well, "Only a few people can calm her down, and I'm sure she'll want to know what you're feeling. Now go on lover boy, skeedadle." She waved her hand in a motion that was as if she was shooing him off and a soft smile touched her lips.

♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Kedrick couldn't help but smirk slightly as Eneas and Ulises explained Maria's temper, and he could clearly see how it fit. Everything they had just said seemed to line up pretty well. "If you guys say so." Kedrick said with a slight laugh, rubbing the back of his neck. "I just know that I wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of her wrath.
Kedrick looked up, seeing Arielle, Athena, and Kyla coming over to join them. Kyla was already happily eating her pie, casting a suspicious glance in Athena's direction every so often. She was clearly still worried about Athena's 'threat' to eat her pie. Kedrick smiled at the girls as Arielle gave Dimitri her advice. Dimitri smirked wryly. "Well, if you think so." He said to Arielle, scratching the side of his head. "I ought to go find her then." Dimitri turned away from the small group and started heading off to find Maria."Hey wait!" Kyla called after him, just having to stick her word into the conversation. Once she saw that Dimitri had turned around and was listening to her she started again. "When you find her, you ought to kiss her, that'll make her feel better for sure!" She said with a wide smile. Dimitri couldn't help but smirk again. "Okay, maybe, I'm I'm gonna wait until she calms down a bit before I try something like that, I don't want her to bite me." He said, with a slight laugh.
Dimitri walked around the side of the house, his pale hands stuffed deep in his pockets, his eyes peeled for Maria. He looked around the side of the house where there where nice, small gardens planted along the wall. All the flowers and ground covers that grew here thrived in the shade. But the flowers weren't Dimitri's main concern at the moment, he had Maria to find. The dark haired boy circled to the front lawn, looking around. "Maria...." He called experimentally, wondering if she'd bother it answer him even if she was here.

"You honestly don't want to," Eneas said in all seriousness, the expression on his face giving him a very different appearance than from before, "I swear on my great grandfather's name that she is a NIGHTMARE when she's in a furious rage. And when it's that time of the month for her and you make her upset, you honestly have no idea just how much trouble you could be in."
"There was a time when someone got on Maria's bad side in middle school," Arielle commented, reflecting on an experience that had gotten Maria into so much trouble with her parents. "Well, it was actually camp, but someone had talked about her father in disrespect and she ended up returning the favor by making the girl's life miserable for the rest of the camp experience. It was like even at a young age, she was good at using blackmail to her advantage."
"Makes me wonder how the police field would be like if she was the next chief," Ulises said with a small grin, "It's been her dream for years. Getting into all the action, solving mysteries. Father doesn't do it, but Maria would do whatever it takes to get the job done, which is something that our father is all about. Doing whatever he can in his power to solve a case. Hopefully, some of her methods will die out a bit. But I know, as her older brother, that's she's going to do well taking over dad's position in the future."
Maria had stalked off into the front, just as one of her brothers had commented. She needed to be away from people to calm down, knowing that she would end up doing something or saying something she'd regret. She couldn't help but feel embarrassed that she had lost her temper in front of Kedrick, his sisters, and even worse, Dimitri. What if she scared Dimitri for acting like that? She knew that her temper was a terrible thing, but she didn't want to lose him for that. Her anger quickly dissolved into worry and she started heading over to the place where Dimitri had led her to in order to continue her state of panic until she was calm enough to return.
Before she could enter the area completely, she heard Dimitri call her name. She froze in her spot and was quiet for a bit, wondering if what she had feared was going to happen. Taking a deep breath, she turned slowly and gave Dimitri a shy smile. "You called?" she asked, trying to sound as calm as she could be.

♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Kedrick couldn't help but smile slightly as Ulises talked about how Maria would be a a chief of police. He thought, personally, that Maria would make a wonderful head of the department. Of course he would worry about her, seeing that she might get hurt doing some of the things that her father did, but then he reminded himself that Maria knew what she was doing, and he shouldn't fret.
He looked over at Arielle, wondering what she thought of this whole thing. "Y'know, it's kind of funny, Dimitri's never talked much about what he wants to do when he grows up. I'm not sure myself weather or not he's decided." He said thoughtfully, linking his fingers together and resting them on top of his head. He looked though his memories, trying to find an instant when Dimitri might have mentioned it, but he still came back to the conclusion that, to some extent, Dimitri was still stuck in the past. He wasn't ready to think about adult life yet, not so soon after his childhood had been practically stolen.
Kedrick looked down slightly, the thoughtful expression still on his face, though in reality, he was angry. It made him feel angry and sick to think of what that man had done to his best friend, he couldn't forgive Jared for that, that much he knew. Often times, Kedrick remembered when he had seen Dimitri in the school's hallways so many year before they had officially met. He had look so normal, just a small, quiet kid who was trying to keep his head down and survive middle school, Kedrick hadn't begun to think of what was behind his mask of seriousness and cold behavior. He even felt guilty sometimes, wrongfully he knew, but Kedrick couldn't help but wonder how much pain he could have spared his friend if he had decided to reach out to him earlier.
He glanced back up with a small smile. "Nope, can't think of anything." He said, glancing up at Enease and Ulises. He hoped they wouldn't tease Dimitri about being a bum since he had not 'set' plan for the future, but he doubted it, especially after their rather sincere apology.Dimitri looked up as he heard Maria's voice, glad he was able to find her quickly. He pushed his was past some underbrush and caught sight of her. He smiled gently at her and ducked under a low hanging branch. "There you are." He said with a small smile. "I was looking for you." The dark haired boy paused, looking around the overgrown orchard again. It was a pretty place, where the sunlight filtered though the leaves in soft shades of green and yellow. Dried leaves from the previous winter crackled under foot and a few red and green spotted apples hung for the branches from peeling stems. All in all, it was a lovely place, especially good for cooling off.
Dimitri hesitated slightly and the walked the rest of the way over to her. "Your uh....your brothers came to apologize..." He began awkwardly, knowing that it probably wasn't the best way to start. "An you know what?" He asked with a slightly laugh, looking down at his shoes and then back up at her. "I don't mind, not really. I was a bit fried after all their teasing, but I'll live." He said optimistically, and then reached out, taking her hand in his. "Don't be too mad at them okay?" He prompted gently, giving her fingers a soft squeeze.

Arielle Shore
"Oh really?" Arielle asked Kedrick curiously, having been quiet most of the time. She couldn't blame Dimitri for being unsure of what he wanted to spend the rest of his life doing. Even she hadn't really thought much about her future because of that over looming shadow of Jonesy, haunting every ounce of escape. She knew that if Kedrick had never found her, she would be more hurt than before, or even worse, dead.
Now that she had some freedom in her life, she had time to think about what she wanted to do. What kind of talents did she have that she would want to use for the rest of her life? She had never been sure, knowing that she didn't want to make a career from cooking. It was a hobby for her, something she enjoyed. As she was thinking about what she wanted to do with her life, she was unaware of what could've been running through Kedrick's mind.
She looked up when Kedrick finally spoke, concluding about his earlier statement about Dimitri not having a decision about his future. She still looked distant but nodded, almost as if she could understand. "Guess we're both in the same boat," Arielle commented almost quietly.
"Well, there's no rush for him," Ulises said with a grin, "Not everyone has an idea of what they want to do. Some people continuously change their minds before going to college, thinking that one career was best until realizing that it wasn't. There was a time when Eneas and I thought that we wanted to take part of law enforcement just like our father. I mean, we always thought it was just the most amazing thing to know that our dad was responsible for saving lives, but as we grew up and were experienced to more fields and other job areas, we realized that being in law enforcement wasn't really cut out for us."
"Plus, we just love what we do," Eneas added with a cheerful smile, "Ulises is planning on working with NASA or some big shot company with his robots. He's really good at that kind of stuff. He always loved building things. And I love designing stuff as well as building, but design is more for me. We've even talked about opening our own business someday, but we both know it's highly unlikely to happen. Still, as long as we're doing what we enjoy, it doesn't matter where we are."
Ulises nodded and messed with Arielle's hair, waking her up from her daydream and smiled at all of them. "Just, don't think too much about your future now. Enjoy the moments that matter today," Ulises advised in a soft tone, "Life is short and it's better to live enjoying it than worrying about what comes next."
"Sólo se vive una vez, pero una vez es más que suficiente si se hace bien," Eneas commented in Spanish, grinning before continuing, "You only live once, but once is more than enough if you live it well. That's a quote from Woody Allen, and something that my brother and I, or mainly just myself, live by. Why do you think we enjoy joking around so much?"
"I always thought it was because you enjoyed being goofy?" Arielle asked with at teasing smirk.
Ulises laughed and nodded, "That's true, but you know what we mean."
He was looking for me? Maria thought, suddenly feeling guilty, Did I worry him... I know I shouldn't have but still... Before her thoughts continued, she listened to what else Dimitri had to say and was glad that her brothers apologized. Even if her father hadn't made them, she would've gotten them to apologize one way or another. She felt herself smile gently but couldn't bring herself to look at him, feeling embarrassed for her attitude.
She rubbed her thumbs against his hands and sighed. She stayed quiet for a bit, not sure how she should respond to him. After just a few seconds, she looked up at him again and nodded with a gentle smile on her face. "I'm really sorry that... That you had to see that, Dimitri," Maria apologized, once again finding herself looking away from him, "I hope... I hope that I didn't scare you or anything... My temper is a horrible thing and...And.." She stopped, realizing that she had no idea what else she could say so she just stayed silent, her eyes glued to the ground.

♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Kedrick smiled gently over at Arielle as she spoke and he thought carefully about the meaning of what she had said. Kedrick knew that in many ways, Arielle was very good for Dimitri. She was a constant friend to him, and over all, she, better than anyone, could understand some of what his friend had been though. Their two situations had their parallels, but they where also very different in may ways. Kedrick, who had of course never experienced something so horrible as sexual abuse, sometimes felt that Arielle could relate to Dimitri better than he could.
In turned, he wondered what Arielle's plans for the future would end up being, and that thought lead him to his own plans. "I think, what I'd really want to do, is be a therapist, a psychiatrist or something." He smiled to himself, looking up at Eneas and Ulises. "I've always liked the feeling of helping people, especially kids, and I guess people find it easy to talk to me, so being a therapist seemed like the way to go for me." He explained. It almost felt like Eneas and Ulises where doing something big and important with their lives. After all, robotic engineering and architecture where both very important fields of work. But Kedrick felt that he'd be more comfortable on a small scale, where he could help individual people, and be able to see the benefits of his work directly.Dimitri's smiled at her gently, and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Nah, you didn't scare me off." He said reassuringly, brushing a piece of stray hair back from her face and letting his fingers linger on her cheek. "Granted, I wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of your temper, but I know how it is, I've had my times when I've blow up as well." He said, remembering the day at the hospital when he and Maria had fought. Dimitri could clearly remember struggling to control his anger, it was an ugly feeling and Dimitri didn't particularly like letting his anger get the better of him, but it bubble up inside him way quicker than he would have liked. "Trust me, I'm just as hot tempered as you, but that's why I know that you get over it, you cool off, and...and...well, I guess everything goes back to normal." He said encouragingly, trying to show her in the best way possible that she hadn't upset him, and that he understood.

"So I guess someday we'll have to call him, DR. Kedrick Suwa, huh brother?" Ulises asked Eneas with a warm grin. He found it interesting how they were able to talk about future goals or careers after talking about Maria's anger. Still, it was nice for Ulises because he could see what Maria's friends were doing for themselves.
"I believe so, Ulises," Eneas grinned, patting Kedrick on the back, "At least we'll know who to go to if our children or little demons, depending on how things turn out in the next couple of years."
Arielle giggled and just shook her head at Maria's two older brothers. A part of her wished that she had something to contribute to the conversation, to feel like she had some kind of future, but she didn't. Sure, the idea had crossed her mind, but she didn't know what she could possibly do. "Well, as you've said, we've got all the time in the world to think about our future, but now is more important then anything else," Arielle said with a smile.
Ulises and Eneas grinned and nodded and then Eneas gave her a bear hug. "See, I know this girl understood us!" Ulises proclaimed with a warm laugh, "Oh why can't Maria be more like you, Ari?"
"But then life wouldn't be as fun if Maria was more like sweet little Ari," Ulises said with a nod, "Plus, both of them are special in their own way and never need to be like more than another. We've got to do what's best for our baby sisters."
Maria was afraid to look up at Dimitri, but in time, she finally did. She felt a wave of relief as he told her that he didn't feel afraid of her because of her temper. She laughed lightly when he mentioned that he never wanted to get on the wrong side of her temper, and she knew that nobody wanted that. The only few people she knew that could deal with her temper were her parents, but they knew just about everything that makes her who she is, so why wouldn't they? Maria appreciated his words of encouragement, especially since he was trying to cheer her up.
Her eyes met his for a brief moment before looking elsewhere again. "I was... I was just afraid that... That by seeing my temper, you were going to second guess yourself and dump me," Maria admitted weakly, the fear being heard in her voice, "Or, that one day I'd lose my temper and ruin everything for us... And I don't want that Dimitri... I don't... I don't want to ruin anything...."

♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Kedrick smiled, a soft laugh escaping his lips at the sound of the title 'Dr. Kedrick Suwa.' Strangely enough, Kedrick found that he really liked the sound of it, certainly not as a nickname, but it was a title that made him feel good about the future he had chosen for himself.
Kedrick found his grin widening as Eneas gave Arielle a tight hug, he was taller than her by enough that it almost looked comical. He looked around, wondering if Dimitri would return soon, but he doubted it knowing the state Maria had left them in. He hoped things where going well for the two of them. Kedrick could tell that Maria and Dimitri where in for a wild ride with this relationship, Maria with her temper, Dimitri with his secrets, it was going to be hard, but Kedrick knew they would be able to handle it. Dimitri listened closely, taking in everything Maria was saying. As Maria voiced her fears that he would leave her, Dimitri felt a hard lump in his chest, like his heart had constricted uncomfortably. He swallowed hard, and let out some of the tension in his chest with a soft laugh. "No. no, enough of that." He said, his voice soft, but somewhat urgent. Dimitri pulled her against him, wrapping his arms around her in a gentle hug. "There's no need to talk like that, you'll just worry yourself..." He said, his voice slightly husky.
For some reason, what she had said struck a chord with him, and he had the oddest feeling, like he wanted to cry. He quickly realized that what Maria had just said about her temper, was exactly what he had been thinking about his secrets. The fear that she would leave him became almost overwhelming for a moment, and his arms tightened slightly around her, wanting to keep her there. The dark haired boy pressed his lips gently to the top of her head, he needed her to know just how much he loved her, so that when the time came that he did have to tell her, she might, just might consider not leaving.
"It's alright..." He murmurer, his lips brushing lightly against her hair. One hand slid up her back and resting on the back of her neck, gently stroking her hair. "I'm not going anywhere...."

Arielle Shore
Why do I feel like crying? Maria asked herself as Dimitri pulled her into him. Her fingers clenched loosely onto the back of his shirt, almost as if she needed some support. His words were comforting, and she understood his intention of getting her to calm down and act like it was nothing, but it would still be at the back of her head. She had a lot of tiny flaws that made her worry about ruining their relationship, but her temper would definitely be the straw that would break the camel's back when it came to their relationship.
She felt chills run down her spine as Dimitri quietly murmured into her hair. Her fingers loosened with whatever hold they had on the back of his shirt until it felt like she was barely touching his back. "You sound so sure if it now..." Maria mumbled, still feeling bummed out, "But what if I lose my temper without meaning too at you and say something hurtful that makes you leave me?" She looked up at him, the look in her eyes trying to find any hint, any proof that he was right and that even she had to be sure of his strong belief in her.
"That makes me glad, fellas," Arielle said with a grin, "But if you don't let me go, I'm pretty sure my boyfriend will be missing a girlfriend."
Eneas chuckled and let go, messing with her hair before guiding her beside Kedrick and getting a good look at them. "Yup, the two of you are wonderful together," Eneas concluded with a nod, "And yes, I know they've been together for a few weeks, but still."
"You're just ridiculous, Eneas," Ulises laughed with a light roll of his eyes. "You're doing a lot better with your sleep and eating, right? Maria told me you had some issues after the trial."
Arielle nodded with a small smile, "It's fine now. I mean, have you seen what's been on my plate today? My eating is definitely fine." She was grateful for their question though, knowing that Kedrick was worried too. She didn't tell him that she had gotten a bit sick afterwards, since he was already worried about her sleeping and eating, but Maria knew and she did everything in her power to help her feel better. "Plus, I never have to eat liquids everyday of my life again. Thank goodness."

♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Kedrick listened as Arielle cautioned Ulises and Enease and not hanging on to her too long or he'd be missing his girlfriend. He allowed a comical scowl to cross his features. "Yeah, about that." He said, with an exagerated hint of possesivness in his voice. Kedrick quickly allowed his face to relax into a smile as they moved Arielle over next to him, just to make sure the boys knew he was joking.
Kedrick put an arm around Arielle's shoulder, pulling her gently against his side. "Yeah, she's doing just fine." He said with a smile, unaware that she had had some trouble previously. "I think she's set now, she's pretty well healed over I think." Kedrick looked over at Arielle, thankful for what felt like the millionth time that Arielle was alright after the whole Jonesy ordeal. Dimitri could feel her hands close tightly on the back of his shirt, hanging on to him, and for some reason his vison blurred so badly with tears that he had to swallowed quickly and blink his eyes to try a fight them back. Dimitri's vison cleared and he felt her grip relax as she looked up at him, her eyes bright, and almost seeming desperate. He smiled sadly at her, reaching up once again to brush her cheek, still keeping his other arm around her. "I'm not going to leave you Maria, I'm staying right with you okay? No amount of temper is going to scare me off..." He said gently, his knuckles gently caressing her cheek, his thumb brushing right over her cheek bone.
Dimitri didn't ever intend to leave her. He knew, or he thought he knew that she'd leave him after finding out about his past and what had been done too him. Dimitri had already decided that if she was going to leave then, that he forgive her, and let her go. He didn't want to trap Maria into a relationship if she was scared of him, or if he made her angry or uncomfortable, he'd let her go, but he would leave before then.
Dimitri smiled sadly at her, his hand stilling, but not leaving her face. "I...I love you Maria, I always will, I know that, just..." He hesitated slightly, trying to find the perfect words to finish what he was trying to say to her. "Just believe me when I say that I'm going to stick with you, and....and trust me." He finished with a soft laugh.
