(OK, I think I need to save Lance now)
It was at this moment that Lance decided to speak. "Keep pointin' that gun at me & I'll shove it up your a**." He could hear strange snarling sounds from various directions & had just enough time to sigh before he whipped out a handgun that had been hidden under his clothing before he was placed into cryo. Without even time to think about whether it would fire or not the man fired off a shot at one of the amaciated creatures leaping through air at him. It hit the dog thing square in the face & it dropped out of the air. Lifeless.
More of the creatures were circling & Lance could see that someone else had been cornered up against a cryo pod & so he fired off more shots & killed the hound. The remainder of the pack began to back off, their lips drawn back unbelievably far to reveal all of their pointed teeth. They seemed to realise that the gun was much more lethal to them then people on their own, so they retreated into the shadows where they were near-impossible to see. The growling, hissing & choked barking didn't stop though, so they hadn't left. Lance looked up at a man he knew to be Thane; though there seemed to be something different about him. Was Thane taller? How long had he been asleep? "Hey there lad, fine place I seem to 'ave woken up to eh?"

Thane gasped as the dog-like creature advanced towards him. He took out his pistol, aiming it at the creature and fired. Thane wasn't even sure if he had hit the horrid thing, as it was gone by the time he had opened his eyes again. Thane still was crap with a gun, even with the training he had gotten.
Thane looked at Lance as he spoke, he hadn't seen the man for five years but it must have been just a few minutes for Lance. Without thinking, Thane tightly hugged the taller man. After a few seconds he realised what he had done and he quickly let go, looking down at his shoes. "Ah...uhm...sorry...I-it's..it's just been a long time." He gave Lance a small smile and turned to look around the room, he could still hear those horrible creatures growling and snarling. That's when he noticed Dimitri with a shard of glass from a chryo pod. "H-Hey! What are you- Oh Jesus! Your hand!"

Zed spotted the radar blips that showed Koko and Jackal's location, as well as the men that were shooting at them. He took the ship to a lower altitude and headed towards the radar blips, activating the Aiolos' stealth systems that masked the ship's heat signatures and turned on the ship's perception filter, which made it almost invisible.

Dimitri cowered when he heard bullets fired, since he never used a gun - only his thickly barbed chain. But, he held his ground. He tore off a strip of material from his trouser pocket, and strapped it tightly around his forearm. He started to feel his hand lose the blood flow, and then slowly go numb. Dimitri took this as a chance to finish what he had intended to.
Tearing another strip from his trousers, he stuffed this into his mouth, over his tongue and clamped his teeth down, this would stop him biting his tongue. Dimitri then began to draw the glass down across his wrist, slowly sawing away the edge. Luckily, the glass had become serrated, to it cut rather easily....or easier I should say. Muffled screams and cries could be heard as the hand finally fell off and blood sprayed from the wound. Dimitri fell back and quickly tore more of his trousers to wrap around his left stump.

Zed tapped the screen a few more times then stood up from his seat and headed down to the cargo hold. The pilot stepped onto the large yellow magnet as the cargo hold doors opened beneath him. The magnet hung below the ship with Zed stood on it as the Aiolos swooped over the scene of the gunfight, scooping up Koko before disappearing over the opposite dune and into the distance. "Hey Koko" He smiled as the magnet ascended into the ship's cargo hold.

Having watched Angie walk off from the gunfight, Koko had murmered to herself, "Jeez... I'm the one with superhuman abilities & I can't even walk across a desert without gettin' shot at. How'd she do that?" The mercenary had been about to get back to the business of shooting various men & dealing with Jackal; until she scooped up & carried off by someone. She let out a small yelp, swivelling round to find she was being held by Zed. "Bloody hell Zed! Give a girl a little warnin'!" The gunmen were (not surprisingly) taken aback by the sudden arrival of the Aiolos, so didn't react quickly enough to fire at them.
As they rose into the cargo bay, Koko had a fair amount of time to look up at the pilot. Her cheeks reddened ever so slightly & her heart rate continued to race - whether from the earlier adrenaline or not she wasn't sure. After a while she averted her gaze, unnerved by how happy she felt at being found by him; she'd spent years on her own, yet she'd always craved the company of someone else. No-one had ever before been able to make up for the hole that had been rended in her heart when Finn disappeared. The pain was still there, but Zed's presence eased it somewhat.
Lance didn't seem to mind being hugged by Thane, but he was still a little confused over the lads new height & apparent aging. This was going to take some getting used to... "Hey boy, where's your labcoat eh?" A small laugh escaped the man before he then realised what the other man was doing over by one of the cryo pods. Leaping to his feet Lance raised his voice, barking out orders. "Thane! Help out this man before he bleeds to death! Whoever the hell was pointing the gun at me, you better god-damn know how to use it, those things are comin' back!"
He turned to Dimitri, the sounds of the skankhounds rising as they began a frenzy - brought about by the fresh scent of blood.. a lot of blood. "Sorry lad, gunna have to use your severed hand." Without waiting for a reply, Lance picked up the remains of the other man's hand & lobbed it as hard as he could into the darkness. There was a frantic scrabbling of claws on metal & a series of strangled barking, but he couldn't be sure that all the creatures would follow such a small morsel. "We're movin'. NOW!"

Syuzanna had stood frowning, once again oblivious to his surroundings. He had heard the barks and growls, the muffled screams. Slowly his face laxed, and he started grinning at the thought of using his guns. It may have been a while since he last did so, but he was certain he have fun again. At the sound of the older man, Syu brought out his sub-machine gun firing it into the shadows.

Thane let out a small chuckle. "I'm wearin' it." The young man gave Lance a small nod before he rushed over to Dimitri and helped him to try and slow down the bleeding. As he got closer to the dark-haired man he let out a small gasp. "Oh Jesus...that must be...be horrible..." He swallowed and did his best not to throw up at the sight of Dimitri's severed hand. He had never been that good with blood. "Okay...uh...come on then" He put an arm around Dimitri, in case the other man had become a lot weaker due to loss of blood.

Zed waited for the cargo-bay doors to close then stepped off of the magnet, leading Koko by the hand. "Sorry about abducting you like this again, but it's so much more fun than using the airlock... And it's kinda romantic if you're into being literally swept off of your feet" The pilot, who was still covered in pen scribblings, smiled broadly as he led is companion to the cockpit, where he sat her down in his chair. "I should probably go have a shower to get rid of the squiggles... You can pilot the ship while I'm away, just stay between 0.3 AU and 80AU of the Ares sun and don't crash we'll be fine... I trust you've learnt how to fly this thing just by watching me, so if you run into any trouble just call me over the intercom." With that the pilot tapped a few buttons, making the ship space-worthy by sealing the vents and intake ducts then headed down to the shower-room.

While being led through the ship Koko braced herself for the visions she expected to have. When they didn't occur she breathed a sigh of relief. She wasn't really listening to what Zed was saying as they walked. Next thing she knew she was in the cockpit, with Zed telling her that she was going to be flying the ship. Her mouth opened for a moment, but the pilot was already gone so she didn't manage to say anything to him. After watching the empty doorway that he'd disappeared through for a few moments, the mercenary decided he wasn't kidding - he really expected her to fly the Aiolos.
As she swivelled towards the controls, Koko felt a rush of different emotions flood through her. First & foremeost, excitement. This was by far the most advanced & powerful piece of machinery she'd ever seen, now she was going to use it! Next was fear. If she did something wrong, she could send both herself & Zed to their deaths, which was not something she planned on doing. There was also confusion at why he'd given her this opportunity, disbelief that this was really happening & a surge of some emotion she couldn't quite place.
After running her hands lovingly over the controls for a little while, the mercenary's demeanor suddenly shifted. Her hands began to move in quick, fluent movements, activating various devices before taking hold of the control stick. A thin curved smile grew on her features, her eyes glinting. "Here we go..." With more force then was probably necessary Koko pulled back a lever on the dashboard & sent the ship powering forward. It accelerated easily, building up speed at a phenomenal rate while the female mercenary yelled ecstatically at the controls.

The sudden burst of acceleration caused Zed to get stuck to the the side of the shower cubicle. He pushed a button on the intercom. "Easy with her, she's got significantly more kick than the combined power of every other ship on this rock, including the sleeper ship in it's day... Activate the cabin inertia dampers and whack the artificial gravity on, I'm falling around in here... green buttons, far left." The pilot carried on attempting to wash off the black marker that was scribbled all over his body.

The sound of Zed's voice dragged Koko out of her elated state & she rolled her eyes, "Alright, alright." She levelled off the ship's speed before activating the things the pilot had mentioned. With a small sigh the mercenary leant back in the chair, cruising at a steady speed now. She wondered what was going to happen now; would her strange visions return? Would she remain on the Aiolos? She swivelled in the chair, looking at the doorway - would she & Zed ever work?
Her pondering was interupted by a sudden, piercing sound from the dashboard. Spinning back round to face it, the girl discovered a bright red light was flashing. She glanced over at the speed reading & was shocked to find it was rising again. More alarms began to sound, followed by more flashing lights & flickering screens. Koko's voice now changed to one of panic when she spoke into the intercom, another unnerving alarm sounding from the dashboard. "Zed! There's something wrong with her! The readin's are goin' nuts, she won't slow down & alarms are soundin' off all over the place!"

"s**t!" Zed burst out of the shower cubicle and wrapped a towel around his waist before sprinting up to the cockpit where he leant over Koko's shoulder to look at the warning lights. "Drive core is malfunctioning... This is gunna get very bumpy." In a flash the pilot had climbed down into the room that housed ship's heart. The pilot spoke over the intercom to Koko, his voice was difficult to hear over the loud humming of the core. "Yeah, it's definitely the core, I'll try to re-route the power manually..." The pitch of the humming noise changed slightly and a hissing sound could be heard as additional coolant was diverted to the core. ".. right, now there should be a swi-" The intercom turned to static and the ship juddered violently as the acceleration spiked before decreasing suddenly. Various alarms sounded throughout the ship, but no damage had been detected, however, life signatures on the ship had dropped to 1.
The pilot's heart had been stopped by a huge ark of electricity from the unstable core, however, an automated life-sign monitoring and stabilising system that'd been built into his robotic arm quickly restarted it. The arm however, was still highly charged from the bolt, arking to walls and other metallic surfaces. Zed stood up and stumbled around, looking for the wall-mounted intercom. "You still alive up there hun?" He coughed slightly over the intercom.

Koko gripped the edge of the dashboard tightly as the ship juddered, stopping herself from falling off the seat or being thrown around by the sudden movement. She'd heard Zed's voice over the intercom, but had been unable to respond to it. Now her face paled & a chill shot up her spine as she saw the ship's life-sign readings drop to 1. She didn't move at all even when the light's in the cockpit failed & were replaced by red emergency lights. Not until the readings changed back to 2 & she heard the pilot's voice again. Without even pausing the mercenary spoke back, "Holy s**t Zed! You just died! Do you hear me? You died! Never, ever scare me like that again ya hear?"
She didn't even scold the man for calling her 'hun' she was just so relieved he was ok. Now she noticed the various things going on around her, snapping her back into a calm, yet urgent state. "Zed. The emergency lights are on in the cockpit, not sure 'bout the rest o' the ship. I've lost control of her accelaration completely now, she ain't slowin' down. Hull integrity's still good, but her shields look like they're losin' power."

Zed's metal arm sparked furiously as he hauled himself up to his feet then checked the ship's status on an access panel on the wall. "Sorry about that, it keeps happening, i don't know why... Right... Just overriding the system... I've got it... Brace for deceleration" The ship shuddered as the reverse thrusters activated, the inertia dampering units drew huge amounts of power as everything onboard suddenly attempted jolt forward. The reverse thrusters pulled the ship back down below light-speed to an acceptable cruising speed. "Oh... the computer says that the shields were almost stripped when we passed through a star... we literally went right through it... We musta gone pretty fast and pretty far... We're a long way from Ares" The pilot spoke over the intercom, with an urgency to his voice. "we need to land, I have to discharge the metal arm's micro-fusion core before it overloads... Plot a course to the nearest rocky planet."
