Earendil grinned. "Right," he nodded, rising to his feet. "You stay here, I'll go to the kitchen and see what's what."
He was used to being waited on all the time, and he knew it was a habit that he would have to break himself away from. So he headed to the kitchen to see what was available, with every intention of this time being the one who would bring the food out to the others.

After breakfast had been eaten and the table cleaned off, the large group parted ways to their respective places of visit. Lin led them back down the path that would lead them into the valley.
Walking was nice, especially after breakfast and they weren't in a hurry to get anywhere anyways.
"So where to first? Ulani and Ulrich's again? Aliya's? Celebor's?"

Earendil wasn't sure, and he shrugged his shoulders slightly.
"Who do you think would be most likely to be home?" he asked. "Or perhaps I should ask, who would be home now but less likely to be home later?"
After all, if someone was going to be out later, then it would probably be best to visit them now, while they were (or might) still be home.

"It's hard to tell... well I'm sure most likely Ulani and Ulrich would be home by now... Aliya would be home but not Amdir as he's probably working with the horses today, and I don't know if Celebor or any of his children would be on shift, but I'm pretty sure Niyana and Ruque won't be."
So maybe it was best to try and visit Ulani and Ulrich again now and wait for later.

Earendil chuckled at her words. She sounded a bit confused, herself.
"Well, then, I leave it to you to choose," he grinned. "You lead the way, and I shall follow."
That sounded like a plan, since he didn't know where any of them (other than Ulani and Ulrich) lived anyways.

She thought about it, and decided it was best to risk seeing Ulani and Ulrich again, who knew maybe Ulani whacked him and then he wouldn't get on Earendil's nerves so much.
"Ulani and Ulrich's place it is then," Lin murmured, "Then maybe we can try Celebor's place."
With three children still living at home and from her understanding Niyana was a stay home mother, someone was bound to be home.

"Sounds like a plan to me," Earendil grinned.
As they continued walking, he wondered if it would be a good idea for him to ask her just how much of his conversation with Shael she had overheard. He was curious ... and fearful at the same time. Curious, because he knew she had to have heard something - it would explain why she had been acting so strangely immediately afterwards, and why she was still acting thoughtful today - but fearful, because if she had heard enough to know that he loved her, and was still acting nonchalant about the entire affair, then it probably meant that she was trying to show him that she didn't love him back.
Not that that was anything new, he knew it already; but still.
The whole thing was just confusing and nerve-wracking.

"Good," Lin smiled brightly, "You'll like them, really, as long as both are in the same room."
for the most part, she knew Ulrich got on Earendil's nerves but it was Ulrich, that was probably why Ulani was made for him. To keep him in line.

Earendil blinked at Lin. "As long as both of them are in the same room?" he asked. "What's that supposed to mean?"
Ulani had been in the kitchen the day before ... was that why Ulrich had gotten so out of hand? Though he had a feeling that it had at least been partially Donovan's fault ...

"Ulani is like my mother, only she hits harder," Lin explained.
How much that explained things was questionable, but in truth her mother didn't rein her father in by force but rather guilt tripping him. No matter how much her father would hate to admit it, he was somewhat wrapped around her mother's finger.
"Well that and it's just more amusing when both of them are in the same room."

Earendil chuckled softly. "Then I am genuinely disappointed that yesterday didn't work out," he smiled. "I really was looking forward to meeting them and visiting with them, you've told me so much about them ... I don't know, yesterday just wasn't a good day for me, I guess."
He felt his face flushing slightly. "I just don't know how else to explain it. Yesterday just didn't work for me."

"It's alright, everyone has an off day, and Ulrich and Dad didn't help matters," Lin replied, "And you're not use to them. Granted, I don't talk a lot with Ulani and Ulrich..."
And she knew her father's reasons tended to be different than Ulrich's reasons, though the two seemed to had have a lot of fun yesterday.

"You're right," Earendil quipped. "I'm not used to them. I'm used to teasing, I'm used to jokers, but the two of them ..."
He shook his head incredulously. "I know I've only met your father a few times before, but I do not remember him being like that."

"From my memory he has only been to the castle four times, two times was business purely, and the other were personal matters. The wedding, in which he stayed with Mom and tried to keep my... more active siblings out of trouble, and the first time was when he and Mom first became a couple and he was still trying to figure that out. I was also told on his first visit and probably his second... that Dad was a bit of a stiff."
She couldn't imagine her father being a stiff as it were, but according to her older siblings her father was all business and no play, and the only time he bugged anyone was because he highly disliked that person.
Or if you were Tracy because her father thought Tracy was a bit of a dolt.

"That's what I thought," Earendil nodded. "Nice to know he's lightened up."
He wasn't entirely pleased with the teasing, but he supposed it was better than being told to forget the entire matter. At least it meant he was accepted.
