Oh no, you're right. Even had it in her avatar icon.
Well within three replies someone called her on it and then the forum began to rip into her for calling the manga a cliche while being in love with one.
On the plus side she never really returned to reply to the thread she started. I guess she realized the can of worms she had opened and lift it alone, but that didn't stop the thread from going.
Now for the most part the people pointing out the irony were somewhat decent about it. They pointed out how both the books and movie had all of the same cliched points that she said that the manga wasn't worth reading. And there were some who did the usual 'TWILIGHT SUCKS!!11!1' drive by. There were even people who liked Twilight and pointed out this bit of irony to her.
But low and behold there came someone acting as the white knight in shinning armor.

...However it really irritated me how some people in this thread were so quick to judge. The fact that the OP had a Twilight avatar does not mean anything. I am NOT, by any means, a Twilight fan (in fact, I hate both the author and her series with a burning passion), I just think that the OP shouldn't have to go through such tasteless comments based on one's weak assumptions.
By then the person had changed her avatar but the signature line remained and I pointed it out to them and said

And we might not have been so quick to jump on her if she had provided more valid reasons why it's not worth reasons and give us alternate mangas that are worth our time.
Their answer:

Um, excuse me? Why WOULD she go through all that trouble to provide you with "alternate mangas that are worth your time"? That's not her job, and has nothing to do with this thread topic. You're not an customer waiting to be satisfied. The OP was merely stating her opinion on the manga series, regardless of whether or not you approve of it.
wink In my mind the passive aggressive side of me went "Oh hell no. No this person just didn't!" Because really I don't think that I was being rude in what I said. I mean really if you shut something down wouldn't you point out something that is better as example?
So I replied

Okay then she doesn't have to but it would have made her point- I mean opinion more valid and given us a better idea of what she believes would have been a better choice rather than leaving us to put together a profile of her likes/tastes based on her avatar. Instead she said her peace and I don't think she's ever returned (I give her points for not hanging around and stalking this given it's a story she doesn't like). Not to mention it would have exposed us to some different things to read and isn't that a plus?
If it wasn't for it being incomplete I would recommend Tokyo Juliet. Fallen Angels, Bitter Virgin, so on and so forth. It's not really that hard to provide something or another.
But what about other reasons as to why it's not worth reading besides basically telling us what we already know a basic shoujo consists of? Her assumption of this incomplete manga is just as weak as those you say ours are for commenting on her for being a fan of Twilight. We simply find it ironic and somewhat hypocritical (and it is on both sides) to like such a cliched book yet put down this manga for having cliched plot devices. Many may argue that it's captivating, that the plot devices are cliched but the way that the story progresses isn't, well we do on both sides that's just our opinion on it. ^^
Then someone else tried to do the same white knight crap with "I just love how every one is talking about how shitty twilight is, If twilight was converted into a manga you all would probably be drooling over it like this one."
I was oh so happy to point out that Twilight had been converted into a manga and still we were drool free.
Okay done with that. Thanks for reading. Moving on to a new moment!
