Hatori appeared on top of the gate and got down on all fours, taking full advantage of his alligator appearance. He knew from the chakra that he felt that something bad was approaching his home and he would be the guard that prevented it.

Hatori turned his head towards the Hokage and followed him out of the gate. He frowned and began to scan the area. He would take advantage to the Leaf's World Barrier Jutsu and use it by tapping into it with his chakra to alert him when someone not permitted crossed the threshold. He let out a guttural growl and released a wave of chakra.

Jaice moved into sight. He saw the gates of the Magma village in the distance, about a quarter mile. He cursed himself for his stupidity during the Exams and he didn't plan on making that mistake again. His fist slammed hard into a tree, blood blossoming against the bark. He'd reopened the wounds on his knuckles from his encounter with Naito. He jogged fluidly, covering the distance quickly. Blood trailed after him on the ground. He growled under his breath softly.

Jaice looked up, then sighed softly. He leaned against the wall below the gates. He hissed under his breath as a wound that had occurred before the exams reopened again. Faint flames sparked around his right hand as he drew one of his butterfly knives. He had sensed someone trailing him, though he'd never spotted whoever it was. A kunai pinned his arm to the wall, blood blossoming behind his arm where it was pinned stright through the muscle. He growled under his breath. "You can't frighten me that way," he spat out, not noticing Sei's landing beside him. Another kunai shot out of the trees, narrowly missing his head. He coughed an insult. "Man, if he can't aim better than that," he grunted, then a kunai pinned him to the wall again, this time through his left shoulder.
