Madeline smiled at Alaric. "I was hoping to get to that point, Mr. Gust. But thanks for taking the initiative." She was overwhelmed by the whole fiasco, but still able to think clearly. She had to in order to get out of this mess. I could really use a hug right now.
"We still have a bit of time before they figure this all out - we have to run. It would also be wise to team up for this. We can help each other out that way. Anyone have any ideas to where we should go?" After finding out who Connor was, she felt doubly guilty for accusing him. I can be such an idiot at times...at least no one got hurt out of this.
Suddenly she realized she never mentioned her name. "Oh, sorry for forgetting. Name's Madeline Vincent, but just call me Maddie."

They all lost the silent game, because after five minutes Kurtis' mouth opened and a voice that wasn't his issued forth.
"Who has dared to implant me in this being? I am not pleased."
St. Cyrill led Richard, based on directions from the hillbilly, to the scientist's labs, which were hidden in the forest and apparently well-defended. It was from there that they were shot down, so they headed there to find out what was going on.
The facility was a large, single building, surrounded by a chain link fence and patrolled by a small number of guards.

Madeline stared at Kurtis. Her mind blanked out at the...the substance's voice? "...I'm sorry that you are uncomfortable." She wasn't going to say who broke the vial - she wasn't sure if this symbiotic thing was peaceful or not. "My name is Madeline Vincent, in case you didn't hear it earlier. Do you have a name?" She'd prefer to treat it as an equal than think it inferior. It's dangerous to assume. Which I should have remembered before accusing Dr. MacMurray.

Madeline nodded at the being's words. "The Celeste Empire...would you mind telling me a bit about it and yourself? How is it you came to be here?" The more information, the better. I wanted a chance to study this, but I didn't think it was going to be in this manner.
