Chubbs hadn't seen the follower for days, or smelt the bad tingly smell in the air of his musk. It was almost more unnerving not having him around than having him around. Chubbs grunted and rubbed against a tree to scratch his back, the small thing nearly snapped under his weight.
Chubbs sniffed around and looked into the water of the river, even through the water the smell and taste of fish flesh beconed at him. He'd been eating so many of them lately, he found they were and easy kill, perhaps he needed something bigger, something to prove his strength on. Chubbs slowly reached out, and patted his paw at the river, looking at the fish inside.

She still felt the remaining pain from her change, but the call of nature and fresh meat called to her, the Komodo was mostly in control as she turned to hunting for something to eat rather then going to the cafeteria. She slowly moved down the edge of the river her yellow tongue flickering and her tail dragging through teh dirt behind her as sometimes it felt easier to keep her balance by putting her front paws, once her hands, on the ground as she moved. She could pick the scent of something nearby but didn't put two and two together not having seen David in a while. Evetually her travels along the edge of hte river found her wading in the water as she drew closer to his location

Chubbs slammed a giant paw into the water, sending it splashing everywhere. with a swipe the fish came sailing out of the water and onto the river bank where he clamped his claws into it's soft flesh.
Chubbs sniffed suddenly, and his ears twitched as something big gathered closer, and he shifted around with a snarl. He finally saw it, a large creature, coming his way. It would no doubt be after his food, and Chubbs roared and made himself noticed by raising up as best he could. What ever it was, it made a mistake coming here, suddenly fish was off the menu, and bared teeth shone in the creatures direction.

Wearing nothing more then a pair of shorts that barely fit with the thick tail she now sported Joli stopped. The Komodo glared at hte beast, it didn't care about the fish it was after bloody red meat. She hisses baring her own snout of jaggedy teeth her yellow tongue flicking at him, a semi familiar scent coming to her and her mind tried to place it as the Komodo prepared to defend itself

Chubbs snarled and roared loudly, he wanted blood, whether to eat or just to spray over the river bank. He charged quickly, racing through the water towards the hissing beast. Then a smell hit his senses and he stopped. He growled, only a few feet away and swatted at his nose in confusion. A smell, a familiar smell, something he'd been near before.
Chubbs glared at the animal and slowly circled it while sniffing. What was it that made him stop? He had only the need to kill and eat and nothing more. Then it came to mind, slowly, and he watched the animal. It was female, it was.. a mate, his. Chubbs started circling back the other way, this one he'd never seen before, but it was something he reconised. Chubbs grunted and snorted and got down on all fours, leaning closer.

The Komodo prepared it's defenses as the larger beast lumbered towards her prepared to switch tot he offensive. She was shocked when the form in front of her came to an abrupt stop, that was when the scent began to click in her own mind. She watched him circle her for a time before he leaned closed "David?" she asked after a moment, if it was him it would explain his absense to her...

Chubbs blinked as the mate made a sound like the follower, and snarled and leant back once more. It took a little while for him to stop and sniff at her once more, leaning forward again, he wasn't sure what the sound meant. Chubbs smelt along the creatures body and then paused, looking at it's face intently before licking her nose.
He let the taste roll on his tongue for a little while, it was not something he ate but he'd tasted her before. He shook it off and looked behind him. Mates get fed, feeding them lets you mate with them, maybe that's what he had to do.
Walking away he made his way towards the fish he had left behind and picked it up in his mouth. Carrying it back he dropped it beside his mate and grunted, telling it to eat.

Joliette hadn't let hte creature take her over as much as David seemed to have. But she took his offering as a good thing and lowered her head to it, she put a forepaw atop it's tail and bit into it tearing a fairly large chunk off. before looking at him once more

Chubbs grunted in approval and nipped at her neck playfully. If it smelt like a mate, tasted like a mate and ate like a mate, it had to be a mate. Chubbs moved his way out of the watter and shook himself off before looking around for something for him to eat.

Joliette finished off the fish then followed after him, she was taking in the details of his changes and they were very different. She watched him hunt, it was different then the hunting she'd begun to do yet at the same time so very different. "I've missed you" she says quietly not knowing if she'd get a response or not

Chubbs turned and looked back behind him, his mate following behind him, probably in wanting of food again. Chubbs was hungry too, and couldn't give it all away. His mate made the strange noises again and he looked back once more, maybe it couldn't wait and was getting hungry. Chubbs grunted and just licked it's face a few times before heading his way towards the cave where he had some food left.

Joliette followed after him curious where he'd been hiding and this seemed to be her chance to find out.

[New Rp]
As she had been doing many times in the past few weeks Awen was out for a long swim in the rivers. Now that she had gotten very much used to the waters the manta wanted space to roam. Unfortunately for Awen, she couldn't go out into the open ocean and swim as her instincts wanted. The only way she could glide through the water like she really wanted to was to do the lengths and laps in the rivers of the island.
Currently Awen sat on a sunken log close to the river bank. The jungle, for the most part, was quiet and the girl liked to relax out in the wilderness where there was less chance running into lots of islanders. It wasn't exactly that Awen herself wanted to be alone, but sometimes the village with everyone around seemed too..confining.

Pyroth still couldn't quite bring himself to sit around in the village, indifferent to the surprised stares he got quite a lot now but just restless when in civilised areas. He had found himself wandering off alone just to get away from the scents that screamed at him from all angles irritating his sensitive nose. But still, even when he was alone he wasn't fully content, the coyote looked for company when he did not. It was more confusing than helpful.
That morning he had been out for a jog in the jungle, just following trails he himself had made, trying to keep his awkward muscles strong and healthy, the more out of shape he let himself get, the more the muscles in his back ached with his near-constant stoop. Tired out by the run he exited the jungle on the river side, stepping clear of the undergrowth and shaking his fur to dislodge any foliage that had gotten caught in it.
Only when he did this did he actually spot Awen by the river's edge, she was different than he remembered but he wasn't particularly surprised, it had been quite a while since he last spoke to her, for all he knew he could just be developing a bad memory, mental images didn't tend to stick when they were made up of scents.
He headed over with a wave, amiable in his posture, totally unaware that his tail was wagging happily too.
"Hey." he grinned.

Awen turned her head when she heard a familiar voice from the jungle. She took int Pyroth's appearence, all the way down to his wagging tail, and smile in return. She hadn't seen the poor guy since just after his last change. The girl wasn't sure whether to be happy that he hadn't changed again or sad for him to be stuck in such an uncomfortable shape.
"Heya Pyroth." She replied in a cheery tone. She swung her legs around, for a brief moment revealing her fin-like feet from the surface of the water, to face the coyote. "How goes?"
