Well she tried, but it looked like she was going to have to get more forward in that matter. Even though Feng wasn't competely sure how to go about doing something like that.

"Well... it's good to try and like everyone," Feng agreed trying to think, "But to some people it's really nice when someone quite likes them."


Ryu murmured to Ulani wrly, for even he would admit his sister amused him, "She's been trying since last night."

"Quite?" Aliya was confused. "You mean ... like people you like better than the others? I have people I like spending more time with than others ... though there are also times I prefer being alone. But the teasing has nothing to do with that whatsoever."

Ulani looked curiously at Ryu. "Oh? Did something happen last night?"

Lin nodded, "Yep yep."

It was true this place did seem a lot more quiet than at home, and very empty. She hadn't thought about it before as she looked around the kitchen from where she stood. It did remind her a lot like the inn kitchen with of course cooking differences.

"Can I help?"

Aliya blinked at Feng. "So ... you think ... that Elros ... and Amdir ... and Celeborn ... think I don't like them enough, and that's why they don't tease me like everyone else does?" she asked, completely confused now. "Why would they think that? I don't treat them any differently from anyone else ... I talk to all of them ..."

"Ah," Ulani smiled. "Yes, that would explain it. The poor boy ... he couldn't hide his feelings if his life depended on it. And Aliya ... wouldn't see them if her life depended on it."

She shook her head slowly. "No, I'm afraid that no matter what anyone says, she will remain completely oblivious. I've toyed with the idea of telling her myself, but after ... some debate, I decided to let nature run its course. She'll realize it eventually, and I have no doubt that she will also realize that even if she doesn't know it, she returns his affection."

She put one finger to her lips and smiled. "Don't tell her, though, I'm sort of waiting to see her reaction when she does figure it all out."

Lin thought about it, after all there wasn't much she could do at her size which was always the problem really. Though she liked to help even though it was kind of hard at her size.

"I could... wash something!"

Aliya frowned. "They're all mature, they're the three most mature men on the ranch!" she replied. "Amdir's just the same as Elros and Celeborn, they're all just focused on their own work, too busy to worry about me."

She really didn't see what Feng was getting at, she didn't see Amdir as being different from the others.


Ulani was trying her best not to laugh as she also listened to Feng and Aliya's conversation.

"You have to admit, it's fun watching her try," she giggled to Ryu.

Lin grinned as she bent over to pick up a spoon, "That I can do! Six people okay!"

She picked up a spoon which could have been easily used as a weapon by her, and she set it down, counting as she went.

"One..."

Aliya blinked. "He's ... seventeen, a year older than me." She shook her head as if to clear it and shot Feng a completely confused look. "Wait, what does that have to do with anything? Are you saying he's too young to handle the work that he's doing?"

She frowned. "Come on, I do nearly as much and I'm even younger than him. Age doesn't have anything to do with how much work you can handle. He's doing just fine."


Ulani covered her mouth with her hand to stifle a giggle. "Poor boy ... he's going to avoid Feng as much as he can, now, that's for certain. It doesn't take much to fluster him, and I'm sure she must have embarrassed him quite completely."
