Eliza blew her nose. Her eyes were red and puffy from trying not to cry.

He saw Eliza about to burst into tears. "Oh, honey, are you upset because your husband is going insane and you keep losing children?" Eliza started to sob uncontrollably.

"Well.... there's not a lot I don't know," Lucifer admitted. "There are several logical reasons. A religious person would tell you that it's a punishment from God. A scientist would tell you that Eliza simply isn't strong enough following her illness to bring a child to term."
"Then, it is my fault!" Eliza gasped, crying uncontrollably. "I felt a kick yesterday! I don't want to lose this one!"
"I could help out," Lucifer suggested.
