The head of the America branch of the International Seishinkai Karate Union said he wants to test one of my students for junior black belt. The boy's not ready and it's way too soon, and I sent an e-mail to sensei telling him. I got a real nasty feeling that he's gonna push this and try to do it anyways. This goes down, and I'm gone. No more supporting organization. No more instuctor. I'm dead-ended.

Ms. Karen Starr *Cracks her knuckles* domokun I appreciate the thought, but the man is hard as a coffin nail and in a straight fight, Sensei or Batman. Batman is entirely screwed.

Ms. Karen Starr *Hug* How far does he have to go before he's ready? Maybe another year. He's 3rd kyu. To make sho dan he'd be skipping two ranks. There will be two other students of mine there who have trained longer, and are both dedicated. The boy in question would be skipping past both of them. That could cost me 6 good students because the two other boys both have other family member in the dojo. The kid in question will be a great balck belt one day. But not in May. I also know full well that he's getting tapped because his dad (another student) made a trip to Georgia for training last weekend, and is currently in Sensei's good graces.

Ms. Karen Starr Yeesh, stinks of bad politics if you ask me. You get up high enough and karate is nothing but politics. You don't get promoted by what you can do and what you know, it's if the higher ups like you. That's the only reason my cousin and I are going for 5th degree black belt in May. After that, my cousin, who is my student, will be the same level as me. He deserves it based on his skills, but he's not getting it because of his skills. I'm ready to quit, and just go train out in the wilderness or something.
