Lori wrapped an arm around Luca's neck in an affectionate headlock and kissed his hair. "About what?"
"Oh, no. I'm quite alright," Michael said. He eyed the cake and then looked back to Maia. He had been told that there would be cake. Bizarrely, he held out his hands to take the plate. Help her with them? Like what, carry them for her? Did she want to dance before she ate them or...?
"Oh, well, I'm... not much of a dancer," he admitted shyly. After all, he had been trained in classical dance, in social dance, not in the sort of dancing people did today.

"He told me that all my nervousness would be like it'd never existed once we were married," he smiled at the headlock and kiss. "He was right. I've never been so happy." It was cheesy, but it was true. This day was the best in his life.
"Help me eat them," Maia clarified, with a smile. "I told you I was going to make you eat cake. I thought we could try these together." Oh, no dancing? "I don't really know how to dance either," she admitted. "Toby taught me recently. I'm sure you're better than I am."

Lori chuckled and kissed Luca's head again, this time a little harder and with an exaggerated 'muah!' sound. "You did sort of run to the altar," he teased, and finally leaned down to kiss Luca properly on the lips. "I'm glad. I'm happy too."
"No, I can... waltz. Things like that." He looked down at the cake. "As for that, I'd be delighted." His smile broadened as he made eye contact with Maia again. "May I?"

"I couldn't wait a moment longer," Luca admitted, with a smile. He returned the kiss. "I don't know how to explain it. I was so nervous, but so excited." Lori was the best thing that had ever happened to him. "I wish I hadn't said anything about bad luck, being away from you was driving me crazy."
"One day, you should teach me to waltz," Maia suggested, with a smile. "I don't know any dances with steps." Oh, the cake had tempted him? She smiled. "I invited you, of course."

"The surprise was sort of nice, though," Lori said with a little shrug. Had they seen each other beforehand they wouldn't have had that moment, and you only got to do it once.
Michael bowed his head in somewhat old-fashioned agreement. It would be his pleasure. His powers in death might even make it easier.
He smiled then and disappeared, possessing Maia and spreading out into her limbs and head to taste, but not taking control.

"It was," Luca agreed, and smiled at Lori. "You looked perfect," he kissed Lori's cheek. "Should we go make sure our parents are getting along?" He asked.
"Which one first?" Maia asked. "Do you think we should mess with Toby? I think Dari can see you still, he cheats."

Lori groaned slightly. Their parents were very different people. At best they could bond over how awkward it was that their sons were gay, and Luca's parents seemed much better about that than Lori's own. He almost hoped that they'd parted ways after the ceremony. His parents had his clan to socialize with after all.
Michael looked down at the cakes, and for this he needed Maia's eyes. "This one," he said, and without moving or controlling anything he let Maia know he was referring to the human cake. The bond between possessing force and victim was strong. As for his choice, he did want to try the other as well, but the human cake was most familiar and he hadn't had wedding cake in more than a century. "Mess with him how? For now, I think, I'd just like cake." Though he could have forced Maia to agree, he didn't. That wasn't how their relationship worked.

Luca tsked and grinned at Lori. He kissed his cheek. "As long as they're not exchanging embarrassing stories about us as babies," he said. Parents seemed to do that a lot. Or was that a human-parent thing?
"Good choice," Maia agreed. The last wedding she'd been to--had been her own! "We never got to prank him," she said. Unless she counted Michael kissing Toby, but that'd been a prank on both of them. "Want to go sit down?"

"Honestly, I'd rather they be doing that than trying to not look at each other while being too polite to walk away," Lori said. He could imagine that happening a little too easily. Hopefully his clan was a decent distraction. He knew his parents visited more often than he did himself, though.
"I was never much for pranking," Michael said, apparently forgetting that he regularly messed with people for fun. Just because it had a different name didn't change its nature. Even back in his time people had fooled with each other. Victorians were different, but they were still human. He had done it himself, even, but it had been a long time and he had usually only been a secondary party. "Yes, please."

Luca almost opened his mouth to insist that wouldn't happen. Their parents were all reasonable people! They'd come, hadn't they? Instead, he took Lori's hand and gave it a squeeze. "I'm sure mom'll voice her desire of cameras in the past," he said. "Then they'll gush about every embarrassing thing we ever did."
Maia couldn't help the smirk that crossed her lips. Michael wasn't one for pranking? What was he doing then, when he messed with Seamus? She found a seat not too far away, and headed there. "Do you like it here?" She asked. She set the plates in front of her.

Lori froze for a second and something like horror crossed his face. Oh god. Would his mother have brought pictures? It wasn't out of the question.
"Oh boy..." he said, and then started tugging Luca toward their parents. They should socialize with them anyway, right?
Michael just gladly tagged along as Maia went to the relatively uncrowded chair.
"Here? What do you mean, 'here?' Ireland? The fae woods?" His voice was just a sound in her head, something that would frighten many people but had become pretty normal for them. It was a better option for public events than using her voice or, worse, his own voice out of her mouth.

Lori's expression had Luca grinning. Poor Lori! He allowed himself to be tugged. Parents were embarrassing! Apparently, that was universal. "Maybe they'll show me baby pictures," he teased.
"Both?" Maia smiled. Ireland was nice, but the woods were an entirely different thing. "Last time I was here, I got to meet a Nessie."

"Only if I get to see yours," Lori said.
"I've been to Ireland before, so that's much the same," Michael replied, "The forest, though, is impressive. They bring me to work with dead humans, not other entities. I've never been somewhere like this." Chatting was nice, but cake was better. "What flavor is it, do you think?" He didn't want to take over her head to lean down and smell it himself.

"I don't know if we have any," Luca admitted, but he was still grinning. Cameras weren't a common thing to have, living in the forest. "But even so, I still get to see yours!"
"Vanilla, I think. Try it, Michael." She encouraged. "You'll like it."

Lori nodded. "I think we've got some polaroids." Young-adult photos were just as bad, though. He hadn't always looked like he did now.
Only then did Michael take over Maia's hands and take a delicate forkful of cake. He tasted it like it was hyper-expensive mana from heaven, then smiled and sighed delightedly. It was better than he remembered.
"It's very nice," he said, and took another forkful, still traditionally dainty. "Do you like it?" Though the possession might mean she'd like it purely because he did. Could she feel how pleased he was, he wondered?
