"We'll check the cells first." Po-ar spoke as he and Aled rushed down the hall. "Mor-chan has my PE's at her call, should anything happen to her."
The Tarnb-jin Ou shook his head, "If Aoki knows we're here, he'll come after us, not your wife."
"We're not really married yet, otousan."
"We can fix that after this mess."
At this, Po-ar blushed...

Barely conscious, Watari heard Morrigan's frantic call.
Carefully, he reached out one hand, pressing a button nearby.
The closet slid open, revealing the scientist within. He had completely reverted back to his male form, though covered in blood and barely any better off than he had been.
"Morrigan-san?" he asked in confusion.

But Ainsu laughed, his gaze piercing the defiant look of Kaguyo's own eyes. "You're a pathetic fool to think they'd lose their lives for you. They don't know what will happen, Kaguyo... They'll live in their own little worlds, too afraid of Aoki and his power to do anything..." he smirked, "Too afraid of me to risk their necks for a woman that's promised them things with naught but empty words..."

Kaguyo tried to bite back the tears, but Ainsu was too much for her.
She couldn't say anything to this, closing her eyes and hanging her head as she sobbed.
"I'll never forgive you for this..."
But she couldn't speak another word, too overwhelmed with grief.
This nearly sent some of the crowd into a wild rage.
Morrigan's eyes widened, pulling the scientist into her arms. "Watari..!" she shook her head, "Don't worry, we're going to get you out of here..." she soothed.
She carefully hoisted the man up, supporting him with her shoulders. "C'mon. We're going to find Po-ar and get you into a portal, ok??"

"Your harsh words wound me, Kaguyo... or rather... they would your precious lover." Ainsu smirked. "But, all is fair in love and war, as the saying goes. In this particular case however... seems love lost and war triumphed over the pathetic heartbroken sobs of a playwright and his goddess."
The goddess whom he referred to was, none other, than Kaguyo herself...

Watari winced, "ITAI!" he shouted, trying to get Morrigan to put him down. "Iie... iie... Onegai, Morrigan-san... don't make me move..."
He could care less about getting off of Tarnbsei...
The poor scientist just wanted his body to stop screaming at him.

Kaguyo looked up at Ainsu with utter confusion, before gaping in disbelief.
She shivered visibly, hardly able to breathe, doubled over in agony.
The Muse! It wasn't Ainsu, it was the Muse, and here she was, about to die!
"I never meant them towards him!" she barely choked out, "I meant it towards YOU!"
She was starting to struggle again, trying so passionately to free herself, to pick off a cuff and blow off both of their arms... to do anything she could to live....
"LET ME GO!!"
Morrigan however didn't relent. "Time to toughen up, Watari. After you go through this you'll thank me for it. You'll be stronger for it. I know it hurts, trust me. I've been there. Like fourty five times in a year. Trust me. I know. Now. Just move your legs, keep your back stationary. I'm going to start healing you but I need to save energy to make sure I can summon the Goddess and keep us safe. Po-ar's down this hall. I think."

Ainsu's grip on Kaguyo tightened until it was incredibly painful. "Ah, but he heard them... He knows you hate him. Poor poet... his little goddess despises him above everything in this world..." the man laughed. "He'll have to watch as his precious Kaguyo-chan is murdered, right before his eyes, unable to do anything... Won't that be a sight?"

"Aoki..." Watari whispered, trying to focus on just staying conscious as they made their way slowly down the hall. "He... He's going... to kill... Kaguyo... onegai... he can't... onegai!"
The scientist was quite frantic about this turn of events. He knew, somehow... he knew...
He could feel that chaos was about to errupt, and that at it's core were five people... and five people alone...

Morrigan nodded. "He won't." she assured him gently. "She's not going to die, don't worry. Po-ar and Aled won't let it happen."
Kaguyo was going pale. It was almost amazing how tiny the Oujou, Councilwoman and actress was; when she had the confidence of her powers, she didn't seem so helpless.
Now, she had never appeared so delicate and ephemeral. She was the wind, the winter, about to be demolished and erased.
"LET ME GO!"

"I don't think so." Ainsu spoke with a smirk before nodding to a few guards.
Quickly, they strapped her to a raised stone dais, the woman facing up, her hands above her head.
"Now..." the man replied, looking over a weapons rack. "Do I want to do this quick and painless or... have a little fun with it, hmm? I bet those supporters of yours would love to see just what makes you tick... literally..."

"They can't stop them!" Watari replied frantically. "He... Ainsu and Aoki... they're too powerful..." wincing, the scientist tried to speak again, but his voice failed him.
"Actually..."
Aoki stood just down the hall from them, no more than seven feet away.
"Ainsu's about to kill her right now. Care to watch? I'll allow it, without even harming either of you... well, at least not any further than you are now." the man smiled. "Plus, I'll even throw in the option to NOT become a hostage with that package."

Morrigan showed no fear whatsoever; she didn't even jump.
"We'd prefer not to." she spoke calmly. "I don't engage in spectator sports."
Kaguyo hung helplessly, watching him breathlessly. **Aled... where are you...?** she asked desperately, trying to seek him out; she didn't even know where he was.
She was braver now, even if the weapons looked like they were about to cleave a flower to shreds. It wouldn't be hard to hurt her now.

Aoki smirked, "You both either watch, Morrigan-san... or we fight here, and I highly doubt that Watari-kun could handle another beating..."
With a snap of the man's fingers, a dozen guards, armed to the teeth, appeared.

"What to do, what to do..." Ainsu whispered to himself, walking around Kaguyo, appearing to be deep in thought. "I could flay you, but that's a bit messy." he spoke, citing off his options. "I could break your bones, but eventually you'd pass out. I could even carefully prob your organs, shutting them done one by one... a most painful process... done my way, that is."

Kaguyo began to pale considerably.
It was hard enough to believe this was happening; harder still to believe her executioner was Ainsu.
At least she had an empty stomach. She couldn't throw up.
"Su-kun..." she pleaded softly, "Get a hold of yourself... Don't let him overwhelm you... What about our play?? Su-kun... please, don't let the muse do this to you..."
Morrigan grew grim. "Aled was more powerful that you, and I sent him retreating in fear." she spoke evenly. "Be wise about this, Aoki. I am far, far older than you as well. This is not something you want to go doing. The Goddess is not a very good person to tempt. I am the Goddess of Death, Aoki-san, and I would hate to have you meet her on such terrible terms. You would never survive it."

"Do you really think he remembers it?" Ainsu asked, turning to look the woman in the eyes. "Aled made sure to get rid of that particular little memory." the man smirked. "He couldn't have his little love toy running off to play house with his traitorous wife now, could he?"

Aoki rose an eyebrow at this. "And thus, I offer you the chance to witness Kaguyo's dying breath. It seems only fair, since you came for her, after all. No harm will be done to yourself or to Watari, nor will you be held as hostages." he nodded slightly, "But if you insist on resisting, I'll make sure the scientist dies for your stubbornness."

Morrigan glowered at him, but she had been healing Watari for a long time.
It would be much easier for the scientist to escape, but the blood dried on him made him look a lot worse off than he was.
"Don't let Watari see this." she shook her head. "He needs healed. Where IS Kaguyo??"
**Po-ar, I'm in a bit of a pickle... Aoki's here. Said something about watching the execution or being taken hostage, killing Watari... you need to save him. I can handle my own. **
Kaguyo shook her head. "I know he doesn't remember that... And it doesn't matter. I know the play by heart; before you kill me, I'll leave him with it." she tried to summon up courage again. "I meant the play he and I were writing together just yesterday."
But even so, after a pause, she began to softly speak the words of his play, every word for every role; it was immensely sorrowful and eloquent, moving and piercing.
With every word, she began to speak louder, more confidently, especially when it came to the parts about rebelling against the cruel demon who had overtaken their homeland.
There were riots breaking out, but no one could get close enough to help her. She was creating an uproar of epic proportions that she had never imagined would happen.

'Stay there, Mor-chan.' Po-ar replied quickly. 'Tell us where Aoki takes you. We have to find Kaguyo.'
Meanwhile...
"Iie... Watari will watch. He'll hardly die from those wounds, though they must hurt like hell." Aoki smirked, motioning for them to go down the hall. "Front row seats are just this way, Morrigan-san."

Ainsu's eyes narrowed. He released the woman, though guards surrounded the woman from behind.
He nodded, and one of the guards cuffed the back of Kaguyo's head, nearly sending her spiraling into unconsciousness.
"You'll not die before Aoki gives the word." Ainsu replied with a half smirk. "And I'll make sure he refuses to give the order until you're screams have torn your throat raw."

Kaguyo took the hit, sharply jerking from the blow, head hanging as she tried to keep hold of herself.
She didn't speak now, her eyes hazed, sorrowful and yet furious.
"I won't so much as make a sound." she growled softly, "You won't have the pleasure."
The riots were spreading, her eyes becoming softly defiant. "They're not going to give up." she whispered, closing her eyes and taking a deep, shaky breath. "Su-kun... Su-kun, get a hold of yourself... I know you can hear me... If, if you give up on me..." she warned, trying to urge the playwright out, "...if you stop fighting... I'll never forgive you!"
She was starting to try and pull herself up, to kick any of the guards that came too close; she was putting up a spirited fight.
Approaching death, she had never shone so brightly as in those moments.
Morrigan sighed deeply. "Yes, yes, of course..." she muttered, although she was clearly irritated.
It wasn't hard to tell she had very little respect for Aoki, but she was looking out for Watari. Mor's thirst for a fight was hard to ignore.
He was fortunate that Watari was around to keep her in check.
She followed him until she started to hear the loud riots and pandemonium of the crowds. **Po-ar, he's leading me towards somewhere open... I've never heard such a loud noise! There's an ocean of people roaring, a stone... something---oh my goodness... It's.... It's....**
She gaped, a hand moving over her mouth. She couldn't finish the thought.
It was Ainsu and Kaguyo, with the former thoughtfully handling a wide array of weapons. **Kaguyo's.... she's, she's chained to a stone.... Po-ar, you both NEED to see this... I.... I... I can't believe it..... oh my goodness...**
Like Kaguyo, Ainsu was the last person Morrigan expected to be capable of carrying out such a gruesome deed.

Ainsu allowed the woman to stand. "He can hear you, but I'll not allow him to answer." the man laughed, grabbing one of Kaguyo's wrists again. "Your precious playwright's stuck, Kaguyo... No one can save him. Not even you."

'Does it look like a courtyard?' Po-ar asked, as he and Aled switched their plan and dashed down another hall.
~ ~ ~
Meanwhile, Watari paled slightly, "Aoki, what've you done? The people will..."
"I hardly care what the people do." the man replied with a smile. "I'm more interested in what happens when you anger that muse... after Kaguyo... I wonder who he'll destroy first."
"More than likely you." the scientist retorted before Aoki's aids showed Morrigan and Watari to their seats.
Looking at the woman, Watari shook his head, "Morrigan-san... we can't let him do this... onegai..." he whispered, fear evident in his eyes. "Aoki plans to remove Ainsu's arm... it'll destroy the world."
"Urusai..." Aoki spoke harshly, glancing back to the courtyard. "AINSU! Go ahead!"
Smiling, Ainsu pushed Kaguyo to the stone. "I do hope you haven't any last requests."
