Back again!
So after I left, I went to see my mom's parents. We went out to lunch, a total of seven people (me, my brother, my parents, my uncle, my mom's parents) to a really nice restaurant. A summary of said restaurant:
The doorwoman wore a rather lavish golden-colored dress. She led us to the elevator, from which another woman in a more commonplace uniform took us to our VIP room. Said VIP room had furnishings like those of a Las Vegas hotel/casino lobby, and a private bathroom. Fortunately, the bathroom had a toilet and even hand soap. We ordered so many different dishes. Two of those dishes had really delicate carrot carvings of roses.
And all this, plus the stuff I left out? Less than $30. My mom says that in San Francisco, it would probably cost over $500.
However, their English menu translations weren't so wonderful. I'll tell you some of the items on their menu:

That seems like a very interesting trip.
The only country I've ever been, besides the USA, to was Mexico. And that was when we made a wrong turn in El Paso. crying
