Problem is, when it comes to duel types they tend to have a double weakness somewhere. If not in type, then in stats.

Alas, there really isn't a superior type. As rock falls to paper, paper falls to scissors, and scissors fall to rock, it is an endless cycle that can not be defied by anyone.

From what I've read, Mai wants to swap with Kasiya so she can learn stuff about the main group of Rocket thrashers.

Kasiya and Mai switched bodies. Mai harnessed the power of an Alakazam's Role Play ability, so now she's in Kasiya's body in Saffron City, and the reverse for Kasiya in Mai's body.

The creators have it out for the fire types. Not only are there not many new ones there is about a 3 to 1 ratio already as it is of Water to Fire pokemon in the game.
