BORING. If anything was changed about that show,
it wouldn't be DBZ anymore.That's part of the point. A lot of people are ehhh about DBZ -because- of what it is. If I was concerned about preserving that I wouldn't have suggested changes in the first place.
I just think it's boring when EVERYONE uses the Kamehameha. It'd be like if everyone in Bleach could use the Getsuga Tenshou. The only thing keeping it from not being boring is that everyone had their own special thing, but that ended up getting drowned out.
I know the Shaolin thing wouldn't have worked since the story explained why he wasn't like that anymore, but maybe if his other moves had more to do with the Destructo Disk it would have fit better. I mean, hell, after DBZ, Yamcha pretty much stopped using Wolf Fang Fist, and everyone else traded moves such so that it didn't carry that feeling of "signature" anymore.
I agree with you about Roshi, though. Old masters should always be badass, and if the franchise was structured right he probably would have still been a meaningful character. That's probably why the first 2 movies were more interesting in their depiction.
