Torment was done, he smiled to Cora, "Whats up? How did things go with pops?"

:::She didn't need to understand the specific term 'pops' in order to understand what he meant. It was what she had been afraid of. Yet even expecting it, it shocked her, and she lost concentration on the glasses. The were close enough to the floor now that they clicked, but did not shatter:::
:::She shivered, but momentarily got her bearings back. She called over:::
X12. Clean that up...
:::She said no more. She felt herself grow cold:::

Torment saw her retreat from the subject and was about to say something, but stopped. He hopped off the bar to go pull up a chair beside her, "Do you want to talk about it? When I'm not being an a*****e or trying to damage technology, I can listen rather well, so I'm told." He cracked a smile, "I might even be able to give advice."

:::She crossed her arms in her lap, and barely looked at him. Her voice became as steely as her room:::
I don't want to talk about it. Your father and I... :::but she had no idea what Tacitus and her really were anyway::: We... we aren't the same way, anymore.

Torment didn't mean to pry, but it was his family, after all, "Cora, I know you may not want to talk about it, but if you don't it'll stay this way. Just me mentioning him shook you up real bad, and thats not natural. Get it off your chest, clear your head, tell me, you'll feel better. Is it because he lied, or is it because he died?"

Well...
:::She thought about that one before answering sarcastically:::
That normally bothers people right? When the one's they care about die? It doesn't much matter to me since I don't have a time anymore. I live here now. Technically, nearly everyone I know has died...or will die. So it's no big deal, is it?
I'm... :::defensively::: I'm not... I'm not with him anymore. That's all.
:::She really wished this topic would die:::

Tor retreated a bit, holding up his hands at first, trying to curn her sarcasm. Subsequently the two of them would discuss her living in the Brink, if it came up timeline convergence theory seeing Torment as he is is the result of such, and at any point he could Torment would poke her about Tacitus, trying to get at least something from her and at least get some idea of what the hell is going on.

:::But all Cora did at his advances when mentioning Tacitus was become more distant. All she would really say is that she and Tacitus were not together anymore. Or that they were not the same. At any rate, that was all she could say about it. As for timelines, she would have little of it... for some reason, these concepts were very abstract to her, and she made it a priority on her list of things to study in the Brink. She didn't care to really talk about it now. This whole situation was making her unhappy:::

Torment was getting rather frustrated, all his attempts at trying to at least stabilize his family were falling to pieces. Tor said one last thing as he got up and headed for the door, "Just....don't do anything foolish to make it worse or complicate things. The last thing we need is another problem to deal with." Whether the we refered to him and his father, himself and Cora, or what Torment considered his family as a whole, which included Cora and many others, was unclear. He didn't even say goodbye before he was gone through the door.
Pops had some splainin' to do.

:::Cora could have cried... she didn't know why. She thought she'd had enough of that, but the mere reminding of what happened between her and Tacitus wanted to make her break down. It was like somoene had grabbed her heart, and squeezed it mercilessly, all over again...
She couldn't stand it. Cora stood up so fast that the chair she was in toppled. She didn't care to fix it as she left for the hall and into her room:::
*Exit Cora*

*Enter Thea*
A small child brinked in. From first looks, she seemed to be little more than ten years old, long dirty blonde hair falling around her shoulders - tipped with a lighter shade of lavander. A smile sprung up on her face, before, she realised where she was.
Eyes darted from one side to the other, suddenly the little girl clinging tightly to her white dungarees. Well, not quite white, both knees scared in green from what must have been a field of grass. Thea stumbled a step backwards, trying her best to pick out her new surroundings.
"Mum?.." She whispered to herself, barely loud enough to be heard by anyone but herself.

One large black ear flicked right back against her hair, the edge of her black tail twitching nervously. Thea almost jumped out of her skin as someone replied, taking one step forward, her trainers scuffing on the floor - dragging her feet with each step.
Finally, her large frightened eyes met with the man infront of her. She frowned, just for a few moments, gazing over towards him with a curious look. Finally, picking up courage to speak, her hands pulled at her dungaree straps.
"Hello.....I'm Thea," Well, Mum always said introductions first. Pushing out her hand, she tried her best to smile, large ears staying firmly fixed back against her skull.

:::Cora poked her head out of her room, after a bit of a restless night. She had heard the distant sound of voices coming from the main room shortly after she started her trip down, and as she neared them, she realized that she only recongized the Captain's voice.
She stopped at the edge, not peeking out, just standing there to listen for a moment:::
