It IS?!?! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, YUUDAI!

Mine's May 24th.

Oh my god, that is one day before towel day ( a holiday in the Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy fandom) I'll but you a virtual towel ^_^

Thank you all! 4laugh And Ghoul, I doubt you need to go far to reach the kitchens seeing how the Hufflepuff Common Room is located near it. According to J.K Rowling:

"The Hufflepuff common room is accessed through a portrait near the kitchens, as I am sure you have deduced. Sorry — I should say ‘painting’ rather than portrait, because it is a still-life. It is a very cosy and welcoming place, as dissimilar as possible from Snape’s dungeon. Lots of yellow hangings, and fat armchairs, and little underground tunnels leading to the dormitories, all of which have perfectly round doors, like barrel tops."

But thank you all so, so much! Especially you Ghoul who gave me a fantastic gift! When you look at the Gaian version of an armadillo, it looks kind of like a badger without hair... Makes me love it even more! biggrin

I was wondering if anyone here likes Vampires?? Me and my best friend started our own Vampire Guild on Deviant Art and so far we have like 6 members and I am trying to recruit more, so if you guys are interseted or anything, just send me a PM. I don't know how many people like vampires just like us XD.

.... win or lose, you finish a champion.

Thank you so much, gerp! biggrin

I love vampires. I was a vampire fanatic as a child, still am somewhat. I was about eight when I read Bram Stoker's famous "Dracula" and the last novel I read concerning vampires were "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova last year. However, I don't have a DeviantArt profile, so I don't think I can join. But good luck! I'm sure that you'll eventually get loads of members.

A little useless sidenote, just recently I found a wonderful song concerning vampires. It's called "Bloodletting (The Vampire Song)" and is by Concrete Blonde. You may want to check that one out. I'm actually listening to it now as I write. blaugh It actually made me think of Sanguini from Harry Potter. We don't know much about him, but if you're good at reading body language, then I think you can make up an opinion about him. I sure did.

Coolness! A virtual towel! Thanks.

Ok, Yuudai. I'll listen to that. I like vampires, too. [Ex. I'm a not only a Harry Potter Fanatic, but a Twilight Fanatic, just not as much]

No, I would certainly not need to run far, especially compared to Fred and George, it would only felt as if I was running a long way because I go there all the time for midnight snacks and am now as a result a bit unfit ^_^

Orange_button - No problem, and yeah, the new virtual towel items made my day!

Which kind of proves that we got the best common room. We're not in some dark and scary dungeon and we don't need to run up several flies of stairs to get to ours. Not to mention, food! heart

To TonksAKid, congratulations on winning the Quidditch cheer competition! I loved your contribution! biggrin

Hi Everyone!! I also agree that we have the best common room!! Speaking of common rooms, I am "Puffilizing" my room XD. My friends got me a free new bed and it is a four poster bed so I asked my parents if I could put a yellow and black canopy on it. Since the Gryffindor dorms have four poster beds, I figured we did too! And also, my room is already painted Hufflepuff Yellow XD.

Also, if anyone, who likes vampires and wants to be one, anyone wants to be in a Vampire Guild might want to PM me. That is only if you WANT to.... we currently have a profile on Deviant Art and are very slowly working on one for Gaia. (I am tyring to recruit members XD)

.... win or lose, you finish a champion.

I agree with Yuudai too, we by far have the best common room!!
Gerp, I am so jealous of your new room. It sounds exquisite. The new bed with Hufflepuff canopy heart Take pictures and show alright?? ^_^

I am so jealous of you, gerp. I'd loved a room like that! And speaking of vampires, do we know anything about them in the Harry Potter universe besides the obvious? By obvious, I mean that they drink blood and shies away from garlic and sunshine. I mean, I doubt the Ministry of Magic allows vampires to walk around and bite whoever they want on the street. confused

I will take pictures for you guys but it might be a while because I haven't actually gotten the bed yet and I am leaving for Germany in about 3 weeks so I don't know if I will have time, you might have to wait awhile for me to get back to Germany.

As for vampires in the HP Universe, wasn't there a mention of one in the 6th book? When Harry and Luna went to Slughorn's Christmas party?? I don't think they really described him though.

Yes there was his name was Sanguini. He was there with the author, and former student of Slughorn, Eldred Worple. Eldred Worple is famous in the wizarding community for living with vampires and writing the book Blood Brothers: My Life Amongst the Vampires. I found it rather funny when Eldred shoved the pasty into Sanguini's mouth to distract him from the teenage girls giggling at him. xd The only description of him was that he was very pale, and gaunt, with dark circles under his eyes. I assume Snape and Sirius would give us some idea of how they look because both men were thought to be vampires by others in the series at some point.

Ah yes, I had almost forgotten about poor old Sanguini! I wonder if vampires are treated the same way as werewolves, being discriminated against because of their condition and such. Oh, and I found some other Harry Potter vampires:

- Amarillo Lestoat. He showed up in the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban game on a chocolate frog card. "He was a flamboyant American vampire. He wrote a book, A Vampire's Monologue, which was intended to bore readers out of their minds and render them more easy to bite."

- Sir Herbert Varney (who showed up in the same game) "...was a vampire who preyed upon London women in the 1880s. He was eventually caught and killed by a specially-assigned group of wizards from the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures."

- Lady Carmilla Sanguina (who showed up in the same game) "...was a vampire. She took baths in the blood of her victims in the belief that doing so would help her to retain her youth and beauty."

- Count Vlad Drakul (who showed...you get the drift) "...was a vampire who inspired the Muggle author Bram Stoker to create his famous character Count Dracula. Drakul had a son, Vlad the Impaler, who presumably shared his father's notorious reputation." (He's also a historic person in real life.)

- Blodwyn Bludd (who showed up in the same game) "...was a vampire singer with a bass-baritone voice. He was known as the "Vampire from the Valleys" and was famous for singing to people before biting them in the neck."

- Lorcan d'Eath, who showed up on Wizard of the Month on J.K Rowling's site, "...was a part-vampire singer that was widely fancied by witches. He spent nineteen weeks at number one with his song "Necks to You".

Just google their names, and I am pretty sure they'll show up for you. If not, then I can link you guys to where I found this information. And if what I wrote was horribly long, dreadful and boring, tell me and I'll edit or delete this comment. sweatdrop I just find vampires fascinating, especially in the Harry Potter universe where we know so little about them.

Hi everyone! I am losing in my first duel crying in the Dueling Club, but it is still a lot of fun! I hope more of you join!

I was suprised my cheer won the Quidditch contest. I thought it was a rather lame cheer, but I got my pick of rewards. I wanted to get a Morgana Hat and I was glad to win!

Germany, gerp 91? That sounds awesome! Are you going with your school or a vacation?

Well, the way I see it, the dueling club is all a game of chance. So the whole point of it is to have fun, and not who will inevitably win, as that cannot be decided by any amount of skill. I can't wait for my first duel against Diana Tregarde, I've seen all the duels going on and yeah, they look ridiculously fun! I just hope the odds go in my favour ^_^

I thought your cheer was really cute though. It filled my with badger pride heart
And the Morgana Hat looks beautiful on you mrgreen

At Yuudai - thanks for the list of Vampires. Lots of them are very cheeky! Like Amarillo Lestoat, obviously a parody of Lestat and the Vampire chronicles by Anne Rice. A lot of Vampire chocolate frog cards in the POA game. Is that odd to anyone else?
