Nitro had no time to react as the relatively weak beam connected, scrambling his thoughts for a moment and caused his vision to blur slightly. He stumbled forward, his body swaying to and fro chaotically. "Oh great, he's confused." Mike slapped his forehead, Winona just laughed. "Nitro, use a weak attack, do some damage to it." He began to think this was a bad choice to send out, his hot-headed Charizard. But then again, he really didn't have much of a choice. Xanthos would pummel it into a pile of mush, Beacon would probably try to marry it somehow, Titanium is a large metallic snake, so no, Felsic is still getting used to his new body and might overdue it, Portabello...
"s**t, should have gone with Portabello." He mumbled to himself, hitting his head once more. The Gym Leader took in a breath through her nose, exhaling rather obnoxiously.
"Ahhhh, the smell of failure." She wore a cute smirk, nudging the boy with her hip.
"Oh why don't you jump off the bridge." Mike suggested, a comment that only seemed to make Winona grin more.
Shaking his head, Nitro got a moment of clarity back, taking aim at the pest. Something weak? He never heard that sort of command before. Let's see...oh, why not this? After a short inhale, the Charizard spewed out cone of blue flames. They were nothing super hot, but enough to damage the Kecleon as the attack connected.
Shaking off the minor hit, the lizard lashed out his tongue, which was easily fifteen feet in length. It stuck to Nitro's neck, and reeled Kecleon in like measuring tape. The Pokemon spun as it was drawn in, wrapping the Charizard's face, neck and upper torso with his long sticky tongue as it proudly perched on his back.

Kilik took a deep breath and then looked over at Rena. "Well, the party's all healed. Let's go," he patted her shoulder and stood up with a stretch. I should probably get some new moves for the gang.. he thought, placing a hand on his chin as he began to walk out of the Pokemon Center.
"There's a really good Mart in Fuschia City!" she laughed, walking up and in front of him, walking out of the Center backwards. She stopped and held her hand out to halt him, "I suggest getting Toxic for your Weezing. It'll be a deadly attack."
"Those are only available to someone who has the...Soul Badge!" the boy swung his hand to his back pocket and pulled out his wallet. It seemed as if it was filled to burst. The boy removed his Trainer Card and blinked at if for a moment. There it was - the tiny sticker that showed that he had won the Soul Badge. To make sure, he scrambled through his belongings and pulled out a shiny blue box. He pressed the button to open it and gazed at his badge collection. In the place it should be, there was a real Soul Badge. "Oh! That's right!" He tucked the box back into his bag. "Koga trained me and had me battle his...Crobat, was it?" he blinked, "Or was it a Golbat?" Kilik shrugged.
"Regardless!" she smiled brightly, "You've got the badge! Just show it to the clerk and he'll allow you to buy that TM!"

Train yawned and put her hands in her pockets. Pikachu sat by her foor, sniffing the air. Train walked out of the city, and went to the Viridian Forest.
She quickly found what she was looking for, a Caterpie. She sent out her Ratata, and had it use tackle.
Ratata slammed into the Caterpie. In return, Ratata got a shot of sticky web over it. Ratata used it's claws to get free, and whipped Caterpie with it's tail, lowering defense. It did this once more, and then the Caterpie used a tackle of it's own.
Ratata hit the ground, and jumped to it's feet. Since Caterpies defense was nicely lowered, Train said, "One more tackle!" and the Caterpie lay fainted on the ground. Train was proud of her Ratata, it was doing well.

At the sight of the sunlight filtering through the sands, Kasiya called out to her Pokemon, trying to warn her to get out of the way. As the solar blast was loosed, the brightness peaked, forcing Kasiya to shield her eyes to keep from going blind. When the light finally faded, the sands died down too, and Kasiya looked up, sighing at the sight of her Larvitar collapsed behind a boulder. The young one had tried to duck for cover, but she just wasn't fast enough. Weakly the Larvitar raised her head, tears streaming out of the corners of her eyes, her expression clearly stating 'I'm sorry.' Kasiya felt a painful tug on her heartstrings, and she forced back tears of her own, terrified to cry in front of the grand ninja master. It's my fault, she thought, taking a strangled gasp of air. I should always make sure everyone's where they're supposed to be... Silently she recalled the young Larvitar, holding the Pokeball tightly to her chest for a moment. She unclipped the ball that rested in its normal spot, slipping it into her pocket. Three of her Pokemon were no longer a mystery, and she held up the Ultra Ball next, eyeing it, the Venomoth, and Master Koga all in a single, passing glance before she let it fly.
Casimir burst onto the field before her, pawing the ground anxiously. The Absol surveyed the destruction around him before he fixed his gaze on the Venomoth, sensing that this battle was important. He noted the Venomoth was in bad shape, and whoever had been out before him hadn't gone down with out a fight. The words "Aerial Ace" were barely out of his trainer’s mouth when he dashed forward, leaping up and slashing the air with his curved horn, sending a powerful blade of pure, unavoidable energy at the purple moth.

Karri took the damage head on. It had done a fair amount of damage, but nothing serious. "Just a scratch?" she said, cocking an eye. A moment later the green aura of her Psychic attack surrounded the Numel and promptly lifted him off the ground and threw him back down with some great force.
Mitsu chuckled, thinking back to Dewford Island. How Karri, who was on a Kirlia at the time, completely destoryed Brawly's Machop with her Confusion attack. "Let's make this a fast one!" Mitsu called out to Karri. No orders would be given, Karri was fully capable of handling the situation by herself. "I should have given Nightmare a go first," she said remembering the no switching rule that had been enlisted. "Ah well," she sighed.

Crenu stood in front of the gym door, looking in at emptiness. It was clear to him that Bugsy was either not there not not feeling like a battle. "No use staying around here then." He sighed, a bit angry due to the fact that this was his second attempt at a battle with Bugsy. It was late, darkness was encroaching all over the sky and though he didn't want to admit it, Crenu was starting to feel fatigue. "Guess I'll call it a night. I'll be back Bugsy...some day..." Crenu found a nice shady spot behind a building, a lot of cover for the night. The night air was cold and unforgiving, but Crenu decided it was good to tough it out.

Nitro tried to reach his hands up to claw at the Kecleon's tongue, but the upper parts of his arms were squeezed tightly so he couldn't move them. The same didn't hold true for his tail however. Taking advantage of the lizard's lack of mobility, Nitro wound up and smacked Kecleon with his flaming appendage. Not enjoying the combusted slaps, the Color Swap Pokemon withdrew his slimy tongue, but not before getting hit once more. It turned around, waiting for just the right moment and dove off. Nitro whacking himself in the face with his own tail.
A slow clapping could be heard, Mike and Winona both applauding Kecleon's efforts.
"You're supposed to be on my side!" Nitro growled, ignoring the giggling couple as he turned around to face the now fatigued Kecleon. "Now, where were we?" He reared back a claw, interrupted by an Ultra Ball whizzing by his ear, nearly hitting him.
The ball struck the Pokemon right on the nose, sucking him into the confined space immediatly. As it dropped to the ground, all three sat in anticipation.
Wobble.
Wobble.
BAM! Kecleon exploded out of the Pokeball, darting his gaze from side to side, confused. He had no idea what that thing was.
"Nitro!" Winona called out, cupping her hands by her mouth. "Use Ember!"
Mike shot a glare at the Gym Leader. "Hey, he's my Pokemon. I'll tell him what to do!"
"Then do it." She snapped back, leaning forward with her hands placed firmly on her hips.
"...Nitro use Ember." He said weakly, causing Winona to kick the boy in frusteration.
Meanwhile, back to the fight, Nitro brought the tip of his tail near his mouth, blowing into it. A spray of flaming sparks shot out, nearly all hitting the lizard, causing him to dance around in pain as they popped and crackled around him.
"Let's try this again." Mike said, hurling another Ultra Ball at the Kecleon.

"A Pokemon who attacks so recklessly..." he growled, "Is a Pokemon that needs to be put down!" Koga clasped his hands together, his pointer and middle fingers standing straight up. The Venemoth took the Aerial Ace and fell to the ground, unable to get back up. Koga felt his Pokemon's pain and immediately recalled him, tucking the ball back into his costume.
"Your Absol is clearly lacking a connection with you - a lesson that Kilik had to learn with his Koffing when he was here!" Pulling another Pokeball out of his shirt, he tossed it with a flick of the wrist. A purple glob appeared on the field then two eyes emerged from beneath the dripping gunk. "Come now, Muk! Use Toxic on that Absol!" The Pokemon let out a happy cry and inched ever closer to the Dark-type. He swung an 'arm' and sent a splatter of purple ooze in his opponent's direction.

A sense of relief edged into the young woman's expression. "Nina," she stated simply, a small smile crawling across her face. My, was she glad to see this fellow Gym Leader quite alright! And Whitney too! The last time she had seen the two of them, there was trouble abroad -- how serious, she didn't honestly know. Jasmine had gotten wind of some happening regarding Nina in Goldenrod and Team Rocket, but hadn't actually caught the news broadcast; thus, she had been forced to be satisfied with the little information she got.
Curious as she was, though, she didn't think it best to ask Nina or Whitney what had happened. No need to pry; it could be personal or uncomfortable, for all Jasmine knew. They might not want to speak of it now. No matter, though. As long as they were alright, she was content in her own soft, quiet way.
Besides, they had business to finish. Her Steelix had been roarin' to go, and so had she; to most Gym Leaders who loved their job, a real challenge was a treat, win or lose. "Yes, let's begin from where we left off, shall we?"
A moment later, a colossal metal snake materialized into the arena, letting loose an earth-shaking roar that seemed to vibrate within the simple, gray room.

Kilik nearly gagged as he was again flying through the sky. He clinged to Rena for dear life once more, burying his face into her back. His arms were wrapped around her waist loosely, although tight enough to keep from falling. "I think I should also see Master Koga!" he called over the howling winds, "He was my mentor a while back and I think it'd be nice to see him! It's been a while since I've visited Fuschia!"
She laughed. "Since when did Koga seem happy to see anybody?" she called back, tugging lightly at Pidgeot's feathers. She looked down at the ground to see them flying high above a section of the Johto region. Neither of them were familiar with it, but it looked very small. Possibly New Bark Town?
"Good point!" Kilik squeezed her midsection a little tighter, scooting closer. The arguement he had with Mazarin was still replaying in his mind. He always seemed to turn out as the bad guy in those kind of situations. It happened with Nina, too. He sighed, placing his chin on Rena's shoulder.
She looked over and blushed slightly. She was getting used to his mannerisms by now; how he hated Flying, how he didn't mind her holding his arm as they walked and how he was in different kinds of situations. Yes, this wasn't the Kilik that she developed feelings for in the Rockets. A warm smile crept across Rena's lips.
This Kilik was much...better.

POOF! No dice, the Pokemon just didn't want to be caught. Kecleon shook himself off, still a little confused about his second trip to the pocket dimension. It nervously darted around, evading the tail swipes and blasts of fire that Nitro was throwing at him. It tripped, allowing the Charizard to land a critical Ember attack on the downed Pokemon. "Ha!"
"Alright, sweet, now where is my last Ultra Ball..." Mike dug around in his backpack, a cold feeling in his stomach when he couldn't find it. "Ah! Where'd it go!?" He shot up, looking around on the ground. "Winona, did you-" His eyes narrowed. Winona smirked, holding the last Ultraball in her hand, tossing it up and down playfully.
"Oh my, I seem to have found it." She said with an overly fake innocent look, her eyes following the ball as she played catch with it. Mike watched as well, reaching for it quickly, but the Gym Leader was quicker. The girl wagged her finger criticizingly. "Tsk. Tsk. Tsk."
"Don't you dare Winona." He said slowly, tacking on a more threatening tone after each word.
"I have no idea what you're talking abou-H'YAH!" She lied. The Ultra Ball launched out of her hand like a rocket, soaring right past Nitro and scoring a direct hit on the Kecleon's head. The impact alone knocked him out, the ball drawing him in for a third time.
Wobble, wobble.
Ping.
"It's official. I hate you with every fiber of my being."

Off to the side Levi and Bahamut were doing there exercise. Levi was doing her best to hit the dragon, and failing miserably. While Bahamut was just swooping around probably not even aware that she was being shot at. As each shot missed Levi grew more and more frustrated her aim getting worse and worse. Seeing this Dante sighed, "Levi come here for a moment." He said two fingers motioning for her to come closer. The small water pokemon stared at him for a moment before bounding over to him. Leaning down somewhat so that he was closer to the mudfish pokemon a serious look on his face. "Leviathan," He started using her full name for once. "do not get angry when you miss. If you miss you are not focusing enough. Do not shoot where she is, shoot where she is going to be." He continued before motioning to Bahamut who didn't notice that she wasn't there. "I know its a bit hard with her, and that is why I want you to practice with her though. Once you can hit her you can hit anything. Now go watch her for a bit and only shoot when you think you can hit her." A light of understanding appeared in Levi's eyes before she nodded her head and bounded back to where she had been. Only this time she watched instead of just shot.
Turning his attention to where he could hear a series of poundings he could see Moeder punching the tree he had pointed to. Each one of the punches were shaking the tree leaves falling from it with each hit. That is until something else fell down from it. With a loud Squawk a Pigeotto fell out of the branches.
Wild Pigeotto fell out of the tree! Lvl 20

Seeing the angry pokemon Dante tried to push himself up but failed as his shaking arms gave out on him. There was a snickering sound next to him, looking down he saw it was Kenny. "Ha ha. Very funny." He said with an annoyed look before turning his attention back to where the Pigeotto was trying to Tackle Moeder. The large pokemon was having none of it though, once she figured out she was under attack that is. The fierce pokemon was doing its best to block the attacks with her large strong arms. "Moeder, use your Mega Punch on it!" Dante managed to shout from out of the window. The Kangaroo pokemon simply glanced at him as she blocked another hit and nodded slightly before turning her attention back to the bird pokemon.
As the Pigeotto came down for another Tackle attack Moeder pulled back a strong arm and brought it forward slamming it into the birds face. The force of the fist combined with the fact that the bird was soaring at him provided a painful experience for the bird pokemon. However it just wasn't enough to stop it. Squawking angrily the bird flew up into the air to allow it a moment to get itself back together.
On the ground Moeder watched the Pidgeotto through narrowed eyes. She wasn't one to let another pokemon push her around. After a moment the Pigeotto swooped down again only this time going at a much faster speed. It was a Quick Attack. Not able to bring up her arm in time Moeder took the hit wincing slightly as the claws scratched at her tough skin. Getting close to the Kengaskhan wasn't a wise move though as before the Pigeotto could get away she reached out and grabbed the birds legs. Enraged the bird flapped its wings and tried to bite and peck at the normal type. Moeder however ignored the attempts to get free and instead brought the bird to her eye level and glared at it. The two fierce pokemon eyed each other for a second neither backing down. However in this battle of wills the pokemon meant to be a mother would always win. The battle of wills done Moeder just snorted and tossed the Pigeotto away and went back to her training.

As training went on through the day Dante keeping a careful watch on them, and playing with Kenny a bit. Levi finally managed to hit Bahamut, who since then started to get serious and started dodging. However, like Dante said, you hit once then you wont miss again, the dragon pokemon was unable to dodge the attacks. They didn't do to much damage though seeing as the dragon was much stronger. The tree that Moeder was punching had a hole in it. Dante, who had started to feel sorry for the tree had told her to go punch a nearby boulder, which now had a small worn down hole in it as well. Shiva was busy trying to break the ice from the ice shield that she had made. Apollo had even wondered back and was going through different trots and getting used to his bigger more powerful body.
Around noon Nurse Joy came and dropped off food for Dante. Seeing that even now, he wasn't really resting she frowned slightly. She must not have disapproved that much because she brought food for all his pokemon a moment later. As everyone ate a hardy meal, their bodies needing the nourishment after all this heavy training. Dante wondered why there had not yet been a trainer who passed by.
As if summoned by his thoughts a young girl appeared in his view. She was wearing jeans and a pink tee-shirt with a equally pink headband. She had a rucksack over her shoulder and four pokeballs around her belt. Grinning Dante lifted a hand to catch her attention. "Oi!" He shouted just to be sure.
Not sure where the sound was coming from the girl looked around some before spotting Dante. Grinning she went over to his window seal. "Hey, you want something?"
"How about a pokemon battle?" He asked back with a grin to match.
"Four on four?"
"Naturally."

A shocked expression flashed onto Nina's face at the sight of the beastly snake. It wasn't as if she didn't know that Steelix would be used, but seeing the Steel-type caused her to recall the instance involving Mihoshi and Titanium.
And, Steelix seemed to be so much bigger than it was the last time she saw it.
Reaching for her belt, Nina gently ran her fingers along every ball that was present. Anna... Aphrodite... Mihoshi... Sakura... Krystal... Retarded dog wannabe thing... She knew that several of her Pokemon would have extreme advantages against the snake-- Aphrodite and Sakura were prime examples of this. She could use them if she wanted the battle to be a cut-and-done deal, if she wanted.
Yet, she felt that if she eased her way through the battle like that, it wouldn't be as meaningful as if she had to work through it. She grabbed an Ultra Ball, tossed it up and caught it once, and threw it out onto the arena.
In a brilliant flash of light, Krystal appeared in the arena, hovering, and leaving sparkles in her wake.
Nina looked to Jasmine, and nodded a little bit. She knew Krystal at least had the speed advantage in this battle, and she issued a command to her faithful Pokemon. "All right, Krystal, let's do this! Surf attack!"
With a determined coo, Krystal summoned a large cascade of water, and rode it in Steelix's direction.
