"Really?" Chuck said. "Wow. How old are you?"

Luke came bounding back from his room and heard Chuck asking the question. Before Cora can brave an answer, Luke says, "Hey, we're probably gonna head over to the girl's dorm. Aimee'll pitch a fit if I don't bring Cora by before tonight."

Chuck blinked, distracted by Luke's entrance. "That's cool." Chuck grinned and pointed to Cora. "Aimee's gonna go off the wall when she sees you're back in town. I can't believe you didn't tell anybody! We woulda had a whole weekend planned out for you."

Luke smiled at that.

Chuck nodded. "Well, good. That's what it's about." Then he looked to Luke. "So, are you guys coming back here?"

"I dunno," he said. "But I'll tell you what. Keep your cell phone on, and I'll give you a call when we know what's up."

"Sounds good, man."

Then Luke had a thought. "Do you want to come with? We can wait with you until the pizza gets here."

"Naah. Don't worry about it. I got a few more things to do around here." Chuck looked down at his watch. "I gotta turn in an article for 'The Crown' before I go out tonight. Doc's been on my a** about it all week, so I should probably stop dicking around and get it in so it can go out Monday."

Luke pointed a thumb to his man. "Chuck's gonna be the next Jim Nantz."

Chuck smiled. "Someone has to tell you what's happening on the football field. I'd like that someone to be me."

"Well, we'll let you get to that, man. We'll see you. Don't work too hard."

"I don't. Give me a call tonight, when you know what's up."

"Like it's my job."

"It is your job." He waved to Cora. "It's good to see you again, Cora. I'll see you later tonight, right?"

*Luke and Cora took the stairs out of the apartment building. To tell the truth, Luke hadn't expected Chuck to ask so many questions, but.... It made sense. He was studying to be a reporter right? He'd have to watch that.* "So... They only make cold pizza in Ontario." *grin* "I'm learning all sorts of s**t about Canada from you."

Yeah....

*Luke stares off, thinking as they walk down the lane towards the girl's dorm. It's a little way's off still.*

Cora, I've been thinking. With you being here, Chuck, Aimee, and the rest of the people we met are probably going to be asking you a lot of questions. They're curious. They want to know how you are, what you do in Canada, why you chose THIS weekend to come here.

*low voice* And we can't tell them that you've been stuck outside of time in a bar. And since you can't leave, I brought you home with me.

Because I think that might spark some questions. And I can only tell so many convincing lies for so long. Remember? We learned that last time.

*Luke laughs.* That WAS pretty good. *arms out* C'mon, you gotta trust me. I wouldn't have left you out there like that if I didn't think you could handle it. If things got bad, I would have stepped in. You know that.

I just wanted to see what you'd do with it.

I'm gonna have you take a'couple more. We have to figure out a story for you, Slim. And we have to stick to it. It has to be good, too. I got too many journalism majors crawling around.

*Luke squeezed her shoulder and waited a second. Luke had no suggestions to give on that... so he kept up with the questions.* And how long were you a police officer for?
