Poseidal Andreis Talking form a realistic standpoint.. shurikens or bolters could not/would not rend. The SM assault cannon rends becuase it has massive shells that are projected at high speeds and with something like 1200 rounds per minute. The size of hte bolter along with the shell size/rate of fire, would not redn, as it would not have enough velocity. Besides, bullets are not pointy, bullets have a point to sail through the air, but some bullets are hollow point because bullets are not meant to tear THROUGH an enemy, they are mean to transfer all the kinetic energy INTO the target, doing large ammounts of damage when the bullet compresses and and fans out. The shuriken cannon, would not even peirce armour in real life, no matter how fast it is moving. It is a monomolecular shard, giving it absolutely no mass and therefor being as effective as launching a paper thin peice of plastic. Try that sometime. LOL! The only eldar weapon close to rending is the sniper as it has AP1 on a roll of six. In the old fluff, Shuriken weapons were basically rapid-fire railguns, which makes a lot more sense than the current incarnation. Also, Assault cannons should never have had rending. yeah? you ever see footage of a mini-gun? more to the point, have you even see footage of a mini-gun tearing through 4 men, and truck in a matter of seconds? I should find the video but if you saw you'd probally change your mind. They throw so many shots at you that there's really no possible way to survive even a single burst from one.

I've seen minigun footage. All of what you said is represented by S6 and AP4. S6 also makes sense for blowing up trucks, which in 40k are represented by armour 9 to 11 vehicles, depending on how armoured it is. It should NOT have it's anti-tank capabilities. A minigun would not destroy a contemporary heavily armoured tank; much less a moving fortress of a Land Raider, yet it does so.

I can understand how you feel this way for a land raider but the assult cannon is a preety damn big gun (a LOT bigger than a mini-gun) one shell is probally the size of your hand! (sorta) that combined with how many shots are pouring out should make a it a rending weapon for sure against infantry.

Just a quick question, have the warp spiders been moved to fast attack? I need to know for the model contest.

Yeah I thought that was much better than having to actually play an Alaitoc army. Now you can have a bit of every craftworld in one army.

Jaistilin Yeah I thought that was much better than having to actually play an Alaitoc army. Now you can have a bit of every craftworld in one army. But not the full craftworld. There basically are no craftworlds rules wise. You can properly represent Iyanden, you can represent Alaitoc, but they wont play the same. Etc.
I dont mind them being an upgrade but the craftworld rules shoudve been left.
First my salamanders, then my snipers.

Jaistilin Tableau Daaamn. Why did they kill pathfinders? What do you mean by that? Pathfinders had their killing ability reduced, and they got rid of ranger disruption. Plus, they stil cost the same. D:

Tech Magos Sejanus Tableau Daaamn. Why did they kill pathfinders? Pathfinders are now an upgrade. But as a result they suck. D: I miss the old craftworlds... Sure, this one is more modular, but at what cost? AT WHAT COST?

Is it just me, or have a lot of the recent updates to Warhammer (40k) armies have blanded them up a bit?
