The Hutt had seemed to regain his composure since his encounter with the Jedi. With only an assassin droid inquiring about the incident, he no longer felt quite the same fear. He had revealed everything that could lead the sith forces to Corellia. Or here again. And wherever the jedi would go. At least, to the point where he didn't look incompetant or reveal his activities.
"We will seek out where your information will guide us. We thank you for your cooperation." HM answered, turning to head out the door.
"What about my compensation? The bounty placed on information?" the hutt asked.
"Even someone such as you ought to know about extortion. If we paid for every morsel of info, we'd be broke on wild kaadu chases in no time." HM responded. The hutt grunted a bit.
"I hope you get the vrelt; I'm not too fond of losing money, and less fond of wasting time."
"We shall see. In the meantime, continue with your illicit activities. If you want, take over the town. But don't bother that bar. Watch it, and if the jedi should return, alert us immediately. If we manage to capture him, we'll offer twice the normal bounty."
"I will not do it for less than five times the bounty."
"Twice."
"Four times."
"Twice, and you don't have to regenerate half your head," HM replied, as a red saber suddenly appeared in front of the hutts eyes. "If we capture him alive, it will be two and a half."
HM turned about, as Ferno shut the saber off and disappeared back out the same way he came; nobody seemed to notice except for the Hutt. Looking around, they seemed rooted to the spot. They seemed to wake from a daze, unaware of what had just happened.
"Mind Altercation..."
~~~~
"So this is the bar he is so attached to," HM noted, as he started to head for the door. A black arm shot out, as he turned to Ferno. "I see, master." Was his only reply, as the spectre floated in first, droid in tow.
Veira looked up from where she pouring a spacer's drink as a cloaked man and his droid walked into her establishment. She sighed in annoyance. Sithspit, what is there? A convention going on? She thought. "Hey Cloak boy! No droids! It'll have to wait outside." She called to the man.
Seeing that the situation had died down a bit, Gorwooken put his axe back in its place and stood down to watch Vaan's response. He still didnt' trust the chiss, but was willing to stay calm if Freya wanted him to.
Ferno seemed unaffected as the droid continued in tow. He continued his advance towards the bar, as one spacer seemed to defend his bar. Standing up, the spacer barely uttered a "Hey," before he found himself falling into the chair choking. Ferno didn't even need to raise a hand to perform the trick as it appeared for the time being he was going to be unchallenged.
"Unless you can speak ancient dialects, I doubt you have any other choice," HM retorted.
As a spacer began choaking, Veira slapped her Carbine onto the counter. From around the bar came the sounds of safeties being switched off. She stared unflinchingly at the cloaked man. "Messing with the regulars is a quick trip to your Last Jump. Drop him. Unless you're looking to be ash."
Ferno drew a red lightsaber from his cloak, but did not light it. HM didn't even go for his own weapon.
"I suggest unless you all want to be fried, you resume your drinks. This is not your fight," the droid spoke. The choking man suddenly went quiet, as the body dropped to the ground. He still drew breath, but for the moment, that was about all he could do. "All we want is information on this man," HM said, as a hologram projected an image of the recent jedi.
Veira frowned as she examined the Hologram, her hand never straying from the carbine. "Him? Yeah he's come in here before. What do you want to know about him?"
It didn't take long for Novak and his crew to make the modifications within the Taim & Bak dry dock. Then they loaded up the cargo and blasted off the planet. Within an hour they had jumped into hyperspace, bound for the desert world of Tatooiene.
"Honestly, must a question like that need asking? It would help us greatly if you would tell us specifically where he was going next, or if he was searching for something," The droid spoke. Ferno had already begun feeling out the emotions of several of the people around the bar. If he had wanted to expend the energy, he could have destroyed them by now. Instead, he did a surface level mind probe on several of what he believed to be the regulars. Not much turned up, as he expected, only a glimmer of a thought.
"Of course, should you try to defend him by sending us off on wild coordinates or tell us you honestly don't know, the end results may be far more disasterous."
Veira roled her eyes at the droid's threats. The sooner she got the bot and his master out of her establishment, the better. "He lit out for Tatooine two weeks back. He was looking to dodge some jedi that came poking around for him." She stated as she tapped her fingers on the weapon' casing. " 'Course, depending on the ship, he could have did his buisness there and gone by now."
Elladan kept reviewing th battle synapsis ever since they left for Mandalore. It looked bad on all ends. Three new classes of Star Destroyer, one of which was bigger than any ship he had. His forces were drastically outmatched, and now he was reeling from an attack. As if it couldn't get worse, Sven showed up with very distressing news.
"We have the final report on the enemy fleet, Sir," the human said looking gloomy. Elladan could practically expect what he'd hear next. "They've mobilized against us. Whatever cover we had is gone. Our position is being circled."
"How bad?" Elladan asked, as he pulled the datapad to him. It ended up bad enough. So far, at least thirty ships had moved into position around Mandalore, Taris, and Wayland, and dozens more were nearly done. There was even reports of another Revenge-class on route as well as one of the new Pellaeon-classes. They had more than a hundred ships bearing down on their position.
"Is this accurate?"
"As likely as it'll get, Commander. We have two days, maybe three before we're surrounded. I request an evac asap."
The chiss shook his head, rubbing his hair. He'd miscalculated big-time, but knew the risks all the same. "Contact Wayland. Inform them of the bad news."
"What about the Mandalorians?"
Elladan grunted; he'd almost forgotten. "Are they ready to meet?"
"Yes. And Taris?"
"Tairs should be fine," the chiss answered. "Too many people to risk. We can tell them now, and take what we can from them and leave. They might be willing to harbor us later. They'll be upset about the loss of their flagship."
Kalnar relaxed a bit, seeing that the situation seemed to calm down. "The droid makes a valid point," he agreed.
Gunther patted Rusty's conical-style head. "I heartily agree, Master," he said. Looking to Freya, he then asked, "What will you do now?"
Freya sighed, looking up into the early afternoon sky of Bespin, before putting her gaze to the two Chiss. "I totally don't know why, but I have a feeling that whatever else happened in the past, you're so here for a reason. Like it or not, Krayt seems to be yours, and the Community Alliance's common foe." She then paced between the two Chiss, sizing them up. "So, do you wish to meet with the Community's leadership, then?"
(( originally, I was thinking it should be a bit more elaborate. But, truth be told, we've been on Bespin far longer than I've had in mind, and I imagine that elvis and Padme are anxious to boogie on over to Naboo. ))
((I could post a breakdown of a Legacy Era Sector Fleet, You're underestimating the size of the enemy you're up against, and you can't retreat. That Sector Fleet already has deployed interdictors on the hyperspace routes out of your territory, its a miracle that the Noghri Team got through. They aren't actually surrounding those systems but your territory as a whole. Luckily for you there orders are nothing more then a blockade its my small force of ten ships that is going to be the one ordered against you.))
Borill Elsyn read the reports from Fleet Admiral Akla as he rode the shuttle down to Garos IV, with the apparant alliance between the Mandalorians and Elladan Kenet the rogue admiral had gained significant territory, the worlds of Contruum, Cartao, Myrkr, and Ambria had all been possessions of the Mandalorian forces that were now in his fold. With this the Fleet had been forced to expand the area of their interdiction, there were gaps in the coverage, but Elladan Kenet had far too much to move to possibly allow for him to retreat into the unknown regions or the core. He had three shipbuilding facilities in his possession, two small ones at Wayland and Taris as well as one enormous complex around Mandalore... MandalMotors.
Beside him Commander Tron of the Storm Commando detachment attached to his task force idly twirled a knife. Borill glanced through the reports before saying, "Commodore Kull declined an inventation to have a drink with me. I was wondering if you'd be willing to join me, I've got a case of Corellian Whiskey waiting at the hotel."
The Storm Commando grinned, "I'd be honored sir, I guess you're on one of the upper floors of the apartment with the rest of the senior officers."
"Correct," Borill answered as he snapped a datapad shut, "I'd like to hear your impression of Elladan Kenet's soldiers, you were a member of the boarding team after all."
The droid made no remark. It almost seemed dissatisfied, as if it had already known the answer. Of course, it was nothing more than a droid. "If you manage to see him again, I suggest you give him this," He said, giving a toss to a small figurine in the shape of the late emperor palpatine in his early years.
Ferno and HM left, without so much as a word, and headed back for the Slayer.
