She looked ready to protest Evan leaving her as well, then just gave another vague nod at his shoes. Might as well. Let the boys blow off steam their own way. It wasn't like she'd be pleasant company right now.
(Maybe Evan resented her too.)
Her grip on Gale's hand became vicelike as they approached, treating his fingers like a stress ball. Squeeze and relax. Squeeze and relax. It'd be okay, it always was somehow. The motion continued even when he started to work on the antivirus, her nails biting into the palm of her hand and wishing her shield would let her draw blood.
She didn't dare glance around to locate Tuck, even if it was to make sure that they weren't too close for his comfort. Stormy focused on what Gale did and tried to mimic, her hands trembling slightly. Her lips were pressed tight, and he might recognize the strained expression she wore.
Just keep talking.

Harrison relaxed some as Rep winced and curled up. It wasn't out of violence, or hate and fear, like it was before. Around them, it was still pretty scattered. Fights. Crying. Shouting.
He reached out to touch Rep's arm. The wedding band brushed Rep's shoulder.
"Hey," he rasped.

"Oh...if you are sure." Noemi sighed, "I will scoot closer to you if cold? Body heat is good for warmth, and hugs. Shu taught me this." For a brief moment, Noemi's face paled as she thought of her best friend, whipping out her phone and looking at the text messages. They had been sent when this all started but now was her friend?Meegane Text to Shu: Where are you. are you safe? Noemi startled again at Abbi and then blinked. "Oh...but...I couldn't..." she breathed out, "I cried...in middle of field. Cause...Cause I was so scared. Evan and Stormy are very much right...I am not good for field at all." She'd go home and just work harder in the infirmary and learning to be a nurse. That was her goal, she wasn't aiming to be good on the field...
"You are so bright and cheerful, like Milo." She smiled at Abbi, "It makes me feel better, sort of...um, like magic?" She nodded, searching the runes more. "I will help. Si. I will do my best."

Heidi felt she was being watched and looked up, meeting Stormy's eyes and offering her a bright, closed eyed smile. She waved, shaking her head. No, she was going to go on ahead by herself. She'd find something to do. Like those antiviruses, those were important. She continued on her way, not looking at anyone. She'd find something to do until they could all leave, and then..she and Tuck would have a talk. After his jog, apparently. It was necessary. As someone pat at her back she gasped and whirled around on her heel, arrow drawn and bow aimed at--oh. Green eyes widened. "Y..yeah.." She forced out a laugh and relaxed, holding Matilda loosely at her side and smiling up at Evan. "Sure, I guess. I suggested to Tuck we try and make more antiviruses, but uh..I could hit a few things, yeah! 'Sides, you're a Sun, y'need a Moon, right?" Heidi raised Matilda. Despite her being a bow she was pretty fun to defend with. "Lead on, man."

Rep made a sound that - had he been in his normal emotional state of mind - he would have been ashamed about, a weak little whimper that hardly even sounded like the redhead's normal voice. The contact was what he sought and he didn't lean away from it. Part of him felt weak for that, he'd hurt Harrison, said horrible things to him and here he was needing his comfort when it should have been the other way around, he should have been apologizing already, saying he was sorry, he hadn't meant the s**t he'd said.
But he couldn't, he couldn't uncurl because he would lose it, and even without the paranoia, there were still enemies all around him, enemies he lived with every day.

Lydia had a tendency to attach herself to those who gave her any amount of positive attention instantly, caring for them deeply whether or not the feelings were mutual. She had come to expect, over the years, that people would simply find her too strange to want to put up with for long, however, and over time had grown used to finding herself separated from those that she cared about all too soon. She would never dwell on it long, however, always taking these moments in stride, moving on, moving past. The few friendships she had made since waking up on deus felt different somehow, like these were people who understood, accepted, and would not leave her no matter how strange or nutty her behavior might be. She appreciated it, more than she could say or ever express. And so, instead, she smiled. She held on to the joy of each small experience, of each hug, of each small touch or gesture of friendship, and she let that joy show in her face. She was glad to see Arorangi had been safe this whole time, and Oliver as well, despite barely knowing the young man. He seemed kind and gentle. She liked being around him, even if he did tend to worry an awful lot! Humming to herself under her breath, she nodded in agreement to Arorangi's words, her hair falling in front of her eyes so that she had to huff out a breath to blow them away again. Getting her hand on another piece she attempted to do as Aro had, trying to find a way for them to fit together, her smile slipping as her face now screwed up into a look of intense concentration. Eventually, they clicked together, and she beamed at Aro and Oliver both, holding hers up. "Look look! Me too!" She chirped happily, rocking on her heels in excitement. "I'm okay. I didn't get hurt," Harrison lied. "Just tired. Can you get up?"
Harrison didn't know if he could lift him or not. You're okay. We're okay.
"Think we're in...I don't know. What's left of somebody."

The titled smile came back as Abbi sighed, a frank look falling onto her face. There was a lot she wanted to say, so much in fact and half it was stuff she wanted to tell herself too. But it felt prudent to edit herself with a mission to finish, especially one that would help others or hopefully prevent more situations like this in the future. "Noemi, like... Dude. My first field experience? I got eaten by sand and almost died like twelve times and two separate people had to carry me to safety at totally different times cause I was so freaked and out of it. And then a frickin' wheel chair fell on me and some bugs spit acid on me and I cried through most it. Hash-tag true story." Another sigh left her and she did a little hop, her hands still attached to Noemi's shoulders. "You know what? Evan and Stormy are totes wrong." It felt odd to say that, half because she didn't know Evan and half because generally Abbi felt Stormy was pretty well versed in everything and sane enough to make accurate decisions. But she had a point to make, so if that meant contradicting Stormy, so be it! "You're great for field. You're gentle and small, which makes you a smaller target, A+ on that!" Another laugh and another hop because her editing wasn't working. "What I'm tryin' ta say is... If you wanna be good at field work, you gotta work on it! You know nobody here at Deus was a champ their first go and I bet you everyone has cried on the field at least once, if not like... Every time. Everyone gets scared, it happens. But what we have to concentrate on is... Fighting the scary stuff."OK that had gotten a little longer than she wanted and in an effort to shut herself up she grabbed a rune and wiggled it at Noemi. "I'm totes a White Mage and I just cast Esuna." On second thought that might only confused Noemi more wait... Anti-virus: 1/3HA HA HA I'M AN IDIOT WHO CAN'T READ INSTRUCTIONS DON'T MIND ME I'M SORRY FOR BEING SO RIDICULOUSLY DUMB WOW AYE F++++++

SASHA HAS THE PARANOIA VIRUSSasha swung at Dakota again, her face twisted. HP: 16/60 DMG: 7 TAR: Dakota CHG: 3/3 Quote: She can't recognize friend from foe, and everyone to her looks terrifying. There is no hunger however, just paranoia, an extreme case of it. She has half her HP and can attack as per usual. If she does more than 10 damage in a single turn, anyone surrounding her also contracts that paranoia (can't tell friend from foe/ everyone looks like a terrifying enemy), at half health. If anyone with the virus reaches 0 HP, they can be KO'ed to be treated the same way. Anyone who contracts the virus also spreads it by dealing more than 10 damage in a single turn.Anyone with this strain of virus should post that they have the paranoia virus in bold goldenrod + in ooc below list its effects! This virus cannot overlap with the existing one.

There was silence for a few long moments and it seemed as if he hadn't heard the question, but he slowly uncurled, looking positively wretched. People on the other side of the room were still scuffling. He gave Harrison a teary look. He didn't believe him that he was just tired, not even a little bit, he'd felt the give and take of his shield.
"Physically. Aye." he said. His body could stand, he just didn't know if he had the willpower to do so.
"Listen." His voice broke. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean any of that s**t. I was so. I was so ******** afraid." He couldn't remember when he'd been that scared, not since he'd been small. "I.. I. I promised." and just as he'd feared, he lost his composure again, covering his face as he wrestled with his emotions to try and subdue them.

-- KOSTYA IS AFFLICTED WITH THE PARANOIA VIRUS -- She launched herself at him and that was all it took. The power was there for the taking, waiting, untapped. Power that was the dark of dreams, that sat upon a throne, that lurked where his darkest corners laid untouched by the light. There were a lot of good things in Kostya's life, but they were all untouchable now. There was only Mimsy, foul and silent and sharp around the edges. There was only Mimsy, whose teeth tore into his flesh. With a calm, steady hand, Kostya embraced her. His eyes, fixed on Robert, were black from lid to lid. A trickle of blood slid down his face dripping down his chin, copper and sluggish. Kostya pressed Syntax's barrel to her side as they toppled to the ground, the electric whine of him growing louder, and he fired. hp// 16 dmg// 12+5=17 target// Mimsy charge// 3/3 Quote: He can't recognize friend from foe, and everyone to him looks terrifying. But it is stronger than he is, and he is not yet a vessel that can easily use it at will. Quote: If Kostya chooses to use Vengeance, his pupils will blacken and his nose start to bleed. 1st attack: add 5 dmg to your roll hit or miss 2nd attack: add 10 dmg to your roll hit or miss 3rd attack: he passes out before he manages it

His response to seeing Chel go overboard with her attack was to be unimpressed. But at least Ripley's not quite sane behavior was no longer a nuisance.
"That was what I meant," he told Finn simply. "Granted, I doubt that would have worked without extra coercion as Craft displayed, though not so heavy-handed next time, damn. Either way, he was already acting somewhat volatile and hallucinating and needed to be restrained. Unless," he raised his brows at Finn, "Crowell is normally a spineless, ranting idiot that lashes out based on assumptions when under pressure?"
Defending him, while understandable, was being judged.
He had not actually been certain the shot they were giving the infected would work on Ripley, but the tech that rushed past them seemed to think so. At any rate, Jack fixed his coat with an air of finality. "You can make sure he's back to normal. I'm going to check out the antivirus process," he told them, turning and heading over to the growing group to find his spot.
Akina Tokuwa In case you need an update: basically Ripley contracted a paranoia virus, Finn defended against the people attacking him, and Chel subdued him with a punch!

She hadn't pulled away, which was a good sign; if anything, her grip had become stronger, and Gale gave Stormy's fingers what he hoped was a reassuring squeeze. He could feel the tension radiating off of her in waves, and he glanced around at everyone around them, trying to figure out who was still in their right frame of mind.
...clearly not all of them. Gale quickly turned his attention back to the matter at hand.
"When we get back," he said as he worked. "We can get some hot chocolate and some tea and biscuits and just sit and cuddle. Maybe we can even take a holiday somewhere; I still have some leave saved up - a lot of leave, actually, we could go to the Louvre, in Paris, or maybe we could go to that Harry Potter theme park in America."
The thing in his hands cracked apart, and suddenly his fingers were glowing a bright green. Gale gave a little curse and a sigh, dropping the now useless materials and reaching for a second set. Jinhai made a soft noise in his head, and Gale's eyes flickered towards Stormy again.
"We could go get ourselves wands."
