Arielle Shore
"Anytime, Athena," Arielle said with a smile, nodding when she asked if they were ready to go. She looked over at Kedrick and smiled at him, taking hold of his hand.
"I feel like we're going off to see the Wizard," Maria said with a giggle, "And since Kedrick is the only guy in this little group, that makes him Dorothy."
Arielle giggled and leaned her head to look at Maria, "So, if Kedrick is Dorothy, who are Athena, yourself and I supposed to be? And who's Toto?"
Maria paused, giving it some thought. "Well, Toto would be Dimitri," Maria said, getting her mind to think, "I'd say that I'm the Tin Man, Athena's the Lion, and you, Arielle, are the Scarecrow."
"I would've thought you'd be the Scarecrow, Maria," Arielle said with a teasing smile."
"Oh please," Maria said, waving her free hand, "I've gotten to grow more sense over the years. Probably not always evident when I'm rash, but still."
Arielle laughed and gave it some thought. Maria definitely wouldn't be the Tin Man since he had no heart, but he still knew how to love minus that. She could hardly see Maria being like that, unless she thought of her flirtatious habits. Then she pondered the role that Maria gave Athena, which was that of the Lion. She never saw Athena as cowardly, but maybe there were a few things that makes her lose her courage that even Arielle doesn't know about. Then her thoughts wandered to herself and how she reflected to the Scarecrow. She could still hardly see it, but she was sure that somewhere, she probably did act like the Scarecrow.
She finally looked up at glanced at both Athena and Kedrick. "Do either of you agree with Maria's claims. Well, we can't say much on Kedrick's side since he's Dorothy," Arielle smiled before continuing, "But I'm sure you have your own thoughts on this as well."
Maria smiled and looked over at Dimitri as he began talking to her. She gently squeezed his fingers and gave his question some thought. To some extent, she had assumed that seeing his home was a no, but she couldn't help but realize that she would've seen it sometime or another. A light laugh escaped her before nodding. "Definitely," Maria said before her smile turned into a teasing smirk, "I'm guessing you realized that the power of my stubbornness was too much that you had to give in to my request?"

♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Kedrick smiled vaguely, not really listening to the girl's conversation, only gathering that it was something about the wizard of Oz. He was too busy contemplating the warm breeze and the beautiful day, he was sure what they where saying would sink in soon. Dimitri smirked at her. "Yeah, that's what I figured...just don't let me forget to write down my address for you." He teased lightly. Now that Dimitri had gotten over being nervous about what Maria would think of his pigsty of an apartment, he was actually anxious to get it over with. 'Then she could come over and I could see her more often...' he thought, a small smile touching his lips.
Suddenly Dimitri paused, a slight frown appearing between his eyebrows as he thought about what the girl's hand been talking about. "Hey...Wait a second...." He said with a scowl, looking over and seeing that it was slowly dawning on Kedrick as well. "How do you figure that I'm Toto?""Yeah..." Kedrick said with a frown. "And Dorthy? Seriously?" He asked, looking over at Arielle and Maria who had started the whole thing. "And since when is Kedrick the only guy here? What's that supposed to mean?" Dimitri asked, trying his very best to sound offended, a scowl still playing on his features.Athena smiled over at Dimitri, she still didn't understand him, and wasn't so sure how well she liked him, but she did feel like she had to tease him a bit. "I think it works very well." He stated matter-of-factly.
"How do you figure?" Kedrick asked, trying just as hard as Dimitri to be disgruntled.
"Well..." Athena said thoughtfully, resting one fore-finger on her chin and looking up a bit. "You, Kedrick, are the only real guy here, because Dimitri's so tiny he hardly counts-" Dimitri tried to interrupt her with an angry, frazzled outburst, but she continued, cutting him off. "And that tininess counts for him being Toto as well...plus the black hair...And you two are such good friends that you couldn't possibly be anyone else." She reasoned.
"I dunno..." Kedrick said, looking over at Dimitri curiously. "I think Dimitri makes a good cowardly lion." He said, looking Dimitri meaningfully in the eyes, still trying to push him in the right direction when it came to Maria."Shove off." Dimitri said, scowling, but then allowed a small smirk to touch his lips. "I think you make a very pretty Dorthy." He jabbed back."Kedrick's face fell. "Shut up...." He grumbled, his cheeks flushing pink with irritation and embarrassment.
Kyla looked up from were she had once again been unusually quiet. "Hey! What about me?!" She asked, her voice pitching slightly, clearly disgusted that she had been forgotten. Kyla resolved not to be quiet anymore so she wouldn't get forgotten again.
"You..." Athena started, but Kyla cut her off before she could even start to think.
"How about the wicked witch of the East?" She said, skipping a few steps to come into step with them. "I've always thought that a nice way to die would be to get crushed by a flying house." She said, in the same matter-of-fact tone that Athena had used earlier.
"Hmmm...Maybe that's kind of fitting..." Her sister mused, looking over at her and ruffling Kyla's mop of thick, short brownish hair. "And if you're the wicked witch of the east, that makes Sakimi the wicked witch of the west!" She said, giggling, clearly delighted at the idea.
Kyla cackled with delight, tipping his head back and sighing. "Perfect..." She breathed.

Arielle Shore
"There's no way I'm going to let you forget that easily, chico," Maria said with her own smirk and gently squeezed his fingers. Already she was trying to plan what she could make and bring for him, or maybe if she should pack some cleaning supplies. She smiled lightly at the thought, thinking that she would be going to "war" for the sake of cleaning his supposed pigsty. He hasn't even seen Eneas' and Ulises' room. They were so much worse, she thought, remembering the days when her older brothers' rooms were like three natural disasters went on throughout their room.
She realized that Dimitri and Kedrick had finally caught themselves up with their Wizard of Oz conversation. She grinned brightly and tried to hold in her fit of giggles, but she knew that would fail at some point, which was when Athena had explained why Dimitri made a perfect Toto. She saw nothing wrong with his size, but she did agree on how close the two were. She wanted to ask why Kedrick thought Dimitri would be the Cowardly Lion when Kyla brought herself into the conversation.
Arielle listened, enjoying the company of all her friends. The Wizard of Oz conversation proved to be more interesting than she would've imagined, but it didn't matter because everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. She was also curious about what Kedrick meant, but, unlike Maria, she knew where Kedrick was hinting at and only hoped that he and Dimitri wouldn't break out into an argument about that. She listened as Kyla wanted to figure out where she would count into the whole character scheme and couldn't help but laugh when she was named as the Wicked Witch of the East and Sakimi was the Wicked Witch of the West.
"So," Arielle said after the laughter had died down a bit, "All we need is Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, the Munchkins from Munchkinland, the Wizard, and the Flying Monkeys."
"Oh that last one is easy," Maria said with a small smirk, "Eneas and Ulises are perfect Flying Monkeys... They smell as bad as them too sometimes." She somewhat muttered that but it could still be heard throughout their group. She laughed and soon she could hear the sound of Arielle's laughter joining in.
"Actually," Arielle said, "Even though you may be true about your brothers, I really think Athena is more like Glinda the Good Witch of the North. I mean, she's a total sweetheart."

♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Athena smiled slightly and blushed, ducking her head so that her hair slid in a partial curtain over her face. "Oh stop Arielle, you're going to make me blush." She teased lightly, looking up and tucking the strands of hair that had pulled loose back behind her ear.
"it's too late for that." Kyla piped up, still determined not to be forgotten. "You're already all pink...you know." She started again, "I think Sakimi would smack me if she knew I had dubbed her the wicked witch of the west." She said, looking up at the clouds as they filtered into the food line. Kyla picked up a paper plate, and shoved the other one unceremoniously at Athena.
Athena took the plate with a small smile in her brash younger sisters direction. "So, we now have Dorthy and Toto," She said, pointing to Kedrick and Dimitri, who both grumbled under their breath. Neither of them seemed pleased with their part. "We have the wicked witch of the east, west and north and we have...wait..." She trailed off uncertainly, looking between Arielle and Maria. "What did we decide for you two?" She asked, a small frown appearing between her eyebrows. She couldn't quite remember, she knew they had talked about Maria being the tin man and Arielle being the scarecrow, be she had thought there was some dispute of the matter. "If you're the tin man..." She said, pointing at Maria. "And you're the scarecrow..." She said, pointing to Arielle in turn and then looking confused. "That still leaves us short one cowardly lion..." Dimitri frowned slightly. "That does present a problem..." He mused, rubbing his chin and looking down, avoiding Kedrick's purposeful glance. "I think it's quite a problem." Kedrick said, his gaze locked on Dimitri. "Some one ought to speak up." He said, although if Dimitri had read between the lines properly, he shoulder have heard something along the lines of 'This is bad Dimitri, you need to tell her.' "I dunno." Dimitri said with a shrug, looking up at Kedrick evenly, his voice not faltering. "Who says we really need a cowardly lion?" 'I don't need to tell her. Butt out Kedrick.' "It'd be a shame not to have one!" Kedrick protested, his eyes bright with a challenge. 'this'll only end badly for you if you don't.' Dimitri shrugged noncommittally. "Eh..." He said mildly. 'shut up.' Kedrick frowned and picked up his own plate, but didn't let the expression linger on his face. He scooped up some more pasta salad on to his plate and picked up a roll. With a thin smile, he offered one to Dimitri. "Bread?" He asked. The other boy accepted it without a word, taking it and putting it on his plate.
Athena blinked, looking confused. "Wait...Did I miss something?" She asked, looking between the two boys."
"No, Nothing.""No, Nothing." Dimitri blinked, looking up as he realized that he and Kedrick had said the same thing at the same time. He smirked wryly, he wasn't really mad at Kedrick, just a bit irked. "Riiight...." Athena said, not buying it.
Kedrick grinned at his sister. "Alright, maybe, but we're entitled to some secrets aren't we?" He asked with a smirk, and it reminded Maria of something that Eneas and Ulises might do.

Arielle Shore
Arielle laughed gently and would've commented back, but Kyla, who was still trying to let everyone else know she existed, beat her too it before adding how Sakimi would get her for being labeled as The Wicked Witch of the West. Following suit, she picked up her own plate, looking down at the table to figure out what to eat. She looked up as Athena continued the conversation, eventually pointing out that they didn't have a Cowardly Lion. She wanted to comment about that, saying that they would find one someday and that it wasn't really that important, but before she could let the words form, Kedrick and Dimitri started speaking, and she couldn't help but worry about the glances they were giving each other.
Maria herself felt worried, noticing how the boy's attitude had seemed to change. She could sense this kind of tension between them and she looked between them, trying to wonder what could be making them act like they were about to start an argument. She wondered if there was something else about the whole issue that was creating the small tension she felt between them. She was quiet, picking up her plate and tried not to think about it, knowing that it would probably just turn out badly. She gave a light smile and nodded before going throughout the food line.
"I think it's time the whole conversation comes to an end," Arielle said firmly yet in a calm tone, looking at Kedrick, "Besides, it's no big deal right now. But, did anyone have a favorite dish at all? Mine was definitely your mother's salad, Maria." Arielle smiled, doing her best to make things a bit better, wondering if their whole Wizard of Oz conversation was a bad thing from the start.

♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Kedrick shifted slightly, he hadn't meant to let the atmosphere become uncomfortable, he hadn't even meant for the others to realize that he was trying to tell Dimitri something. He sighed quietly, a small smile touching his lips, yes, he felt bad about this whole thing, but it was too important to let slide. Kedrick wanted what was best for his friend, his best friend, and he knew that that was Maria...but still, it was hard not to nudge him in the right direction.
He looked up at Arielle. "Sorry." He said quietly, so that just Arielle could hear him, He touched her arm gently and then picked up the train of conversation that she had introduced. "Favorite dish hm?" He asked, studying the table top. "This pasta salad is really good, I don't remember who brought it though..." He mused, and then looked up at Dimitri, a hint of an apology in his eyes as he looked at the other young man. "What about you Dem?" He asked, cocking his head to the side slightly. Dimitri looked down at the table, like Kedrick, surveying the food. "That's hard...Everything is so good...I can't really pick." He said with a smile, his eyes closed, head canted slightly to the side. "I could pick for you." Kedrick teased, smiling back at him. "How about...this." He said, pointing to a raspberry trifle that sat on the table. Lots of people had take scoops out of it, but it still looked nice despite that. Dimitri nodded thoughtfully. "Yeah... that was good." He said, rubbing his chin and reaching forward to take another scoop out of the dish."Good," Kedrick said with a smirk. "Arielle and I made it last night." He said with a grin. "Oh ha ha. Very funny." Dimitri said dryly, looking over at Kedrick with a patient look. "Oh come on guys!" Athena said with a laugh, stepping out the end of the line, her plate laden with food.
Kedrick grinned at his sister, knowing that this time it really was just light hearted fun. "now now Athena, don't be a party pooper." He said with a smirk, shifting his plate over into one hand and draping an arm around her shoulder. Athena gave him a patient look.

Arielle Shore
Arielle looked at Kedrick with a soft smile and a look in her eyes that let him know that she accepted his apology. She knew that he didn't mean it, and she was sure that Dimitri didn't mean to cause any unpleasant feelings either. She didn't say anything as Kedrick and Dimitri spoke again as they continued with the conversation that Arielle had brought up. She smiled gently and realized that she too needed to have a taste of the raspberry trifle before it was too late. As agreed between Maria and her grandparents, they would all do about three deserts each so that there would be a variety.
She wasn't paying too much attention anymore as she started putting food on her plate. She looked at the deserts and noticed that the ones that her grandparents made were already gone. There were only a few crumbs left that marked the existence of any kind of food there. The deserts she and Kedrick made were getting close to that point, except for their raspberry trifle. The red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing, which was a recipe that Arielle learned from her mother, was already gone. The deserts that Maria and her mother and aunt cooked were still plentiful, but she knew that soon they would disappear. She picked up a homemade churro and took a small bite, savoring the taste as much as she could.
Maria, who had stayed quiet, went through the line while everyone else was conversing. She was trying to keep the worrying, curious, thoughts out of her head that would've ruined the day. Despite her efforts, somewhere deep in the back of her mind, she wanted to know the hidden message between Kedrick's push of the character of the Cowardly Lion to Dimitri. Was he trying to say that Dimitri was a coward? She didn't believe that, but she couldn't help but consider the thought.
As she headed back, she looked at Arielle who had happened to look over at that time. She wanted to see, maybe, if Arielle would be able to give her any clues, any hints. But before Arielle would ask if there was something bothering her, she just shook her head and smiled like it was nothing. She took some of the raspberry trifle and leaned against Dimitri, playfully trying to knock him over. "So what's going on in the conversation this time?" she asked with a warm smile, "Because if it's something interesting, I'd like to know~."

♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Dimitri blinked in surprise as Maria came and leaned against him, making him shift to the side. He regained his balance and grinned at her, reaching over and poking her cheek. "Trust me Maria, if it was something interesting I'd let you know, Kedrick was just beeing tricky and tricked me into saying that I actually liked his cooking." He filled her in with a smirk.
In truth, Dimitri did like Kedrick's cooking, he wasn't bad at all, but it was one of those teasing things that he'd never admit it to his friend. Kedrick also knew that Dimitri was always teasing when he insulted his cooking, it was a mutual agreement between the two boys. Kedrick would cook, Dimitri would criticize and tease, and then they'd both eat, enjoy themselves immensely, and have a good meal in their stomachs.Kedrick smiled playfully at his sister, gently tugging on a strand of her hair that had escaped from her pony tail. "Come on, we were just playing." He said with a smile, his arm still draped around her shoulder.
Athena smiled back patiently, taking a hold of his wrist and sliding his arm off of her shoulder. "well still, you two are beginning to sound like Maria's brothers." she said, half expecting Eneas and Ulises to have heard their names and appeared out of nowhere.
Kedrick grinned at the thought and looked over his shoulder at Dimitri. "What do you think Dem? Girls?" He asked, addressing this last part to Maria and Arielle. "Are we as bad as Eneas and Ulises?" Dimitri snorted, getting his opinion in first. "What?! No, definitely not." He snorted derisively, shaking his head. "We're no where near as bad as those two, no offense Maria." He added as a quick side note, a small smile playing on the corners of his lips.

Arielle Shore
"Why is it that you guys never talk about anything interesting when I'm around?" Maria teased, bumping against Dimitri with her hip. She listened to Dimitri's explanation and smiled, laughing lightly. "Well, Kedrick, never knew that you were that skilled in being tricky. Looks like he and I will make great interrogating partners in the future."
"Wait... Why in the world would you two be interrogating partners?" Arielle asked curiously, standing beside Kedrick and looking at her two friends, "Are you guys after someone that you feel like is being secretive about something. Which I actually find highly unlikely considering the fact that you've spent all of your time with a certain someone all the time."
"Oh I'm only joking," Maria said with a light blush, even though she knew that Arielle was telling the truth. She looked away and couldn't help but feel the same way that Athena felt when they mentioned their names. She glanced quickly, making sure they were still too far away from them to care before sighing in relief.
"I think you two are mild compared to them," Arielle said after giving Kedrick's question some thought, "Especially because you two could be worse. Of course, Eneas and Ulises aren't that bad..."
"But at the same time, they are that bad," Maria added in with a laugh, "You get used to it though, especially since there's nothing you can do for my brothers. Sometimes I think of them as a lost cause." Maria smiled and looked back at her brothers, noticing their flushed faces and wondered if they had gotten into yet another heated sports related argument. What will I do with them? Maria thought with a soft smile.

♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Dimitri smirked and ducked his head, strands of his dark hair falling in his eyes. He looked up again, running his fingers through his hair to get it out of his face and pausing, one hand still resting on the top of his head as he followed Maria's gaze. He spotted Ulises and Eneas as well, noting their red faces and he smiled to himself, wondering what was going on. Dimitri himself wasn't a big sports person, there was too much physical contact involved for comfort, so he couldn't imagine arguing about it. Kedrick on the other hand did enjoy watching a good soccer game every so often. Kedrick to glanced over at Maria's brothers. He smiled and walked over to Maria's other side. "They look all flushed, what do you think they're talking about?" He asked, Dimitri hummed as though he where considering Kedrick's question. "well..." He started slowly. "it could be one of two thing. Either it's something that's got them both riled up....or it's girls." He said, a thin, mischievous smirk touching his lips. He got the impression that Eneas and Ulises teased Maria a lot, if they themselves had girlfriends, or girls they liked, it would give Maria some 'ammunition' to tease them back. "I dunno..." Athena said thoughtfully, rubbing her chin and then smoothing a piece of her hair back. "It could be..."
Kyla cut in, grabbing Athena's sleeve. "Hey, hey hey! Athena!" She said, her words spilling over each other in a constant stream. "Hey! Hey! You listening to me? Hey! Athena!"
Athena pulled back away from her sister, a slight frown appearing between her eyebrows. "What!?!" She said, looking annoyed.
Kyla smiled innocently at her, rocking back on her heels. "I could go ask them if you like. I'm sure I could find out."
Athena shook her head quickly. "No!...no, Kyla, that would be very, very rude of you." She said, taking a deep breath.
Kyla shrugged. "And?" She asked, and then seemed to loose interest in Athena's opinion and turned abruptly to Maria. "You'd know huh?" The slightly built girl asked, he hands tucked behind her back, her wide, innocent smile still in place.

Arielle Shore
Maria didn't say anything as she watched everyone else around her speculate what her brothers were so upset about. She was surprised that they had noticed her looking back at her brothers. Closing her eyes, she could just hear what things her brothers were arguing about, their heated argument coming out in quick Spanish. It made her smile lightly before she opened her eyes, looking and listening again.
"Maria told me that happened to Ulises once," Arielle added thoughtfully, "It was when we were in fifth or sixth grade and Eneas found out about this girl that Ulises was really interested in, and he wanted to help him ask her out because Ulises was so shy. However, that turned out horribly because not only did Eneas mess up, he also started to like the same girl too. But, after a couple days of arguing and intense stare downs, they pretended like it never happened. But that hasn't happened in awhile. I think the last time I spoke with them, they each had a girlfriend, right Maria?"
Maria nodded, her mouth opening to answer Arielle before she had noticed that Kyla was asking her a question. She only smiled and nodded. "Yes, I do know what they're most likely talking about," she answered, seeming like she was taking her time with getting her thoughts together, "However, just how much do you really want to know, Kyla? I just feel like I should warn you it's not worth it."

♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Kyla blinked, looking mildly surprised. "No?" She asked, cocking her head to the side. "Not worth it huh...Well, I guess in that case it's not too interesting." She said, looking down with a small, thoughtful frown. But her moment of thoughtfulness didn't last long and she perked right up again. "If they already have girlfriend, then you should tease them right back!" She said, and then looked back and forth between Maria and Dimitri, her trademarked 'wicked grin' spreading slowly over he impish face. "After all...they already tease you about being totally, completely, utterly, infatuated, in love, and all those other wonderful words, with Dimitri!" She said, clearly hoping to embarrass the new couple. For talking about getting back at Eneas and Ulises for teasing her about being in love with Dimitri, she was doing a pretty good job of embarrassing them herself. Kyla's devilish scheme worked. Dimitri's face heated up, color creeping into his pale cheeks. Flirting with Maria and getting her to bush was one thing, but having an eleven year old say what he was thinking was something totally different. He looked down, clearing his throat uncertainly.Kyla looked over, seeing, to her intense pleasure, the look of embarrassed discomfort on Dimitri's face. She trotted over quickly, crouching down and looking right up into Dimitri's flushed face. "What's the matter Dimitri, you look all flushed." She said innocently, batting her eyelashes at him and then smiling sweetly. "It's true isn't it? You shouldn't be so embarrassed that you love her, and think she's beautiful, and that she smells nice, and you want to marry her, and moving in, and have a bunch of kids, and-"
Kedrick moved over quickly, grabbing Kyla and pulling her away, his hand firmly over her mouth. "Okay!" He said with a laugh. "Enough from you, you're going to give my poor friend a heart attack!" He laughed softly, and ruffling Kyla's cropped hair with his free hand. He looked up at Dimitri, who looked kind of like he was choking.Dimitri swallowed stiffly, willing his cheeks not to be so red. Clearly everything that Kyla had just said had run though his mind at one point or another, but hearing it out loud...He looked up, casting an uncertain glace at Maria, curious to see how she had reacted to all of this.

Arielle Shore
"It's really simple actually," Maria said with a light smile, "I rather not play at my older brothers' games. I tend to follow the beat of my own drum when I'm getting revenge on them. One thing is that you've got to know when to break the rules and be sneaky."
"She's really good at that stuff," Arielle said with a light shake of her head, "After all the shows she's watched and books she's read, she's been able to create her own way of solving or...making problems. She's basically going to turn into the next Dr. House of the crime investigation world."
"I'm always right though," Maria responded, a prideful smirk on her face before it started to falter when Kyla had managed to make Dimitri blush. The next things that managed to come out of her mouth made a tint of pink slowly appear on her cheeks as well. She couldn't deny that Kyla was telling a bit of the truth, but everything after her appearance and how she smelt, which she found very weird, seemed almost, fairytale like. She knew better than to doubt a relationship, especially when it just started. But everything that Kyla said, she didn't even have time to really think about it.
Arielle was appreciative of Kedrick getting Kyla to stop with her embarrassing talk. Even though she would like to see that happen in the future, as well as Kedrick, it was one thing to embarrass them about their future when they had many more things to worry about. "It's a little too soon to proclaim about Maria and Dimitri getting married," Arielle added, trying to keep things from getting awkward anymore, "They've got a lot of years to go before they can even think about doing something like that."
Maria nodded, slowly getting her wits back together. "Marriage is a serious commitment anyway," she started, trying to make sense of everything else she was going to say, "And sometimes, marriage doesn't always end happily. Strong relationships only lasts if there's trust within two people and that they're serious about each other, and relationships are give and take, from both sides. A lot of good relationships turn out badly when there's not enough trust within a couple, harmful secrets are kept, or if you're forcing yourself to love someone because it's the only avenue you have. And as for kids, well, that's something I don't want to worry about right now. But you probably won't really understand all this until you're a lot older, Kyla."
"But enough of the serious matters," Maria said with a grin, quickly breaking the serious air she and Arielle had created, wrapping her one free arm through Dimitri's. "Let's hurry up and get our deserts and seconds so I can go enjoy them. That includes you too, lover boy." Maria looked up at Dimitri with a teasing grin on her face.
"There's no need to rush them, Maria," Arielle commented with a light sigh, "It's not like your food is going to disappear anywhere while we wait for them."
"Of course it's going to disappear!" Maria responded, sounding surprised and letting go of Dimitri's arm. "Right into my stomach~!"

♟♞ ♝ ♜ ♛ Ҝәɖʁϊϲҝ Ś. Śűѿą & Ďȋɱȋŧʁȋ Ĵ. ᾟűηŧȇʁ ♛ ♜ ♝ ♞ ♟ Dimitri smiled gratefully when Arielle and Maria started talking, and when Maria tried to explain everything to Kyla, who didn't look like she was listening at all. Dimitri nodded his head in agreement as Maria spoken, but the stopped nodding, feeling uncomfortable as she mention not have a mutual trust and keeping harmful secrets. Dimitri had been trying very hard to to think about that or allude to his problems, especially after the whole 'cowardly lion' episode with Kedrick, but now, the thoughts squirmed to the surface of his mind again. 'how much has she guessed already?' he was forced to think, looking down uncertainly, and avoiding Kedrick's gaze like the plague. 'She can't possibly have guessed about what happened to me...but maybe...just maybe, she knows I'm hiding something from her...She's smart enough to figure that much out on her own, I just hope she doesn't try the same thing as Kedrick and try and encourage me to tell her...'
Dimitri looked up, noticing now that the conversation had turned to the dessert table and Maria's one arm was wrapped around him. He smiled, grateful that up till this moment, no one had been looking at him, or, at least closely enough to see the look of discomfort on his face. "Hey." He said with a laugh, gesturing to his plate. "I've already been though the line, we just need to hit the dessert table and drinks now." He said, shuffling his plate over into one hand and poking her cheek lightly. Kedrick smiled at his friends cheerful behavior. Kedrick knew what Maria had said would have struck a chord with him, but he didn't push the issue, now wasn't the time. "Right then." He said, and turned towards the dessert and drink tables which were right next to each other. "Let's go." Kedrick looped one arm though Arielle's, keeping his other hand free to hold his plate of food. Athena took Kyla's arm, half to just have fun linking arms, and half to restrain her from, most likely, taking to many more desserts.
The small group came over to the two tables that sat side by side. Athena smiled as she leaned over the table a bit, looking at the wide selection of desserts that she hadn't even seen on her first time though the line. "It all looks so amazing!" She said with a bright smile.
Kyla reached under Athena's arm, picking up a Styrofoam plate with a slice of apple pie on it. "Look." She said, holding the pie up to her sister's nose, so close she almost got whipped cream on her face. "This is all I'm taking okay? Just this one more piece of pie, Okay?"
Athena smiled and guided the plate away from her nose. "Alright fine, but keep it out of my face or I may just eat it." She teased with a grin, causing Kyla to yelp and pull her slice of pie as far away from Athena as she could manage.
Kedrick smirked at his sister's antics and picked up some kind of lemon meringue pie and then walking over to the end of the second table where large coolers and thermoses of different drinks sat. He set down his food on the edge of the table for a moment, picking up one of the plastic cups off the top of the stack. Dimitri walked over next to Kedrick, having already picked out his second dessert. "Punch, lemonade, water..." He mused, reading the labels on the large round coolers, running his finger over the top of each spout as he read off it's name. "What are you having Kedrick?" He asked, looking over at his friend who was already filling a cup."Coffee." Kedrick replied simply, a small smile on his lips, knowing how much his liking for coffee bothered Dimitri. The other boy scowled wordlessly, and after a moment, muttered something along the lines of 'should have know' under his breath.

Arielle Shore
"That's what I was trying to get at, Dimitri," Maria said with a grin a playful roll of her eyes as she covered her cheek after he had poked it. She barely had any idea that Dimitri was uncomfortable about what she said when she was talking to Kyla about the importance of trust in a relationship, especially since she was focusing on the young eleven year old girl. She was even surprised that she even spoke about the topic so seriously, especially because she would've used that moment to embarrass Dimitri a little more. She liked it when he blushed, whether out of embarrassment or just blushing in general.
Arielle followed Kedrick with a smile and wondered if she should add anymore deserts to her plate. She grinned happily as Athena was excited about the variety of all the deserts on the table. Arielle couldn't deny that Athena was right, especially with all the colors and smells, tempting her taste buds to try them all. She went over to Kyla and Athena, able to hear their conversation, and just smiled, shaking her head gently. "You two are definitely a wonderful comedy pair," Arielle said with a small smile before looking at Athena, "What kind of desert are you going to get, Athena?"
Maria giggled at the confrontation between Dimitri and Kedrick. Her drink was at the table, but she knew that she would eventually need a refill. She quietly wished she had a fork to enjoy some of her food now instead of waiting, but she knew that she had to be patient. Instead, she went into her thoughts, thinking about the points that Kyla said in an attempt to embarrass both of them, which had worked.
Before she had gone too far, she suddenly felt her sides being poked and she screamed out in surprise, turning sharply to notice that her brothers had once again found a moment to embarrass her and Dimitri again, especially Dimitri. With a light frown, she placed her free hand on her hip. "What is the matter with you two?" she asked, still trying to calm her nerves down and refusing to start speaking in Spanish, "Are you trying to give me an early heart attack?"
"Of course not, Ria," Eneas said, wrapping one arm around his sister, "It's just that Ulises and I needed to cool off after our heated debate. Dad had to stop us because we were starting to get out of control. We barely even knew that was happening because we were so deep into our conversation."
"You always get out of control when you're debating," Maria responded with a smirk, used to some of the excuses her brothers made. She could hear Ulises' footsteps coming towards her from behind and then a weight on her head as he settle her chin on top of her head. She looked up as much as she could even though she knew it wasn't worth it. "What do you want to say, Ulises?"
"Hmmm," Ulises replied thoughtfully, "Well, I was just surprised to see you all at the tables again. I guess you're working on filling up your boyfriend so he doesn't fly away in the wind. I mean, we can't have that for our future brother in law."
Maria, who knew that the comment was coming anyway, only blushed lightly and looked off somewhere. "Weren't you two going to cool off from your heated debate?" she asked, kindly waiting them to get off her before she collapsed from their weight. It wasn't until a few seconds later that her forehead felt lighter and she no longer felt Eneas' arm on her.
"Right, right," Eneas commented, waving his hands almost as if to shoo her away, even though that wasn't his intention, "And then we can commend Dimitri for adding more wait onto his small frame."
"He's not small!" Maria exclaimed, another pout appearing on her face. However, they must have ignored her as she watched her brothers saunter over to Dimitri with mischievous grins on their faces.
"Looks like you're filling yourself up like a Thanksgiving turkey, brother in law," Ulises said, nodding lightly in approval, "However, if you're going to get more meat on these bones, your going to need to eat more meat on your tiny frame."
(I love when they mess with Dimitri about his size = w =.)
