as the sun was setting. It wasn't that late, but late enough for it to look like morning. Now this was her time of day. It was calmer this time of the day then early in the morning or late at night. Or at least it was to her, in her own natural opinion. She watched as demi-god by demi-god came to sit by the lake, one in particular that seemed to be a bit... timid around water. Her half-sister, Alexx, would have pushed him in. Anyone would expect an Ares kid to do something along the lines of that. But she never understood exactly why she was a daughter of Ares. Sure, she got in her fair share of fights and arguments, but who didn't every now and then? She had a miserable background, and she smoked. Man, I could really go for a smoke right about now...
Jessie quit smoking a few years ago. Sure she was only 18, but once things took a turn for the worst, she figured that was an easy outlet. She inquired about drinking for a very short time, but she knew better than that. The last thing she wanted to do was become a bitter drunk like most of her family.
She raised an eyebrow at the guy, and asked, "Can't swim?" She skipped a few rocks across the slightly murky waters.

Jck looked up and saw someone. "Oh, I can. Its just the last time I was here I nearly drowned. But I still like the view." he added, trying not to sound wise. It came in handy every once and awhile, but he didn't like dropping wisdom into everyday conversations. It was a dead give away that his mother was Athene. He knew some people that could tell other's godly parent from just a glance or talking to them, but he wasn't that skilled. Plus he thought that if people didn't want to say who their parent was, they didn't have to. That was probably his mother's side, but he tried for it not the bother him.

"Please don't say that. I'm not wise." Jack said, remembering several times where he had no solution while his family died in front of him. So he didn't like to be called wise. It was just not him.

at the other campers walking back and forth. "Whatever then, dude." She replied, obviously already zoning out. After snapping herself out of her trance, she decided to make small talk. "So, what's the name?

"Jack Martelli, child of Athena. You?" Jack asked, looking out at the lake. He was starting to remember most of the people that died in his family, most of them cousins that lived in the same house. He hated remembering them, it was painful.

"That's not always what you hear from an Ares kid." Jack said, sighing. "Though, I guess the Athena kids have done our fair share." he added, glad he didn't go further into it.

"Not all the Ares kids are the same. Just about 99.9% of them. I'm that 0.01% that's not." She joked. It was true. She was so different from her half-siblings that she could almost be a pacifist herself. Though that would never happen. Not unless she wanted to be smited by her brothers and sisters. Or worse, her father. She did get angered easily, and she did argue a lot. But so what? Does that automatically make you a bully of some sort? Sighing, she laid back onto the dry green grass, crossing her arms behind her head, looking up boredly at the pale blue sky.

"Aren't I supposed to be the smart one?" Jack asked, looking towards the lake. He still didn't like it, and he was having vivid memories of what happened. He shuddered a bit, but tried to hide it.

"Well, I just find it boring. Which is why I'm gald I can come here." Jack said, yawning. He wasn't really tired, so he wasn't sure why he yawned. But all of his random thoughts were starting to give him a headache.

"Yeah. The only really good thing about being a demi-god is not having to go to school." It was true. If camp suddenly decided to start school, Jessie would have probably left by now.

"True. I stay year long though. I think they have a school here. If not, awesome." Jack said, noticing someone jumping into the water but didn't say anything. He ws already thinking of his dead aunt and his sick uncle. And he was starting to remember more family members.
