Seika flinched when Yuzuki called her name. She recovered with a small, but painfully fake giggle, as if she were joking in some way. "It sucks...having such a complicated connection with somebody. Unfortunately I'm linked to Shuniji in such a deep way...so I can sense some...things." She trailed off, fiddling with her own sleeves, her eyes were shifting nervously.

"I think he's in trouble. Though I am...unsure..." She couldn't even finish her sentence before she started hiding her face. Was it raining? No...that was just her. It hurt. It hurt real bad. This whole time she had been lying to herself, lying about her own feelings. Just to protect herself and a certain somebody that couldn't give two shits, told her not to love him or even consider him a friend. Somebody...who would trade her life for a new pack of glitter any day. He was the only person that put up with her, bothered to help her out with her struggling problems. He was inspiring in her eyes. This is why she secretly idolized him, this is why she'd trade her insignificant life for his. He mattered the most, he was important to the Otokage. Shuniji...he gave her a purpose. She would die for him, just to show him how great of a job she could do as his body guard. After all. He told her that the body guard was supposed to die first.

She wasn't there to do it though. She didn't know if he was in-trouble or not. There were such strong feelings of uncertainty with her at the moment. This is why it bothered her so much.

Finally after a few minutes of gathering her thoughts and sucking up what she called "Unwanted feelings" Seika finally glanced up at Yuzuki, looking renewed and fairly confident."I'm going to stand by my orders. For the Otokage, for Shuniji. He's capable...he told me; He's Shuniji ******** Fuku, remember?" At this point she was just reassuring herself. It was hard...she wanted to leave and go find Shuniji herself, but that would be out of line. Both Shun AND the Otokage would be upset with her. Though love does stupid s**t to your head. Wait, love? Pfft. What the hell was she on about?...Okay. So it was blatantly obvious she felt SOMETHING for that self absorbed moronic a*****e. Though for the sake of professionalism, which she clearly wasn't showing now. She had been hiding from her own feelings. It was for the best...

The distressed Sound nin shook her head lightly. "...I'll be fine. However, I can't personally venture into the village with you. It would be too risky. Though if s**t get's out of hand, I'll rush in and start cracking skulls. For now..that clone should suffice. If you want to go on with the bomb idea, let's do it. You're the boss." Seika assured Yuzuki with both hands raised in apology for the small scene she caused.

......That's right. All that matters is the mission. He'd be upset if she disregarded the mission for her feelings. This was important.

I'm one Nightmare...
~*Yuzuki*~

"If your sure..."Yuzuki paused as she studied the girl that was infront of her, she wasn't sure what to think of Seika at the moment. A small part of her wanted to understand what that was like, and the other part of her knew that getting close to others was a wasted of time and sentiments. Still, deep down in her black twisted heart she felt a pang of pitty for her new team mate. To have to sacrifice one that she happened to get a bond with... she knew that conflict and confusion, when she was forced to kill that kindred spirit in the Chunin exams. Yuzuki wouldn't offer the girl sympathetic words or a shoulder of consolidation, she doubted it would be appriciated and it would only make the pain hurt more. She didn't know love or friendship, and she doubted that she ever would. Yuzuki looked over her shoulder at the gates. "If you wanted to come into the village, you could disguise yourself as one of my clones and I could hide you in my study... its dark, dank and a little clostrophobic... but you could hide there comfortablely for a while if you wanted too. I think think that we should go with the bomb idea. I feel that would be the best way to get results, but they'll have to be a little more complicated that the average bombtags... I would like to rig one of my clones with a trigger tag as it were. That way we won't have to face him personally and if he does decide to attack, the consequences of his actions will be obvious and soul crushing for him. I doubt it will come to that though. Your choice, if you want to stay out here then me and my clones along with your clone should be fine. Whatever your most comfortable with. I'm not going to force you into something that your not comfortable with. I can leave my clones here too, the less he knows about my abilities the better off we'll likely be."
Yuzuki looked back at the Village hidden in the Clouds and gave a depressed sigh, she really didn't want to come back here so soon, and she was hoping that she wouldn't be coming back here without the power that she craved, she had to be espeically careful around that mutt that was already accusing her of being a traitor, so she was likely going to be snapped at once more from the dog-breathed kouinichi. Yuzuki brought her fingers up to her eyes and rubbed them tiredly. God she hoped this wouldn't take long.
Yuzuki made her way towards the last little distance between their location with a relaxed pace, she figured if she acted like nothing was wrong then maybe she wouldn't attract any of the guards to her.

...you won't wake up from.

Seika sweat dropped for a moment and shook her head lightly. "It's best if I stay here. If s**t goes down, the front gates will be unguarded. Providing me easy access to pop in and get a surprise attack on some poor ********. The Raikage, if we're lucky." Well now...that was a quick recovery from her mild case of depression. This was good though. It meant Seika had her eyes on the goal again.

With one swift movement, she hopped over the the clone that was perched on Yuzuki's shoulder. It opened it's small mouth, revealing it's sharp little teeth. Seika reached over to the pocket on her arm and pulled out a thumb sized paper tag and stuck it on the clones tongue. The saliva seemed to melt the paper, leaving only the inked imprint on it's tongue.

"This..." She started with a grin. "Is a small bomb. It's take-down capacity is four people. Only I can activate it...so it won't go off prematurely or anything." Seika explained as she pulled her mask down once more, revealing a genuine smile. She seemed to be in her zen...

Seika watched Yuzuki and her clone off, then crouched down with her feline companion at her side. Ami wasn't even sure of how to comfort her human about what happened a few minutes ago, but assumed she was slowly getting over her feelings. So the cat merely mewed and sat on it's haunches with it's tail curled under it's small feet.

Each Day is a Gift...

As the Cloud Ninja left the Mountain side; the area around the group slowly became that of a thick Forrest; showing that they were heading in the right direction in order to reach the village hidden in the Leaves. "I take it this is going to be your first time heading to the Leaf Village, all three of you?" The Jounin asked that they continued to walk. It had been a while sense she herself had been to the Leaf village; so even she was wondering what had happened to the Village in full effect; she knew that it had been attack but thats not a lot of information.

Kurou slowed to let the other more experienced ninja take the lead. It was always a weird feeling when he left the protective mountains. This time it seemed different. Kazin's couched warning had left an uneasy feeling in his stomach. This wouldn't be a trip with father. Their group were ninja, proudly displaying their allegiances for all to see; targets.

"I have been one or two times with father. That was many years ago when I was a tiny child though. I can't even remember. Actually I wouldn't know I had been if father hadn't told me." He replied to the Jounin who over-rode his question to Script. He sighed inwardly.

The memories of being on the road with his father were dim and hazy; almost a drunken stupor or another life. Kurou's life had truly began when he and father settled in the Cloud and he joined the Academy.

User Image Kazin shook his head, and spoke back to Aigyou. "Well, if you couldn't tell, I'm a Hyuga. That means I actually originated from the leaf village. At a young age, my family moved away from the rest of the Hyuga family to avoid persecution. I spent the rest of my years up to now in the Cloud, but I still know the Leaf village as my origins. Also, I more recently went on a mission here, so this route is definitely familiar to me." Kazin said as they made their way through the trees.

Kazin was still a little anxious about the leaf village. He didn't know what lay ahead, but he was going to face it headstrong. He was a little surprised that the Jounin didn't know about the Hyuga Clan, or just didn't notice the mark on his forehead. He shrugged, and continued the pace.

User Image"I've never been to the Leaf. My father used to talk about a mission or two that he had there but thats about it." Script smiled at the others as he too slowed his pace. "I can't wait to see what the leaf has in store for us! Maybe it's a top secret rescue mission...."His eyes widened and fists tightened. He lowered his hands to his pockets and looked to the forests canopy. 'I wonder where Story is about now. She should be really proud of me.' "Well honestly I've never been out of the Cloud Village before so this is pretty exciting for me." Approving his statement with a small chuckle.

Each Day is a Gift...

"So this should be interesting, not only is it your first mission for two of you; but its either the first time all together; or first time in a long time that you have been to the Village hidden in the leaves" The Jounin said as she continued walking; at a good pace they would make it there in a few days so it wasn't that long of a trip. She continued to walk looking through the woods as she did so; she never really liked the forest when she traveled; to compact; and easy for targets to hide without you knowing, not like anyone or anything was going to attack them but still.

User Image Kazin continues through the forest at a good pace. As they speed along, Kazin decides to strike up a conversation to see what the two genin were like.

"So, what do you two think about ninja and the relationship between teammates? Do you think that friends are necessary, or just a waste of time? If you don't want to answer, that's fine, I was just curious." Kazin asked with a slight hint of true curiosity.

Kazin really was just curious, and he could judge how they would react to certain situations depending on their answers. Despite their answers, he really didn't want the two of them to be as different as he had been with Yuzuki. His team almost seemed like it was doomed to fail. Kazin waited patiently as the only noise then was slight patter of their footsteps through the trees.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 20, 2011 10:43 am

Kurou kept his pace behind the Chunin and Jounin.

Kazin's question caught him off guard a bit. He looked away and then back toward the Chunnin.
"I.. I've never really had friends before. I moved around too much. I would get to know other kids in an area and then we would leave. The next time that we came back they wouldn't even remember me or feel betrayed that I left."

Kurou's voice dropped an octave.
"The ninja world is hard. Brutal. There is no room for attachments. Emotions get in the way of the job." His voice was solemn, distant.

He let himself get absorbed in the memories for a moment. He stopped a moment before punching a nearby tree and hurrying back to formation.

"Well, that's all bullshit to me! In this world your teammates should be thicker than family. You're out in the field with them bleeding and suffering together. You will know more about them and they about you than your own mother. And those that toss aside their teammates are nothing but stray dogs. They will never be taken inn never trusted and never cared for. If you can't trust or care about your team, you're nothing more than a sacrificial tool, doomed to die on the field alone, forgotten."

Kurou fought back some tears he didn't even know had started running down his cheek.
"More than that, we are the defenders and protectors of our village. If we can't or won't defend our own teammates, then how in the hell can we protect those we love back home?! Yes, shinobi means 'heart under blade', that we must sacrifice our heart to be ninja. But without that heart then we are nothing more than hired murderers. We wouldn't care enough to defend or protect. We wouldn't have anyone to protect. That thought utterly disgusts me Kazin-sempai."
Kurou's mind splintered off into a thousand different other statements and declarations. He could rant on another hour but it would be in-cohesive babble that would ruin his point.

The forest seemed so deafening silent after Kurou finished. He hadn't spoken like that in, well never. Something about Kazin's question really set him off. Concentrating on his footsteps he adjusted his pace, having gotten himself worked up in a frenzy.

User ImageScript was surprised by Kurou's reaction to Kazin's question and just grinned a bit. He ran up to Kurou and threw his arm around him, "I think you're right Kurou. We should be thicker than family only lets try to keep away from bleeding and pain on the battle field, no matter how hard it is." Script flashed a wink and smile. "Honestly Kazin, to answer your question, the only real friends I've ever had have been Haruki here and my older sister, Story Ugiaka." He removed his arm from Kurou and caught up to Kazin, "I was put down a lot by my classmate from Cloud's academy the others would steal Haruki from me and randomly beat me up and throw rotted ramen at me while I was in my back yard practicing with Haruki." Script laughed at another thought and continued, "But there was this one time when they didn't believe me about Haruki and myself being able to use shuriken no jutsu and the flicker technique. Haruki and I smiled to one another and then threw shuriken at their feet and used the flicker technique to get by them. When we did that we pulled their pants to their ankles as we flew through them."

User Image Kazin gave a slight grin and looked back towards Kurou before responding. "Don't take my words so dark, for I will agree with your words before most. I'm glad that you both feel that way, for the road of a shinobi is long and arduous, and nothing is better than to share each experience with a teammate or friend. Just keep in mind that are times to put your feelings aside, and deal with the situation despite friend or foe." Afterwards, Kazin looked back forward. "I just don't want your squad to end up like mine. I believe, and will always believe that friendship strengthens us, and that each bond increases our inner and outer power."

After these words, Kazin fell silent. He waited for them to soak it in a few seconds before speeding up a little to catch up for any lost time.

"Hah, I'm not quite so dark Kazin-sempai. Your words just struck a nerve. I've seen many bad things in this world, humanity at its worst in my travels. I came to sympathize with people. Champion them in fact. I know we can do great things, glorious or terrible. Out of all the people I've met I have something many lack or give up on: hope. I hold out hope that we will someday learn from our flawed ways and truly become a great society. We all live, breathe and die in this world. We all want what we feel is best for use, misguided as we are. No matter who you are, that's fact. That's what drives me on."

Kurou smiled as he continued on. He'd never really had someone to debate or just talk with before. His father was far too experienced in the world and a bit jaded. Kurou still had fresh eyes and an open heart.

"But of course there will always be exceptions. 'Needs of the few or needs of the many' and all that. It's all contextual and philosophical until you are there in the moment, in the heat of battle. The fate of the world can rest on a single choice."

He mused a moment, staring off into the distance, only tangibly aware of his surroundings.

I may even come to renounce my own words. I sure can't see what the future holds and even your Byakugan isn't that powerful. It's easy to soliloquize here among friends, coming from one who has never even spilled the blood of an enemy."

He flashed a huge grin, his mind recalling earlier, face reddening slightly.

"Such heavy thoughts... So, I wonder if how pretty the Leaf kunoichi are. I hear the Fire country produces some hot women. What'd you think when you were there last Kazin-sempai? Think we can make a man outta Script?"
Kurou punched Script's arm lightly and laughed.

Denrei was never one for conversation and and was even less so now. She was silent as she flowed through the treetops. Unlike other ninja, she moved with more angular rebounds than fluid movement. There was a distinct "push off" in each new rebound off a tree. As a result, she moved slightly faster than most but the effort showed in her form.

This wasn't anything new of course. She was ambitious and somewhat aggressive by nature. Once could tell a lot of about who someone was by the way they moved and carried themselves. Denrei always stood tall and never slouched. This was something she had picked up in Sound and was a result of being in attendance to the Otokage for several years. She didn't have the normal "swagger" of a woman. Her steps where direct and effective. She wasn't going to win any charm pageants with the way she conducted herself either. When she sat, she put her legs to one side rather than cross them.

Her decisive nature didn't allow her to show weakness. Her hands where never near her mouth. In fact, they where almost always at her sides or grasping the mighty iron bell she carried. When she did make gestures, they where defensive. She would have her hand or arm between her chest and other people.... and she never put down that bell.

Her eyes never wandered from their target and would follow you across the room. It was near impossible to get a read on what was going on inside her mind as he facial expressions where always set in stone. What little might be gleaned was often simply surface emotions. She had a permanent disproving scowl on her face.

Yet still... you got the sense that she had something to say. There was a much deeper story behind those eyes. There was a history. There was wisdom. There was intelligence. There was tragedy. She seemed like a terminally ill patient in some regards. There was a slow, methodical nature that seemed to take it all in but give nothing away.

User Image"Hey!" Script belted out, "I am a man....An awesome man with a weasel!" He laughed. Script lifted his head to the canopy of the forest and really soaked in Kurou's words. 'It has been a long time since I've heard someone speak that way.' He lifted his hands up behind his head and closed his eyes. "I'm not really worried about other people's needs as much as I should be I guess. I mean, no one ever worried about mine other that my parents and my sister, Story" Script looked over to Kurou and laughed, "Besides Kurou I'm not too worried about the leaf kunoichi, even though she was really rude to me back in the academy, I guess I'm still a bit hung up on this other girl. She moved from the Cloud upon graduation though. Well, so I heard." Script dropped his hands back down to his sides and Haruki popped out of his tool pouch and climbed up to Script's shoulders.

"Yeah, she was pretty though...and really scary. Haruki giggled and jumpped over onto Kurou's shoulder, "I wouldn't mind finding a cute weasel in the leaf Kunoichi." Haruki winked and giggled again as he jumped back to Script.

Script laughed along with him.
