[Cory .:. Hook's Ship .:. Cory's Quarters]

"Sleep? With that stench?"
The rogue sat upon his bed and stared at Celia through his drowsy eyes. Of course, he'd actually been alerted by multiple factors, including the scent of darkness and his summon awakening him. While the girl would be unable to see the bodyguard, he was still very much audible in Cory's mind.

"I'd it to break it to ya, toots, but you absolutely reek of darkness. You'll never get the drop on a guy like me if you don't cover that up with some deodorant." The ronin took his time stretching in the bed before standing up, summoning the Revblade as a precaution before saying, "Only five people know where this ship is right now, and one of them recently left us. Seeing as how Alice's appearance is close to Jenny's, I'd say it's safe to assume that she is, to some extent, a Replica of sorts. This would mean her most likely ally at this point is one or more Replicas, as they are valuable allies of a similar position and attitude. And your dark stench would point to an alignment with some pretty sketchy figures in the first place." The renegade yawned, covering his mouth with his free hand before adding, "I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you're here for the wannabes, right? Am I warm?"

[ Lettie : Hook's Ship : Above Deck ]

"I simply meant that you're so... bound. Restricted. With Cory, you'll gain power too slowly to do what you wish," she explained, seeming to ignore his first question all-together. She didn't move; rather, just locked eyes with the young boy, her eyes dancing lightly in the moonlight. "But that's understandable, really. You don't want to risk falling. You don't want to test your will- after all, if it's too weak, the Darkness would simply swallow you whole. Nobody blames you for being afraid of the risk, you know."

"I just came to ask a question..." she finished, her voice trailing off slightly as she tilted her head, as if to analyze him. "Why do you fight?"

[ Celia : Hook's Ship : Cory's Quarters ]

"I'd hope you'd catch that," she responded to the 'stench' that she so desperately reeked of; on cue, the assassin's scent was gone, no more discernible than the scent of water itself. What good was an assassin if she couldn't hide every trace of her existence?

"Alice's allegiance is of no consequence, for it was not from her that we learned the location of this dilapidated ship," she spoke, remaining in her position, not an ounce of hostility in her voice or stance. "Though we do come from those 'wannabes'. We come with good tidings, however- the location of the other Earthlings and, should you not be able to get them before they leave, their next destination."

[Cory .:. Hook's Ship .:. Cory's Quarters]

"Even if I didn't, you just plain ol' smell, too. Take a shower."

Cory's gaze seemed to wander as Celia spoke, almost like she was telling him things he already knew. "If you didn't get it from Alice, then no doubt the information was passed along via someone watching the losers in the train. Whoever is keep an eye on them is of no consequence to me, though, so you don't need to bother explaining to me how wrong I am just to throw me off track. Y'see, the only pressing things at hand are what could the Replicas possibly want from me... And why Timmy's Darkness seems to be fluctuating as we speak. You people can hide your scent all day long, but Timmy doesn't know jack about Darkness yet. Anytime he gets mad, it's like someone farted and rolled the car windows up." The renegade rested the Revblade on his shoulder, the sleep only now fading from his eyes as he asked, "Who's up there antagonizing my pal?"

[ Celia : Hook's Ship : Cory's Quarters ]

"Just my friend. She means him no harm, I assure you," Celia responded nonchalantly, even shrugging her shoulders as she did, chuckling for a few moments. "Not that you'd listen."

"Ajora wants nothing from you. He actually just finds you amusing, though annoying. That's why he's sent us," she continued, looking toward the ronin with a raised brow, as if to gauge his reaction. "See, he's got plans for the original group, and as entertaining as your interference would be, he figured he'd at least offer you a choice. They're in China now, but will be leaving for Hawaii relatively soon. The morning, at the latest."

"Personally, I look forward to playing around with you if you stick with these losers," she said, her voice suddenly sultry, though taunting. "Though I'm sure Lettie would have as much fun with you if you went to China."

[Cory .:. Hook's Ship .:. Cory's Quarters]

The ronin grinned at the girl, the only effect of her taunting tone being his own personal amusement. He at first tried to stifle his laughter, but it was no use. He soon burst out into a fit of his maniacal laughter, laughing for a good minute before finally regaining his composure. "Oh, geez... Amusing, though annoying? That's hilarious, he really is a joker, huh? Too bad the real loser couldn't be half as silly as Ajora. I might hate him less."

The aloof air about Cory suddenly vanished in a single instant as he said, "I'll do it, if only because it coincides with my goal to keep this world the way it is. At this point any deterrent to those losers in the train is welcomed, especially since they've spread their forces too thin for Timmy and myself to cover."

[ Kyle ; Sora ; Silver; Zexion ; Kuja : Dining Car ]

"Strange weather, indeed," Kuja said, entering the room with Zexion before glancing at the pizza with a look of disdain. "So much grease... ugh, where are the napkins..."

"Not sure what was with that, to be honest. The skies're clear," Kyle said with a mutter, solmenly eating his food after his previously morose thoughts. Noelle was out of reach, Rae was... dead, or close enough to it. He sighed; these thoughts would do no good. "Well, we're safe in here, whatever it was. So let's chow down and get some sleep, hmm? Long day tomorrow, I'm sure."

"This stuff looks so delicious," Sora said with a look of pure joy before sitting with Louis, a slice of supreme and a slice of meat-lovers on his plate, which he immediately went to devouring, only to be pushed over by the Genome. "Mmxcyuz yugh," he muttered, food in his mouth.

Zexion remained particularly quiet, just grabbing a single piece of cheese pizza before sitting in the corner, in the same booth as Prote.

[Dawn : Dining Car]

Dawn slowly stepped away from Joe and started to walk on her own. She had calmed down most of the way but the talk of the weather in the car had left her a little puzzled as well. She personally had expected more thunder then just that. She had never heard of it striking down just once like that. And way it sounded, it was right outside the train. They were lucky it didn't hit them.

"I personally, don't know if I am grateful that it didn't strike anymore than that, or not...." Dawn said in a monotone as she walked by, "I've had enough scares for one day."

She walked up to the counter, grabbing herself a plate with one meat and a slice of cheese pizza. Dawn smiled up at Silver and told him thank you. Before she left to go sit down she went to the fridge and got herself another cream soda.

Dawn then made her way over to the booth taken up by Sora, Louis and Kuja, "Hope you don't mind if I join you guys." she said before she sat down by Louis.

[Axel: LoD: Fireworks]

Ok, he pushed enough- THIS was Blonde's limit. Talk about a basket case! Cloud's idea of ending a conversation was apparently to cleave him in half! Not his first idea of dealing with your problems, but certainly not completely out of the ball park for worst case senarios with this guy.
What surprised him was the fact of how calm Cloud was- before- he suddenly made the draw. Like he was serious about cutting his skull in twane!
The guy was fast too!
The nobody would have leaped, his muscles tightened like a cat about to spring- only suddenly his side met hard pounded earth instead. Because from the right Fearless Leader shoved him out of the way!

Steel met steel and Leon shouted at the crazed ex.Soilder, demanding the explaination.
"Leon?" Axel blinked up at the guy. Where the heck did he appear from?
....

Comrade.

So that's what he was now huh? Had a nice ring to it.
It was better then 'Member' at least, and there was a level of gravity to that title. It meant people would be doing stuff like that-err-saving him and stuff.
It was times like this that Axel noticed the absence of his heart the most. Wasn't he supposed to feel moved or something?
There it was again- just the absence. Just pure empty absence.
But at least he knew what should have been there. At least he knew.

He rose to his feet and wondered as he dusted himself off. 'Was moved the right emotion though?'
He remembered himself from before and surmized that's probably what he would have felt.

...

He glanced at the gunblader who defended him and held the crazy buster user at bay, and he raised a brow.
This ackward moment had happened before. Not being saved, No. An event that demanded a shifting of aliances. An act that sealed some kind of bond that used to be so natural to make once upon a time, but now he had to logically processes it instead, to make up for the missing emotional value it was entitled.
It was easier before with 'him', they met before. Others who followed after his changing required a thoughtful realization instead.
Hence Axel thought while contemplating this moment...

"...Did I just make a friend again?"

It was Dem-as- Demyx, who made the next entrance, slinging his unbidden commentary like usual and patted him on the shoulder. Playing his part to a T.

" It's what I do I suppose." the red head shrugged, slipping the fake facade of his persona back into place. It fit snuggly over his cold hollow shell, and he returned to regular standards of social interaction.
But only this time.. the difference of action had never made such an obvious presence in his forethoughts like it did then.
He knew with the upmost clarity, that he was all fake smugness and attitude, hollow beneath, and it was apparently driving Cloud crazy. Wonderful.

...and Leon wasn't enough to stop him!?

"Holy- he's serious!" Axel exclaimed, watching as Cloud actually tried to fight Leon, slamming his sword from another angle.
What should he do? Step in? Leon just did- and it wasn't enough to settle Cloud down. He was actually going to fight? This didn't bode well if the kids saw this. Wasn't it bad parenting or something?

He gave Demyx a side glance, his eyes conveying the obvious question. What Now?

[Kyla: LoD:Tea Shop > Street]

Kyla was changing a lot inside, but some old habits died hard. Codes of conduct needed to be changed, but when they've been the practice for years- they take time to alter.

When the subtle warning signs of anger, ill-tempered moods or concealed displeasure were in the air, the girl seemed to shut down into herself. Silence and down cast eyes.

Though she kept a peaceful expression, Kyla said nothing more and let everyone else do the talking from then on. She took her cup between her hands while Kichi and Alan did their subliminal debate- and she took a long deep drink. She tried to concentrate on it's flavor, the brew of jasmine and the flowery undertones of the flowers arranged in the hot water.
It tasted soooo good!
And it brought some sense of normality back to her life here in this world. Tea was always her favorite, and now it was back again to comfort her. Remind her that some things can always stay the same.

When Kichi returned and suggested their leave, Kyla would lower her cup, revealing the empty contents, wet flower and leaves within, then nodding she gathered herself up, rejusting the buckels on her robe and straps on her sandals to...Oh-!

She hadn't noticed it, until she actually had to look at them, but the dressphere had adjusted itself just slightly to accomodate her once again. It was it's purpose of course, but it was funny. Basically the silken robe had recut its design to match a more oriental theme, with her sandals having been switched for those flat sole slipper shoes. Kyla fingered the little ornate buttons that crossed along her front and memorized the faint shine of asian weavework in the cloth colors.

...will surprises never cease?
Of course it would change back once on boad the Red Rose. But for the walk back Kyla's attire mingled slightly with the inhabitance now.

She rose from the table without a word and turned to see Beatrix, Maggie, Seymour and Nick.
The summoner inquired about their next destination; the idea of the sandy beaches of Hawai would have brought some encouragment if not for the fact it was obvious the culprit they pursued got away, and like Riku pointed out- he would deffinatly return, bigger and meaner then before, if history with this universe has taught her anything.

"...'Interactive Archives' FF-11, I think is what you're thinking of Kyle." she said quietly, answering the only thing Alan hadn't covered in his reply.

She didn't dare look up from her slippered feet after she used the word they used in place of ' Video Game', Alan's displeasure was intimidating, and almost instinctively she move away from him. Kyla was trying, but she wasn't perfect. Yes.. old habits die hard.

Instead she moved passed them and exited the Tea Shop completly, brushing lightly by Maggies shoulder. Looking into the busy streets she asked out loud to herself.

"..Where have Leon, Cloud, Axel and Demyx gone off to?"

[Kai: Flying Dutchman]

Enough waiting. She had let her original stew her worries long enough.. now it was time to start the opening act of their tragic story. It will be so beautifully etched; no details missed or neglected. She will paint a masterpeice worthy of eternity from her blood and tears. Such a lovely color.
Rising to the deck of the ship, Kai had seen enough, and knew Ajora had his own plans in motion, which wouldn't put a wedge into her own.
Opening the leather bound book, the replica fingered through her pages until she found her sketch, and with a most devious and soft smile, bastarding to the others' smile- Kai's hand glided across the page, dragging her crow feather quill to finish up the final lines.

Bleeding in the grey tones and black hair, the hollowed haunted eyes, and the pale skin. The flesh bounds, the sorrowful expression. She wrote the notefoots and detailing of behavoir, doodling the antics and mannerisms to fit just right. Completing the peice with a most wonderfully sadistic surprise!

"I shall illustrate the guilt you deny yourself....and we'll see how tight your heartstrings can be pulled."

A/N I forgot how gaia loves to delete my posts.

[Maggie Tea Shop]

It took awhile for Maggie's brain to process the situation all the while numming on her thumbnail nervously. Her ears perked suddenly when Ivalice was mentioned, that gut crunching feeling that followed, and the blue rose that comforted her.
He's from the same world as 'him?'

Maggie peered over her shoulder, comming in direct contact with Seymour's cohort. "Ecuse me Nich, do you know someone called Louis? He's an Ivalician too."

[Yuffie -Tea Shop]
Whilst banter ensued, Yuffie headed for the counter, a big bright beaming smile with a pocket full of munny. "The best the house!" She winked.

[Beatrix - Tea Shop]
Beatrix sauntered up too Riku, allowing him to finish his conversation, followed by a gentle intruison. "Sorry to inturupt but do you know where Leon and the others reside?"

[Dining Car ~ Train]

Prote gave a sideways glance at Zexion as he sat at the booth before returning his eyes to watching the group eat and socialize. He didn't suppose there would be any particular reason for why Zexion chose to sit with him, so he didn't ask for one. The mind was curious like that--prompting a certain action without a spoken reason but with subconscious logic--often mistaken for "gut instinct".

"Hello." He said, taking the time to observe each person in the car for a full twenty seconds before looking on. It was interesting to be able to capture just twenty seconds of a person's life, personality, and emotion. Truly intriguing.

[Amy : Land of Dragons : Tea Shop]

Amy seemed blissfully ignorant of any mood changes, subtle or otherwise. She appeared as if off in her own little world, considering her tea cup, the Heroes of China, and the entire Tea Shop with an almost child-like wonder. Her upper body swayed very slightly as she looked around; for all the world, it looked like she wasn't paying close attention to anything important– or close attention to anything at all.

She did flinch slightly as Yao gathered up the tea cups, and prepared to move away if need be. That's when she spotted John. He was sitting off in a corner by himself. She was so engrossed with looking at him that she didn't hear Kichi's ask if they were ready to go. Rather rudely, though unintentionally, she got up and walked away the moment the question was asked. She stopped just short of John's table. He had likely noted her approach.

"Are you okay?" she asked. It was a stupid question. Was anyone here really okay after all that had happened? It wasn't the logic in the question, though, that really mattered. It was that she cared enough to ask it.

She had noticed, briefly, Seymour's entrance as she was walking up to John.

[ Ajora ; Kefka : ??? : Dark Tower ]

"Fine fine, but if Xaldin gets pissy because I've clipped one of his dreads, I'm sending him your way," Ajora said, shrugging his shoulders to Kefka's continued laughter. Sounded like an interesting task, to be honest; something Celia and Lettie could certainly help with. Regardless, the Replica smirked. "You should already have some of their hairs, I believe? One of my original's more recent memories was of an attack by two Luxords and a bunch of Gambler Nobodies who stayed around only long enough to catch some hair from everyone on board."

"An odd practice, that," he remarked, chuckling as he looked at the woman with an interested gleam in his eyes. "And then a doppelganger took the spear-girl's place and stabbed their gunner shortly after. How coincidental... two doppelgangers in one trip, and one had specifically targeted their hair. Certainly, those aren't one-time-uses only?"

[Timmy : Hook's Ship]

Timmy began to grind his teeth as he listened to the woman talk. He then preceded to chuckle and grin while glaring at her maniacally. "Hehe, you're probably right! As long as I'm on Cory's side I'll be held back!" the dark thoughts began to disturb the boy's darkness. "He pushes away the full potential of darkness! And he's telling me to do the same!" Timmy's blood was boiling as he yelled back at her. "But don't think you know me enough to say that I'm afraid of falling into the darkness! I know I'm strong and I know I'm not afraid!" His outburst came to a halt as she asked her question.

"Hehe..." He began to calm down and stood there silently while starring at the floor. "It's funny... She asked me the same thing I believe. Why do I fight?" He took one last pause before answering. "I fight for power." He looked back at the woman with a wide grin on his face.
