Laren nodded as the merchant spoke, a slight frown crossing her face. To be honest she would miss working for the charasmatic elf, and the news about the druid didn't help much either. Still the implications of her being able to move more freely was somewhat of a relief to the ranger. Thus Laren's only reply to the merchant was a similar gesture, however this one meaning: Fight hard.
"Strange circumstances seem to be drawn to this group like flies to honey," she said turnning back to the party, "I would request joining you, seeing as you no longer have someone to speak to the forest on your behalf," she said this last part cautiously, not wishing to come off as arrogent but rather stating facts.

((Kal, as far as thieves go, ok, filch some gold, fake out merchants a bit, assassinate key figures, but this is taking it a tad too far: stealing openly while being confronted. If you get the town guard on you I am going to have to step aside as they run you out of town....besides, while I may not have gotten far enough in Baldur's Gate to actually beat it, I have gotten far enough to see what happens when you try to steal rare things out of a magic based store.))
Erron closed his eyes and sighed before continuing "There was no body so there may be a chance he is still alive but with no leads on where he might have been taken to we can only continue on with our journey." He paused as Laren spoke before continuing
"Thank you, we most certainly need your bow and knowledge of the forests, and perhaps eventually, of elven customs. Do we have all of our gear and supplies together? We must make haste out of town lest we disobey a direct request from the Patriarch."

((Bingo. The Mask is not intended to fool non-hostile NPC's, it is a combat oriented item only, as a coherent person focusing on someone is going to notice rather quickly that they have stopped speaking. Additionally, while "no further fights will occur in Haven" does not prevent local law from cracking down. Especially if unauthorized magic is used, Fate Tower wizards may even make an appearance. Choose your next actions carefully))

((Not worth it Kal...))
"I'm ready if you all are." She answered to Erron's question. "But it does seem we are short a few people here, a certain halfling and rather bulky orc." She looked around at the three faces that were here. "Shall we round them up and make our way away?" She asked quietly standing up and stretching her still sleepy muscles.

((Ah, dang. Okay. Fine....)) Kal decided against testing the strength of his magic against the guards and possible mages in the store. He handed back the staff after examining it and left, a little disheartened. Why are mages so stingy? he wondered. Even armor doesn't cost as much as those pieces of wood, he thought to himself. He made his way back to the inn and opened the door to see the group at the bar.

Bruag shook his head as he followed the small halfling out of the shop. Normally he would understand why Kal would be afraid to steal from powerful mages openly, but he had a massive orc with him this time. And Brurag was still lusting for blood. Nothing would've satisified him more than hacking apart a few human mages.
Walking cooly behind Kal he said "You should've taken it. I could've taken 'em down. Or at least held them off," Thinking in silence for a moment he came to a conclusion and said calmly "I'm not afraid of dieing. And that staff sure would've been useful. But it's your call, not mine." Pondering the subject for a moment, he let off a small devious smile. It was almost like he was the evil spirit on the halflings shoulder. Although in actuallity he doubted he could even put his foot on Kal's head without crushing him.

Kal and Brurag enter roughly at the same time Selce finishes her sentence. They gather their things, pay their tab and begin to head for the gate in the direction of the mysterious shrine.

Kal followed the group, but his mind reeled about what Brurag had said. If he'd taken it, they would've had a more powerful sorceress and The Orc's bloodlust could've been directed towards something positive for the group. But magic...? Could Brurag really take down some mages with only a little help from a Halfling? He shook his head to try to put the dilemma out of mind for now. "...Wait, where's the traveling merchant? Isn't that who we are supposed to be protecting?" he asked, noticing for the first time that they'd left without the trader. "We might want to go get him. Bodyguards can't just leave the body they are guarding behind, right?" he asked, chuckling lightly.

"We have been released from his service. I am sure he only needed us for the trip to Haven and little else. His influence is such that the city will provide him with the protection he needs until he leaves, in which case his coin purse will do the same." Tjaden replied to the halfling as they made their way out of the city.
"This unrestrained hatred has made Haven unsafe for us, but we still have friends within the walls. If we ever come back here, the Grand Patriarch has extended his welcome in the temple to all of us." It was worth mentioning, in case they got split up. He certainly intended to return some day.
Tjaden directed his next comment to Erron and Selce. "As you said, you two are the last of the group to be taken by the evil wizard. I have heard the story before, but you may wish to repeat it for the benefit of the newer members of the party. I am sure all the references to your capture are quite lost on them." Tjaden suggested.

Selce shrugged her shoulders at Tjaden. She reasoned there was no point unless they found another clue to where the necromancer was, they likely wouldn't find him unless he wanted to find them in which case it wouldn't matter what anyone knew. Her thoughts settled on the matter she watched where they were going and were her feet were going.
She studied the newest companion as they walked, trying to get a feeling to what he was thinking. With a sigh she sped up to Erron and asked, "Do you want to tell him or should I?" She figured he had a right to know even if she didn't want to tell him.

Erron was focusing on where the party might head after the shrine, the best bet as far as he could figure might be the dwarven city nearby to follow the trail of discord, as Selce's question broke through his focus he blinked out of his enthrallment and realized he was walking at nearly twice the speed of several of his companions.
"I don't know whether Brurag cares about what has come to pass any more than what is going to, if you want you can tell him now"
The party turned and the gate they headed for came into sight, they were nearly out of town, and still no one save for deliverers of store goods and shopkeepers were on the streets.

Brurag continued walking, hoping that wherever they were going, he would get to kill things. He looked about the town and noticed a lack of frightened crowds pointing at him. He thought about where all the idle peasants had gone and chuckled at the thought of them hiding in their homes because of him.
Although he didn't seem to appear anymore viscous than the other noble orc in the group except for the fact that Brurag ALWAYS kept his tusks long, and as sharp as he could make them. He also felt like he had a general menacing air about him. He couldn't really describe it, it just seemed like bystanders were frightened when he was near them.
Unlike before when his hair was messy, he had no shirt, and he was covered in grime from the forest. Brurag was now much cleaner, wearing his new suit of chainmail armor, hefting his shiny new axe, and his hair was in the traditional warrior's tail style (think of it as a warrior's ponytail but letting lots of his hair still hang down) of the orc berserkers in ancient times.

The time is now 7 a.m. on the 19th of Autumn's Grace.Weather Conditions ( ö New Feature): Mystical Fog (Magical spells' potency doubled as well as the toll taken on the caster.) The party wades through a curious thick fog. The ruby-tinted mist seemed to make the forest glow with resonating energy. The group made their way with little direction towards a structure hidden behind the wall of trees that seemed to surround them at every turn.
As they crept closer and closer, they seemed to be able to hear music but the source was unseen even as the structure finally came into view. The only wildlife that seemed to be present were squirrels... zounds and zounds of squirrels...
In addition to all the other curiosities of this place, the statue, upon further inspection, appeared to depict the likeness of a very large, bipedal squirrel holding a staff, and garbed in armor and a cloak.
'What a strange place...' is all that you can hear in your minds as you repeat it to yourself over and over.

Kal found it odd that even the squirrels had a town. "Is this our destination?" he asked. He wondered how you would speak to a squirrel. "Well, at least these people are closer to my height," he joked lightly.
