"Stupid marine..." Sergent jenkins whisperd to himself. "Well...looks like Im going it alone...nothing new.." Jenkins turned and headed toward the exit of the large room. As he was leaving he spotted 108. "108 Sir, Im headed out, Ill notify you if i encounter any thing unfriendly in there." He reached the exit, looked behind him at the room full of marines, and entered the darkness beyond. As an after thought he clicked on the flash light on his MAB5 and headed further into the darkness beyond.

The SPARTAN curiously ran his finger tips over the grooved indents in the metal walls that surrounded them, finding the markings odd and slightly familiar as he did. He didn't really care much, having never been horribly interested in such things as he turned back around to examine his team. He was glad they hadn't ran into any serious opposition in the past hour, having dealt with only a few small infection forms that got too close, but worried about the reason behind the small enemy force. He had hoped the creatures weren't plotting somehow, perhaps gaining a small form of intelligence as they attempted to ambush his team. He ignored these thoughts as he organized some members of his team into smaller groups, intending to have them scout the surrounding areas as he did. He silently sent out orders to each four-man team, sending them their team roster, appointing the team's commanding officer, and adding on coordinates for them to check out. He had the rest of his team on constant defense, not taking any chances as they defended their CP.

Kristi eventually gave up trying to get any action battlewise and headed to a pitched tent she had claimed, "guess I'll jsut sleep this off..." she uttered, the only thing she liked about sleep was the silence... and nothing coudl touch her there.

Mendez's team headed down a flickring hallway and found a giant flood-like organism hanging off a wall. Mendez cautiously poked the thing with the barrel of his rifle and it rippled. "Mark it. Get them to blow it up." he turned and started walking down the hall, gun raised.

Drake awoke in a small forest. His head and neck hurt horribly. All he remembered was being ambushed by an elite with no ammo left. Apparently it had left him for dead. He called out to someone, anyone, but nobody returned his call. His throat burned from hours of being unconcious. His stomach growled as he got up and walked out of the forest. He was surrounded by dead covenant and destroyed vehicles. He opened a link to Twombley and said "Sir, I need your help. I got seperated from everyone else." He knew Twombley wouldn't understand most of it due to his damaged voice and the distance between the two. He leaned against a tree and sent a short burst to anyone with a UNSC headset containing his location. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw something move. He looked in it's direction and saw that it was a Flood lifeform that looked a lot like an elite. He reached onto his back for his assault rifle, only to fell a mass of dried blood on his spine. He quickly pulled his pistol from it's holster and dispatched of the flood, and sat down, pondering what the blood meant. All of a sudden it hit him. The Flood. He had heard of a guy who had been stung by the flood and not transformed because he blew up a bunch of Plasma grenades, so why wouldn't the same principle aply to him? Hopefuly he could get the hell off this place.

Master Gunnery Sergeant Brad Jones sat inside a tent. Other than the occasional People having a conversation, it was peace and quiet.

This is Captain Resnick. I need a landing pad open for a Pelican STAT!

Brad was wide awake as he leaned against the table and grabbed a radio transevier "Roger that captain. Um, Oh-Niner is hot, fresh and waiting for someone to land on her."

Got it. Thanks. Captain out.

Brad hung the reciver up and sat in his quiet place once more. But he heard somethign feint, a humming noise. it grew somewhat louder as through the tent, he could hear some chatter. Then, what sounded like a phayser typer device, he could see some blue fireballs faintly through the green tent. He got up, knocking the chair over and ran outside.

Over 15 Ghosts flew at top speed over the hill, firing Plasma at anything they could.

Brad grabbed his pistol and moved out to a consealed position and waited for the ugly bastards to come and get him....

((There, something do do.... Have fun!))

((IDK, I just felt like since I been out of it for a while I might as well make up a reason. And its a covenant base that was attacked by flood.))

The pelican tore through the artificial atmosphere of Theta Halo. The Pelican was resistant to the heat and strain of the re-entry conditions, but it still heated up enough to make a bead of sweat trickle down their face. As they descended downwards, the Pelican rattled and shuddered, Mathias was used to it though, as was any experienced soldier in the UNSC.

"We'll be at the LZ in 5 Captain! Be ready though, were picking up unidentified radio chatter. Could be Covenant moving in..." Senior Airman Porterman, the Pelican's pilot shouted back to him. Mathias nodded in reply, placing his helmet back over his head and securing it in place. Twombley picked up a broken transmission coming from Drake, but he was unable to identify who it was so he was not able to do anything.

Kristi hear tthe plasma fire ands eh grinned ear to ear behind her gold visor, "Yessah! finnaly!" She jumped out of bed... quicker then normal, but she didnt notice. Grabbing her equipment she ran around for a second until she found teh targets. She then quickly ran rock to rock sneaking up on the oncoming ghosts, "gonna nab me one of those..."

The Pelican dropship streaked through the sky, dropping below the clouds. Porterman lifted his eyes up from the control panel of the Pelican, and gazed out at the invisible flight path they were following. The LZ at the entrance to Halo came into view, being only a few kilometers away. It was only visible though by a digital marker on the pilot's HUD. "OK theres the LZ, beginning approach." Porterman said, hitting a few buttons on the panel then placing his hands back on the controls. As the pelican came closer, purple dots blotted the ground next to the entrance. As they came even closer, they could see blue orbs cut through the air. "Hey Captain, I think I know what that radio chatter was..." Mathias stood up, holding his arm up to the roof to brace himself, while staring out of the cockpit glass.

"Damn, that's not good." Twombley stated, staring down at the situation on the ground. Ghosts were blitzing at the Marines guarding the entrance to the Halo underworks. "Sir, I've got a nose cannon on this thing, I could tear a few of those ghosts to shreds, after we set you down on the ground.." The pilot said, looking back from the corner of his eyes. "Alright then, set me done outside of the normal LZ where your not exposed to fire from those Ghosts..."

((mathias glad to see ya planet side again))

Kristi smirked as a ghost flew right by her hiding place. In one motion she lept up onto the from of the ghost, "hey big boy.... can I borrow this for a moment?" and with a dull smack of her fist the elite tumbled from the ghost as she swumg around manning the ghost, "sorry pal.... your just to ugly..." she said jamming the boost after making a sharp u-turn, turnign teh elite into a living speedbump. Kristi coudl hear teh elites skull crack as it was hit.

The Pelican altered its flight path to land about 20 meters from the intended LZ to make sure it wasn't caught in any fire coming from the Ghosts, and so the Captain wouldn't get dropped off in the middle of the fight. The back of the pelican opened up as it came to a shallow hover above the ground. Mathias jumped off and moved clear of the Pelican's roaring engines. The Co-Pilot had made sure Mathias made it off alright then notified Porterman they were clear.

The engines boosted as the Pelican lifted back up off the ground, having came to a hover and dropped the Captain off all within a few seconds. Mathias began to jog back towards where the fight was going on, coming into view to see Kristi running an Elite over, shattering it's body. "Heh heh." Mathias chuckled beneath his helmet, rifle already in hands ready to fire. Looking back up he saw the Pelican had already circled around and was now letting loose with the 70mm chain gun, ripping a trio of Ghosts apart. Mathias called out over the radio to Porterman;

"Thanks Porterman, that'll take the edge off those Ghosts, Twombley out."

There was no reply, but he was sure the pilot got his message of gratitude. Mathias jogged on, moving into position to help against the counterattack. He knew Lieutenant Orden was around somewhere, just didn't know where. He also didn't bother to radio him at the moment, Mathias was still adjusting to his new armor.

((Glad to be back, thanks biggrin ))
