Lorey went forward to catch both Raquel and Damian in a hug. She was so thankful for such a big gift that she nearly squeezed enough to hurt herself.
"Thank you, thank you... I'll use it as soon as I can, I promise!"
"Hopefully not all at once!" Damian laughed. One arm hugged her back while the other captured Raquel. A sly look was given to Richard who seemed to be the only one hanging back. "Come on Richard, join in the group hug! Or is the ex-cop too burly for such a thing?"

Richard set his gift down on the counter, popping his back and jokingly cracking his neck as he came up and embraced all three with his large arms, almost picking them all up off the ground jstu a bit. "Hows that for Burly!?" He grunted as he set them down.
Raquel was left laughing hysterically, loving what banter the two men could come up with. They really were like a family. a strange, somewhat dysfunctional at times, but still a family.

Damian had the distinct look of being violated as they were all lifted of the ground slightly, his only comfort being Raquel's giddiness. Lorey was rather impressed, though, turning to hug Richard with her card grasped in her hand. The very idea of owning her own books, new books, made her ecstatic.
But the sight of them all in the kitchen made her want to start crying all over again. She turned with her big blue eyes shimmering and hands clasped with her happiness to the small group.
"This was just so sweet of you guys. Truly, thank you."
His black ponytail was swept back behind his shoulders as he straightened himself out from the large group hug.
"Lorey, consider it a gift from the family. It's alright." Which set Lorey right off to crying, even if it made her feel like an idiot for such a small reason.

Richard furrowed his brow but smiled, knowing where Lorey's emotion was coming from.
Raquel felt she did too, but hated seeing her like that. "Ah- Lorey, here, don't cry, Um, You guys came to get food right! well lets go order up whatever you want!" She beamed, taking her by the arm gently over to the electronic menu.
Richard took a step towards Damian, picking the watch up to look at it again. He smiled and shook his head. "This is too much brother...But I thank you." He nodded, giving him a serious look of gratitude behind his brown eyes. BUut the solemness faded when he opened up his arms. "I might need to hug ya again!" He somewhat threatened with a tilt of his head.

Damian gave him a very suspicious look. Richard was bigger, stronger, and had been through more physical confrontations than he had through his life.
"Er... well, it's yours, regardless... And I suppose a man hug wouldn't hurt." Stiffly and awkwardly he opened his arms to give Richard a rough pat on the back. In essence, a manly hug.
Lorey turned to see this, and laughed to herself, before turning back to Raquel.
"I'm sorry, it's just that I've never had so many people who care. Richard and I had an emotional day today. A good day, but it just really hit us how much we have and how lucky we are..."

Richard laughed and shook his head, giving Damian a rough hard smack on the back turning away. "Nah I think if I gave you a real hug, You'd like it too much, aye?" He gave him a wink before going to set the box down ear Loreys card so he could get it later.
Raquel smiled kindly as she nodded, hugging her arms. "Yea I can relate completely..." She said with a distant tone, glancing over to Damian. But when she heard Richards comment, she cocked an eyebrow. "Damian, is there soemthing you wanted to tell me?" She asked, faking shock as she clasped her heart. She and Richard seemed to have the same idea that making Lorey laugh was the best medicine, even if ti was at Damian's expense.

Well, he thought. If this was all going to be at his expense, he might as well play along with it.
Striking a rather stuffy, effeminate pose, Damian scoffed.
"Thweety, everything that happened was just a cover-up. Don't kid yourself."
Well Lorey burst out laughing, half out of amazement and the other from the humor of it all. Damian had earned the laugh, but he wasn't about to go further and hit on Richard. He loved Raquel too much.

Raquel had to stifle a laugh, for fear she would end up snorting, a bad habit she had when laughing too hard. but she kept things going by sauntering over to Damian, looking utterly heartbroken, but in a comical way if that were possible. "B-b-but...Oh well.." she sighed dramatically. "Thats fine, since your so into Richard, I guess we can just go back to staying in our own bedrooms hm?" She cocked her head, her eyes narrowing in a venomous but sensual way. "I wouldn't want to deprive you from the one you love..." She looked back at Richard, giving him a wink. "I'm sorry Lroey but it looks like we've lost our guys...to each other." She shrugged and raised her hands up as if asking 'what're ya gonna do?'. Sh laughed a little, giving Damian one more look before opening the fridge and pulling various things from bottles of water, veggies, yogurt, and other healthy things.

Damian outright panicked.
"Sweet mother of all things bright and beautiful, I do not love that thick-headed muscle-bound fool!"
With complete desperation, he spun Raquel around, dipped her, and kissed her passionately for all to see, with the fridge door open. The cool mist coming from within gave them a good ambiance.
Lorey simply stared.
"He is MY thick-headed beefcake, thank you very much!" she said, mock insulted. Her blue eyes looked at Richard suddenly, and she pointed a finger towards herself demandingly. "Richard, kiss me, now. These people don't know how it's done..."

Raquel was surprised to say the least, but loved it, wrapping her arms around his neck and still bare chest, her face red all lover.
However Richard knew how to take an order. "Yes ma'am!" He shouted wit ha fake, amusing crack in his voice as he saluted, before rushing to her, sweeping her off her feet literally, with one arm, pulling her head to his with the other, kissing her passionately.
Raquel broke from her kiss with Damian, still red and still holding, him, but he et out a loud howl before laughing. "Wow, watch out Damian, we may need to take some notes..." She fanned herself looking to him with a smile, getting close to his ear. "But we both know where we do excel no?" she whispered, smiling roguishly.

Lorey completely forgot about Damian and Raquel, who by this time were upright. Damian had a strange blush to his face, and by the looks of him, he wasn't sure what brought it on either. But Lorey enjoyed herself immensely as she was seated on the countertop towards the end of their kiss.
"Woo... I gotta order you around more often," she breathed before going in for just one more, sweeter one.
Damian whistled this time, but leaned own to Raquel to say, "Yes, I do know where we excel..."
Thankfully Lorey was too distracted with Richard to hear that little bit.

Raquel smiled, blushing herself as she reached for a carrot, stuffing it into Damian's mouth. "Eat something healthy..." She demanded, getting some yogurt for herself as she just gave him a beaming smile. This was insanity, but it was so nice. Everyone just laughing and joking around. It felt like a home. "So..." Raquel began, shutting the fridge door, and sitting herself on he counter next to Lorey once Richard had backed off a little. "Have you guys considered a date yet?" She asked, taking a spoonful of the strawberry goodness.
Richard was still a bit red himself, but in a very good mood. At mention of the wedding however, he turned to Lorey, knowing they hadn't discussed it, but was wondering if she had a date set in mind.

"Oh gosh, a date?" Lorey bit her lip, staring down to the floor in thought. They'd said they wanted to get everything in order before they got married. That would mean becoming established in their jobs, buying a house, getting furniture and things for the house... Having enough money to pay bills and everything together. She felt as though that would take forever, and sudden;y wished that they could just be married, without the fuss and paperwork.
"I'm really not sure... There's so much more to take care of first, isn't there?" She looked over to the others for some kind of confirmation, which came by a nod from Damian.
"You want to be established first. Not a bad idea, believe me. I've watched may marriages fail at the Ball Room, and most of it was simply because they rushed into things."

Richard nodded in agreement. ""There are a lot of legalities we'd have to go through...I had almost forgotten..." He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck, the reality of the work behind this dream staring to shine through. But it was all worth it for Lorey.
Raquel cocked her head slightly, swallowing some yogurt. "Really? It's more than signing your name and paying the preacher?" The only wedding Raquel had been to as an adult was a friend's who was doing a heat of the moment thing somewhere deep downtown in the gambling district. They got married in a dingy little chapel with cheesy settings. Raquel remembered back suddenly embarassed, realizing she was showing her roots again. "Ah- never mind..." She blushed, keeping her thoughts to herself as she stuffed her face with more yogurt as if to stop herself from spilling out nonsense.

Lorey shrugged, saying it was alright. "We don't have our own house, or enough money to support ourselves... I might have to get a second job. It depends on how things work out."
Damian munched on the carrot that had been shoved in his mouth, thinking. "What if I employed you? I do have a few things that need to be done. No cleaning, mostly just paperwork, sending out letters, computer things. If you can't find something else, that is."
Lorey shook her head out of amazement. Damian was always giving his heart out, it seemed, with no regard for himself. She wished she could do the same, unaware that she already did.
"If I can't find something else, then sure. I'll take you up on it."
