Marius stayed sitting for a few more minutes, then stood. He headed over to Adele, who was sitting on the sand and looked like she was crying.

Rue went over and sat next to her. He put his arm around her and gave her a little squeeze.

Adele relaxed a little when he did that. She leaned her head on his shoulder.
"Adele...there's something you should know," Marius said. "You...you were created from me before we were born. Father used magic to split my soul and form a body around the other part of my soul. That person is you..."
Adele stiffened when she heard this.
