Annora just sat in the back of the car with her pillow and blanket. She had brought it along cause it would be a long trip and she would probably sleep. I'm telling them to stop at McDonalds later... She thought to herself as she laid down and buckled her seat belt that way. She pulled the blanket over her and rested her head on the pillow as she closed her eyes. Crying really did make her sleepy. She pulled the hood of her jacket up and over her head as she curled up a little bit. She laid there quietly as she waited for Derrik and Nate to get into the car and drive off.

After giving the hug ole Rick wanted, I watch the three head away to get food somewhere. The time I've been away, I have gotten all thoughts of old crushes within our little family group out. Now I won't have to feel icky when ever I see Rick and dear Nate are together. Everything seems so normal. But when I glanced over at Angel, I couldn't help but feel a sudden tug at the very bottom of my stomach. It was a realization and sudden wave that washed over me. Something gloomy was processing over my dear Angel and it in some way, made a connection to. "Question, is everything ok with Ann?" I said worriedly. I knew I had left with out saying much and have been quiet distant from everyone else.

Waving goodbye to the others as they left, Colleen felt something was off with Annora. An eyebrow rose in curiousity just as the other furrowed in concern. She hadn't been planning to voice her worries for her friend. When Lila spoke, Colleen turned her attention back to her and shrugged. "She seems pretty upset about something." Pausing, an idea hit her. "Maybe it's something to do with the pregnancy." That was all she could really think of. A thought suddenly struck her. Both eyebrows furrowed in wonder, and Colleen spoke with a distinct curiousity. "Has anyone seen John around, by the way?"

"John's been away?" I looked at Colonel with my eyebrows knit together. Angels pregnancy is bothering her? Where is John than. Shouldn't they be together at times like this? I questioned myself, deep in thought. " switch my weight back and forth on the balls of my heel. Making forwarding and backward motions, much like a punching bag. This was a new habit I had formed from the past days I've been gone.

Mason jumped in Derrik's arms and kissed him on the cheek after giving him a chance to gather himself, then smiled as she let herself down carefully. "Have fun!" she said with a hint of sarcasm in her voice as she bid him goodbye, then kissed Nathan on the cheek. She sat on the front step in front of the door, placing her hands on her cheeks and leaning her elbows on her knees. Now it was her, Lil, and Colleen, and others who seemed to hide in their rooms all the time. "Well, Lil, I need to get my a** to the eye doctor. Why don't you chill out here, you know, get settled and all that; reaquainted with home. I'll probably be home in an hour, and Colleen's here! I'll talk to you later, k?" She half-hugged Lil and skipped to her carand hopped in, finally doing what she had been meaning to do for, what, weeks? She was getting almost too afraid to drive now, but soon, hopefully after today, this would change.

Derrik got into the car, started it up and pulled away from the house. He followed Nathan's directions, occasionally looking back to check up on Annora. He could understand she did not want to extra attention, but he could not help being concerned for her. She was pregnant and on her way to see her father and step mother be married. It seemed to Derrik there could not be a worse time for John to bail on her. Derrik switched on the radio to distract himself from these thoughts.

Colleen shrugged. She waved her farewell to Mason before taking a deep breath. It seemed she was in thought, as her eyebrows further furrowed. "Well, I haven't seen him in a while. Besides, with Annora upset like that, shouldn't John be with her to help?" A rough, calloused hand rose to run through her short hair as she gave a low hum of wonder. "I dunno. Somethings seems off."

Nathan finished his hugs and scrambled into the car. Derrik jumped into the driver's seat and drove off. Nathan would give his boyfriend directions to his step-father's, and soon to be his mother's, house. He would look back at his sister in the back seat, who was sleeping quietly on the length of the seat. Nathan smiled like he did before in Annora's room. A small, simpathetic smile. Nathan wrapped his arms around Derrik's right arm and hugged it tight. "I feel so bad for her. She must be in so much pain. Why would he just leave like that? That's not John. That's not the way he works. I just don't understand. Why now? I don't get it." Nathan stared at the radio, a confused look on his face. He was puzzled and baffled by it all over again. Why? he asked himself. Why?

"I do not get it either, Nathan. Maybe it is only a temporary thing and he just needs time... I do not know. I never saw it coming." Derrik frowned slightly, resting his hand on Nathan's knee for a moment. Then he returned his hand to the wheel and focused on driving. "To be honest, I do not want to talk about John. For whatever our friendship was worth, I'd rather not talk about what I think of him just taking off on his girlfriend and unborn baby. Nothing good can come of focusing on something like that. So we focus on Annora instead." Derrik tried to clear his head of ugly thoughts. John was his friend and he hated to lose sight of that, even with the current circumstances. He did not even realize his fingers had tightened on the steering wheel. Derrik took it personally, though he knew that was ridiculous. It took so much for Derrik to even try a serious relationship... Nathan was getting such a raw deal... but John had Annora who had always clung to him almost obsessively, never seeming to doubt their love. How could John shove that back in her face? Did he not understand how rare it was to find someone that devoted? This thought made him glance to Nathan and take his hand off the wheel once more to touch Nathan's cheek. Nathan wouldn't leave him; he supposed that made Nathan similar to Annora. Perhaps that was the real reason he was angry; he did not want to believe he could do as John had. He did not want to think that the reason he was afraid to fall in love was that he feared he might sabotage it for himself. Or maybe he was just over-analyzing. Again. It was time he cut himself some slack. Not every single bad thing that happened was some sort of omen; his relationship with Nathan would be what he made of it.

Nathan nodded. "I agree. She needs our attention and nurturing more than anything right now. I know how she feels. I've been there, I've had that happen. It's sad and scary. I wish she didn't have to feel that." Nathan look back at her. "It's easier when your a guy. Guys are more emotionally stable. We can recover quicker. She's gonna hold on to this for a long time. I hope we can help make that shorter." Nathan grabbed Derrik's hand and held it. He need a bit of security from his thoughts. Derrik could give him that. It was relieving to know that he had someone like Derrik. Someone who wouldn't leave him like that. Someone who would love him and never let him go. Nathan liked that. He liked it a lot.

Derrik laughed suddenly and shook his head. "Ah, sorry. It's just... no. This one has nothing to do with gender. My emotions are about as stable as a thumbtack balanced on its point. And last either of us checked, I am definitely quite male. It's not easy for anyone, especially not after as long as those two were together. I just wish I knew what I could do for her. Or if it would even matter, coming from me." Derrik glanced to the back seat once more. Even if he truly did have reason to be concerned, he did not intend to confront Annora with it. Least of all when she had enough problems to deal with already.

Annora's eyes were closed, her world was dark. Everything she knew and loved had disappeared in a matter of moments. Seconds. She held the blanket under her chin, not knowing if anything was real anymore. Her heart fought with her to cry... to let her heart break to pieces and never heal again. But Annora faught right back. She knew she had to be strong. For the twins. She would hide it from everyone. Hide everything she ever felt. Everything she was feeling and would feel, it would all hide. She would fight to the end of the world with her heart, making sure it would always staying connected for the babies. She would cry alone if she had to. She didn't want to depend on anyone else at that moment. It would be to hard for her to do so. Her dark world became a soft red as she heard the voices of her brother and... brothers boyfriend, talking about her and John. This felt like a knife to her heart. She kept her eyes closed to make it look like she was sleeping as she continued to listen to the words of both of them. Is that what they really think? she thought to herself about what they were talking about. She coughed a little and rubbed her nose. Cold season... She groaned a little. And 6 months pregnant... She sighed as she laid there acting to be asleep just so she could listen to the words that both of the people that were now two of the closest people to her, spoke the words they would never say if they knew she was awake.

Nathan sighed. "I guess I have to agree." He smiled softly at Derrik. Annora coughed. Nathan turned around to check on her. She was still sleeping. "I think all we can do now is be there for her. Show her how much we love her and the twins. Show how much we care. She needs us now more than ever. I'm not letting her go anywhere without me knowing. I don't want her getting hurt by anything anymore." Nathan turned back around. "We're almost there." Nathan sighed again. "s**t."

"Just be careful you don't overcrowd her. That just pushes people away." Derrik actually smiles a little at what may be the first time he's really heard anything profane out of Nathan. "No, not s**t. Because we aren't taking s**t from anyone. You, I and Annora are going to march in there and be who we are and politely invite anyone who doesn't like it to kiss our collective of asses. So don't stress over it, alright? Besides, like you said, we have to support Annora. How are you going to do that if you're a nervous wreck?" Derrik hoped at least that Nathan could handle it if only for Annora's sake. And he wasn't beyond using the plight of one to bolster the other. "Does her family know she's pregnant? Because they will once they see her." ((Edited))

Nathan dropped his head and brought it back up while pushing his long, ebony hair out of his face. "You're right. For Annora's sake." Nathan took a deep breath, but Derrik's question made him snort. "Unless we can play it off as constipation, then no. Just let them find out for themselves, but if Annora decides to hide it, then we need to back her up one-hundred percent anyway we can." Nathan smiled. "Even if it means we play it off as constipation." Nathan chuckled a bit. "Turn here. We take this road straight to..." Nathan thought for a second. "Randolph Ave. There, we take another left on Talon Lane and it should be the biggest house on the street."
