She pulled her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around them, resting her chin on her knees. "It's not that I don't like you, alright, but I'd rather start off as friends regardless. I seem to always run into teh same problem of guys telling me they like me, even though they really haven't known that long. "

Rick sighed. "Well, I wouldn't consider a kiss as betrayal. If you really did like me enough, you'd of done it, though, so I should just shut up about it." He rolled completely on the other side, grass stains almost setting into his clothes. Now, there was no way he'd let her kiss him. "I think I'm done about this. It was a stupid idea, I shouldn't have even said anything. I'm done trying. There's more important things."

Cat was silent for a moment, listening to him. "Alright then." Moving a bit she stood up and dusted herself off. "Well then Charles, it was very nice meeting you. I have to get going though, Caleb's waiting for me at home." She started walking down the side walk. "See ya." she waved to him then turned to face forward.

"Oh, come now...Let me walk you home. It's the least I can do. Besides, if not, you'd be leaving me all alone, wouldn't you?" He rose as to show he wasn't depressed, but rather wishing things had been different. "You know, one thing bothers me...As accusatory as you were with me about my being and my plans, it always seemed you were hiding something from me about Justyn."

Cat paused and waited for him. Hearing him, she looked at him with mild interest in the question. "Like what?" she asked, playing it off like she wasn't sure what he meant.

"I don't know. I was hoping you'd tell me. You've been really vague about the whole thing since the beginning, and I just have had a sense that I was lied to about a couple things. I won't mention what, I'll just let you figure that out. After all, I'd rather just have the truth."

Turbine watched the conversation closely, analyzing what the boy was saying. As time passed, the suspicion grew, but the proof dwindled. The rat had this feeling from this boy, a vibe of... not evil, just selfishness. It struck the rat that Cat had hit the nail on the head earlier, he was used to getting what he wanted. /the persistence he persued things, rather than letting them go, showed that, if only a little.
The rat took a thinking pose, wondering where this boy had appeared from. then his nose twitched. He picked up a scent he hadn't before, he hadn't been close enough before.
flashbacks came unbidden to the rat, of test labs, long hall, and paperwork especially. the boy smelled like the building Turbine was born in. Turbine was sure of it.

"Will this mean I'll get a chance? Because if so, ask your question first." His confidence was sure somewhat, but fleeting. He wasn't sure if he could manage, there actually was a bit of a leaking fear. Fear that was just a bit more visible than any other time he'd acted out. He hoped the tiny spark was unseen.

Rick complied with the task given. Out came his wrist. "The old tricks...Hmm...You're going to use the old fashioned natural lie detector trick? How does one such as you come about this knowledge? he took a pause. "Nevermind, I suppose I'm the one in question for now."

Cat smirked. "I read a lot of books believe it or not." she joked. She in turn held own wrist out. Fair was fair right. Gently pressed her middle and ring finger to the pulse in his wrist, wrapping her thumb around to hold his hand still. "Ready?"
