My library doesn't have very many books.
o.o
It's big and spacious, but not enough books.
=K
I think that we should get more books.
Has anyone read that one book describing the possible sciences of Harry Potter?
Like...for the point of an example, how levitation might work in the scientific world?

*dies laughing* I love how you said 'PT' ;DD Lolololol. Helly makes me laugh. XD -sigh- I wish I was in your LASS >< Ivy, you're just "incorrigible- incorriging her (pun intended). *sighs and takes an offered cookie* but at least your post was in response to Kita's and made sense. The mods are serious about no chat/text speak, so please, Constant Vigiliance! Having said that, it's good to see you both back and posting -let's get a good Ravenclaw Quidditch team-hope you are planning to try out for it!

I would adore visiting your library, Kitsune no Zetsumei! I love collections of original editions and manuscripts! While there are advantages to being in a city, I really miss the times I spent in rural areas, and that's one of the reasons. The other things I miss are not having a fireplace when it's chilly snowy and rainy out, not having an apple orchard next door to walk in, and being able to have a really giant dog or two (at that time an Irish wolfhound and a white, wolf-like Kuvasz (descended from Tibetan mastiff). I love to cuddle Mom's Pomeranian Havah, and my friend's Chihuahua pup, but it's not the same as leaning into or onto a really big canine! Topaz remembers Tadyatha the Kuvasz, but I'm afraid my silver smarty-pants Bodhi has never come into contact with anything larger than the Pom and a Pug. (He was quite horrified, and they didn't stay long enough for me to show him they are rather nice citizens).
So, I hope they have some of Mercedes Lackey, but take up Orna and try to pick up her novels in specific order. There are several series going at once, and some she and I will recommend you read before others.
Lastly: Quidditch!!! I see we have at least one Ravenclaw who has put in for the captain position. I'm eager to see more from our smart and skillful House - anyone drawn to seeker, keeper or beater? Let's go Ravenclaw!!!

I'm not much of a leader person...
>.<
I'm a follower...
^^
Most of the times unless the leader/captain just makes me a bit...ticked off...
=3
So what's everyone going to do?
And are the house leaders and mods going to play, too?
Or would that be unfair?
(Just curious...=])

I tried out for Quidditch I thought I'd be one of many, so we need more people! I like keeping, personally, but I love trivia. Come on, Ravenclaws!
Trivia and smarts are our thing and our guild quidditch is based off of Harry Potter trivia! Let's get out there and make a fantastic team!

I'm more of an analysis person, I guess. Little facts usually aren't my thing. ^^" But who knows, I might just do well! ^^" Eh, I guess I'll have to start rereading the books again...you know, just in case. =]

Hello my dear fellow Ravenclaws! After some confusion, and an awful lot of puzzling, I have finally made my first post! Okay, I know it's not that big of a deal to anyone but myself, I just felt the overwhelming need to announce it! sweatdrop
My answer to the first philosophical question would be:
I think my greatest strength has to be that I have the wonderful ability to sit down and listen to someone if they need to talk. As long as I'm not getting a lecture from my step dad or his silly attempts to try and psychoanalyze me, I can listen for hours to a friend if he or she needs to talk. In return, my friends will listen to any pointless, although mildly inspirational, rants that I feel like spewing out at the nearest passerby. I also have the wonderful quality of appreciating my friends for who they are and their opinions on everything. I don't simply hang out with people because of their looks, or if they're popular (truth be told, I'm the girl that everyone expects to be a snob but winds up hanging with the misfits and oddballs biggrin ), I hang out with them for them, if it makes any sense.
Truth be told, I wouldn't be surprised if my entire post had no decipherable meaning to anyone but myself in any way. If so, please don't heistate to ask what I'm talking about. ^_^ I always am willing to explain in depth, although on occasion I will wind up delving into a long and winded rant that will make less sense than the actual post. Of course, I'll be able to establish a new way of explaining myself as I get to know everyone. Well, cheers!
Proud new Ravenclaw, Ashley

Yeah, high fives and welcomes to all the new Ravenclaws I might have missed! LadyHealingHands Lastly: Quidditch!!! I see we have at least one Ravenclaw who has put in for the captain position. I'm eager to see more from our smart and skillful House - anyone drawn to seeker, keeper or beater? Let's go Ravenclaw!!! I'm thinking of applying for beater or seeker, actually ^_^ Good luck to everyone else who applies for a position on the team! I may only have a Nimbus 1000 SE, but as long as it gets the job doen that's what matters, right? sweatdrop

Ashley, welcome to Ravenclaw! I'm your friendly Head of House, and you'll be meeting Orna, our prefect and mod. The art and skill of listening is one I value a lot, many don't realize how liberating and healing it is to be listened to really well. You are a most appreciated addition to Ravenclaw, and please feel free to ask questions if you have them, we have a great bunch of folks in this house! KitaAmaya asks And are the house leaders and mods going to play, too? Or would that be unfair? (Just curious...=]) Good questions, Kita -would you post that in the Quidditch thread? Mods and House Leaders cannot receive points, but we can participate in games of chance. It may be that we are support to you, since House points are given out, and probably other prizes as as well. I'll post this question in our mod forum and see what the other mods think. I myself have a lot of behind the scenes projects I'm in the midst of, both alone, and with Capt. Kim and the other mods, though I can't speak for them, I know I can't particpate on a team this term, but perhaps as a BU (Back-Up) depending on the timing of the games.

How is everyone today? I've personally never heard of Margaret Lackey before...I'll go check it out at the library. I live in a small town so my library is incredibly tiny..but I request for things and they still come through. About the football thing...the chargers won! heart xd I am so happy for the chargers..I'm not a football fan but I still support my team. I would try out for the quidditch..I just don't really understand it. Can anyone explain it to me?

Basically, put short, it's like a trivia quiz.
You need to be asked 5 trivia questions (if you're the chaser) in order even attempt scoring (to score, you need to ask a question to which the keeper responds incorrectly.)
The rules of a seeker are different, but you have to look for the 4 snitch parts wherever they may be: People's profiles, guild forums, etc. (clues will be given.)
Keepers and Beaters have to ask questions to either protect the goal (and pass the ball), as well as to make other players lose PP.
PP is "Personal Points", I think and once your PP goes to 0, you have to get benched and substituted. You lose PP points whenever you miss a question (easier questions mean more PP points lost.)
Captains of teams (you should apply), are responsible for keeping the team in line and for having practices (quizzing, etc.)
That's just the surface though, there's at least 10 times more detail in the actual forum, check it out!

"What are your greatest strengths?"
My greatest strengths would probably be my intelligence, my ability to shove away unpleasant thoughts, and my writing ability.

Welcome, new Ravenclaws! :33
Hm. I might try out for Quidditch, but I don't know! I'm not quite a big trivia person...haha.
Quick apology--sorry for the brief "chat/text speak"! Won't happen again :]

Welcome to all the new Ravenclaws! We need Quidditch players - it's based on trivia, and we're the smart ones! Or so they say...^_^ I'd love some house support, and even guild support in the avatar arena next week! I've done a cosplay of our favorite loony and yours, Luna Lovegood! The voting won't start until monday but everyone wants a HP avatar to win first prize, right? wink *cough-and I want the 50000g that comes with first place-cough* You didn't have to hear that...^^; Anyway, I'll bring a link next week when the voting starts - go Luna! Here's what she'll look like and yes, Dirigible Plums/Radish earrings were orange in canon. sweatdrop
