Kaen sighed and ran a hand over her hair. "I hope she didn't leave without me...." she muttered as she grabbed a peach out of the bowl.

"I haven't seen her." Lily answered Kaen, now lightly stroking Arlen's hair. "Is something wrong, Miss Kaen?" she asked, tipping her head to the side.

A tray of mugs in hand, Cerri came back out, yawning as she made the rounds, offering one to everyone. Her last stop was Juno and Wren, and she gave a small smile. "Ah, you two have found each other. Lovely."

Juno turned his head. "Cerri? Is that you? Long time no see." He gently put Wren down and gladly accepted the mug offered to him. "Thanks." He staggered slightly as Wren latched onto his hip, smiling into his mug.

Wren smiled at Cerri, shaking her head to decline the cocoa. Then she looked pleadingly at Cerri. "Help me Cerri. Tell him he can't leave yet. He just got here. I can tell he wants to go now that he knows I'm safe. Make him stay."

"Indeed a long time." Cerri answered softly, head tipping to one side. "A curse and a death ago, if I'm not mistaken." She took a mug for herself, then set the tray aside - any who'd refused and changed their minds would be able to help themselves. "And you can't leave yet. The little one needs you." she smiled warmly at Wren, then arched her brow at the man. "She has been through rather a lot, you know."

Lily, still snuggling Arlen, sipped her cocoa, watching with interest. This was another part of Cerri's memory that had been kept clouded, out of her reach. She recognized Wren and Juno, but wasn't entirely sure what the older woman was getting at.

Guan took the mug offered to him, but just set it aside. "Is something wrong?" he asked Kaen.

Arlen set his empty cup aside and gently whispered "Suil chait." Changing into a cat didn't make him feel any better, but curling up in Lily's lap made it easier to stay warm.

"Her godfather was supposed to be getting married tonight, and I had been invited," she said, sitting on a stool and turning to face everyone.

Lily smiled, then lay back on the couch and gently moved Arlen to her chest and pulled the blanket over the both of them, careful to keep his head outside. Under it, she cuddled him to her, trying to get him as warm as possible, stroking his fur, half her attention on the conversation between Kaen and Guan.

Lily, still snuggling Arlen, sipped her cocoa, watching with interest. This was another part of Cerri's memory that had been kept clouded, out of her reach. She recognized Wren and Juno, but wasn't entirely sure what the older woman was getting at.

Juno's eyebrows arched. He whistled low. "A curse and a death ago? I'm sorry that I couldn't help with that. I felt like we were so close. If I hadn't been called out on another mission, I'm sure we could have broken your curse. I'm sorry." He bowed. Looking at Wren's now adorably cute puppy dog eyes, he smiled softly. "I suppose I probably should stay a while longer. Goodness knows this kid needs all the help she can get right now." He grinned, bracing himself.

A flame of righteous anger grew in Wren's eyes. She sniffed, glaring at Juno. "I'm not so hopeless as to need the likes of you if you're going to be like that about it. I've managed pretty well without you for three months."

Juno chuckled. "well aren't you the confident one? I was only kidding shrimp. Dont take it so personally." He poked her gently in the side.

Wren huffed and went to stand behind Cerri, before sticking her tongue out at Juno. "You big bully. You havent seen me in six months, and all you can do is tease me? Some friend you are. If I were my right size, you know I'd kick your butt." She grinned.

"It wasn't the curse that got me." Cerri answered with a dismissive wave of her hand, then adjusted her eye patch, single eye gleaming. "It was a wizard... but he'll get what's coming." Then she smiled and dropped her hand to Wren's hair, ruffling it lightly. "Of course you would. Would you like me to do it for you since you are currently unable?" she asked teasingly, winking down at the girl. "Though if you do want him to stay, I shouldn't advise taking me up on that."

Wren smiled widely at Cerri. "No thanks. I'll get him later. I know his weaknesses." "And don't think being small has made me uncappable of executing a good punishment," she added to Juno.

Juno looked surprised. "Oh dear. I therefore withdraw humbly and ask your forgiveness, your royal squirtness, although i think my apology may fall on deaf ears."

Wren grinned mischeviously, an odd glint in her eye. "Darn straight." She laughed. "And as your royal squirtness, as you so fondly deemed me, I command you to stay for a whole week."

"I see. Well I'm sorry, but I only came down a moment ago," Guan said. "I don't know anything about it."

"When did he learn to turn into a cat?" he asked perplexed as he spotted Arlen's sudden transformation.

Arlen for his part effectively reduced his realm of perception to him, Lily, and the blanket. He couldn't care about anything else that happened outside of those three things.

Cerri chuckled, then shook her head, sipping her cocoa. "You two are like small, related children." she murmured, ruffling Wren's hair again. "Can I get you too anything?"

Still stroking Arlen, Lily looked up at Guan and smiled. "I made him a pendant. It's magicked... as long as he's got it, he can change into a cat. He wanted it when we found out I could turn into a bunny."

Wren giggled. "No thank you."

Juno bowed to Wren. "As you wish." Chuckling, he turned his attention to Cerri. "I would hate to impose. If its not too much to ask, I am a bit hungry after my travels. Anything will do, thanks."

Wren tugged gently on Cerri's clothes. "He lies. HE doesn't like anything but bread, cheese, wine and soup. He just learned to pretend in the military. Isn't it riddiculous?" Wren giggled again, rolling her eyes.

"Well then, I'll make him a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup, so long as he's okay with that." Cerri told the girl, almost laughing herself now. "And I shall serve it with wine. And no, it's not silly... sometimes you have to pretend in order to fit in." The woman bent to kiss Wren's brow, then set her mug aside and vanished again into the kitchen.

"I see," Guan said, relaxing. "I knew it wasn't one of his abilities."

Arlen for his part was too busy focusing on how nice it felt to be held like this in order to ignore the fact that he was sick to notice that Guan knew more about his powers than he mentioned.

Wren snorted. "grilled cheese. hehe." She in no means meant contempt, only that Cerri must be a mind reader. No one else knew that that was Junos favorite meal.
Juno smiled. "Man, i haven't had that since you used to make it, Wren. And wine too. I could get used to this." He chuckled.
