I want to say I find it hard to believe that half the GCD is bitching Gaia out over "only" donating 10%, but...I really don't. XP Either way, it's kind of infuriating when people say things like that. Of all forums, we're the one that should be well aware that Gaia is way in the red itself and really needs all the money it seems to try and pull from our veins. It's unfortunate, and there may be better ways of going about it than relying almost entirely on the cash shop, but...there are hundreds of people working there and tens of servers, all of which need to be funded. And I know I'm probably preaching to the choir here, but...blegh. Only reason I haven't said all this to anyone actually saying these things is because I have nothing else to say, and can't very well re-assert myself if challenged, which is what I know will happen. I'm good at making a first argument, but not at arguing, which generally results in me holding back my opinions instead of trying to maintain a point when I know that no matter how convinced I am, I'll crumble, and become twice as frustrated as I get from bottling it up.
But...in some twisted way, the propensity of the GCD to find something to hate about every update/feature/announcement is part of why I find it so goddamn loveable. I guess in this case, familiarity breeds affection. XP They're my forum. I'm proud to be a GCDer, and I'll stick with 'em right over the moral event horizon! *overdramatic gesture/pose of some sort*
Doesn't mean they don't annoy even me sometimes. Like, y'know, right now. ._.

I just found out that I need to buy a bathing suit for that Zorbing thing I'm doing, and I'm kind of nervous about it. I haven't liked the way I look in a bathing suit for a really long time, and I don't even like the way I look in my clothes (I tend to just wear jeans and t-shirts even though they're not exactly flattering for my body type). But is there such thing as a bathing suit that's actually flattering on a body like mine (ie, fat)? I like those ones with the little skirt-things built in, but I'm not sure how common those are, like if they'd have them at whatever store I end up going to. Or should I just say screw it get a regular old one-piece? Ugggggh, I just wanna wear my regular clothes! XD

Dood. It's not impossible. People just tailor to the skinny egotists. Tailor whilst tailoring. Hm.

[/weird babbling] And that is why I left the GCD.
I went there today to look at the new items and I saw an old acquaintance who said something along the lines of "if Blizzard can donate 50% of profits, why does Gaia only give 10%?" and I almost made an audible sound because I rolled my eyes so hard. Blizzard makes you pay for World of Warcraft. Gaia has optional items you can buy with money. And you can buy those with free Gaia gold, too. 50% of profits is a decent amount for THE most popular MMORPG on the internet, 10% for 1 item on a doll dress-up forum is a LOT of money. Gaia is a small company.
GCD always bitches. About everything. They are never happy. There are still people in there who hate the Cash Shop with every ignorant fiber of their being. They find something to complain about with every new release. People there LOVE to complain about a decline in quality of items, even though if you look at earlier items and look at items NOW there has clearly been an "increase" of quality.
I finally left when I realized that McSourface was used as a symbol that they represented themselves. Ironically? Perhaps. But either way, it's still retarded to represent yourself with a character who was made to PARODY YOUR MOST RIDICULOUS ASPECTS.
GCD bugs the crap out of me. I like to think that it's really annoying because a lot of Gaia's userbase is unpleasable, but the GCD is the place where all these unpleasable people congregate.
I'm a schmuck. I'll go into the GCD, look at a thread or two because of a RIG or something, and get curious, click an unrelated thread and ragequit because they're just so ungrateful and annoying.

@Kestin and Qiam: I'm not complaining that 10% is a small amount to donate (heck it more than other companies donate), but I will say, if Gaia was giving 50% of the money to charity, I'd be more likely to by one of the items (or even a few of them) since it would feel like I'm giving more (granted I could just directly donate money without buying anything, but yeah) also, if they didn't freeze/lock purchases made with GC bought using my debit card I would have bought one today. If I got a animal I didn't like I would want to wait a week to be able to sell it.

I like learning... but I don't regard myself as "smart" because of my academic past...
But I don't care anymore as long as I have a future.

Usually Walmart, Target, Kohls and.. well, you get the picture. Personally, I can't remember where I got mine but mine is a small black skirt and the top has ruffled layers so you can't really tell my stomach is big. ;D Large chest has it's advantages sometimes. But yeah, they are pretty common. ^^

@Rayne (don't know how to fix your post, so I'm just not gonna touch it in case you're able to XD) : Oooh, thank you! I haven't been bathing suit shopping in forever, so I have no idea what's in style or whatever and didn't know how hard those would be to find. Now I'm a little bit less worried, but still kinda mehhhh about the whole thing XD

Yeah, sorry about that. I had the skip box checked but it still put in my format.. hdsdhkfhjgk--
Anyway. Yeah, the skirt style came in... I'd have to say maybe 5 years ago? (Or at least, that's when I really noticed it) It's basically the only kind I like to wear because it's also a two piece.. much more comfortable. :3
Just shop around a bit. I think the last two I got were at Walmart but Kohls has some REALLY cute stuff if you've got the money. >w<
