Sevilin raised an eyebrow. That was interesting to garner such 'protection' from another. Okay so then what was the catch because he wasn't buying this at all. Even if Malik considered Sevilin 'his property' property and work force could be replaced. "Let's not speak of those two...my nerves cannot handle that...and you know I get a little...insane...when pushed too far." And he liked his sanity. "But do tell...how did I earn such a rank in your little watchful gaze?"
Then a shrug. "Aren't they the same thing? Like your little life tapping trick for instance...I could very well theorize that you could tap the energies off of someone else...drain them of thiers rather than yours. Be a parasite, more or less, off of a host." Then a raise of an eyebrow and a scoff.
"Looking to shortcut the hundred plus years of bodily training? Don't think mere tricks and transferences are going to cure you of what the runes will ail you with."
"Of course I know, that's the beauty of the thing." Piper smiled lightly with a little shrug. Sure she'd like things to be different but they weren't...and if Zahara wanted this thing to go this way then Piper wouldn't say anything about it...despite how she may not like it. Some things she had to just let slide these days, simple as that. Another little shrug. "Oh...a little hot, oddly bubbly...but I suppose comng home and what not would do that. It's wonderful to be home again, despite how nice the surface can be." Another giggle from her. "Drow complex indeed."

"you're part of my house, sevilin. that enough earns you my watchful gaze. I trust your judgements, else I would nto have left you in charge of my affairs in my absence. Unlike what you are accustomed to, Drow from my plane take thier houses very seriously. to threaten one is to threaten all, a single brick dislodged weakens the entire structure."
Then a slight grin.
"We'll I was hoping for just that. but the parasitic thing sounds intersting. hmm. maybe use a shared pain spell. the mystical version of a misery chain. not nearly as effective, but might get the job done. either way, that was what I wished to inform you about. and what is this about thunder? you know as well as I do there's no thunder down here. we get rainstorms, not thunderstorms."

"Well that's to be expected considering all of the potions you've been taking. At some point the results had to become apparent right?" She leaned up on her elbow and glanced over Piper's form with her eyes. "Shouldn't be long now, really. If it hasn't already happened. Soon enough indeed." She sighed softly and dropped back down on her back. "Nice to be home indeed. Sevilin actually seemed...somewhat happy to see me. I don't know how to feel."

A long look at Malik before he merely nodded at him. Well he supposed that was a good enough excuse. He didn't care to challenge Malik on the fact or anything of the sorts at all...just wasn't looking for the fight...he had worse things on his mind right now, Malik's word or not.
Sevilin nodded. "Yes, I know...there's no possible way to have thunder down here...but I heard it. Distantly at best. And yes, I do know the difference between minor Underdark quakes and thunder. Perhaps the mage students were just playing around with spells or what not. I'm just telling you what I heard."
"Well...at least we haven't had to switch it in four months...makes my life a lot easier. And no more nose bleed thing." Yes a few kink working and all the bugs had been worked out...she still occassionally got sick off the stuff but had to pay a price somewhere now didn't she? "Results...I wish..." Apparent? She didn't think so...after all, wouldn't a result of this all be her being pregnant and well she wasn't...but bad thoughts aside. "Maybe..." And she turned her attention back to Zahara. "Did he now? I wasn't aware that he could express such an emotion." Now that got a giggle because it was actually funny. "Amused maybe?"

"Yes that was an odd quirk of that last one. I dind't realize that you would react so badly to that particular brand of snake blood...but you did and that's what we had to change. Thankfully it was only your nose and not somewhere much worse. Of course I still would have felt better if you had linked me when it first started instead of waiting till you came back, but that was your choice and lecturing you about it won't do me anymore good now than it did then." She chuckled, a habit she'd picked up on Andal being around so many elves that readily laughed and showed emotion. "Yes, apparently he can. Actually he was really kind of confused. I think it's because I look different, personally. You know no more Llothian evidence anywhere and the most significant change..." glancing down at her slightly distended stomach once again. "We cheated him out of three months, though it doesn't bother me in the least." She shook her head a moment, going quiet then growled in frustration, "I'm so restless...I think I need to fight someone."

Arthur whistled a small tune as he walked down the hallway noting how Sevilin gave him a small smirk when they passed. That was odd the only time that drow ever gave him that look was when he was amsued by something, oh well it's best not to dwell on it. The young surface elf entered the libary yet again, it seemed like he was making more trips to this place in the past couple of moths. He was reading up on magic spells that he could learn for all the other elements that he was now in control of; he really wanted to learn some good tehniques fast so he could be better at fighting because three months ago he couldn't do squat against Malik even if he fought at the best of his ability.
Noting on where he took the book from Arthur set it down on the table and started to read it, it was a book on how to manipulate the winds and how effective you can make them when given enough force.

Piper held up her hands in that 'stop right there' way. "We don't discuss what you put in those things that I then ingest, remember?" Right, she didn't want to know as long as it didn't kill her or something like that. As long as it did what it was supposed to, that was all that mattered. "And there wasn't much you can do about it..." Piper had to supress the negative feelings that wanted to bubble up then at the talk of Sevilin and how detached Zahara was from this all. Sad really, but she didn't say anything. Let the little morals be caged away on the issue. Even to spite her own feelings on it all, and perhaps a bit of jealousy. "Well, everyone takes change differently...and well there's not much he can do with it right now." Then a blink at her growl. "You know he wouldn't let you...and it's probably not the best idea...could throw china at the walls. You like to do that."
Nym slunk out from under the couch now, his new pair of socks and Zahara's ring in his mouth, looking around and twitching his nose. Well, she had vacated the space which made it known to him that she had given up on her efforts, at least momentarily, in her efforts to make him into a purse.
Or she had turned into Arthur. A chitter behind the elf as he had decided to take her place in the library. That elf spent a lot of time in the library now as well...why did they all love the library? Were those book things really that enjoyable...they weren't even nice to sleep on. But making his way up the table leg he plopped on its surface and then took to rooting around the things Zahara had left there.

Arthur paused and used a finger to flip the page then went back to reading up on what subject he was reading at the moment. It seemed he needed to focus his energy into one spot then push it outwards, moving the air with it; the strong the push and the more energy behind it the stronger the winds. The young elf paused for a second as he heard a familiar chitter, oh boy Nym was in the room. He watched out of the corner of his eye as the little thing made it's way up the table leg then started to go through Zahara's stuff. "Hey Nym having fun?" he asked with a light chuckle.

His little red runed head popped up, with his little sharp teeth around a glass vial with some glowing blue liquid in it that sloshed with the movement. Fun? But of course I am, I'm always having fun when I'm going through your things so why wouldn't I have fun going through other people's things? A muffled odd sounding noise from him, since he had a vial in his mouth and here merely took to rooting again.

"then we'd best tread carefully. Omega is out there still. and given Dimitri's fondness for such names, I'll wager there's an Alpha someplace. Both of which, judging from the scars on Meilikki's abdomen, and her own memories of rape, are probably children of him and meilikki. so power is one thing they have in abundance I'd imagine."
A lean back.
"And had I known even the simplest master level tricks, woudl put me in that much pain, I woudl have done something else to her chaindog then just move him aroudn in his chair. I'd have made the pain something worth having for the results."

Okay he'd privately admit to himself....he was wonderfully amused at Malik's pain. For whatever reason, it humbled Sevilin to know that despite all the tricks Malik could pull and all the influence he wanted to push on others, he wasn't as all powerful as he perhaps wanted to be. Yes, amused. Of course he wasn't going to outwardly give any sign of that.
"So then...those we sought to destroy have merely found a loop hole through all of that effort...pity." He hated useless endevours, but some couldn't be avoided now could they? "So then in other words...we're lying low for a while? No outburst of power and what not to create more lakes..." He smirked lightly though raised an eyebrow at Malik's further mentionings of people he didn't want to hear or talk about. Made him fidgety. A chuckle from him, "Perhaps you should just join Zahara in her lessons."

"Not really. without Dimitri to guide them, they are merely powerful peices on the board. which means they can be allies, or enemies. And ntohing about laying low, only treading carefully. don't go out of our way to attract attention, but no need to hide. if you feel we need another lake, make one. if I feel the defense of my home needs to be so heavy that it lights up a mage's sight like a solar flare, I will have it done."
A slight smirk.
"I know what she's learning, just not conditioned for it. unless conditioning is the next subject your plannign to broach?"

"Bold as ever, acquiring a wife I see has not dimmed that particular fire in your being." Hey if Malik wanted to be a beacon of magical energy then so be it, Sevilin wasn't particularly worried about that at all. He had his own protections and what not. It was kind of funny in a way...for an elf that wanted his life to go smoothly and merely have his land and trades and comfy life, he sure did like to attract a large amount of attention.
"With what you want her to know and seeing as you don't want it to take the hundred or so that is used for conditioning alone, I've started in on it a bit. Though that was before you all left." One of those 'shouldn't you expect as much from me' looks.

"Good. But I think I'll let you and her have that time alone. After all, you need to be fully aware of everything that goes on with her, without distraction as much as possible. I know the deal you made. and I would hate to cause a distraction while she might do something stupid in her youth, much like I did to prove a point in Council."
Yes, Malik could admit when he did something stupid. Besides, he had a wife of his to spend plenty of time with. especially since that little potion working had finally paid off.

"Indeed you make your point...seeing as she has before done exactly what you did. Not anywhere near the level you did, but she still did it. I'm pleased to say that she learned her lesson just as you did. Hopefully she learned from it. Besides...she's not going to be allowed to do much runing for the next six months."
A little shrug. "She's bold and thinks much like you. She wants to do it and wants to do it now...and she can't nor will I let her until after her pregnancy really. Maybe minor runing with aids but not her own. Runes don't care what condition your body is in." Ah the comfort of speaking about things near and dear.
Did he care that Malik knew of thier dealings? Not really...Malik practically knew everything about him, except the things a twisted mind kept locked away and wouldn't even budge on. But he knew enough. "Oh I so suppose I should mention that that human raised elf boy is still here, alive and kicking as well. Though he's...discovering his elvish roots and trying to better himself to be as he should. And he had a positively lovely time sleeping with any of your slaves that would have him. I personally found it amusing, catching him in compromising situations in inappropriate areas and what not."
He took a breath and looked back to Malik. "Is that all you need of me then or do you have more to accost me over?"
