The group of elves concelled themselves amongst the rocks, using the heat of the objects to absorb their heat signaturs, the rushing stream underneath to hide their movements from a tremor sensing. Using rags colored to match the rocks, and painting their flesh to match the rocks as well, the elves were practically invisible. Their quarry would never know what hit them.

Fin lay still, the youngest and most inexperiance member of the party, waiting for his turn to act in the very well planed ambush for the oncoming orc raiders.

Several months ago, an orc tribe seemed to get the idea that the purian elves were trying to destroy them, and marched upon the tribes of the peninsula. The elvish scouts picked up on the marches well in advance, and have been working to keep them away from the common elves as much as possible. Several warbands were formed to ambush marching orc warriors before they could reach the vulnerable and open areas of the south-western section of the penisula, south and east of the Triumverate Fortress.

The targets marched into the desinated area, and when the last orc had crossed the 'line', the ambush began. The elvish scouts suddenly appeared about the larger orc force, and shouted their war cries and noises, wailing a barrage of javilins upon the orcs. The missiles hit many of the brutes, and killed a few, causing a tremendous shock to the orcish morale. The elves followed their iniatal attack with a charge, lances ((any spear that is not thrown is a lance)), swords, and axes flailed about causing destruction and death. The orcs were overwhelmed by the ambush, and hopelessly slaughtered by the elves.

The scouts gathered amonst the carnage, some keeping watch for any additional orcish scouts that may have gone of to look for those killed by another member of the elvish warband.

They spoke softly, trying not to make too much noise after causing such a commotion. The silence was broken when the severed head of the elvish scout who's job was to elimiate the orcish scouts fell amonst them. Weapons were readied, and the elves stood in a circular formation, watching for signs of an attack. The space around them seemed to distort for a moment, when suddenly a large dark mass of cloud and panther flesh pounded into the group, taring into the elves rather brutally. The ambushers had become ambushed. The elves reacted with haste, quickly adjusting themselves to meet this new challange, but their formation only increased the speed in which their new foe slaughtered them. The creature batted aside lances and swords, clawed through flesh and bone, even bit several throats and skulls.

Fin lunged his spear at the thing, but two long tenticals wraped around him, and casually tossed him into a nearby stream. The elf hit his head hard on a rock, and fell unconcious, unaware of the destruction that befell his unit. All of the other elves in the warband were slain by that Greedy foe.

Wow...that was horribly awkward now wasn't it. A little nod to her. "Hi..." Oh yeah that was a nice response, what the hell was wrong with you? Stop it. For a momentary loss of words he took to looking her over. She looked...different. Very different. All her jewelry was different, blood red replaced with a mellow amber, her clothes were more...pastel, and light, less threatening and Underdark blending. And her hair was much longer now, all the way to her shoulders. And of course her stomach had that outward curvature to it that spoke of being pregnant, but in the elvish graceful way. He didn't know what to think...but he did know that he was standing there, eyes roving over her like an idiot.

So he cleared his throat. "You're not...horribly busy ready with a pile of books to throw at me are you?" Because he was used to that and it was a nice icebreaker to get her at least talking...admittingly he had questions of her and what not...and he was doing that little attention whore thing again. He really needed to stop that.

She stared at him for a long moment and then chuckled shaking her head and backing up. And just like that the spell was broken. "No, I don't. But I'm sure I could get one together in a hurry." Heading over to her table again she glanced around. "Enter at your own risk..." She hadn't thrown any books at anyone in a long time..ever since she'd been in Andal. Tucking that stray piece of hair behind her ear she set Nym down on the table and bent to scribble something down on a pad before glancing back at him. "How have you been Sevilin? Enjoy your time to yourself?"
PostPosted: Thu Aug 03, 2006 1:24 pm

He gave somewhat of a lopsided grin at her little statment as she had backed up and he had stepped into the room, following her back to the table, giving a pet to Nym as he was set down. He wasn't quite comfortable...this was all different. She looked different, she was acting different, and well he had never been in this situation yet.

"I tend to take my risks..." After who, what would one call eating food that he had made himself? That was a risk right there...if it could be classifed as food in the first place. But he leaned against the table some. "Well...not as much as I would think...it was quiet. Though I did have my fun at Arthur's expense." A little chuckle at that before he sobered himself.

"And how have you been? Everything been...progressing well?" The question was asked almost as if he shouldn't be asking it...and that was his mindset, he shouldn't be because this shouldn't concern him. But they weren't in such a society. A little tilt of his head as he let his eyes drop slightly to her stomach, thinking about the time that had passed and his 'shut up filter' was broken at that moment. "I didn't think you would be showing yet..."

She was mentally going over things until he started talking and then she listened though she was still multitasking with her plans. "Same old thing gets boring after a while so it's actually understandable." She didn't ask about Arthur though her memory was jogged and she wondered if he had changed at all in the time they'd been gone. It wouldn't be a hardship to go see him though it might give him the idea she returned his affection. Now where had that thought come from? Since when did she care what men thought? She gratefully grasped his question and smiled, "I'm fine and everything else is fine." She made it a point not to address the child as anything that might tie her to it. Picking up a stack of books she walked over to the bookshelf and began to put them away until she only had two or three left which got set down on random shelves while she lifted up onto her tiptoes to shove them where they belonged. "It's been six months. Isnt' that normally when it becomes apparent?" Was she off or something? Was the ba...it growing faster than it was supposed to?

He watched her go about putting books away...and resisted the urge to help her do what she needed done. Women didn't like feeling helpless after all. "Oh well...that's good. Would hate to think you were horribly ill or, other...negative things and what not." Yeah this was awkward and new to him now wasn't it?

Then a blink. "Six? It's only been three..." which brought forth his thinking look...hm, he had never really though about it, but perhaps time flow was different...wasn't uncommon from plane to plane really. After all, time differed in its trails and ties just as the fabrics of planes did. "Well...I suppose going to Andal was good for you...moved things along."

He watched her a moment, looking her up and down a moment. "You look good, Zahara." Breaks. What was that he just said? Oh great...here came the mocking or something that she usually did...would probably say he was trying to cover up from calling her fat or something.

She didn't even think about it just nodded, "Everything's fine. Don't worry, I had plenty of people to fuss over me in Andal. Tehy wouldn't have let anything happen to me regardless of the situation." It was good to know that she wasn't strange. "Three? It's been six, half a year...hasn't it?" Her mind wandered off in that direction for a moment, thinking. She shoved the last book into the shelf and teetered for a moment, off balance but reached for the shelf and held on to keep herself from falling backwards. That would have been embarassing. Turning to face him she inclined her head. "Thank you. So do you." And then right back over to her table where she started going through papers.

Arthur had changed somewhat over the past three months, not just in confidence because he had sex a few times with the half-eleven slaves, but in strength and in looks. Ever since he had his little chat with Sevilin in the library the young elf had trained with that half-elf who he fought before, asking her to help him strength his magic ability; the half-elf agreed and trained him in using basic magic in the other elements he had never used all of his life then went on from there. Now Arthur has learn some basic skills when it came to all elements and he planed on learning more.
His clothing style has changed too, it looked like he was wearing more elvish clothing than human, though he was wearing what looked like his regular clothing they were made out of eleven thread and had designs woven into them. He was wearing a red silk short sleeve top, a white vest with gold trimming, brown leather pants and black leather boots, he wore the same gloves he had before and now had a different necklace on; one made of black amber instead.
The young elf was still in his room so he didn't know that the others had come home. With a small sigh he took out his violin and started to practice some scales to warm up so that he could get himself ready before he played a song. When he finished he started to play the same song he did for Sevilin about three months ago, he really loved this song and was glad he got the man who made to teach him when he asked. Slowly the elf closed his eyes and let himself get lost in the music, his body swaying lightly as he played his melody.

A little perplexed blink as she had rather calmly and positively responded to his little blurted out compliment. And she ever returned one to him...which he didn't know how to feel about either. Yeah this was....yeah. A shrug. "I liked your hair shorter though..." You can stop giving opinions now, there's no point in it. You're just trying to further conversation. "Only three here...but planes times differ. Not uncommon." And to that he waved a dismissive hand.

"Well..go to know you were taken care of. If you...need anything...well...yeah..." And he turned on his boot heel to start leaving the room, there was really no point for him to be around her was there? No, she seemed to have everything under control. "I'll just...leave you be then." He could entertain himself...surely. He didn't need attention from anyone.

Slowly the shuffling of parchment stopped and she spun on her heel and watched him, her head tilted inquisitively for a long moment. He seemed to be...acting strange. Her hand went up to her hair in a self-conscious gesture. "It grew out and I thought I'd let it..." She'd always had long hair, down almost to her ankles at one point before she learned how easy it was for people to step on and do strange things to, then she'd cut it to her a**. She wasn't horribly worried about the time as long as she was right on schedule when it came to her pregnancy but he seemed so unsure of himself. "I haven't forgotten our deal Sevilin. Don't worry, I'm sure I'll need something before the day ends." She paused briefly searching for something to say then cleared her throat, "Did you want to cancel lessons? I mean...I know it's not dark and early but...you probably want to go home though. Have a nice day Sevilin."

Her voice had him stopping for a moment to turn slightly and look at her. Was that self conciousness he was seeing in her? He shrugged lightly. "Just giving my opinion...short suited you is all." Why was this horribly awkward. Ah yes, he wasn't used to even attempting to try and care for someone else. Well...someone who already had well formed opinions and what not.

A raise of an eyebrow at her. "I never said you did..." Now why would she say that? But her only got more perplexed as she continued on. "Lessons? I'd think you wouldn't want anything to do with those...last I checked you would come up with any excuse you could to get out of them..."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 03, 2006 5:05 pm

She would keep that in mind. No wait, it was her hair. Hers to do whatever she wished with it. But then she'd been startled more than a few times by the feel of it against her shoulders. Not having it there had been nice for a while and when she'd cut it, it had been like a huge weight completely lifted off her shoulders. But that was another thing altogether. She glanced back at him and shrugged, "I guess I just got used to it. But if you don't want to that's fine...just forget I mentioned it..." Now it was horribly awkward for her. She felt like she'd just said something completely taboo and now he was scrambling to find a way to turn her down without pissing her off or coming off like a b*****d. She'd let him out of it gracefully. "I have a lot of things to do anyway..."

He rubbed at the back of his neck a moment. "Right...sorry to have bothered you..." Uh huh...this was just weirder than usual. But there was nothing else to say was there? Seeing as she had just practically dismissed him. Thus giving a sigh and turning once more, this time actually making it out of the room. That went horrible...not good at all really it seemed. Sevilin was realizing that he wasn't sure how to handle this...and that was a new thing entirely to him.

She watched him go, the same perplexed look on his face mirroring hers. She had no idea what had just happened, all she knew was it didn't feel right. Shaking her head as she turned she didn't see Nym as he skittered towards her and almost stepped on him. Sidestepping to keep from crushing him she tripped and almost fell. About to fall on her a** she grabbed onto the table and then pushed herself straight to her feet and cursed. "Gods be damned! Nym!" Taking a deep breath she picked up the last books she'd shoved into the bookshelf and tossed it straight at the wall. "You can't do that!" she hissed at him slamming a hand down on the table before plopping back into her seat and putting a hand to her head. Why was she angry?

Hey he was just as surprised and was trying to get out of her way...if she would stay in once place like she was supposed to this wouldn't happen. But all she got out of her anger was a little frigthened chitter from him as he left his socks and ring where they dropped and squeezed under the couch to hide as she more or less threw a fit and objects. Where did the happy just go?
