Seamus looked precious, with his bow tie. "I'm glad you agreed to come," Maia said, and smiled. She stroked his chin.
She stood and gave Annie a smile. "I'm trying to," she gave a little laugh. She took a breath, then. "I've never been so nervous."

Annie touched Maia's arm, and then perked as the rest of the wedding party, the male half, filtered into the room. The music began.
"Oh!" Annie said, "I guess that's us!"
"You look amazing," Lindy said as Annie dragged her to line up. Seamus waited his turn, sitting in front of Maia, purring because he was handsome and important. Finally he took a step out, right on time as the music changed to Maia's entrance. For him it was less "step and wait" and more "jog four steps and wait" but it was what it was.
"Alright. Here you go," Lori said, and he offered Maia his elbow. He still couldn't believe that he had been asked to walk her down the aisle, yet here they were. He was beaming.

Already?!
Oh, but just a moment ago she'd wished it'd be time, and now that that time was here... She took another breath. Everything was perfect. Seamus looked perfect, her friends looked perfect, and she was sure she was going to cry. She'd never been happier in her life. She felt like she was about to overflow.
She'd known the day was coming, had planned for it, they'd written the invitations together. It'd still seemed so far away, somehow. She took Lori's arm. She had to stop herself from biting her lip nervously. Today was a happy day! Annie was right. And life with Toby was already perfect, marrying him would only make it better!

From Maia's first step out of the room,petals began to fall. What they were exactly couldn't quite be discerned, but they were mostly white with perhaps a bit of yellow at the narrower end. They descended from absolutely nowhere in the sky, but their variation said that, somehow, they were real. They touched the ground before the bride and after Seamus.
Michael had heard how Maia had wanted a flower girl, of course. Hopefully a flower ghost would do.
Toby spotted Maia from far away and his somewhat blank, somewhat nervous expression broke. His brows raised in the center and he lifted a hand to cover his mouth a moment. She was beautiful. By god, this was actually happening, and she was beautiful. He let his hand drop and there was a broad smile behind it. His eyes were large and sparkling with wet.

Petals? Maia didn't stop, but she did look up and smile. Michael. It had to be. The flowers were coming from no where, but they were real. She didn't think anyone else could have pulled that off. She'd have to thank him later.
She spotted Toby then, and smiled. This was really happening! She didn't know what she'd expected, but this was even more beautiful than she'd ever imagined.
He was so far, though. And yet, that nervousness, that fear of falling, was gone.

It seemed like the walk took forever, and also just a moment. When Maia arrived at the front and Lori handed her off, Toby took her hand and beamed. He was definitely trying to not cry as they stood before the officiator.

They had settled on the beach for the reception, and everything was going beautifully. The sun was warm and bright for a spring day, and the sea breeze was absent. Gazebos stood over the tables, where people were still enjoying the food provided. Cake had been had; Seamus had growled at everyone at the table he'd been sat at, when he'd been given his cake; and then, party crashers had arrived.
Three seals had wandered over curiously. They didn't seem particularly concerned about the group.
Maia spotted them, and looked to Toby. She took his hand. "Come on," she said.

Annie's head was visible over the water. She hadn't wanted to scare the seals so she hadn't yelled, but she was watching closely.
Toby looked up when Maia took his hand and saved one last bite of cake to chew while they walked. He wasn't sure at first what they were going to go see, but they were hard to miss once you'd seen them. Toby smiled and swallowed.
"Friends of yours?"

"I don't know," Maia admitted. "I can't recognize them on sight," she added, and gave Toby a smile. "I think they'll let us come near, though," she said.
She led him closer. "I know that one," she pointed. One of them was smaller--young, maybe?

Toby nearly made a comment about sniffing their butts, then remembered that it might come back to bite him, being a werewolf and all.
"That one?" Toby asked. He barely pointed. Still he followed Maia, creeping closer and closer. Considering how close they were to a bunch of people they must really know Maia. Then again, a great number of these people were entities and even fae. Maybe they just felt comfortable.
"Hey guys," he said softly, "Heeeey."
Meanwhile people were beginning to notice. Some discreetly pulled out their phones for a photo. Others just marveled at the sight. Many had never seen a wild seal before, let alone from this close.

The biggest seal leaned closer to the married couple. Maia smiled and reached her hand to stroke his head. "You can pet him," she said. She looked at Toby, and then back to the seal. "You have a family now!" She said, stroking it again. "Me too."
"Maia's friends came," Cody observed, looking over. He had his phone out. "Do you think Toby will want pictures?"

Toby smiled broadly, not wanting to grin lest showing teeth was a threat for ocean-dogs too. He reached out slowly and stroked the seal's neck. it felt different than he thought it would.
"Hello," he said, "You know my wife, huh?"
Dari turned to Cody. "Oh, I'm sure. Feel free." The designated photographer was also shooting snapshots, but those weren't going to end up on Toby's phone!

The seal, predictably, didn't respond. It nuzzled Toby's hand after he was petted, though.
"I think he's saying he approves," Maia gave Toby a smile. She didn't have any animal magnetism, or any ability to communicate with them, but the seals here had always seemed to think of her as one of them.
Cody opened his camera app and zoomed in before starting to snap pictures.

Toby was less hesitant to pet the seal more when it nuzzled him. How strange! He had exactly zero Disney princess animal companions, and here Maia was with a small family of seals who were all a-ok with meeting her new husband. He just hoped that nobody else came in to ruin it all.

The seal allowed a few more pets before turning away. The other two followed suit, heading back towards the water.
Maia took Toby's hand and swayed them gently. "I love you," she said. She was so glad they'd decided on here for the wedding; that the police were doing their job, and by privatizing her beach, were protecting the seals that lived there.
