"I don't know really. One day things were just working smoothly for me and poof. I'm here, brick by brick and all my staff. It was really quite odd. Though I did throw the tension off by hosting a fete."
The whole time he had gone through a range of emotions, first being a lood of confusion, second was him being dramatic and displaying lots of hand motion, and finally was him grinning like a loon having too much fun.
But then it went back to confusion.
"Though I don't know what kind of food you speak of. Perhaps the cook will know, or you may make use of the kitchen."
Handing off the head to a distraught Fortune he moved back through the house, showing his yet unknown guest to the kitchen.

"Whatever works..."
She shrugged and followed after. "Oh, by the way, I'm Kalin. Kalin D'nom." She didnt' stick her hand out or anything but the redhead's voice was friendly enough.
"I could probably eat raw tuna and be happy. I haven't eaten since about 3 hours ago." Wait...did she say three hours ago? Might want to do a double take. The girl was barely five feet tall and looked like a strong wind would blow her over but she was ravishingly hungry after three hours? Weird.

"Three hours Kalin?"
Not bothering with that line any more he inclined his head over his shoulder and leaned back a bit to catch and upside down and slanted view of her.
"I would be Marquis Quintilius de Siegneur. You are welcome to stay as long as you like. I will give you warning before I tear the place down."
Righting himself he came to a side door. Pushing it opened he stepped into the kitchen. It was pretty quiet, but then the hour was odd for food prep and he had been gone for a while now.
"Use what you need."

"Thanks Mark. I appreciate the though...."She had been about to say thought, but sight of the kitchen made her pause, then squeal in delight. And so she made a beeline to the pantry, and began to dig through it. Had she called him mark? Apparently, she didn't know of any of the titles. "Have any food preferences or allergies? Cause otherwise, I'm just going to make a ...." Another loud squeal of delight. "PERFECT!!!"
And she came out of the pantry, laden with tomatoes, onions, cheese and a large hunk of bread. Everything fell onto the counter with a thunk as she hoisted one tomato and showed him the shiny skin. "Did you know that tomatoes are considered poisonous by most civilized peoples and kept as rat poison?" She found a knife and began to slice, ending up with a tomatoe, onion and cheese sammich.

"No, I did not know that." Watching her as she began to cut up the different items he spoke up.
"Please don't make too much of a mess." By then it was too late as she was done. "My that was rather quick of you."
Wondering what she was going to want next he decided to ask her what was on her mind.
"And what thoughts entertain your mind now?"

She would have answered that question, if she hadn't been busy eating with one hand while beginning to clear away her mess with the other. She may be a pig but she was at least tidy. After swallowing, she looked over at him, then looked him up and down.
"That you are a very pretty male, Mark."
Not very subtle was she? Then again, it was what she was thinking, it had occured to her as the question had just been asked. Other then that, she hadn't really been thinking beyond the next bite. Yet.

Not losing a step Quin nodded his head slowly. As he did so he was cleaning his hands with a damp towel he had found, he knew it would work because the water that was still in it was scalding his hands to the point where they were become a rather rich shade of red.
"Why thank you Kalin. That's very nice of you."
Throwing the towel off to the side it landed in the pot of war that he had found it near. Looking more carefully at her he played a jest.
"So how long will this last you? Perhaps a hour?"

She looked down at the sandwich and nodded in agreement. "Yeah, there abouts. Less if I'm active." She took another bite, finishing off the food before licking her fingers.
"So is there actually anything to do in this town, Mark?" Hopefully there would be something of interest for a young woman.

Pondering for a moment to what this person could possibly think of as fun he tapped the side of his face as his eyes rolled back, as though they were searching the inside of his mind.
"Nope, not much for fun here. About the only time I think anyone gets to have any fun is when I host a fete. Other wise bad s**t is going on, or things are just boring. Usually I just spend time in the library reading or doing some accounting."

"Ugh..." There was a definite pout on her face as she thought of doing nothing but accounting all day. "Well...uh..."She searched for the right words to say. "At least you have your books." That at least wasn't a lie. She loved books of every kind and shade.
"Well, uh..." Her hand went to tangle in her curls, making them only more hopelessly and adorably messy. "Thank you for the food. I can get out of your way if you'd like to...well, ya know." How did one tell someone they were willing to skiddadle if they wanted to be alone with a disconbobulated head. "...be alone."

Shrugging his shoulders he thought about it for a moment. He had been out all night so he could probably do with some sleep.
"If you think you are all right with that. My doors are open to you and I'm sure one of my staff would show you around if you asked."
Pushing open the door he walked out into the hall. Glancing back inside the kitchen he nodded his head slowly and began walking to the entrance where he would go up the stairs.

"Thanks Mark!" She smiled cheerfully, and decided to investigate the town. She might come back later or she might not. Who knew where the winds of Aeire would take her.
