Maji listened quietly to the conversation, having opened his mouth to address both females he was cut off by yet another intrusion. This one, however, didn't get to him as the last one did. At least she didn't make the assumption that the queen of the mistweavers -or so the female cub had called herself- was dead and that he would gladly be the mate of anyone who bore the same colors of his pride. An ear flicked as he came to the annoying conclusion that he was dwelling on something that wasn't worth getting worked up about anymore- or ever. He knew that he hadn't been quite himself in recent days and he was more prone to being irratable with everything going on as it did. With a sigh he turned to face the black lioness, "You're both very welcome into my home. It's very large I don't see why even-" he motioned with a paw to the newcomer, "Our new little friend here can't join us. It's far better than wondering about in a jungle. Just as long as each of you pulls your own weight as far as fishing and gathering supplies for cooking them I'll be happy to host you into my home." He rolled his shoulders and glanced down the river towards the waterfall, the cool spray flowing through the air was enough to cool his temper off further. It just wasn't like him to grow so angry. "That is if you'll have me as a host."

Mizaku turned his head when he heard Maji, skidding to a sudden hault. He looked back at the cobalt lion and swirled his tail in exciment. He glanced to Jendayi, ready to ask her about Maji's offer, but soon noticed that her pace had quickened. He didn't want to lose her, so he crouched down and leapt forwards. The leopard's padded feet struck the ground softly but powerfully and he stretched his legs on each bound, speeding up as best he could. Mizaku was almost caught up, running right behind the black-furred end of Jendayi's tail. He started panting now and shook the tuft of fur on his head, flicking his ears backwards with a playful smirk.

Layla watched as the water swirled around her paw, her eyes had now lost all signs of defense or anger as she listened to Maji. He seemed quite tense and she could sympathize, though she enjoyed the constant alertness that being tense brought. She looked up in an attempt to make brief eye contact with lion who, the more she looked, appeared to be less of a cub than she'd made him out to be.

"It's always nice to be a guest in a friend's home, perhaps bring Montsho on a visit as she can bring in a far larger kill than I," She rose to her paws as she spoke, her words hiding a very large thank you that she rarely said. "I really should be heading back to the tree now though... I-I will see you soon," her voice faltered for but a second, as she thought of how to properly end her encounter.

Jendayi's ears pricked back as she heard Mizaku behind her. It would be just a few more minutes before they arrived there, if they continued at this pace.

She turned her head and her emerald eyes sparkled mischievously. She slowed her stride and made to playfully push Mizaku.

Mizaku kept going faster and faster. He watched as Jendayi slowed a bit and bumped into him, making him go off his course for a second. The tan leopard snickered and pushed back against her side, letting his tail flail behind him as he ran.

He watched quietly as the leopard and the female "mistweaver" took off into an inknown direction, then as Layla returned to the tree tops. As she departed he placed one paw neatly before the other and bowed curtiously, turning himself upon rising and sloshing his way back from the river. They were all leaving again, he sighed, leaping onto the river bank and continuing on his way. Alone again it seemed... they'd probibly forget about the loanly cub behind the waterfall and continue their own lives in the jungle of his ancestors. He tried to distract himself from the negitive thoughts, masking his own emotions and thoughts from even himself under the shield of dull routene. He had fish to clean, herbs to dry, more herbs to grind, and writing to practice. After that he'd probibly turn in early and sleep as long as he could.

Pausing he turned over his shoulder. The jungle was quiet again, deathly quiet. Not many survived.... had he sinned and solitude was his punishment? Or was he the only one without sin that had been spared to endure the solitude as some sort of test? Either one hardly seemed fair to him. It was times like this that Maji felt the gods were mocking him.

((ugh, could've sworn I posted this! stressed ))

Jendayi took the force of the small blow to her side as she remembered Maji and Layla. She did not know Layla had departed, leaving poor Maji alone. She thought she was doing the pair a favor, giving them some very much needed privacy.

After a few more minutes Jendayi slowed her pace down to a walk. She was exhausted and could use they cool water on her body. Her ears pricked forward as a low, rushing noise filled her ears. She looked to left, towards the river and saw it was getting busier. She started at a slow low and turned the bend. In front of her was the waterfall. It wasn't large; no more than fifteen or twenty feet. Behind the waterfall was undoubtedly the cave where she had spent a good half of her childhood, bu she wasn't ready to tell anyone, not even Mizaku about the cave. She started to go up th rocky bank towards the waterfall, but first turned to see Mizaku's reaction.

Mizaku was tired from running so fast, as they slowed down he panted; tongue hanging out like a dog. But it was still fun, and he loved ever minute of it. The leopard followed Jendayi closely, head hanging towards the ground because of his exhaustion. He listen to the sound of the water, gentle and yet powerful... it was a very claming sound... Almost like a lullaby. And -being the very strange creature that he is-, Mizaku suddenly became sleepy. Veeeery sleepy. His eyes felt heavy, and he was losing his position beside Jendayi; now growing further behind.

But when the reached waterfall, it awoke him. Mizaku lifted his head and stared up at the falling water, eyes wide in amazement. He hopped on to a log, crawled to the end, and landed beside Jendayi again.
"It's... it's beautiful, Jendayi..." Mizaku gasped. His shocked face soon turned bright with a smile again.
"Whoooooa."

((Did I forget to mention that Mizaku is schizophrenic. o___o ... That will probably come into play soon >_>))

((I was reading his journal a few secondsa ago and just went uh-oh! But, I don't think Jendayi will take him there, bad things happened there....))
Jendayi hadn't noticed Mizaku's sudden behavior towards the water, but only saw his ecsatsy towards the waterfall, "I know." She said in a quiet, slow voice. She turned and made her way towards the bank leading up to the waterfall, "Come on, Mizaku."

Mizaku's smaller body had to move a little quicker to stay right behind Jendayi, and his feet padded against the soft, moist ground. He followed as close as he could, staring at the waterfall with eager eyes. But... as they got closer...

That... sound... getting louder... the water crashing down... Mizaku stopped abruptly. His ears flattened back, and he seemed to just freeze right there. He ducked his head a little; apparently something was going on in his head. He had been so excited, and then... for what looked as if no reason... Mizaku was terrified.

... It's just water... It's just water... he repeated in his mind. His eyes twitched shut, and his whole body shuddered. Something... weird... was happening... He reopened his eyes, sniffed the air, smiled happily, and continued to follow Jendayi.

((OMG Mizaku's a freak o_o ))

((I thought he was going to freak at the cave! o_o btw, I'm gonna be in and outt, we have guests...))

Jendayi paused and looked at Mizaku, she could have sworn she saw his face... never mind that. She smiled carefully at him, "Mizaku, are you sure you want to do this?" She gave him a strange look and rubbed her cheek against his, which was odd for Jendayi. She hadn't thought about doing it, she just did. She let her face linger close t his for a moment longer than smiled again. "You okay?"

((Anything can make him freak out. o_o A bug landing on his nose could freak him out >_>... My poor insane leopard... xp ))

"Yeah, of course!" he answered cheerfully, continuing to grin from ear to ear. When Jendayi's face touched his, Mizaku stood awkwardly still. He raised his eyebrows at this, feeling something odd jolt inside his body. It was a pleasant feeling, but... it went away quickly. His gray eyes hooded momentarily, thinking to himself. And then he answered a quiet, "Yeees..."

"Good." Jendayi said as she poulled her face awaya dn blushed ehavily. She couldn't remeber what she was doing. She heard the waterfall in the background and gave a ginger smile, "Let's go then." It was more of a question than a statement. She gestured for Mizaku to go ahead of herself, up the rocky embankment, just in case out of embarrassement.

((I know I spelled embarrassment wrong! i'm too tired to think! gonk ))

Mizaku smiled as he passed her with a hop, swishing his tail for balance. He jumped up on to a large rock, taking a moment to stare at the water before bounding to the next. He chuckled, and glanced over the bank. The leopard let out a cat-like "mew" and jumped at something he couldn't resist. Skattered along the sand were a few rocks, shiney ones, one of the things Mizaku liked the most. He purred and grabbed two of them in his mouth. With a flick of his tail, he turned to face Jendayi and cocked his head to the side.

"Check it out, Jendayi!" Mizaku stated, pouncing in front of her and dropping two pretty little stones, "Look what I found!" For some odd reason... he felt that this whole area belonged to Jendayi... She was the only one who knew where it was, right? He crouched down a little so his head was right beside the two pebbles.
"Am I allowed to take them?"

((It's funny, Jendayi's likes and dislikes are pre0written before I read hisd journal, and she has a lot in common with Mizzy!))

Jendayi smiled and remembered her secret stash of 'shinies,' as she had called them. Obviously Mizaku and herself had the same interest in the sparkly rocks. "Of course you can have them, Mizaku!" She pawed at one. It was a tan colored rock with many sparkles. "Wait a second!" She bounded away and disappeared into the forest.

A moment later she had returned with a large leaf hanging from her mouth, the leaf was gigantic, as big as her head. "Pt 'em here." She said as she found her sand-colored rock and gingerly placed it on the leaf, "We can leave the rocks here while we're swimming, you do want to swim, right?"
