a custom chapter is ok, but if your a beginner and dont know much, you try on of the main chapters. ultra marines seem to be the most popular, but i recommend trying the raven guard, or the dark angels.( these are the three i have collected)

WolfCloud I need help choosing a space marine army. Any suggestions Personally I think Imperial fists are the best chapter, and I must agree in that you shouldn't make your own chapter, if you are a beginner... Maybe later smile

Cagalli Yura Attha I suggest reading blood quest. Good read, gets you into the minds of true blood angels. That confuses Me. If the Deamon Prince on the ship, was a Demon Prince of -= Censored By The Inquisition=-, then how could he have Wives, as he supposedly had over a dozen, if their goal is to Kill and collect Skulls? **

I would suggest going with vanilla marines, and giving them some of the divergent rules. That would be the best way to start.

I am deciding between Tau, Imperial Space Marines, or Both.
Chaos is Cool, but so are all the other Groups.
I am also remotely considering Orcs.
