Well, that was utterly pointless. At least he knew now that he couldn't figure things out by heading to his house because his house was utterly destroyed despite the advanced shields that surrounded it in his time or dimention.

Note: When I get back, get better shields.

Silver, being at a loss at wha else to do, headed for the clocktower. If he got on top of that, he could get a birds eye view of the city. And maybe find something not in a pile of broken steel.

As Silver walked, he'd get closer to the clock tower, his footsteps crunching and cracking bits and pieces of the rubble as he made his way towards the ruins of the clocktower. It also got a little darker as the thick clouds of smoke in the sky covered the sun for a moment, plunging the ruins of the city into a lower light situation. Hopefully Silver wasn't afraid of being alone in a spooky place when it was practically overcast. However, as he walked he might notice that his footsteps seemed a little out of rhythm...

There's someone else...

The darkness didn't bother him at all, being a night person and all. I mean, what was going to attack him? Rubble? He continued on as usual, but kept a look out for whatever might be following him without making it look like he was keeping a look out. So to speak.

It wouldn't be long before Silver would hear the footsteps behind him pick up their pace, and turn into something that sounded like running, on all fours, and it was making nearly as much crunching as Silver would have, if not a little more, giving him a rough idea of his follower's weight. Whatever it was, was getting closer, and getting closer fast...

Silver would, of course, grip his spear and turn to see what was coming at him. Chances were, it was a wulf or a cyote or some starving animal. Even so, he wasn't going to take his chances.

Silver was about to be terribly dissapointed. If he thought a wolf or a coyote was going to attack him here, he had one hell of a surprise waiting for him. As he prepared, a rather large creature leapt up onto a pile of rubble, followed soon afterwords by another. They were nearly the same sixe as Silver, if not a bit bigger, and looked rather hungry...

What the HELL are Ambush Drakes doing in Durem!?!

This was very, very bad. An individual Ambush Drake was tough, but they tended to move in larger packs. There may only be two in front of him, but who knew how many countless more were in the area. He had to constantly stay alert; more could be waiting at any turn. If he ran, it would be the end of him. They understood Draconic, but they were primarily evil, so negotiations would be next to impossible... IF they even listened long enough.

Drawing Dragoonair, there was little he could do in his weakened state. But he had a plan. One that might not kill him if he failed. He spoke loudly with a stern, mean voice.

"Hold your ground!"

Right now it was all about seeming well enough of a match for the pack.

The Drakes, being rather hungry, and really not caring if this human being could speak their language, decided simply to move in and attack. They hadn't gotten a decent meal in days afterall. Most beings that lived here weren't stupid enough to wander around the empty streets alone, and since Silver had done just that, well, why give something the time of day if it was stupid? Survival of the fittest...

The first Drake would open its mouth as if to speak, but a large gout of brackish, foul smelling vapor and liquid would shoot from its mouth towards Silver's location. The second beast began to move around behind Silver, attempting to flank him and split his attention in half. Since he was outnumbered, that shouldn't be that difficult...

That's what I thought. Plan B...

Swoooosh!

Silver jumped into the air as high as he could, landing on the nearest building that was out of their reach. They could usually fly, but these one's didn't seem to be old enough, judging by their wing size. They could out maneuver a rock at best. With that we could continue on by jumping from tall building to building, heading towards the clock tower.

Silver Moonblade
That's what I thought. Plan B...

Swoooosh!
*FWHUMP!!*

As Silver jumped up and away, a third Ambush Drake...ambushed Silver from behind, his long thick front legs colliding with Silver as he made his way up into the air. This pack of Drakes had to deal with things far more dangerous than a worn out Dragoon with magical diabetes, and had been following him for quite some time. It isn't every day you see a potential meal simply fall out of the sky in a flash of light was it? That flash was quite the attention grabber.

The pack had then set up an attack plan with various routes blocked off and protected in order to better capture their prey. The pack had originally planned for two of the Drakes to get Silver's attnetion on them while the third would jump down from behind and surprise him, however, things hadn't gone exactly as the pack had hoped, and so the third Drake had to improvise...

The Drake and Silver would hit ground, both being stunned for a few seconds from the fall. The other two Drakes would then rush to catch up to where the pair had fallen, eager to get their meal.

((which is where I say "screw you" and blast them. XD))

Being that these things weighed way more than Silver did, there was no disputing that he was knocked clear out of the sky. It looked pretty bleak. Most people would probably give up and get ripped to shreads, or futily defend against something they could not possibly defeat.

But Silver Moonblade wasn't most people.

He expanded all the magical energy he had stabily recovered in a chaotic wave, one that would probably throw the creatures off gaurd and away from him just long enough to get away... thusly going back to plan A with some "I don't want to be eaten" magic improvising.
PostPosted: Sun Oct 29, 2006 12:32 pm

The blast did little more than push the third Ambush Drake off of him. Oddly enough, the Drake had only been sent back about three fee or so, and after a shake to regain its bearings, it acted quickly, its mouth shooting another blast of its breath towards Silver's weakened form. Now there was a question worth getting answered. Why the hell hadn't the magical blast effected the Drake to a more significant level?

He wasn't telling either way, and the other two Drakes would quickly dash behind Silver, flanking him, and surrounding him. Things just kept going from bad to worse in his place. Where was some good help when you needed it?

Either Silver underestimated their magic resistance, or he didn't have as much power left as he thought. Though he could resist the affects of a single breath weapon, the was no way he could withstand two in his weakened state. He would try to fend them off with Dragoonair, but that would be impossible in his weakened and slowed state.

It would be then that the one that had spat the toxic poison at him would lunge towards him, aiming to bite the spear away from Silver, while the two that were behind and to the side of him would quickly move in to attack Silver's back and body while he was distracted by the one in the front of him. Things were really looking bad now...

((No s**t, Shirlock))

The one trying to bite the spear away from Silver would end up with a rather nasty hole in its skull. If it thought that he was going to give up his weapon so easily, then they were sorely mistaken. As the Ambush Drake opened its mouth for the bite Moonblade would thrust Dragoonair in and extend it to its full legnth. 13 feet of metal was sure to leave a mark.

As for the others, well... he could only move so fast.
